Chapter Fifteen

"We just had to fall off the train into the cold freaking snow, didn't we?" Alya's teeth chattered together as she huddled closer to Marinette, who was clinging to Chat's waist for warmth. Alya scowled at the warm couple as Chat wrapped his arm around Marinette's shoulders, holding her as close to him as he could.

"If you're trying to place the blame on me for this one, you are shit out of luck. Not even I could control that." He pulled Alya closer to Marinette, who needed the most warmth out of the three of them. While she was wearing a cheap pair of sneakers, sweatpants, that were torn into shreds, and a thing cotton tee. He was decked out in a full body leather, skin tight suit, with heavy boots and his suit provided some heat all the while keeping his body heat locked in. So basically, he was better off than the girl he loved, which really bothered him; a lot.

"I wasn't doing anything, you damn cat. I just want to get out of this weather."

"We still have those men to worry about too, kitty. I'm positive that pushing them off a train into giant piles of snow isn't going to stop them." Alya nodded in agreement at Marinette's statement. "And leaving these tracks in the snow certainly isn't going to slow them down on tracking us either."

"Well I'm sad to say that we're in between cities, so we have quite a long way to go." Marinette could detect the hint of aggressiveness and irony in Chat's voice as they continued to march through the sloshy ice.

"Hey, it's not you fault if that what you're thinking. We just got unlucky and they found us, but we made it out of there without a scratch, so cheer up." Chat glanced down at her shredded sweats, red blood dotting the outline of the tears.

"So you say. You managed to hurt yourself on the roof of the train m." An icy blast of wind blew on them in powerful gusts, causing them to squint their eyes and bunch closer together. Their cheeks reddened from the cold and the fingers, including Chat's, felt numb at the tips. "We need to hurry up and find shelter."

"Agreed." Marinette and Alya stuttered together in unison, their teeth chattering loudly as they clanked together loudly.

"I'm going to climb a tree and see if I can find anything."

"Are you sure? It sounds dangerous Chat."

"Don't you know who you're talking to Princess? I'm Chat Noir, the coolest cat that rules the night! Nothing can hurt me!"

Marinette shook her head in a grimace as Alya glowered at the flaunting and flamboyant cat themed hero as he scaled the tree, reaching for the thick and icy branches. "Wouldn't it just be easier if he had used that staff he has?"

"Yeah, but now he's being cocky and showing off." Marinette sighed as she watched him climb higher and higher up the tall tree.

Chat quickly reached the top as he peered over the branches and frozen leaves that were too unlucky to escape the clutches of said branches. Bright lights twinkled from far below, a good mile; mile and a half away from where the trio were currently.

"Yes! I knew it! I knew it, I knew it, I knew-" his jumping ceased as he heard the cracking of the branches he was on. "It?" The cracking ceased and he released the breath he didn't even know he was holding. "That was close."

SNAP

A weird cat-like howl escaped his lips as he fell from the top of the tree. He twisted and turned to reach for the baton attached at his back but failed miserably as he collided with the pure white snow. His blond head popped out of the wet powder-like snow, looking at Marinette who was squat down next to him.

"What did I tell you?"

"I know, I know. But to make up for it, I found something!"

"What did you find?" Alya excitedly yanked the lightweight boy out of the snow, shaking him violently.

"A city! Now let go of my bell, Mrs. Grabby!"

"Les go and get out of this cold Marinette!" Alya snatched Marinette's arm and began to tug her in a random direction, running the fastest Marinette had ever seen her run.

"Wait! You're just leaving me behind?! You're not even going in the right direction! Marinette! Come back to your kitty!" Chat's cries filled the still air.

Sorry it's so short but I have so many things I need to update today! Sorry for the hiatus this week, I was banned from from screens of any sort because I got another concussion.

Until next time, peace!
