Epigraph
Dear Reader,
I wanted to talk a little about this story before you start reading. Recently, I was challenged to write more short fiction, which brought me back to the Sorcerer of Trabir. Over the years, I've written many pieces about Sage and the Sorcerer. They are some of my favorite characters, inspired by my favorite myths and fairy tales, Cupid and Psyche and Beauty and the Beast, with a little of the Phantom of the Opera inspiration. I've linked music and lyrics that helped me connect to my characters. I really had fun picking songs that deeply connected with each chapter and making playlists for Sage and the Sorcerer.
The story can be read alone, but it's really helped me world-build for an upcoming fantasy series I may release. Sage is a very important character in an unreleased book, and this novella helped me explore a dynamic woman who longs to ride the wind again, trapped by magic. I love containing her against the Sorcerer, a man similarly trapped in a battle with himself and refusing options in front of him.
As a note, like Beauty and the Beast and Cupid and Psyche, this story discusses intense themes of trauma and kidnapping. I've marked this story as mature because of these themes. The romance in this story itself is clean and wholesome. I hope you enjoy this story of reclaiming names and rediscovering who you are after trauma.

The Sorcerer's Lullaby
Pass up the river
Roll down the stream
Sleep where the elemental's rest
As you can dream
Lost is the mountain
The place that you fear
The Sorcerer waits for you
In the Castle of Trabir
Deep in the mountain
Far from the wood
The spirit he calls you
To do not but good
Lost is the mountain
The place that you fear
The Sorcerer waits for you
In the Castle of Trabir
Join him in revelry
Feast in his care
Never get too close
Or be lost in his stare
Lost is the mountain
The place that you fear
The Sorcerer waits for you
In the Castle of Trabir
