Haylee's pov 

It started to get late and we left the lake around 10:45 and it was almost a 30 minute drive back to tori's house. 

''so are you sad to leave tori's when you get back?'' he said 

''yeah tori has always been there for me when i needed her especially when i needed someone to stay with to get away from james.'' i said 

''wow'' he said 

''yeah she's like my sister so its hard to leave her'' i said

''sorry hay'' he said 

''its okay it's not like i wont see her ever again'' i said and he nodded 

He dozed off for a second and looked at me.

''why did you doze off'' i said 

''my mom linked me'' he said 

''oh everything okay?'' i said 

''yeah everything is good'' he said 

''we are here'' he said and i sighed

''thanks'' i said 

''for'' he said 

''today everything'' i said

''don't worry it was no problem'' he said 

''so the-'' he cut me off

''i have to use the restroom can i go in'' he said and i looked confused and i shrugged it off and nodded. 

''you are so weird'' i said and we walked to the door and he seemed anxious.

''are you okay?'' i said 

''yeah just need to pee'' he said and i chuckled and i opened the door and turned on the lights to the living room and..

''SURPRISE!!!!'' everyone yelled and i jumped back to cameron and he carried me and he started to laugh.

''shit'' i said and laughed and i got down.

''oh my god guys'' i said 

''happy almost birthday'' tori said and smiled and i gave her a hug.

''thank you tori'' i said 

I looked around and saw everyone there even my parents and i turned to my right and i saw adrian and guilt rushed over me.

''this is why you didn't want me to bring up the sex'' i linked cam

''yeah everyone was kinda listening'' he linked

''thanks for stopping me'' he said 

''its okay i realize now the sex was just to take your mind off adrian'' he linked and i looked at him and he walked away.

''you okay?'' tori said and i felt the guilt just overwhelm me.

''you reek of guilt what the hell did you do'' she said

''me and cam had sex and he thinks it was just to take my mind off adrian'' i linked and she widened her eyes.

''WHAT!'' she yelled and everyone looked 

''oh um nothing'' she said and everyone went back to what they were doing wrong and she grabbed me and cameron and we went up to the room and she turned on all the sinks and i was confused.

''they can't hear us when the water is running'' she said 

''what's up'' cam said 

''you tell me what's up asshole you have sex with my bestfriend and tell her its to take her mind off adrian the hell is wrong with you'' she said 

''i didn't mean it i was just scared im not her mate and i realize now we shouldn't have done it'' he said 

''i feel the same way'' i said 

''well in....'' she paused to look at the time

''in three minutes we find out who her mate is'' tori said 

''tori im already seventeen haylee isn't my mate if she was i would have felt it or smelled it'' he said and i looked down.

''can we just forget it happened it doesn't matter anymore okay'' i said 

''and what if you find your mate here what are you gonna tell him oh i had sex with cameron a few hours before this'' tori said and i sighed

''can we just talk about this later'' i said 

''we now have one minute till my birthday'' i said and opened the door to walk out and i saw adrian and he looked at me with mixed emotions. 

A few seconds later an amazing smell filled my nose it was pine and fresh mint and in that moment.

''mate'' i whispered and adrian looked at cameron and his eyes turned black in pure anger and he growled and he ran past me and tackled cameron down and started to punch him but cameron fought back.

''STOP!'' i screamed and pulled cameron off adrian and adrian got up.

''YOU HAD SEX WITH HIM HAYLEE YOU KNEW YOU FUCKING KNEW YOU WERE MY MATE BY WHAT HAPPENED AT SCHOOL YOU KNEW AND YOU STILL HAD SEX WITH THIS ASSHOLE'' adrian yelled 

''I-I'' i didn't know what to say but i was lost for words.

''im sorry'' i said and i walked out and once i got downstairs everyone had heard. Great. 

''haylee'' nick said 

''just fucking forget it nick'' i said and i walked out of the house and i shifted and ran off not caring if anyone saw. 

I ran back to the spot cameron took me. I just layed there and i felt like crying. But i just got angry because i regretted what i did. All i felt was pure hate towards myself. 

I shifted back into my human form and i grabbed a heavy rock and walked into the lake and the rock drifted me down

After thirty seconds i started losing my breath and the last thing i saw before i blacked out was someone jumping in.........................

Cameron's pov 

''fucking asshole don't you see how fucking great she is and how you just fucked up'' i said 

''you are the one that had sex with my mate knowing she wasn't yours!'' adrian growled and we heard a scream from downstairs and we all ran down and saw nick coughing on the floor. 

''what the hell is going on'' i said 

''something's wrong'' haylee's mom said 

''its haylee somethings wrong with haylee'' nick said coughing out then he started to throw up but it wasn't throw up it was just water coming out.

''i know where she is'' i said and i ran outside and shifted and ran all the way there as fast as i could.

Haylee what are you doing....

I got there and i couldnt see her so i jumped in and i saw her at the bottom of the lake with a rock on her stomach holding her down and i swam down and shifted into human form and pushed the rock off and grabbed haylee and pulled her to the surface and haylee was pale and her lips were blue.

''NO HAYLEE'' i yelled and i started to do CPR on her and i blew two breaths in her mouth and kept repeating but nothing happened. 

''haylee please'' i cried 

''don't do this don't leave'' I cried and i kept doing the compressions and breaths and everyone showed up in cars and i knew they followed my scent and tori brought over a blanket and covered me up. 

''OH MY GOD HAYLEE'' her mom yelled and came to her side.

''baby don't leave'' she cried
