Only @HayaAsif6 was able to understand the last lines so let me just say that this girl is smart af lol.

Make sure to vote and comment.

Tell me what you think.

He was his own brother.

His brother.

He never thought of Sami as anything other than that. He always thought of him as another Ahad. A part of his family. Sami had been with him for decades now. How could he?

Zaydaan Ziagil did not understand how a man he considered his brother, his actual brother, his friend, his confidant, a man he spoke so highly of, a man who was the closest to his wife, could actually do that.

He didn't expect Sami to betray him.

Not like this.

He knew the reason behind it and he knew Alexander was fixing it but to know that he would do anything just for the sake of his wife, it was both beautiful and daunting.

Sami was a trained man. He had an oath to fulfill. How could he fall prey to Awan's shit like that?

Why did he not even bother to tell Zaydaan about Raima? If it had not been for Alexander knowing Awan's future plans, he would not even know about it at all.

Zaydaan looked at his brother, at the man who he trusted the most, he trusted Sami more than Waseem even and Waseem was the head of Prime Minister's security.

"You can shoot now, Sami Ullah." Awan stated, Zaydaan looked at the shaky hands of Sami, holding a gun.

"Sami?" Zaydaan took his name, trying to pull him out of his trance and talk it through, atleast until Raima was back home and safe.

He knew Sami loved Raima more than anything in the world and love made a man do stupid things. Love often made one feel weak. He had experienced that himself.

"He has my wife." Sami replied, hands shaking and lips quivering.

"Oh yes, I do. And a very feisty one she is." Even in his bruised condition, Awan said all that he wanted to say and more.

"He has Raima?" Zaydaan asked.

"He got her kidnapped and he will kill her if I don't shoot you." Sami responded, holding onto the gun as his eyes were bloodshot and his hands were shaking.

Zaydaan saw his security team move forward, ready to shoot at the man and eliminate the danger. He shook his head, stopping them from even stepping forward.

"Tell Aaina I'm so sorry." He whispered, walking closer to Zaydaan and sniffing.

Since Zaydaan was already wearing a bullet proof vest underneath, he knew that Sami shooting at him wouldn't affect him. At the same time, he knew that it would take Sami alot of time to pull the trigger, he would do it but it would take him alot more time.

He was a man at conflict. Friend vs love. It was hard. He had made a decision but implementing that would be hard.

The best thing Zaydaan could do right now was play along with his emotions.

"Sami. You're my brother, do what you feel is right." He said. Sami shook his head.

"This is not right, Zaydaan. But he will kill my wife." Upon hearing him be so scared of Awan, a man that Zaydaan had under his grip right now, it was maddening.

"He won't do shit." Zaydaan spat out, staring at Awan.

His rival barely smirked.

"I fucking will." He warned.

"He won't." Zaydaan assured him yet again.

"Maybe, but I can't lose Raima. She's the mother of my kids. She's my life, Zaydaan." Sami held the gun tight to stop his arms from shaking.

Ahad, who had been too shocked to say anything before stepped forward. His eyes were enraged. How dare this man do this to his brother, to his family? How dare Sami betray them like that?

"You took an oath, you fucker. Your oath is your life!" He exclaimed, yelling at him.

"You fucking idiot. Don't you understand? He is in our custody! How can he hurt your wife when he is with us?" Ahad continued, yelling and shouting at him.

"Raima will fucking hate you for doing this." He warned, trying to stop him.

Zaydaan looked at Ahad and gave him a look, a look that he understood quite well.

"Ahad." Zaydaan murmured, making his brother nod and remain quiet.

Awan, who had seen this interaction let out a bitter chuckle.

"Actually, why don't you point the gun towards little Ziagil over there? He so badly wanted to fuck my sister."

Sami nodded, slowly moving the gun towards Ahad Ziagil. Ahad wasn't one to be afraid of guns or death. Infact, everytime there was a stressful situation, Ahad spoke out his heart. He had the motto that one should die with pride and without any regret.

He knew he wasn't going to die, courtesy of the bullet proof vest but he still managed to show Awan his look of hatred.

"It's not my fault your sister was a whore. She betrayed me, she fucked other men behind my back. I am still disgusted at the thought of her."

He saw the rage appear in Awan's eyes. It was satisfying, seeing him react like that.

"Sami. You can shoot on the count of three." Awan started off and Noora jumped up.

As she saw Sami pointing the gun at Ahad, both the Ziagil daughter in laws knew that shit was about to go down.

At first, Aaina was too consumed by the thought of her daughter and the promise she had made to her husband. She wouldn't come down, she would remain safe.

But seeing her best friend and her husband were on the verge of getting shot by the man she considered her elder brother, Aaina knew that she had to go down.

Before she could say anything, Noora stood up.

"I have to go! It's Ahad." She said, panicked.

"No, Noora. You're pregnant, wait." She stopped her sister in law.

"I'll go." Aaina added, knowing that she would go crazy sitting in here and doing nothing.

"Are you crazy, Aaina? You can not go there. You have a baby yourself." Noora replied, her face showing all signs of panic.

Aaina looked more calm than her in this scenario even though she was absolutely shocked at Sami bhai. She didn't know what he was saying but something was very very off.

"I'll be fine. Okay? I don't think Sami bhai has it in himself to shoot me. Be with Zayla." Aaina tried, making Noora shake her head.

"Aaina, no."

"Please, just, okay? It's Ahad."

Aaina knew it was not exactly the right thing to say.

"He's my husband. Not yours. I should go." Noora replied.

"He is my best friend. He would kill me if I let anything happen to you." Aaina continued.

"And Awan is playing a game here, I have to go."

She opened the door, telling Noora to lock it and remain inside. For the sake of her own baby and Zayla.

Noora only nodded, tears in her eyes and prayers in her heart.

As the first lady rushed downstairs, the view that greeted her was clearly not something that she ever wanted to see.

The man she thought of as her elder brother had a gun pointed at her Best friend, her husband stood there so casually like nothing that was happening around was affecting him at all.

Awan stood there, injured and hurt, yet so damn smug that Aaina wanted to spit at him.

She didn't feel any tears coming out of her eyes, neither did she feel afraid at all. It felt like she had faced the worst and she had this weird belief in her heart that nothing would happen anymore. She believed in Sami bhai, she believed in her husband who claimed that he had a plan and she believed that Allah wouldn't put her through any more pain and suffering by hurting the ones that she loved.

Aaina walked down the stairs, ignoring the guards that tried to stop her. Her eyes fell on Sami bhai, who was gripping the gun for dear life while his body shook with all the emotions that he held within him.

"Sami bhai! Wait!" Aaina exclaimed, snapping attention towards her.

"Oh look, the first lady is here. How nice of you to join us." Awan stated, his sarcasm and his voice only fuelling everyone's anger even further.

Zaydaan, who was standing there with his arms crossed stared at his wife.

Had she not promised to stay inside?

"What are you doing here? Go back." He said to her, not understanding why this woman always chose to put herself in danger.

Awan chaudhry barked out a laugh, hissing as the pain from his stomach enveloped him again.

"Aren't you tired of him ordering you around all the time?" He talked to the first lady, coughing and wheezing.

Chutiya. Aaina wanted to say, instead she just looked at Sami bhai and ignored the bastard Awan.

"Sami bhai, please put the gun down." She requested, knowing that Sami bhai didn't really want to do this.

She didn't know why he was doing this but she knew that there was a fucking good reason behind it.

"Your hands are shaking, please." She pleaded, pointing at his shaking body.

Zaydaan didn't know what else to do with his wife so he simply took a hold of her hand and pushed her behind him.

Aaina put her hand on Zaydaan's arm from behind as she talked to Sami bhai. She didn't protest as Zaydaan stood in front of her, it felt like she was talking to a wall so she just lifted her head from beside him and stayed there, staring at Sami.

"Aaina, I don't want to do this but he has Raima." Sami told the first lady.

Aaina let out a soft gasp for a moment. She had been so occupied with Zayla that she hadn't even noticed Raima not being around for two days. She didn't even wonder why the woman she considered her friend wasn't around to support her in such a tough time.

Aaina nodded, absorbing the information.

"Then don't. Raima would never want you to hurt someone because of her. Let alone the closest thing you both have to a family."

Sami and Raima had two sons. Sami's mother had passed away a few years ago and Raima's family was still not ready to accept or forgive their daughter who had run away from home decades ago.

The Ziagils were the closest to them when it came to a family. Eid dinners, family events, Sami and Raima were always present.

"Raima is my family." Sami insisted.

"And we'll find her. She's my friend, he won't do anything to her, we won't let him." Aaina tried to convince him, Awan clicked his tongue.

"They're just doing this to save their asses. At the end of the day, he's your master and you're his slave. He doesn't give a shit about you." He told the man holding the gun.

"You know that is not true, Sami." Zaydaan spoke up after a while.

This whole thing would have been over by now if it wasn't Sami holding the gun. His guards would have shot Sami if it hadn't been for the Prime Minister repeatedly telling them not to do anything.

Awan was playing a game that he wasn't even going to win, yet they were going around in circles. It was so fucking confusing.

Where the hell was Alexander?

"Okay, times up. Point the gun back to the big bad Prime Minister please."

Sami gulped, turning towards Zaydaan again.

Aaina squeezed her husband's arm, her other hand felt the jacket that he was wearing underneath and a sigh of relief left her mouth.

Okay.

Finally, Zaydaan took a step forward and looked at his brother.

"Sami, lower the gun." He ordered, it wasn't Zaydaan speaking but the Prime Minister.

"He'll kill her." Sami pleaded.

Zaydaan shook his head at him.

"He won't. Look behind you." Sami frowned, turning around.

He saw his wife standing right behind him, looking just like she used to look. She didn't look bruised or beaten, she didn't look hurt. She did look disappointed though, disappointed that her man would give up on his oath so easily. Did he have no faith in Zaydaan at all?

"Raima?!" Sami exclaimed, the gun falling from his hands as he spotted his wife and rushed towards her.

He took his wife into a tight embrace and the look on Awan's face was enough to make Zaydaan smirk.

Idiot.

"How did you-?" Sami tried to ask Raima. How had she escaped? What had happened? Was she okay?

"The bodyguard, I'm okay, Sami. I'm safe." She assured to him, looking behind at the Ziagil brothers and at Aaina.

"What were you about to do, Sami? How could you?" Raima cried, not understanding how much this man loved her that he would betray the one man he couldn't even think of betraying.

"The thought of something happening to you, it was too much." Sami tried to explain but Raima shook her head, tears falling from her eyes as she saw her conflicted husband.

She gestured him to talk to Zaydaan, not to her. He didn't need to explain himself to her. She understood. Maybe, she would have done the same.

People do things for the people they love. Regardless of whether they're right or wrong. That's who we are.

We don't care about ethics, morals, promises or anything else. All we care about is not losing the people that we hold dear to us, people that we love. If that makes us evil and selfish, then so be it.

Sami let out a sigh as tears fell out of his eyes and he fell on his knees, in front of his Prime Minister.

Aaina hadn't seen this man so weak, so vulnerable, so guilty. She closed her eyes, not willing to see Sami look so full of regret.

"Zaydaan, -" He whispered his brother's name, his friend's name, his Prime Minister's name.

"This is the first time I've seen you cry and it better be the last." Zaydaan's voice held no emotion for Sami, Aaina didn't know how he could act so well.

"I beg your forgiveness, Zaydaan." Sami begged, still on his knees.

Zaydaan shook his head, motioning him to get up.

"Get up." Sami got up, Zaydaan put a hand on his shoulder.

"You once took a bullet once for my wife. I would have taken one for yours. Go." He pushed Sami to move, Sami shook his head.

"I want to protect you." He insisted.

Zaydaan wanted to tell him that he didn't need his protection anymore but somehow, he stopped himself.

"Be with your family. I will be fine." Zaydaan reassures.

"I'm sorry." He heard the apology again.

"Go."

Sami nodded, walking out of the living room with his wife.

Aaina knew that Zaydaan hadn't forgiven him, he wouldn't forgive him. Not for pointing a gun at him or his brother but for not having any faith in him.

"He's never coming back, is he?" Aaina whispered in her husband's ear, knowing who Zaydaan was. Zaydaan shrugged.

"There is no room in my life for people who betray me." He said, plain and flat.

"Zaydaan." Zaydaan turned his face to stare at his wife.

"He is my brother. He will always be my brother but I can not trust a man to protect you when he can be easily clouded by his own feelings."

This was the first time Zaydaan had ever doubted Sami bhai and it was all because of Awan.

Aaina glared at Awan, eyes burning with unshed angry tears.

"Make this bastard pay." She said to her husband.

Zaydaan didn't think there was anything he'd be more content with doing than that.

Zaydaan Ziagil walked upto Awan Chaudhry, looking into his eyes as he let out a laugh. He couldn't help himself. All of Awan's plans had gone to shit. It was quite satisfying.

"Was that your plan? Oh well." He taunted, holding his enemy by the collar.

"If you had not used my daughter, I would have played fair. If you had not toyed with my wife, I would have played fair." Zaydaan started off, jerking the man's collar again before letting him go.

He pointed at his guards to go ahead, make him suffer, hurt him, give him pain.

"But I am Zaydaan Ziagil. If a man comes at me and my family, I do everything it takes to destroy him." Zaydaan announced, moving one step back as Waseem came forward with a few more men.

"This, is for taking away my daughter."

A second later, Awan Chaudhry was on his knees as the strike of the rod got too much to handle.

"And this is for even looking at my wife."

His head coiled onto thr other side as Waseem kicked it with his foot, earning a grunt from Awan.

"And this is for using your sister to break my brother's heart."

A guard lifted his head up, punching his mouth as blood seeped out of his already bruised lip.

"And this is for trying to frame my brother's wife for a murder."

Upon hearing Noora's name, Ahad stepped forward as well. He saw the way the guards pushed and pulled at Awan. He felt tempted to do the same.

"Bhai, may I?"

"Go ahead."

Ahad stepped in front of Awan, putting his leg on Awan's stomach and kicking him so hard that Awan spat out blood.

"Tujhe kya laga tha haan? Tu humain phasa lega?" (What did you think? You'll trap us?)

Ahad yelled. The bastard didn't have an inch of remorse in his eyes as he stared at the Ziagil brothers and coughed out.

"I always have a plan B." Awan said, coughing and wheezing. Zaydaan stopped his guards from any more beatings. They lifted Awan from the ground and held him against the wall, supporting him from the sides.

"No, you don't." Zaydaan murmured.

"If you think you have been successful in getting my parents abducted, you're absolutely wrong. They are relaxing in my beautiful stone house right now and the man you sent after them has been killed." Zaydaan continued, seeing the smug eyes disappear.

"You're not smart, Awan. You're quite dumb as a person. Kidnapping and cases. That was your major plan?" The Prime Minister asked, chuckling.

"Now, since we are not playing fair anymore. Why don't I show you what I have for you?"

Both Aaina and Ahad looked at him in anticipation, not knowing what Zaydaan was about to do.

"Alexander!" He yelled for the bodyguard and Alexander got out of the kitchen area.

But he was not alone.

Alex's hands gripped a struggling Saaniya Chaudhry and another guard held onto Sana, the house worker.

Awan suddenly looked horrified.

"Let me introduce you to these women. This is Saaniya Chaudhry, your dear sister. And this," He pointed towards Sana as she came forward and stood in front of Awan, bound and hurt.

"This is Sana. The woman who has been working in our house for a year, your most favourite worker, Aaina. The one who kidnapped my little girl and," He glared at Awan.

"Your so called lover."

Awan didn't know how Zaydaan had gathered all the information but he guessed that Alexander had been faking everything from day one. He didn't have an awake conscience all of a sudden. He was with Zaydaan all along.

"Since you used my family to get to me, I wanted to get my hands dirty as well." Zaydaan looked at Ahad, pulling out his hand.

"Ahad. Gun." Aaina looked at Zaydaan, shocked.

What?

"Bhai?" Ahad had only kept the gun for safety purposes. What the hell?

"Gun." Zaydaan insisted.

"Bhai, don't do this."

"Zaydaan!" Aaina exclaimed, trying to stop him.

What was he going to do? Become a murderer? Oh God.

"Don't interfere. Both of you."

The look that he gave to his brother and wife was enough to shut their mouths.

"Who is it going to be then?" Zaydaan asked, playing the game that Awan so badly wanted to play with the Prime Minister.

"Actually, let me tell you how I came to know about your little lover." He stretched the gun, toying around with it.

"Alexander here is not really a bodyguard. He is actually a well trained spy. He found out my wife's dear mother putting bugs all around our bedroom, he listened to all the conversations that you had with her mother, he also found out that Sana was the one reporting to you and sending you all those lovely voice messages, filled with how lonely you both were without one another. "

Aaina looked at Alexander with widened eyes.

"At the same time, he conspired with you. Fake conspired." He continued, chuckling as he saw the look on Awan's entire face.

He clearly was not expecting that.

"Granted, he didn't know that Zayla was a part of your plan but I am glad that he was the one to rescue her. Then, he might have kidnapped Saaniya from her wonderful spa day and Sana, she actually walked into the trap herself." Sana struggled against the ropes, trying to free herself but was completely unsuccessful.

"You thought that you could make yourself powerful by putting me under NAB custody? While you were plotting with Alexander, he was making all the necessary arrangements for me." Alexander gave a proud smirk to Awan.

I have your two million dollars and I am on the right side. What a fool you are.

He wanted to say, instead..he only pushed Saaniya Chaudhry in the middle.

"You are not going to be handed over to the police this time, Awan. You're going to be taken far away from this country, to a place where no one will know you and no one will care. You will live your remaining life in a dark cell, all alone." Zaydaan declared, knowing that police custody was way too easy for a man like Awan.

"And when you are there, you won't have any happy memories as well. Your last memory will be of the person you love, dying right in front of you." His eyes held a promise.

Aaina had not seen Zaydaan sound so scary. So deadly.

"So now, you can choose Awan. Lover or sister?" He pointed his gun at him, telling him to make a choice.

Awan gulped, looking at Saaniya and nodding. He knew he didn't have much choice anymore. All he could do was put faith in his sister.

"Leave Saaniya out of this." He warned.

The guard brought Sana forward and removed the cloth that was bound to her mouth.

"It seems so that he has already made a choice, Sana. And here you thought he loved you."

"Awan does not love anyone but himself." The Prime Minister finished, holding his gun up and pointing at the woman.

His hands didn't shake but Zaydaan knew that becoming a killer was not the path he would ever choose for himself.

"Please don't shoot me. Please, I beg you." Sana begged, her eyes showing the fear that any person would have before facing death.

Sana looked at Aaina, crying and begging.

"Aaina baji, please. I beg you." She sobbed.

Aaina gave her a disgusted look. If there was any person Aaina wanted to never see in her life other than Awan, it was Sana.

"Shame on you! I won't even spit on a you woman like you. Don't ask anything from me." She replied, looking away from the girl she absolutely adored at a time.

How could you do this to a little girl? How fucking crazy do you have to be to kidnap a three year old?

Aaina wanted her to suffer, wanted her to beg and cry but she didn't want Zaydaan to kill her.

She gulped, seeing the way Sana cried and yelled in desperation as Zaydaan loaded the gun.

"I am not a killer. Maybe I'll let you rot in a cell for the rest of my life." He toyed with her. He hated this woman. She had taken away his daughter, had fooled them for an entire year.

"I can give you what you want. I have everything!" Sana screamed out in desperation, taking out her phone from her pocket.

Zaydaan shrugged.

"Show me." Sana put the phone in the Prime Minister's hands, shaking as she moved back.

"This phone, my phone has all the details. How he planned to trap you, killed Maria bibi, how he used his sister against you, how he manipulated Aaina's mother, how he killed her father, I have his messages and calls and screenshots." She explained with hesitation, Zaydaan put the phone in his brother's hand.

"Ahad. Check."

Ahad opened the cell phone, looking at it with all the attention that he could muster up. Meanwhile, they all heard Awan yelling at Sana.

He was finally realising that he had lost.

And he was reacting to it. His cracks were showing. It felt satisfying to all of them.

"You bitch. I shouldn't have spared you a look and I shared a bed with you. This is how you repay me?" He yelled at her.

"I got you off the streets, made you capable enough to work here, even kissed your dirty mouth and this is what you do to me? I actually gave a fuck about you."

The way Awan talked to her, it was enough for Sana to understand that his love for her was never real. It was all a facade.

It had all started when Awan took a liking towards her at the brothel, claiming that she didn't need to see any other clients and he would take care of her.

And he did.

He bought her clothes, gave her money, spent time with her, loved her, kissed her, hugged her, made love to her, promised to marry her and even claimed that she would be his first lady.

He made Sana so dependent on him that she managed to do whatever he asked of her. She even agreed to be the Ziagil house maid and get close to the first lady, just to give him all the information he needed.

Awan did care about her in a fucked up way. He confided in her and he told her all that he held within him. She managed to love him despite his flaws, despite the monster within him..

Yet, he betrayed her today and in return, she betrayed him.

Maybe there was no love after all. Just pure need. Sana remained quiet as Awan yelled at her, wiping away her tears and begging Zaydaan for dear life.

Zaydaan managed to nod only when Ahad confirmed that the phone really had every bit of proof. They didn't exactly need any proof since Awan was going to be sent away but holding onto the proof of every evil he committed, it would come in handy some day.

The Prime Minister knew that Sana would not be let off so easy. She kidnapped his daughter. She would suffer. He pointed at his guard to take her away.

"You betraying whore." Awan yelled after her. Aaina couldn't help but speak up as she saw Sana being taken away.

"It's self preservation, Awan. You defined it for me that day, didn't you?" She reminded him of the time where he had talked about self preservation. Why was he being so mad about it today?

He was the most selfish person ever. It was only fair that people around him were selfish too.

"What can you give to us, Saaniya? We have enough proof to get you a life time of jail." Zaydaan asked the Chaudhry woman, loving the look of discomfort on her face.

This woman had betrayed his brother, played with him and tried to ruin his first ever gift to his wife. He loathed her to no ends.

"I am not stupid. I will never betray my brother." Saaniya replied, showing the very same arrogance that she had since the very first day.

Ahad couldn't help but step up at the same time as his brother.

"Loyalty can be a bitch at times, you bitch." He hissed.

"Shut up, Ahad."

"You shut up, Saaniya. You had an opportunity to create a life for yourself and you chose to be as evil as your brother. You deserve to rot in hell."

This was the woman who had broken his heart, the first woman to do so and even though all those scars had healed, her face still made him feel bitter and disgusted.

Saaniya Chaudhry shrugged herself off from Alexander as the man let her go himself, knowing that it was the Prime Minister's decision to do whatever he wanted to do with her.

She took a step in Zaydaan Ziagil's direction, giving him a smile. She turned her head to look at Ahad as Zaydaan put the gun to her head, pressing it against her forehead.

"Out of all the lies I told you, there was one truth. I never walk around without a weapon." One Moment Saaniya was looking at Ahad, in the other, she was in Zaydaan Ziagil's grip, one hand holding her arm and the other holding a gun to her head.

Saaniya still smiled, taking out something from her pocket.

"Pocket knife. But it can slit your throat very easily. And trust me, I won't hesitate." She warned.

Clearly, this woman was not afraid of death. She lifted the knife to Zaydaan's throat.

The Prime Minister showed no signs of worry.

"I have a gun pointed at your head." He reminded her.

"And I have a knife pointed at your throat. Let's see who is fast." Saaniya threatened.

Ahad knew that it wouldn't matter if any of them used their weapon first, it would end up hurting both of them.

"Saaniya." Aaina took the woman's name. She didn't want her husband to become a murderer, she didn't want him to get hurt either.

It was not a win win situation in any case.

"Don't you dare do anything, Saaniya." Aaina warned, glaring at the woman. She pointed at the guards, telling them to move behind Saaniya.

"Then come here and save your man." Saaniya replied, chuckling.

How did this woman not feel afraid of a gun pointed at her head?

"Aaina, stay there." Zaydaan instructed, eyes staring at his wife as he told her to not move at all.

He had this planned. He knew what was about to happen next.

"Yes, Aaina. Stay there, I'll just stab your husband." Saaniya taunted.

"She won't." Zaydaan replied, continuing.

"Aaina, don't take a step ahead. I have a plan, trust me." He spoke tenderly to her, as if he understood her conflict.

He understood that she was confused and worried but she had to put her faith in him. She had to.

Zaydaan looked at Waseem, telling him to take Awan down. At the same time, Alexander was ready to pull the trigger on Saaniya, Zaydaan would bend down in a moment and Saaniya would be on the floor.

Both the brother and sister would be injured enough but not dead. Then, he'll send them some place far away.

One minute Awan was on the floor injured and not moving, in the next, he was using Aaina as a human shield as Waseem shot at him.

As the bullet left the gun, Aaina let out a scream, finding herself being pulled against Awan.

Everything seemed to be in slow motion as blood splattered everywhere, the bullet wretching through Aaina's stomach.

Suddenly, Saaniya fell from Zaydaan's grip, blood rushing out of her body. Alexander pulled the trigger yet again, not focusing on Aaina's limp body on the floor but on Awan Chaudhry's chest.

Awan fell on the floor, right by the first Lady's side.

The gun fell from Zaydaan's hands as he found nothing but blood in his living room. The adrenaline pumping through him made him rush towards his wife.

He saw Aaina, on the floor.

Her eyes half closed, half open. Her body covered in blood and her face turning pale by the minute.

"Aaina." All Zaydaan could hear was the sound of his brother's screams as he called for a car, all he could see was his wife.

He sat on the floor, pulling her face onto his lap. He felt the tears of pain escaping her eyes but he didn't feel anything but numbness within him.

Today was supposed to be a day of victory for them. What the fuck had happened?

Aaina breathed out, her breath coming out short and fast.

"Aaina, stay with me. Hey, you open your eyes. Don't you dare close them." He warned, his voice felt like cracking.

No, it was cracking.

Aaina only looked up at him with those half opened eyes.

It hurts, Zaydaan.

I'm sorry. I should have listened to you. I should have stayed up.

I love you.

Please, save me. Help me. I'm in pain.

Save our baby. I want you to make everything okay. I'm sorry.

Please don't cry. Don't show those tears. I can't see them.

Aaina wanted to say all of that but all she felt inside was darkness and pain. She felt herself being lifted in her husband's arms and she cried out in pain, feeling her eyes close.

She didn't even know if Zaydaan knew he was crying, if he knew that his tears were on display, she didn't know if he knew that he had her face near his neck and he was just kissing her head over and over again, whispering sweet nothings into her ear.

"Ohkay, I love you. Please, Aaina." She heard him whisper yet again.

I love you.

I love you.

I love you.

"Don't worry, baby. Open your eyes, don't close them."

She wanted to open her eyes but closing them eradicated the pain, it got rid of it, she wanted to stare at his face but she felt so hurt, her body wanted to give up.

"I need you, alright? Stay with me."

Stay with me.

Stay with me.

Please, stay with me.
