Chapter 2
Haylee's pov
I didn't go to school for two weeks because the bruises all over my face were healing and I hated when people asked questions. So when I finally went back I saw the guy I met at the store looking at me with a straight face. I never saw him around before but now that I know him it was like I couldn't stop seeing him everywhere he went he was there.
"can I help you?" I said
"Why haven't I seen you here in two weeks"
" I went on a family vacation" I said
"Don't lie to me" he said
" why do you care if I was here not you don't even know me" I said
"I do know you Haylee Bakers" he said
I looked up at him in shock no one has called me that in 12 years. My real last name is Bakers when I moved in with the foster family I used to have their last name was Morgan so I kept it that way.
"What did you just call me?" I said
" I knew it I knew I was right you are her where did you go and why did you leave?" He said
"what are you talking about?" I said
"You don't know?" He said
"Know what that some random guy I don't even know is everywhere I go now look I dont know who you are but leave me the hell alone" I said and walked off.
I bumped into James and he was with his friends.
"Beautiful" He said and I scoffed which I knew was a mistake.
"Excuse me" he whispered
"Do it again and you'll regret it" he said and grabbed my arm tight and I let out a squeal and out of no where James was punched in the face.
"That how you treat a lady man by beating her?!" The guy said and all James friends looked at him.
"Get the fuck out of my face punk" James said and the guy punched him again when he tried to touch me and by the time I knew it James was running off along with his friends.
"Are you okay?" He said
"Who the hell are you" I said and he smiled
"Adrian, Adrian Watson" he said
"Can I take you home?" He said and I shook my head.
"I live with James" I said
"Where are your parents?" he said
"They died when I was four" I said and he looked confused.
"I have foster parents but they moved to Wisconsin and when I met James he wasn't so domestic" I said
"And they trusted him" he said and I nodded
"Why didn't you leave?" He said
"Because I felt like this was my home like something was keeping me here I just don't know what it is." I said
"I know exactly why you're still here" he said
"Why?" I said
"Because...." He said trailing off.........
