Chapter 17: The King's Declaration!

"Rangers! Listen up!" Cruger's strong voice filled the room and he stared at the five, including the Omega Ranger. With his arms against his back, his slow steps brought him in front of the group and a calculative hum escaped. "I decided to wait until you were done with the fight against Mirloc. Now-- I believe it's time," He began and closed his eyes to ponder the right words. "None of us have encountered such power before. Commander Birdie warned us of the potential destruction that a Cerebral could cause," His statement was enough to make everyone speak in unison, trying to overrun each other to get their opinions of the fight across. Cruger's ears picked up the faint clacks of Manx's shoes and looked over at her.

"Forgive me, Commander," The nod she received from the dog and an approving hum, gave her permission to speak. "Everyone? She isn't your typical Cerebral. As you may know, this woman can be dangerous to others around her. When I saw her, we had to do an emergency lock-down to protect the station from debris that could harm it. Even as we know it, that part of the city is being reconstructed. I looked more into Cerebrals when I messaged Commander Birdie for more information, and it turns out, they go through a particular phase that unlocks their full potential. When the phase is underway, it's a clear indication that they're Royal," Explained the cat. Seriousness reflected in her green eyes when she stared at the confused Rangers.

"Thank you, Kat," From the side, Doggie nodded and watched her step away for a moment. "Sam warned us of the destruction. However, unlike in his time when this woman severely damaged SPD, some phenomenon prevented it from happening in ours. We all know that Emperor Gruumm was behind this after all this time, which would explain her unstable mind and lack of trust. I bore witness to it. She has terrible anxiety and if it becomes too much, she loses control of her power. When I approached her in her cell, I heard her thoughts after she looked me in the eyes. I heard everything..." A momentary pause filled the room and closed his gaze to ponder the past meeting. "She's just afraid of hurting others. Afraid of bloodshed, which she caused in the city. Unlike Commander Birdie, I don't see her as a Monster, but more of a very confused individual who needs our help. Everyone heard her thoughts during that event," Sympathy filled his heart, knowing that a woman lived in fear and hid the best she could from society. He could still hear her begging and crying from the pain she felt, saying she couldn't stop. Pleading for someone to kill her or knock her out.

Everyone in the room grew silent, but they knew nothing could've been done to subdue the woman let alone save her from Gruumm.

"Sir, if I may?" Jack stepped forward, to which the dog saw, and nodded for him to continue. "After the fight with Mirloc... My friends and I both saw an alien fly through the air on a strange staff. The guy wore black and spiky armor. It was hard to tell what he was wearing from the speed he flew at," Just as stern as the others, Cruger's eyes narrowed at the Red Ranger's words.

"A strange staff, you say?" Caution laced his voice, as his fingers touched his chin in thought and looked to the feline next to him. "Kat, do you know of anyone that can fly on a staff? I'm afraid that tiny bit of information is hardly enough to go on," The glance he gave her allowed him to see her step over to her computer.

"No, sir," Her fingers worked the keys. She did her best to look through hover weapons but she couldn't find anything relating to a staff.

"Wait! I saw a tail!" Bridge, whom Cruger saw run around Jack with a lift of his finger, stopped in front of him and continued. "It looked like a tail you'd see on a lizard sort of? O- Or maybe a dragon?" His hands made gestures from behind where the tail was and lifted a confused brow.

"A Gazin?!" The whole room boomed with the Commander's voice. His eyes were as wide as softballs, as his hands fell to his sides. Taken aback by that tiny bit of information, he knew right away who they were. Impossible... Why would a Gazin be on Earth?! They keep to themselves! They stay hidden and avoid battles not of their own! What could a Gazin possibly want, to be here on Earth other than... For once, devastation made the blue dog turn paler than his original color.

"Sir?" Kat leaned over to look at his face after she walked back to all of them, to which Cruger saw and whipped his large head to her.

"Kat! Locate that Gazin immediately! Something's not right! No Gazin would be willing to leave their planet for any particular reason unless they need some sort of resource or to trade minor supplies! Naturally, they would send a heads-up before their visit!" The point of his finger toward her computer made her sprint back to it.

"Yes, Sir! I'm on it!" He heard her fingers clack against the keys and answer him.

Back to the Rangers, worry began to show on his face the more he pondered the situation. "It's far too much of a coincidence for a Gazin and a Cerebral to be in one place at once. Rangers!" Straightening up, he watched them do the same awaiting his orders. "A Gazin warrior is stealthy in terms of combat! If you come across them, be weary of their skills! They're not friendly by any means unless they're trading, so whatever they're up to cannot be good! Especially for one to be away from their home planet! Do not engage in combat unless it's necessary!" Sheer concern over his Rangers flooded his mind and the mystery the Gazin carried.

"Yes, Sir!" Their salute, straightened posture, and stern faces, told him that they understood.

"Dismissed!" From a strong tone, he gave his order. His dark eyes watched them leave the Command Center and quickly he moved to his chair to sit. He needed a breather, to take a minute and think why one of their kind decided to go outside of their home.

Once they left, Kat brought up a recording on her computer to try and decipher its message. She kept it on repeat, over and over it played.

When the dog heard the voices, he left his seat. He stepped closer to her to see the commotion and heard them get cut off each time the man on the video said 'They're not the'.

"They're not the-- what?" Confused, her brows knitted, which Doggie didn't see as he walked around her.

"We have to be prepared for the worst. Are the new upgrades ready?" With the Gazin visitor on his mind, having something else cloud him didn't help with the stress.

"Not yet," He heard from her, just to growl irritably at her lack of effort. "I'm doing the best I can!" As if on cue, whirling around to face her, he did his best to hide his anger.

"Double your efforts. With the Gazin visitor here and now this video, we can't waste any more time dawdling around," Explained the Commander, before he walked away to leave the cat to herself.

Through the halls and past many employees who would glance at him on occasion, he made his way to the Ranger's lounge room. Relentless arguments made his ears perk up and a low disappointed growl rumbled from his throat. They're fighting again, aren't they? Purely annoyed he was. When he turned and walked through their door, he saw the girls bicker and two of the guys spar.

"Enough! I can hear you from Kat's lab!" Strong and clear he barked. Only to earn a comment from Z who seemed rather confused.

"You can hear us all the way from there?" With the Yellow Ranger asking, Bridge chimed in with his two cents.

"Well of course he can, he's got these super dog ears that can--" He immediately quit speaking the second he heard their Commander growl and froze.

"Your petty bickering has been a problem all year. I thought you resolved it by now. I see I was wrong," Examining everyone, disappointment was the understatement of the day, and their sudden need to overrun each other as they tried to explain proved his point more.

"Lord Gruumm! I can explain!" With hands up in defense, Broodwing was stepping away as the Emperor approached.

The staff in his hand glowed bright along with his eyes, the bat's life on the line. A gut feeling kept telling him he was scheming. "Explain? You have an explanation, as to why the Power Rangers defeat everything I graciously overpay you for?" He wasn't in the mood to be messed with. Feige had been taken and now his nerves were worse for wear, if anything he wanted to vaporize the winged creature then and there. With Feige gone, his trust in Broodwing wavering, every fight against the Rangers failing, and the Gazin King's words before he took her, everything was weighing on his mind.

"No, ah--" He watched the bat stumble over his words.

"Morgana!" As soon as he said that, he heard the childish woman step forward and speak.

"My lord, I just received word that the installation on Gamma 4 has been eliminated as ordered," The smile he saw when he looked at her for a second, proved her confidence, and quickly returned his attention to the bat.

"Excellent. At least someone, knows how to take orders," His staff was pulled back to him, making the glow fade and the clench of his fist tighten to his side. "Bring Piggy to me..." He demanded before he averted his eyes to ponder. "While you do that-- I'm going to pay that Gazin King a visit on his ship!" Fury made his rubies glint for a second, for he couldn't imagine what the King had done to her by now. The mere thought cranked on his nerves more than moments ago.

"Of course, Emperor," Morgana knew not to question it. Someone had challenged the leader of the Troobian Empire, so she knew it'd be foolish to say anything about it; quickly she turned and left.

However, he brushed past her with fast strides out of the room and headed for his Arsenal chambers. He wasted no time because any more delays could be severe. Almost in a sprint, he made his way through the halls, past a few doorways, and straight into the room with his shield.

The cape he donned was clipped off and hung up, while he grabbed his shield off of the rack. This time he grabbed a silver ball of Crybots. They came in various sizes, the smaller ones had ten while the bigger ones had twenty. He didn't think twice before grabbing the larger one and picking up an orange-head robot container.

"Feige. I'm coming. No one... Gets away, with taking what belongs to me!" Roaring throughout the room he marched over to his teleporter and searched for the main Gazin Ship, that most likely hovered close to Earth.

It didn't take long to find it, for a zap of the teleporter made him disappear within seconds.

Violet eyes slowly opened, groggy by the hit she received after they boarded Atsuon's ship. Glossy black floors reflected her bright hues, when her head lifted she saw nothing but neon blue pulsating lines in the walls and black metal that shimmered just as much as the floors did.

Many unarmored Gazins roamed about the Bridge of the Ship, to which she examined and spotted the King himself in front of a navigational unit. Clad in his black and spiky gear, his clawed armored hands hovered over either side of a blue orb. In front of him was Outer Space and its many stars flew past the large window that stretched to both ends of the wall.

The Bridge to the ship was massive. Reptilian faces reflected the lights off of their scales, from holographic screens that they touched. Their natural language was foreign to her ears and it confused her, nonetheless, the strange environment made her heart race.

In and out through her nose, she breathed. Finally, she noticed how high above the floor she was, strapped to her were industrial chains that she tried to wiggle free from. Subtle kicks of her feet made the metal around her clink and rattle, to know she was bound made her anxiety spike more.

"Calm yourself... You are in no danger," Her head perked up at the familiar voice far across from her. She was in the far corner of the room, in the shadows, and when she saw his head gradually look at her it made her breath hitch. "I bound you for your own safety. We left Earth's orbit not too long ago. If you remain calm, I will release you," Back to the window, Feige watched his head turn and didn't even bother to approach her.

Oh, thank the lord he's not coming over! I need to get out of here! I- If I agree to stay calm, he'll set me free... Then I could use that chance to run! Several deep breaths, she took, to try and steel her nerves. The second she saw him glance at her, the brunette nodded in agreement and heard a pleased chuckle escape.

"Good," In the air, with one hand, he gestured for one of his crew to tend to her and didn't bother to look to see who did.

Her eyes averted from a pair of yellow slits when a soldier stepped closer to her and used his telekinetic power to lift a device. A small condensed beam stretched out of a knife hilt, floated above her, and the next thing she knew she felt herself fall.

If it wasn't for the strong hands of the soldier, she would've hit the hard floor. Carefully she was placed and was soon ignored when the soldier returned to his post. The sound of chains clanked together when she pressed her back further against the wall, nearly tripping in the process.

"Don't mind my crew. They do as they're ordered, without questions," Her eyes never left his tall form. His height could easily tower over Gruumm by several inches, stopping close to seven feet.

I have to wait for it! T- There are too many Gazins in this room to make a break for it! Think... Feige-- Think! Wh- What would Gruumm do in this situation?! What would he do if he was captured like this?! Would he fight?! Would he barrel through everyone and run?! Panic filled her mind the more she thought about her best friend. I wished I could have his kind of backbone, I feel so helpless right now! With her hands, she covered her face and slid herself down the wall so she could sit.

"Stand up a moment... No bride of mine should have to sit on the floor," Between her fingers she watched him tilt his head toward her and lifted a finger. Gesturing for one of his crew to bring her a seat.

"I- I'm... Not your Bride," Mumbling out, a thick gulp of saliva was swallowed when she stood up and gave the King a hard stare. Her words came out more wobbly than she hoped for, but they held a small spark that caught his attention.

"No... You may not be, right now. But you will be-- soon. Feige is such a lovely name. Feige... Queen of the Gazins and the wife of King Atsuon... It has a pleasing ring to it," Unease made her eyes widen when he said that. Seeing his fingers move and summon forth a holographic screen, a simple touch made the ship fly on its own. Far behind him, she spotted one of the Gazins holding a strange chair, most likely waiting for his King to tell him where to place it.

Auto-pilot? Oh no... Her limbs began to shake at the realization, that he was going to approach her and she was correct. She watched his slow steps leave the orb and make his way toward her. The same finger was used to press a button on the side of his helmet and when he did, she saw the piece of armor move about and fold up under a metal band on top of his head.

Blue eyes, slits, a lizard-like face much like the rest of his crew, a grin curved up the closer he got. I'm supposed to kiss that?! A chill went down her spine at the mere thought, it made her want to shrink further in the corner but her attempt failed and resulted in her stepping along the side of the wall.

Just when she was about to bolt for it, she felt his hand grab her around the waist and reel her back. It was instinctive to whip herself around and raise her hand, to smack him upside his reptilian jaw. Gasping, she managed to hit him, but it didn't seem to have done anything since he curiously stared at her.

Not even his crew perked up from the sound that echoed through the room. "D- Don't come any closer," She was devastated, there was no way she would be able to fight him hand-to-hand. With a few steps backward, she planned to run for it again but didn't have time to turn, since he grabbed her wrist. "L- Let go!" Over and over she yanked to try and get out of his grip. This time, he moved so quickly that she didn't have time to register what happened.

Against the wall, her wrist was pinned and his reptilian head leaned closer to her face. "I see you've grown a bit of fight in you. It won't matter anyway... You will be--" He was cut short when he heard his crew in the halls cry in fear. Pausing, leaving a clawed, armored finger under her chin, she watched his head turn to the entrance.

His scaly hide was just as dark as his armor, the color of Midnight. Even the horns that protruded from the sides of his head glistened from the neon blue lights. "I smell a Troobian," A displeased hiss and a flick of his lengthy tail, told Feige that he wasn't happy.

Regardless of the situation, he didn't let go of her. Instead, he kept his slits focused on the automated doors that opened and closed each time one of his soldiers would run by. The sounds of Crybots battling it out against the Gazins, indigo lightning shot through the hall when they saw the doors hiss open.

An orange-head robot barged through, leaped, and tackled one of the other soldiers. Still, he didn't move, however, the second Gruumm stepped into the Bridge the brunette's wrist was released.

"Gruumm!" As soon as she tried to run to him, she was caught by Atsuon's grip again and was held back with one hand.

No words were wasted when Gruumm roared out and charged after the King. With a mighty leap, he lunged and brought down his Ax staff. It was pretty quick when he saw the Trident on his enemy's back whirl about and block his strike. "I'll make sure that not even your remains will exist, by the time I'm done!" Throughout the room, his voice boomed and his fury glowed through his rubies.

"Make that a promise, you Troobian coward! However-- I commend you... For at least removing your lazy butt from your chair," A skillful flip of his Trident smacked Gruumm's staff away, but at that moment, the Emperor saw Feige lunge at the King from behind.

Her scream when she did that, caught them both by surprise, Grimly even more so when he saw her small fist pound on the top of Atsuon's head. "Leave him alone!" With her bare teeth, she bit down on one of the King's horns, to which he responded with a jerk of his shoulder and threw her off.

To hear her pained grunt angered Gruumm more, for he jumped back, pointed his staff, and shot out a blast of electricity.

Atsuon spent no time to check if Feige was okay, he spun his Trident around and caught the electricity with its head. Swiftly the lightning was redirected and shot to the side and like last time, the button from before was pressed to cover his head in armor again.

"You are a coward in many ways... Gruumm! To fight me alone is suicide, dishonorable! In numbers, would be a challenge. But to win over a female-- it will be a battle to the death! Meet me on Earth! We will see who deserves such a female! The cowardly Emperor Gruumm who hides behind an army, or King Atsuon who reigns over others with his own power and skills! This is the last time I'll challenge you! Because if you don't heed my declaration... I'll see to it that Feige is no longer within your reach!" From a metallic pocket, out came a black cube with cybernetic blue lines. His hand made it float and spin in various ways above his palm.

"Fine! A much larger clearing would be preferable, so I can vaporize every molecule in your body!" Gruumm's fury never ceased, but that didn't stop him from running to Feige and picking her up with one arm. Over his shoulder, he plopped her, kept his staff pointed at Atsuon, and let his robots continue their fight as he retreated.

I can't let my weapon get damaged during our fight! I'd prefer a nice wide open space that won't limit us! I'm going to tear him apart... As long as those pesky Rangers don't get in my way! Fumed the Emperor as he strode down the halls and left Atsuon on the Bridge to ponder.

He was certainly grateful that the brunette didn't thrash or complain about the ride she was given. It made it easier to walk since his hands were full and had to use his staff to zap at some Gazins that tried to attack him. One or two may or may not have been vaporized in the process during his trek to the teleporter.

In the Monitoring Room, Feige was placed next to a skeletal chair that he moved in front of his computer. Sitting down, with his forearms over his knees, his shield was put back in his Arsenal room before they arrived at the one they were in.

She saw it, a distant, furious glint in his red rubies when she remained on the floor. However, the pain when she was thrown by the King and the punctures she received from his armored claws earlier, returned. Her body couldn't relax, and tears began to blind her view of her best friend. I-- I can't cry... N- Not like this! I need to be strong. Even though she urged herself to hold back her tears, everything crashed down on her like a ten-ton weight.

To be captured by an alien King, always afraid of what he'd do, the chills she'd get just by seeing him approach her. His voice and the way he spoke to her, plus the pain she felt that was caused by him. Her body began to tremble as she moved to carefully feel under her shirt and pull her hand back out; a lot of blood covered her fingers.

I can't let him see this. I don't want to trouble him... Not when he's already stressed out. Pondered the woman as she slowly lowered her hand. "G- Grimly," Her weak voice made his head look at her, and with her best effort, a happy smile formed on her lips. "Thank you, for saving me. I- I want to give you those brownies now," Not once did she let go of her wound, for she adjusted her position so she could lay on her other side but used her arm to keep her upper half propped. Her poor attempt at covering up her wound with her black shirt by pulling it down more, made him stand.

"What is that? What are you doing?" Subtle steps toward her made her scoot back and move her eyes away from him.

She didn't see the curious head tilt, however, the second a bit of light made the blood on her fingers shine, she watched him pick up his pace and kneel in front of her. "N- No! Stop! Don't look!" Her shaky hands smacked at his, which resulted in him pushing her head to make her lay down. A grunt left her lips, a whine escaped when she felt her hand get shoved away and the fabric of her shirt move.

"Don't look?! Why would you not tell me you were bleeding profusely?!" Feige didn't have much time to respond, for he ran out of the room and left her there to ponder.

Profusely? Does he mean... Her thoughts trailed and the longer she stared at his empty skeletal chair, her head started to spin. Why do I feel more cold than usual? My head... Almost a whisper her vision started to grow spots and her skin became paler. Atsuon must have... Clawed me deeper than I thought. Her eyes started to flutter, her lids became heavier, and her breaths became more labored.

Seconds turned into several minutes until the loud thuds from Gruumm's boots told her that he had come back, albeit rushed. He yanked on one of his blue-head Crybots who carried a Troobian med kit and kneeled to her side again.

Feige couldn't lift her head now and barely her fingers were able to touch his knee that sat close to her face. Every time her eyes would close, she'd feel a small sting when he'd slap at her face to keep her awake. It worked, but not for long.

"Stitches... King Atsuon must have done this. They look torn," The robot stated. The brunette had little strength to speak but she did see a glimpse of the blue head pull out some tools, and hand it to Gruumm.

"When she lunged at him from behind and was tossed aside-- that is probably why they tore!" His furious voice boomed in her ears, but it wasn't enough to keep her eyes from fluttering closed.

The feeling of her skin being pulled told her that he was stitching her back up, which she could hardly react to. The second her violet hues closed, she was slapped awake again by Gruumm's armor-padded hand and saw his limb return to her wound.

It felt like hours, but in reality, it was ten minutes at best. Her wound was closed but her body remained weak, there was no strength in her to move, save for a small whimper. Her tired eyes were at least able to move a tiny bit to peek at his red rubies. She watched him lean closer to her and use his hand to close her eyes, it must have been his way of telling her to sleep.

~~~~
As time flew by, the sound of Piggy's grunt woke the brunette. On her side, she was left to sleep in the same position as when he worked on her. I feel so weak... But I can at least wiggle my fingers a little. Even in her thoughts, her voice sounded exhausted. She wasn't aware that Piggy looked toward her after he kneeled to show respect to Gruumm, who was in his chair.
"W- Whatever I did, sire, I apologize profusely!" Begging he was, Piggy wanted nothing more than to please the Emperor.
"On your feet," Feige could tell, by the sound of his voice, that he wasn't at all in the mood to play around. After all, he did just finish stitching up the girl he likes; not that he'd ever admit to it. "You pledged allegiance to me. Yet you would rather work at that... Disgusting slop cards. Then-- bring me information," The tilt of his head, showed his superiority.
"Well, if you ever need to feed your... Crew. We make a great Banana Slug Pudding," Upon his words, the brunette watched Gruumm stand from his seat in a rush and grab him by the shirt.
"Bring me something to defeat the Power Rangers... Or you'll end up a Special on your own menu," For a moment, he paused, and glanced at Feige, before bringing his attention back to Piggy. "And tell me what you know... About what will improve Feige's strength. I know nothing about human diet, aside from what she eats," Letting go, he sat in his seat with expectation in his rubies.
"H- Human diet? Why-- normally, I see humans eat a lot of meat an- and vegetables. You know... All the putrid stuff that's supposed to be good for you?" Nervousness was in Piggy's movements, the brunette could tell he was scared but there was no way she going to be able to protest against Gruumm's word in her current state.
"So-- similar to my kind. To what we eat... Go! Do what you've been tasked with! I'll be sure to get my hands on some human food," His head turned to her, which she saw and returned a weak but confused stare.
"O- Of course! Right away, sire!" There Feige saw Piggy step back and run out of the room.
No... This isn't awkward in the least-- Nope. I wished I could just sit up. Anyway... I hope everything goes well. He has to fight Atsuon and take on the Rangers. A momentary pause let a small bit of silence befall her until she saw him stand from his seat. Grimly, I really... Want to give you those brownies. I want to make you smile. At first, she saw him stare at her, unbeknownst to her, he heard her and saw a faint pulse of red in his eyes.
Over to her, he walked, her head barely lifted to see what he was doing and the next thing she knew, the very cape that was on his back was taken off. Warmth soon flooded her body when she watched it get placed onto her, her cheeks burned at the sight of him. He cares.~ Hehehehe. I may not be able to move much but I can still think. A tiny, shy smile was soon covered up when she managed to move the cape over her nose.
"Until you're able to walk, I'm not leaving you here alone. I can't risk someone coming and taking you away again. Atsuon can wait a little while until then!" Back to his seat he sat down and turned his chair to face a screen he pulled up.
