@ARYNewsOfficial : Live on
Ba Khabar Sawera this morning first lady @AainaZaydaan and @AhadZiagil talk about false allegations, rumours and impact of it on their personal lives.
"I think it all came down to the impact of it. How long can you ignore it all? You know. I would have definitely ignored it but when my child was brought into this, I just thought I have had enough." She answered, still trying to hold a neutral look on her face.
The idea of doing media talks and presenting your truth sounded wonderful but talking about it live and answering the questions, it was awkward.
She had to admit that sitting with her brother in law on a couch and discussing how they didn't have an affair or a love child, it was even more awkward.
Still, she knew that her words would impact and influence people. It would be good for her, just as Zaydaan had assured to her.
She felt Ahad speak by her side.
"Absolutely. The fact that people can write anything they want just because of freedom of speech, it is truly daunting." He had a mug of tea in his hands, his face was relaxed but she knew he was just as awkward right now.
Sawera, the host of the program and Aaina's journalist friend..leaned a little forward, humming at their words.
Aaina had chose her program for the sole reason of not feeling awkward, but it didn't really help.
"And what is the plan to tackle this situation?" She asked next.
"Well, our lawyers are ready with their cases. The Prime Minister himself, my brother is taking the paper that published this article, to court, suing them for defamation, slander and alot more." Ahad affirmed, turning serious.
The kind of serious where his eyebrows would move and his forehead would get all frowned up.
"Meanwhile our lawyers here are going to drag Jahaaniya Khan to court, she publicly defamed me and my brother in law." Aaina said, she looked at the time on her watch. There was still an hour left for the court hearing.
"So that is the legal aspect of it. Acha agar hum zara sa personal chale jayein, I hope you both do not mind this. If its too personal, you can choose not to answer it, ofcourse."
"Minister Sahab, when you came to know about this whole propaganda, what was your reaction? What was your wife's reaction?"
Ahad let out a small smile, relaxing as he thought of Noora.
Noora, who had kissed her this morning and told her that she would love to have his baby, Noora had told him that the world could turn against him but she knew his reality, Noora who hugged Aaina and told her not to get worked about these stupid things even though they both knew that these things were not stupid at all. They were serious.
"Dekhein (look), Sawera..as a minister, as someone who is a part of the Prime Minister's cabinet, the routine is so busy. I leave home at nine in the morning and return at around ten or eleven. There is a very little amount of time that I get with my wife, with my family." He explained, both the women listened to him attentively.
"There is no place for misunderstandings in our family. We're all very busy individuals. Talking about my wife, she was just worried about me, about bhabhi. No woman would want her man to be in the middle of such a disgusting propaganda."
He elaborated himself, trying to sound true to himself. He did not want to sound like someone who was trying to explain himself too hard.
"And what about you, Aaina?" and Sawera asked her, she gulped.
"Sawera, we've known each other for years now. You know who I am, how I work and you also know the aspects of this society, of your work and of mine." She said to the host, who simply gave her a teasing smile.
"So you are going to dodge my question, haan?" She tried to lighten up the situation, Aaina let out a small chuckle, going back to answering.
"Nai, nai. I'll answer. Zaydaan bauhat supportive hain, wo jaante hain mujhe ofcourse. At the same time, unka ghussa bauhat jayiz hai. (Zaydaan is very supportive, he knows me. At the same time, his anger is also very justified) It's not just about me but also about our three year old daughter, it's also about his brother."
She explained.
Zaydaan had told her that the best part about her was that she spoke from the heart. She wanted to do just that.
"To me, it was shocking and disgusting. To him, this was the insult of his wife and his brother. He just told me that I could take whatever action I wanted to take in this regard. He kept checking up on me, knowing that I was upset.."
"Our entire family was very supportive in the past week." Ahad added, Aaina agreed with him.
Since Sawera was a journalist after all, she tried to get some more scoop.
"See, that's very surprising to me. Your entire family is filled with individuals who are so well known, you'd expect there to be some sort of rivalry, some sort of family issues but it feels like you're one tight group." She complimented, ready to get something out of it.
Maybe a reaction even. How did the family react to this news? Were they trusting towards you both?
Ahad understood her intentions very well. He gave a tight lipped smile.
"Well, we are a family. That really explains everything. We stick together." He stated.
"You say that you come home at eleven at night. That must be so hard, for you to get such little time with your wife?"
Were they here to talk about the hardships of his marriage? For fucks sake.
"Noora is a working woman herself, so she understands." He still replied, smiling.
"Yes but Noora comes home at five in the evening. Ofcourse it's hard on her." Aaina said next, trying to add a little more realism in his words.
Ahad looked at her.
"Bhai comes home late too." He commented.
"I didn't say it was easy." She replied with a chuckle, looking back at Sawera.
"So the Prime Minister comes home late then?" She quickly popped up the question.
"Well, you people are journalists aren't you? Don't you get the best scoops at midnight hmm? You think he sends messages from home?"
Right.
"Well, yeah." She murmured, awkwardly.
"But what little time we do spend together, it is very special. It's hard but it's life I've become way too accustomed to." Aaina finished for herself, hoping that the reaction of poeple would actually be good enough after this interview.
"Thank you, Minister Sahab. Thank you for being here, Aaina." Sawera thanked them both, turning towards the screen as the camera panned to her.
Ahad and Aaina stood up, getting help as their mics got taken off. Now, they had to rush to the court, individually.
"As you all heard, first lady Aaina Zaydaan and Railway Minister Ahad Ziagil deny all the false allegations them, calling it a hateful and disgusting propaganda. They have filed for cases of defamation in court and will not rest until the culprits are named and shamed. This will be all for today, we thank them both for being here on Ba Khabar Sawera this morning. Aap sab apna khayal rakhein, khuda hafiz. "

@AainaZaydaan : I was just a girl when I got married. With no real sense of the world and immaturity, I was suddenly in a whole new world, people around me were kind and generous but there was no one like me. My husband was as lovely as any man could possibly be to his wife but he was a man who was mature and I? I was just a girl. Then I met my husband's brother, he offered me food, told me that it will all eventually be okay and made me sit with him. We talked for hours and in a few weeks, we became best friends.
Our friendship has been stronger ever since that day. He has been my confidant, my friend and my brother at times. I categorically deny all the recent false allegations on me, on my friend and on my daughter.
A mother can handle everything, just not that her daughter gets involved in things that she can not even understand. Please refrain from spreading these false rumours and do not question my dignity.
Please respect your Prime Minister enough to respect his wife as well.
Thank you.
Aaina ZAYDAAN Ziagil.

"Good Morning, Mr Prime Minister. Do you swear to speak the utter truth in front of the court today?"
Prime Minister Zaydaan Ziagil, in his crisp suit and his very much cold stare, nodded at his own lawyer.
"Yes."
"Very well. Would you take us through the process? How did you come to know of Saaniya Chaudhry?"
"My wife went to meet her with my brother. She got attacked and in the process, I found out that Saaniya was dating my brother. That was the first time I heard about her." Zaydaan replied, looking at a very fake timid Saaniya, he gave her an icy stare before returning his eyes back on his lawyer.
"Did you ever meet Saaniya Chaudhry?" Hw questioned out loud.
"No. I did not." He denied.
His lawyer was asking all the questions that the opposition was supposed to ask, it was the best way to Bury them.
"Did you send your wife to meet Saaniya Chaudhry?" He questioned next.
Zaydaan nodded.
"Yes, I did." He agreed.
"Why did you?"
"She was betraying my brother. I wanted her to be confronted." He answered.
He had not lied about anything so far. Lying could only get a person to a certain point before they got caught.
"How did you get to know she was betraying him?"
Well, I found her naked pictures. She was lying on top of a man. Was that not enough?
"I got her investigated." He stated.
"Don't you think that is an invasion of privacy?"
Another question that Jahaaniya Khan cut off from her list, merely because Zaydaan's lawyer was asking all the questions that he wasn't supposed to ask.
"I am a Prime Minister. I am ruling a country here. I have enemies. I have to make sure that my family is protected at all times." Zaydaan replied, looking at his family.
Aaina. Ahad. Even Noora.
"Did you feel threatened by Saaniya?"
"She was the sister of my biggest political rival. I didn't expect anything good from her." Another honest response.
"So you asked your wife to threaten Saaniya bibi?"
"I asked my wife to confront her. There is a difference." He cleared it up.
"There are claims made that Saaniya met up with you on October 9 of that year, in your office. Later on, she also met you in the Parliament lodges."
Before he could even form a question the Prime Minister shook his head.
"I completely deny these claims. They are nothing but lies."
His lawyer, once again nodded.
"Why do you think you are being accused of harassment if you did not even meet the woman?" He interrogated.
Zaydaan smirked.
"Because politics is dirty and they are too filthy to play it right."
Azher Saleh just nodded, moving back.
"Thank you, Mr Prime Minister." He mumbled, sitting back on his designated seat.
"Your honor, I would like to ask the Prime Minister Sahab some questions." Jahaaniya Khan stood up, the judge allowed her to start her query.
With a frown on her face and eyes that clearly showed her current state of mind, Zaydaan was sure that his lawyer had shaken her just a bit.
But that did not matter.
They still had the recording.
"Prime Minister Sahab, with all due respect. You do not posses any proof of what really happened, apart from witnesses of your own office, ofcourse." She started off.
"In the last hearing, we had the first lady here and things have certainly changed for her in the media as she has to be answerable for what she has done."
Zaydaan turned his head just a bit little, eyes on his wife. Aaina gave him a small smile, telling him that she was okay. There had been so much slander under her name already that this Jahaaniya bitch and her words did not matter.
"What is your question?" Zaydaan enquired, asking her to come to the point.
"My question to you is that were you frustrated because your wife wasn't giving you attention and so you harassed Saaniya or was she so in love with your brother that she did not even care about you harassing someone?" She questioned.
You really think you did a number there? Boost my anger even further and I'll ruin your life with a flick of my hand.
He wanted to say, his lawyer stood up objecting.
"Objection, your honor! This is slander."
"It's not." Jahaaniya snapped.
The judge pointed the woman not to repeat those words again, giving her a warning. But Zaydaan, he still opened his mouth, giving her a response.
"I am as sure of my wife's honor as I am of my own. I did not meet Saaniya, let alone harass her." He stated, continuing.
"As a Prime Minister, my first duty is to be morally and ethically right. I am honest about what I do. This is why my people have elected me again and again, throwing the Chaudhrys into dust because of their mega corruption scandals."
He felt like he was in some jalsa of his party and was talking to his own people. He was. The journalists sitting there would report each and everything. It would be all over media in seconds.
"You are a woman. I respect the women of our country regardless of their choices. But have some shame." He suggested, seeing how Jahaaniya's face turned red.
Was it anger or embarrassment?
"Shame? Where did that shame go when you were harassing an innocent woman?" She accused.
He had to give her that. The woman had enough guts to argue back with him.
"Objection, your honor!" His lawyer stood up again.
The judge stopped Jahaaniya from any further questioning.
"I think we are done here. Right?" He murmured to her, getting off from the dice thing.
"Find a lawyer for your own self, Jahaaniya Khan. My wife is taking you to court." He warned her, walking back to his seat between Aaina and Ahad.
After Zaydaan got off, Jahaaniya stood up again.
"Your honor, we have had three witness agreeing that Saaniya bibi indeed met up with Prime Minister. What more proof is needed?"
Three sold witnesses with money that would pee their pants if they got asked complicated questions.
"Not only that but we also have a very big proof of what happened just a few days ago." She continued.
Aaina let out a sigh, closing her eyes.
The recording was given to the technical present in the court as he played it over a speaker.
Aaina's voice rang around the entire room, making her feel even more embarrassed.
She looked at Zaydaan with those eyes, as if apologising once again. He squeezed her hand tight.
As the recording ended, Jahaaniya and Saaniya both smiled at one another. Like witches.
"Your honor, this recording proves that we stand by the right. Zaydaan Ziagil did harass the woman or else Aaina bibi wouldn't have offered money." She stated, looking at Azher Saleh with a smug look on her face.
"Does defense have something to say about that?" She taunted.
Azher chuckled, standing up.
"Yes, I do."
"Your honor, what you saw was a recording that was edited out. It is false and we can prove it through logic." He replied, bluffing.
There wasn't any proof. Aaina had just been stupid that day.
"But, there is no point of proving anything. Because what we have, clears it all out." He announced.
The technical switched the button on, as a video got displayed on screen.
"We have a cctv recording that will prove that whatever Saaniya Chaudhry is claiming is just a figment of her imagination."
Utter silence filled the room.
Ahad Ziagil stood in the middle of a room, his back towards the camera placed on the top of the LED on the wall.
His voice sounded so broken, he sounded so broken.
"I did not want to come to you. But I could not resist. I tried to move on without any closure and maybe that was the reason why I could not actually move on." He talked.
The woman lifted her head up. It was Saaniya.
"Why did you do it Saaniya? I loved you. I trusted you and you betrayed me." He didn't ask it with any force, just with a soft question, asking for an answer.
"She's lying to you Ahad." Saaniya replied, as if she was bored.
"I have seen proof. Stop this fake acting of yours, please." He pleaded.
She nodded, shrugging as it saying that the truth would only hurt him.
"Fine. Okay. My brother has worked very hard and he is this close to reaching what he wants. If Zaydaan Ziagil lost what he had, my brother would gain all that he wants. I did it for my brother." She claimed.
"So you manipulated me into believing that you loved me. For what, haan? For this stupid power fantasy?" Ahad screamed at her, she let out a small laugh.
"We do things for the people we love. I love my brother." She insisted yet again.
"And I love mine. So the next time you try to harm him, you'll have me to get through. Tell that to your brother, Saaniya." He warned.
Saaniya rolled her eyes at his vulnerable sounding threat.
"Don't worry. I don't need to get close to your brother to harm him. I don't even plan on meeting him even once in my entire life, I'm not interested in his smug face. I said it once and I'll say it again, I'll be right there watching as your world goes up into flames."
Ahad Ziagil only moved away.
"Karma will come for you. You'll be alone and I'll be with the love of my life. Then you'll realise what you have lost." The voice came very low.
"We'll see. Goodbye, Ahad."
She waved him off. And Ahad, he felt shattered yet again.
As the video finished, all they could hear was Saaniya yelling out how this video was take, Azher Saleh showing more proofs and claims.
Jahaaniya tried to fight, tried to argue but the judge called off the session, sending all the videos and recordings to the forensics.
The court had yet to decided the judgement but they all knew who had actually won today.
The Prime Minister.
Zaydaan stood up, walking towards his lawyer to talk to him. Aaina looked at her best friend instead. She shot Noora a glance, who had her hand squeezed within Ahad's.
He seemed to be at turmoil but he did turn to look at Aaina.
"How did you find it out? You never told me."
Aaina had shown Zaydaan the cctv footage after three days of complete silence and misery. Sami bhai had helped her ofcourse, he felt so guilty for being the reason Zaydaan found out about Saaniya that he made sure Aaina got what she wanted.
No one knew that Ahad had actually called Saaniya one last time, except Aaina. Even after their breakup. He wanted to know why.
While Zaydaan had strictly removed all cctv footages from his farmhouse, since it was his personal space, Ahad Ziagil had not. His farm house was his safe place, he wanted to keep an eye on it. Always.
Searching for the footage for four hours had been exhausting but the end result had given her the one thing that could prove her husband's innocence.
"Sami bhai. He said that there were a few recordings of your farmhouse with the technical team. We had no proof about Saaniya meeting Zaydaan in his office because there are no cameras in the PM office. That wasn't the case with your farmhouse." Aaina answered, seeing how worried Noora looked.
She didn't look insecure that Ahad was having a moment, remembering how he had been betrayed by his former lover. She looked concerned for him.
"This was your most vulnerable moment. Thank you, Ahad." She whispered to him, knowing how much of a big deal it was to him.
"And I'm sorry that I got this video without even asking for your permission." She had taken his consent, ofcourse. But she hadn't asked him when she was trying to get the video.
"You did it for my brother." He replied without any hesitance.
"This was the only option we had. I wouldn't have done that to you, you know that." Aaina mumbled.
He turned around to look at his wife.
"Noora, I'm sorry. All I feel right now is regret that I even loved someone as disgusting as her." He told her, Aaina couldn't catch even half of what he had said, it was said in such a soft tone.
"Ahad, everything you did led us towards each other. Now come on, be happy. Zaydaan bhai is free, twitter is buzzing with the interview you both did this morning, its a good sign." She reassured.
Aaina looked over at her husband. He was still talking to his lawyer, his friend.
Ahad let out a small chuckle, getting Aaina's attention and Noora's confused stare.
"Atleast the world won't know me as the former fuckboy turned minister anymore." He said playfully to both the women, small laughs escaping their mouths.
Aaina leaned a little forward, feeling a little playful herself.
"Well, you are accused of fucking your bhabhi so.." She trailed off, he threw her a disgusting stare.
"Chutiya aurat." He mumbled.
Both Aaina and Noora burst into loud laughter, sighing out loud as the laughs died and all remained was content.
"Karma did come for her, hmm?" She questioned as they stood up to leave for home.
"I guess it did."
Ahad agreed, taking Noora's hand in his and leaving the court.
The first lady stayed, waiting for her husband who finally finished the entire conversation with the lawyer, turning his head back to his wife.
He walked back to her, smiling at the people around him and conversation with a few journalists off the record. She waited, still smiling at him.
Her eyes shone, he could see that. She was so relieved that the accusations against him were so slowly going away, almost forgetting the storm that she, herself was facing.
His hand found its way to the small of her back, as he guided her towards her car. She knew he had to go to his office.
"Are we still on for murree today?" Zaydaan nodded, finding Sami and Alexander standing near the first Lady's car.
"Yes. Pack my clothes?"
She nodded. Even though they were only going to stay for one night, Aaina knew that Zaydaan needed a suit, one shalwar kameez to wear at night and probably a spare dress pant and shirt. She also had to pack stuff for her daughter, who absolutely loved spilling things over herself as she insisted to eat on her own.
He reached her car, as Alexander opened the door for her.
"Thank you." He murmured to her, she smiled.
"For the video?" He nodded.
"You owe me one." She teased him, holding out her hand. "I need a gift."
Zaydaan Ziagil gave her a smug look. He felt so proud of his wife, not that he didn't feel proud of every day but she had gone out of her way to find this video, for his sake. He was truly lucky to have her.
"I already have a gift planned for you." He remarked.
Aaina stared at him.
"And what is that gift?"
He leaned down, his mouth near her ear.
"I'm going to put a baby in you tonight."
After they had decided to have a second child, they had been trying but Zaydaan would use protection or even pull out at times, telling her that things with them were messed up and complicated, more than usual. He wanted to make this baby when he had atleast put out one danger out of their lives. That had happened today.
The stone house in Murree was one of his most favourite places in the entire world, he loved his wife, he wanted to have a child with her. A mini Zayla, he wanted that.
And he knew he hadn't been able to give her any proper time in the past few weeks.
The morning quickies, the half asleep fucking, he knew she wanted more than that but wouldn't ever say it. Because she was happy with whatever he gave to her.
So he decided to give her the one thing she wanted the most from him.
His time.
And well, another baby.
