Archie walked over to Jughead's table before asking, "Do you want to come join us? It's my dad and me, and the new family in town. Their dad Walker and the twins, Maggie and Maverick."

"Why do you want me to join you guys?" Jughead asks, looking up from what he was writing.

"I think you all would get along. And I miss hanging with you Jug." Archie says to him.

"Fine. But only if you're treating." Jughead says reluctantly, packing up his computer in his backpack.

"They're paying actually, Walker wanted to pay for everyone." Archie says before the two head back to the table he was previously sat at.

Maggie looks up from her shake to see Archie and his friend Jughead walking towards the table, and the girl felt a bit of a smile pull onto her face.

When they make it to the table Archie sits back where he was originally which was on the side opposite the twins, next to his father Fred which only left one open seat which just so happened to be on the side the twins sat, right next to Maggie since Maverick wanted to be near the window.

Maggie smiles kindly at Jughead, "Have a seat Jughead, I don't bite."

"Uh, thanks." Jughead says awkwardly before taking the seat beside Maggie.

"Jughead this is Maggie, Maverick and their father Walker Lapointe, they're new in town." Archie says, point to each respective person as he says their name.

"Actually just the twins are new in town, Walker used to live around here up until he was a teenager, me and your dad used to be good friends with him in school." Fred adds in.

"Woah, you were friends with my dad?" Jughead questions Walker.

"Yeah I did, me, Fred and Forsythe all used to have a band together called The Fred Heads. We were all inseparable best friends, those were the times." Walker says with a smile, recalling the memories they had together.

"So why did you move away?" Jughead questions Walker again.

"My parents wanted to move all the way to Chicago. And when I was there I met the twins mother at my new high school, we fell in love, had kids and just stayed in Chicago. Until we got divorced because she cheated with our family dentist. I took the kids and came back here for a fresh start because I always missed Riverdale. And here we are." Walker says with a chuckle before Pop came back with their food.

"Jughead order anything you want and a milkshake, I'm paying for everyone." Walker says after Pop places their food in front of them.

"Uh, could I get a hot dog, fries and a chocolate shake." Jughead says to Pop before turning to Walker, "Thank you Walker."

"It's not a problem Jughead, it's the least I can do for the son of one of my childhood best friends." Walker says with a smile before taking a bite of his own food.

Pop brings Jughead's food not long after, sitting his plate and Milkshake in front of him, "Thank you Pop."

"Enjoy your food everyone." Pop says before walking back behind the counter.

Unlike the rest of the group Maggie had waited patiently until Jughead had his food, wanting to be polite and wait until everyone had their food before she started eating her own.

Jughead noticed that she waited for him so he sends a small smile in her direction before grabbing a handful of fries and dipping them in ketchup before putting them into his mouth.

Maggie smiled kindly back before putting some ketchup on her hot dog before squirting some ketchup onto her fries, taking a bite of her hot dog before eating some fries, drinking some of her chocolate shake.

"Dad you were right, this place has amazing food and shakes." Maggie says with a huge smile on her face.

"I told you Mags, this place is great. After all these years it's still my favorite, so do you agree with me now that it's actually better than Steak-N-Shake since you've tried it for yourself?" Walker questions with a smirk on his face.

"Oh definitely, Dad, I can't believe I ever doubted it. This has got to be my new favorite place, what do you think Mav?" Maggie asks, a bright smile on her face as she sips her shake, looking over at Maverick.

"I love this place. Definitely better, I second that this is my new favorite place as well." Maverick says, a slight smirk on his lips.

"Hopefully the food and town is enough to make you guys want to stay in Riverdale." Archie says with a chuckle.

"So are you two going to Riverdale High as well?" Jughead questions the twin mysteries in front of him.

"Yes we are, it should be an experience." Maverick answers, shaking his head a bit.

"Oh come on Mav, I'm sure you'll like the school. I on the other hand am ready for a new start and hopefully make friends." Maggie says as she looks over at Jughead with a smile.

"I think you and Betty would make great friends. She's actually the girl who lives in between our houses." Archie speaks up, looking in Maggie's direction.

"Wait, Betty Cooper? If so then she's the one supposed to give us the tour of the school the first day." Maggie replies.

"That would be the one. So the two of you will get to meet, let me know how that all goes." Archie says with a smile.

"Will do Archie." Maggie says with a smile before going back to eating her food.

The group make some more small talk while eating their food and finishing their shakes before the sun starts to set on the horizon out the window, Walker decides since they've all been long finished with their food that they should probably get home to unpack their things.

"Alright kiddos, we should pay and get on our way home, we have a lot of unpacking ahead of us before school starts." Walker says looking at his twins.

"Aw come on dad, I was just starting to come around to Riverdale." Maverick says with a chuckle, him getting along nicely with Archie and Jughead.

"You have plenty of time to warm up to the place after we unpack." Walker says as he slides out of the booth.

Maggie giggles a bit before Jughead stands up so the twins can slide out of their booth, Maggie being the first to do so before Maverick reluctantly gets up.

"I'll see you guys around, thanks for the food." Jughead says with a nod and smile in their direction before heading back to continue his writing in the booth he previously sat in.

"See you Jug, see you Archie, bye Mr Andrews." Maggie says, waving at them before the two twins walked over the room and get in their fathers Jeep as he paid Pop before joining them.

Once Walker's in the Jeep he starts it up before starting the drive towards their new home, "So what do you guys think so far?"

"I'm liking it here dad. I didn't think I would but, Pop's, and the possible two new friends already has me sold." Maverick says with a chuckle.

"I knew you'd end up liking it here. What about you Mags?" Walker says with a smile on his face, looking at Maggie in the rear view mirror briefly.

"I'm loving it. I have an awesome room, Pop's is amazing, and the scenery around here is so beautiful. It'll be perfect practice for me to photograph." Maggie says happily from the back seat.

"Maybe we can go camping July Fourth weekend and we could hike the forest so you can photograph Sweetwater River." Walker offers, glad his kids are warming up to Riverdale.

"That sounds like fun dad! The scenery is definitely better than drab Chicago, too many buildings and not enough nature." Maggie says happily as they pull into their driveway.

"Let's get to unpacking kiddos, make this place more homey." Walker says before he heads to the kitchen to start unpacking the boxes in there.

"I'm gonna go unpack my room dad, I love you!" Maggie says before bounding up the stairs into her room, closing the door behind her with a smile.

Maggie walks over and grabs her box of photography things, opening it and pulling out her camera before opening the windows of her bay window, sitting on the little built in seat before taking a few pictures of the forest behind their house she lays her camera on her bed before continuing to unpack the rest of her boxes into the night.
