Back to present :
Shehnaaz closed herself in the toilet of her college. She lied to Paayal that she was going to meet Sumit sir, as they reached their class. She didn't wanted anyone to see her tears. She had never shown it to anyone, expect the one person. She sobbed quietly.
Why did she fall for this man?? Even now, why it was difficult for her to forget him? She hates him, no.. She wanted to hate him to the core, but she failed every time. She can never forgive him, but that gave her more pain than anything else.
She had seen Sidharth from her 2nd standard. Though he was just in 4th class, he was more mature than his age. He always took care of Prayag and his friends, also he took care of her. She didn't realize when her liking for Sidharth as her brother's best friend turned to a feeling that she wanted to cherish through out her life.
When she turned 14, she felt shy around him. The bindass girl in front of others seemed to be quiet and obey him without any problem. Even Prayag was surprised, how she gave Sidharth her water bottle with in a second of his request. Normally, she makes everyone feel like she is the boss and never shared her personal belongings.
From that day, she noticed her change in behavior with Sidharth. She didn't knew to name it. She thought that it was just because of her age. She started to avoid all the awkward moments with him from that day. She acted like she was extra bossy with him.
But, how could someone be bossy over such a sweet person?
He was the dream boy of their school. The Mr. Perfect. The class topper, best singer, best actor and best football player. Especially, there wasn't any complaints about him. He was the favorite of every students and teachers. There wasn't any doubts on why girls always chose him.
But, he was different. He never cared about the female attention. He talked to every girl respectfully. Even when girls tried to hit on him, he avoided it. The only girl, if he was friends with was just Shehnaaz, since she was the sister of Prayag.
Shehnaaz wiped her tears and came out of the toilet. She stood in front of the mirror after splashing some water on her face.
What had changed over the past 2 years? The Sidharth, she knew wasn't same on that day. She didn't wanted to recall that. The pain was still pinching in her heart.
She walked out of the washroom to only to meet with two worried eyes. They were checking on her face, her red wet eyes, her red cheeks and nose indicated that she was crying. He just stood there. This was happening for past few years.
He started to walk closer to her, but the intense glare on him made him stop there itself. He wanted to speak, but his throat seemed to betray him. It wasn't opening,it was like a hard rock. He swallowed a little saliva to make it melt.
She couldn't stand there for a second more. She ran to her class without looking back. He raised his hand to hold on her's, but she had gone before he could catch her.
..........
Flash back continues:
Shehnaaz ran into her room and closed the door. She was grinning throughout. She controlled it on the way back to home, but couldn't hold more. She sat on the chair in front of her study table and switched on the table lamp.
She kept the dairy milk under the lamp light. It was glowing as her eyes were glowing. It was the biggest dairy milk she had seen in her life. She used to annoy her father to get it, but never got.
She slowly caressed it. It was the first gift, she got from him. Of course he had brought chocolates for them a lot of times. Even his mother used to send it for them, especially for her as she was the only girl about he talked to her.
But, this was different, he hided the chocolate from others. So it meant only for her, a special gift. She blushed continually thinking about being special in his life, for which the divas in her school were fighting. She giggled at it.
Sana, darvasa khol... Kya kar rahi hei tu andar. Aaja, khana khate hei.. I'm too hungry!!!
Prayag shouted from the other side of the door, while knocking on it.
Haa.. Bass aa rahi hu.
She kept the chocolate inside her drawer and went out with a fake smile.
Sach sach bata, kya kar rahi dhi tu andar??
Prayag peeped into her room.
Shehnaaz dragged him out and made an annoyed face.
Kuch bhi karu!! Tujhe kya??
Bhai hu!! Tu tho bass shakal se hi ladki dikti hei, saara kaand ladkom wali karti hei.. Isiliye doubt hei tujhpe.. Koi cigarettes or drinks tho nhi hei na andar.
He loved to tease her, even knowing that he will get beaten up by her.
Mamaaaa.. Leke jaa apki puthar ko... Nhi tho meim isse yahi maar daalungi!!!
Shehnaaz ran behind Prayag who was laughing throughout.
..
Sidharth was a pampered child. As he came back home, his mother fed him his favorite food and listened to his talks. She laughed as he narrated about how Shehnaaz scolded a little girl in the play ground.
After spending a quality time with his mother, he came to his room and lied on the bed with a smile. At last, he was able to give her a gift. He walked towards the drawer and opened the last row. It had a lot of colourful pens, chocolates, dolls, toys, everything a 17 year old can collect with his pocket money. Even he was a son of a rich businessman, they have never made him feel like that. They wanted their son to know the value of everything in his life. Also, Sidharth was best at it. He never craved for luxuries in his life. Most of the time, he felt that the pocket money he got every month wasn't necessary, as his parents always took care of his needs.
He just brought chocolates and chips for his friends and given money to the needy. The only thing he mostly used spend money on was for gifts, for her.
He had seen all types of girls in his school, who were trying to be friends with him just seeing his success. But, never saw someone like her. She was always like never cared about anything. When everyone tried to please him, she was the one who ordered to him. And he loved to obey her.
Slowly he felt a little change in her. The thing was, she was obeying him, who never obeyed anyone in her life. He had seen how bossy she was with her parents and how they enjoyed it. Actually, she was the son of their family and Prayag too seemed to be scared of her. He laughed at his thoughts.
For months, he was buying gifts for her, but never dared to face the queen. He was sure that she will bash him. But last day, the way she said to her friend that he wasn't like her brother, gave him a ray of hope.
Even if he didn't had the courage to give her the chocolate when they reached his car, but her smile when she turned back at him, made him do that. He saw how excited she was, when she took the chocolate. Especially, the sight of she hided it from others gave goosebumps in his stomach.
Both lied on their beds and gazed at ceiling with a smile waiting for tomorrow.
