♕♛♕

Walker Lapointe was currently driving Maggie and Maverick to Riverdale High for their first day of their sophomore year of high school, but they were beyond ready for this new start.

Their father stops the Jeep in front of the school, the twins hugging their father tightly before exiting the Jeep and making their way through the front doors of Riverdale High and to the school's office.

When the twins arrive at the office the two walk into the secretary's office before Maggie speaks up, "Uh we're the Lapointe twins. Maggie and Maverick, we're new here and we need our class schedules."

"Alright here you go, Maggie this is yours and Maverick's is the paper underneath yours. Have a nice day." The secretary says, obviously not wanting to deal with them.

"Where are we supposed to meet the girl giving us the tour this morning?" Maggie questions the secretary.

"She should be here soon. There's also another new girl named Veronica who should be joining you three." The lady says before rushing them off.

The two wait on a bench sat outside of the office for Betty and this other new girl Veronica to show up so they can be introduced to Riverdale High.

The Lapointe twins didn't have to wait very long before Veronica Lodge and Betty Cooper join them in the office, the four of them getting ready to start their tour.

The four exit the office as Betty says, "So, I usually start off my tours with a little history and context. Riverdale High first opened its doors in nineteen-fourty-one and-"

"And hasn't been redecorated since, apparently. Honestly I feel like I'm wandering through the lost epilogue of Our Town." Veronica cuts in, "So what's the social scene like here? Any night clubs?"

Suddenly a man comes up behind them, making his way in front of the group and answering for Betty, "A strip club called The Ho Zone and a tragic gay bar called Innuendo. Friday nights, football games and then tailgate parties at the Mallmart parking lot. Saturday night is movie night, regardless of what's playing at the Bijou, and you better get there early because we don't have reserved seating in Riverdale. And Sunday nights thank god for HBO."

When they stop at the end of the hallway the man wraps an arm around Betty's shoulder before she introduces him, "Veronica Lodge, Maggie and Maverick Lapointe, this is Kevin Keller. Veronica and the twins are new here, Kevin is-"

"Gay, thank god. Let's be best friends." Veronica cuts in, shaking his hand.

"That's awesome man, I'm gay too." Maverick speaks up for the first time since the tour started.

"Really? We need more of us around here." Kevin says with a chuckle, smiling kindly at Maverick.

"So, Veronica, is it true what they say about your dad?" Kevin questions her.

"That he's the devil incarnate? I stand by my father. Does everyone here know?" She asks.

"We didn't know." Maggie adds for her and her brother.

Betty and Kevin kind of nod about the rest of the school knowing before Veronica says, "Wonderful. Ten minutes in and I'm already the Blue Jasmine of Riverdale High."

The girl then walks off a bit and Betty gives Kevin a look, Maggie and Maverick still slightly confused on the situation before the four follow after Veronica.

"Oh, and of course there's the back to school semiformal dance this weekend." Betty says with a smile.

Veronica gasps and grabs Betty's arm before questioning her, "There's the hottie you were with last night. The red-headed Ansley Elgort. Is he your boyfriend?"

"No, we're just friends." Betty answers.

"No, he's straight." Kevin answers at the same time.

"In that case mind putting in a word? I've tried every flavor of boy but orange." Veronica says.

"Actually to clarify, Betty and Archie aren't dating, but they are endgame." Kevin replies.

"You should ask him to the semiformal the ." Veronica says with a smile at Betty.

"She should, but I heard it might be getting canceled because of what happened to Jason. They're gonna tell us at the assembly." Kevin replies.

"Who's Jason and what happened to him?" Veronica asks.

"You didn't hear? On July Fourth he drowned but they never found his body." Maggie answers.

"How do you know about that?" Kevin questions Maggie.

"We were there, my dad, Maverick and I. He suggested that so I can practice my photography since we had finished unpacking we were going to go camping and we heard the sirens and found out what happened." Maggie says.

"We better get going to the assembly, don't want to be late." Betty says before leading them to the gym.

Once they're in the gym they take their seats before they're asked to have a moment of silence for Jason, so everyone sits silently in honor of him.

"Thank you for that moment of silence. Many of you were lucky enough to have known my brother personally. Each and every one of you meant the world to Jason. I loved my brother. He was and always will be my soulmate. So I speak with the confidence only a twin could have, Jason wouldn't want us to spend the year mourning. Jason would want us to move on with our lives. Which is why I've asked the school board not to cancel the back to school semiformal but rather let us use it as a way to heal, collectively, and celebrate my brother's too too short life on this mortal coil. Thank you all." Cheryl Blossom says, finishing her speech as everyone cheered.

After Cheryl's speech and the assembly was over everyone parts ways to head to their respective classes for the period until they plan to meet back up for lunch.

Maggie and Maverick head out of the cafeteria out into the fenced in lunch area outside the school, searching the tables for a place to sit at until they recognized Betty, Archie and Kevin sitting at a table so they went over to sit with them.

"Mind if we join you? Maggie asks with a smile in their direction." Archie looks up and smiles.

"Maggie! Maverick! It's nice to see you guys again, of course you can join us." Archie replies with a smile.

"You know each other?" Betty questions as the twins sit at the table.

"Yeah we're actually neighbors almost, and his father knew ours when we lived here. And I think we're actually neighbors too Betty." Maggie says with a smile.

"Oh so you two were the ones who moved in on the other side of us, my mother told me someone had moved in there." Betty answers with a smile.

Archie then shows the little group at the table the song he's been working on when Veronica comes walking over to the table containing the five people.

"Can I join?" Veronica asks.

Archie shuts his computer quickly before Betty answers, "Yeah."

"What are we doing?" Veronica asks again.

"We were just listening to one of Archie's songs." Betty says with a smile.

"I thought we were going to have to pretend to like it but it's actually really good." Kevin adds.

"Wait that was you singing something you wrote?" Veronica questions Archie.

"It's rough." Archie answers.

"No, it's great." Betty says, looking at Archie.

"It's incredible, actually, the little snippet I heard. Is that your thing, music? Are you doing something with that?" Veronica says.

"Yeah, that's the plan." Archie answers honestly, "So how is your first day going you three, good?"

"Mines going great, I'm loving the change, and this school is way better than our old one. Riverdale is definitely growing on me." Maggie says with a smile.

"I second that, this place is totally something, and so different from our old school." Maverick answers after.

"Not to be a complete narcissist but I thought people would be more--" Veronica starts.

"Obsessed with you?" Kevin finishes, "Any other year you'd be treading number one, for sure. This year, though, it's all about Cheryl trying to win the Best Supporting Psycho Oscar for her role as Riverdale High's bereaved Red Widow."

"Hey I should go, I've got that meeting with Grundy and then football tryouts, so." Archie says as he stands from the table.

"You play football too? What don't you do?" Veronica asks him as he leaves.

"Before you ask Blue Jasmine, no, she has not invited him to the dance yet." Kevin says to Veronica.

"Not yet, and don't talk about Archie." Betty says to the two as Cheryl approaches.

"Veronica Lodge, Lapointe Twins, I'd heard whisperings. I'm Cheryl Blossom, may I sit?" She asks when she reaches the table, "Betty would you mind?"

Betty scoots down a bit so Cheryl can sit in front of the twins and Veronica, "So, what are you five hens gossiping about? Archie's Efron-esque emergence from the chrysalis of puberty?"

"Extracurricular's." Veronica replies, not mentioning Archie, "Weatherbee wants us to sign up for a few."

"Cheerleading! You two girls must. I am senior captain of the River Vixens." Cheryl says, referring to Veronica and Maggie.

"Is cheerleading still a thing?" Kevin questions Cheryl.

"Is being the gay best friend still a thing?" Cheryl remarks back before finishing with, "Some people say it's retro, I say it's eternal and iconic."

"At Spence, I sat at the top of the Elites pyramid. I'm in." Veronica says.

"I am totally in too! I've always wanted to try out cheerleading at my old school but I never found the time." Maggie answers with a smile towards Cheryl.

"Betty, you're trying out too! We can all be River Vixens together." Veronica says.

"Of course, anyone's welcome to try out, but Betty's already got so much on her plate right now and being a Vixen is kind of a full time thing. But open to all! Follow me on twitter and I'll do the same, my handle is @cherylbombshell." She says before walking off.

When she's out of earshot Veronica speaks up, "Okay, go ahead and hate on cheerleading but if hipster prince Harry--"

"Oh I'd love to be a cheerleader. It would look great on my college applications. But last year when I tried out Cheryl said I was too fat." Betty says with a sigh.

"Too season five Betty Draper. It was a great line, but not at all true." Kevin says.

"Well, you're a total smoke show now, I mean it. As hot and as smart as you are, you should be the Queen Bey of this drab hive. Look, if you want to be a River Vixen I'll help you girls prep. I have moves." Veronica offers to the two girls.

"Okay. You know what, show me your moves." Betty says with a smile on her face.

"Yes! This is going to be so fun I cannot wait." Maggie says excitedly.
