Soon it’s evening time and the oberoi mansion hall has again come to life with all the extravagant lights and decorations because it’s the chooda ceremony of anika….

The girl’s come down and anika is seated on a stool and in front of her is kept her wedding chooda dipped in milk and rose petals…

anika’s chooda

priest: ladki ka mama aage aake ladki ko chooda pehnaye ( the bride’s maternal uncle should step up and complete this ceremony)
garima: pandit ji…anika ka koi mama nhn hai…kya yeh rasam koi our nhn kar sakta ( priest!! The bride doesn’t have a maternal uncle; can somebody else do this ceremony??)

priest: koi baat nhn…ladki ki taraf se koi bhi aadmi iss rasam ko karde…(No worries!! any male member from the bride’s side can do it then)
garima: theek hai pandit ji…ashok kardenge yeh rasam ( ok priest…My husband ashes will do it then)

ashok comes forward and carefully takes out the bangles from the milk and slide it onto anika’s hands and bless her to always stay happy….to always be as lively as these bangles…To always spread happiness and colour like these bangles…..Soon enough all the bangles are in anika’s hands

priest: ab yeh kapda yap choodiyon ke upar baandh dijiye aur dhyaan rakhiye ki isse sirf haldi ke baad he kholen…( Ok now cover these bangles with this cloth and don’t open it before haldi ceremony)…

gauri: ( excitedly) pandit ji kya aap sta sakte hain ki yeh kapda baandhna oyun zaroori hai inn choodiyon ke upar ( Priest!! can you please tell me the importance of covering the bangles with this cloth)

priest ( smilingly) : beta!! chooda shaadi ka ek bahut he important part hai…Yeh shaadi main khushiyaan late hai…Ek aurat ki pragati main madad karta hai… aur ek hone waali dulhan ka ese shari se pehle dekhna shubh nhn maana jaata isiliye choode ko hum ek kapade se cover kar dete hain… (it strengthens the bond between a couple. Chooda is believed to bring good fortune in bride’s life .It is also affiliated with the symbol of fertility and prosperity for the bride. A bride is prohibited to watch chuda till the wedding ceremony as it is termed inauspicious and therefore is covered by white cloth.)

aur ek ladki ko isse 41 days tak pehnna padta hai..samjhi?? ( And a girl has to wear it for 41 days…Understood)

gauri: ( all smiles) JI pandit ji!! shukriya… ( thank you priest…i understood)

pandit: chaliye ab kaleeren ahi laga deejiye choode ke saath… ( now attach those strings with the bangles)
kaleeren ladki ki behene lagati hain…So gauri and bhavya step in front and go and do as told… (these are to be tied by the bride’s sisters’)

pinky: anika puttar!! ab tu poore ghar main ghoom aur apne haathon ko kuwari ladkiyon ke sar par hilaa….jiske upar phi tere kaleeren girengi uski shaadi algi hogi…. ( anika dear!! Now go around the house and shake your hands over the heads of the unmarried girls….The girl on whose head the kaleeren falls will be the next to get married)

all the girls sit down in the hall and anika comes and shakes her hands over their heads…The kaleeren falls over bhavya and gauri. Seeing this anika hugs the two if them and teasingly says: lagta hai kisi ko bahut jaldi hai shaadi ki…. ( looks like somebody is too eager to be married off).. Garima comes there and is so emotional seeing that ….Gauri and bhavya get up and hug garima tightly..Anika joins in too..
gauri : ( emotionally) aap chinta mat karo maasi main nhn jaane waali aapko chod ke..muje nhn karni hai scadi waadi.. ( Don’t worry aunt; i’m not going to leave you ever..I don’t want to get married at all)
Bhavya: haan ma hume bhi aapko chaud ke kahin nhn jaana hai…hum bhi nhn karende shaadi…gauri aur hum aapke aur papa ke saat he rahenge humesha…tur anika di ahi humse milne aaya karengi.... ( Yes mom even i don’t want to get married and leave you…Gauri and i will always stay with you and dad; also anika di will come nd visit us right)

garima (wiping away her tears): arreey!! meri pagal bachiyon…ek na ek din to har ladki ko shaadi karni he hoti hai…Agar ladkiyan shaadi karke apne maa baap ko chod kar non jaengi toh apne pati ke ghar main roshni krise laayengi?? yehi humare jeevan ke niyam hain…sur yehi hota aa raha hai…ab dekho agar meri shaadi non hoti toh bhavya kaise aati...aur agar mere di and jiju ki shaadi na hoti toh muse meri piyaari anika pur gauri kaise milti haan?? ( Oh my mad dearies!!! one day a girl has to get married…If the girls don’t get married and leave their parents’ house to go to their husband’s home then how will their husband’s home prosper…?? This is a general rule of this universe and we all have to follow this… Look..had i not married your dad how would you have come bhavya..similarly had my sister not married my BIL how would have i got anika and gauri)

Gauri: ( accepting defeat): chalo theek hai maanli aanpki baat…par abhi rona toh band kijiye…meri di ka function kharab ho raha hai..dekho na ( ok fine i accept your decision but please stop crying for it is ruining  my sister’s function)

Garima: haan haan theek hai di ki poonch ( yes fine di’s tail…always thinks about di only)
gauri: kyun nhn?? aakhir di hai meri?? pur unki shaadi main sabko khish hona chaheye…takin unhe siri good memories mile…bad waali nhn.. ( y not?? After all she is my sister..And everyone should be just happy in her wedding…She should get only get only good memories from all her functions…No sad memories please)

garima: kya höga tera teri di ke bina… ( what will happen to you without your di)
gauri: pta nhn maasi…shayad isiliye di ko muse milne aana padega bahut jaldi jaldi...( i don’t know…That is why di has to come and meet me often) and gets a little emotional….

anika comes and hugs her and sings and dances around her

Everyone is happy seeing the sisters’ bond....

Daadi’s POV
inn behno ka rishta bhi bilkul mere shivomru ke rishta jais he hai…Kaash bhagwan kuch aisa mel mila de ki anika ki tarah gauri aur bhavya bhi iss ghar ki bahuyen ban jaayen…mere omru ke liye gauri aur bhavya se achi kudiyaan toh koi ho he nhn sakti hain… ek dum saaf dil ki bachiyan hain…. ( their sisters’ bond is just like my shivomru’s bond….I pray to god to somehow make gauri and bhavya the DILs’ of this house as he has done with anika…. There can’t be any better girls than gauri and bhavya for my Omru… They are clean hearted girls)

soon everyone calls its a day and go to their room to sleep as they have haldi tomorrow morning….

Next morning, there is hustle and bustle going on in the garden are of the oberoi mansion for SHIVIKA haldi…The garden area has been divided by a cloth partition for the bride and the groom….

Decoration for the Haldi

The girl gang comes down,

All the guests are in aww looking at the girls and the boys..whereas our boys are busy checking out their respective girls…. Anika is checking out shivay while gauri and bhavya are busy getting photographed with the props….

daadi: haaye kitne sone lag rahe hain spare bache! kisi ki bhi nazar na lage…( All my kids look lovely….may god protect them from evil)

Pinky and garima bring the haldi bowls each and take it to their respective sides…

soon enough, the bride and the groom are made to sit on their special seats for the ceremony to begin…

Shivay’s side
daadi being the eldest comes in first to apply haldi….followed by jhanvi and finally pinky comes to apply haldi….

pinky: kisi ki nazar na lage mere bache ko…Hamesha khush rahe aur jaldi jaldi muje daadi bana de…. ( may god protect my child from evil; may he always stay hearty and healthy; And may i get a grandchild soon)…..shivay blushes at pinki’s demand when rudra joins in

rudra: ( teasing) haan bhaiya!! jaldi ek bacha aa jaye ghar main; aur muje hot chachu ka promotion mil jaaye; sabse chota hoke thak gaya hun main…. ( yes bro….I pray to get a kid soon in our house so that i get promoted to being a hot uncle…I am tired of being the youngest member in the house)

Shivay: shut up rudra…abhi shaadi hui ihn hai aur tum dekho kahan tak pahunch gye ho ( You are planning way ahead..we aren’t even married yet)

soon omkara and rudra’s turn comes to apply haldi and then begins the haldi holi on the groom’s side

Anika’s side

Garima starts the ceremony by applying the haldi paste to anika’s face….

garima: ( emotionally) bache aaj teri shaadi hai…Tu hamesha khush rahe sur jahan bli jaaye bus khushiyan he khushiyan bichaaye…( dear today is your wedding; i just wish that you always stay happy and keep spreading happiness wherever you go)

dekhna iss haldi se kitna nikhaar aayega tere sundar se chehre pe…sabse sundar dulhan lagegi meri bachi aaj ( this turmeric paste will give you a very beautiful glow on your face today…..You will be the prettiest bride )

gauri: ( applying the haldi) woh toh hai….aakhir di kiski hai…bhavya butts in says meri ( That is sure after all whose sister is she…and bhavya says mine)

everyone bursts out laughing and soon they also join in to play the haldi holi…

Rudra being the naughty one throws some haldi on bhavya …who in turn aims at rudra but it falls on omkara…Same thing happens with omkara…He ends up throwing it at gauri….Gauri being gauri runs behind om with a full bowl of haldi…..gauri keeps chasing omkara….and unknowingly they get inside his room still chasing each other…Omkara hits his leg with the end of the bed post resulting in a fall..and gauri taking advantage of that covers him fully with the turmeric paste…and gets up to leave when omkara hold her and twirls her that leads to her falling with her head on om’s chest…Omkara then applies some leftover turmeric from the bowl on gauri’s face making her blush…
