From last chapter

Natsu wasn't going to last long either. Using his white scarf he ties their hands together so they were kept together then using some of the blood he writes on the wall behind him. It was simple and left for those who found them. It only said "let's go home together" and with that, both Zeref and Natsu Dragneel were officially dead.

The others didn't hear what was said but they were all crying either openly or hiding it as much as possible. Laxus finally goes closer with Gray following suit after. They release their hands then each picks up one Dragneel, Laxus takes Zeref and Gray Natsu. "We'll take you guys back home now.." Laxus says then they start the long way home

They were all quiet the whole way home. No-one could really speak after what they saw. It was too viollent.  When they were just out of the city Warren managed to connect with them using his magic. They didn't really want to reply to him but they knew they had to. Not wantin to put pressure on everyone else, Evergreen answered. Erza was going to but the other woman saw how much she was struggling not to start crying again.

"What happened you guys? Did you manage to find them?" Warren asks worried. Evergreen knew the others were nearby listening to what was happening patiently and with a lot of worry as well, especialy Makarov. Which was normal, really, she couldn't blame them. Two members had gone missing and Makarov always called and thought of them as his kids and they too felt like family with everyone in the guild. They may not share the same blood but they still were family. 

Evergreen shakes her head to clear her mind from these thoughts. Now was not the time for this. She takes a deep breath before replying to what she was asked "Yeah we did. We are at the borders of the town. We will be here soon. We'll explain the rest to you once we are there." She says before cutting the connection. Erza looks at her in the eyes and the other fairy smiles "No problem" she says. She knew Erza was thanking her quietly for replying instead of her.

They start walking again after that. There was no sound or words between them. Even the wind and the animals of the town seemed to have gone quiet at this moment, like the world itself knew of their loss and felt their pain. The only sound actualy was that of their footsteps as they walk through the paved roads of Magnolia to their guildhall, their home. But even that will seem empty now, they were sure. Without the two brothers laughs, Natsu and Gray's fights and Erza's rampages to break it.

Laxus and Geay come to a stop as they reach the guild. From inside they could hear music and cheers. The others were probably so happy that they decided to throw a aprty to celebrate the others' return. Oh if they only knew. Erza takes a deep breath and walks ahead of the others, opening the doors of the guildhall. 

Cana was the first one to notice and she instantly grins "YO! COME ON IN! We started the party before you guys but hope this is fine by you!" She exclaims as she looks at them. The others quiet too but they all still had that festivity aura. Something that the other two teams didn't possess nor need.

Makarov frowns when he notices the tense aura around Erza "What's wrong Erza? Did something happen? Where are Laxus and the others?" The guild master asks concerned. The red head sighs and shakes her head gently "We found them but well.. ah i think it's best you see yourselves." She says and opens the doors again. The others walk in, they had stayed somewhat behind when Erza had entered the guildhall.

One by one they came inside with Gray and Laxus coming in last. The others gasp when they see the two now adult dragneels blooded and with a lot of bruises and cuts and what not. "S-someone fast call Porlysica!" Lissana yells and they were about to before Lucy spoke up.

 "It's no use guys..they have been dead for months. A barrier was keeping them hidden and stopped them from their bodies falling apart. They should be here since they first dissapeared during the war... kid Natsu and Zeref were probably just their spirits. They are not here anymore.." she says with a strained voice, trying to keep herself from crying again.

That night no-one went home. They heard the whole story from Bockslow and Freed. The others couldn't do it, they were too emotionaly strained. Even the two were crying though at some point. The memebrs present mourned for the loss of their younger members and friends. Yes even though Zeref used to be their enemy now they all thought of him as one of them. Now they understood somewhat better, he too had a rough and veeery long life. It was not a surprise he ended up crazy. Anyone would in his place if they hadn't gone mad earlier.

The whole day was spend mourning the two dragneels. The next day they informed their friends to the other guilds and asked them to come to Magnolia. And so two days after the brothers were found and with their friends they made a fake empty grave at Fairy Tail's grounds. The public only knew of this grave. However the two brothers bodies were elsewhere. 

Makarov had deicded to take the two of them back to the village from which they came from since they learnt which was it, thanks to E.N.D.'s book. It took them a whole week to reach it since the road was too uneven for the magic cars to reach from one point and after. But that was fine by the mages, they had extra time to spend with the two Dragneels and to prepare some for their funeral. 

The village was nothing all that special. It was probably much better when people actualy lived here. The houses were black and ready to collapse if they hadn't already from the fire of the dragon. The roads along with the houses were also taken over by plants. The ground was also littered by skeletons that seemed just about ready to turn into dust. Now they didnt know where to bury the Dragneels so they decided to bury them under a sakura tree that bloomed. Which was very surprising since it was winter. And on a mointain yet there was no snow.

There they also found three other graves. Two belonged to Natsu and Zeref's parents apparrently while the last had Natsu's name. They didn't ponder on it too much, they learnt the whole story from the book. The third grave was replaced and now it read 'Zeref and Natsu Dragneel: loved members of Fairy Tail and excelent mages'. Flowers were left there as their only time visiting. They had to make sure that no-one found these two, it was too dangerous.

The mages camped right out of the village for the night. Laxus and the other dragon slayers were uneasy. "Something just feels off" sting said. He and Rogue were the only members who weren't in Fairy Tail yet they joined the funeral. Looking for a while around they jump back some when they hear someone laugh from above them. Looking up their eyes widen when they see a familiar huge smile plastered on a pink haired head

"HAHAHA S-sorry i couldn't keep myself you looked so funny just looking around like this!!" Natsu says between loud laughs, holding his stomack hard. After a bit he calms down and jumps off the tree to land on the ground. He smiles big towards them "YO!" Happy tears up and flies towards him but he flies right through his chest "Oops. Haha i should have probably mentioned i'm a ghost now. Haha sorry sorry" he says with a smile that was anything but apologetic.

Another person sighs and as it emerges, it hits the back of the pinkette's head "Apologise Natsu. It's not nice to just do this and scare them." Zeref scolds his younger brother. He too was somewhat transparent as was Natsu. The elder Dragneel looks at them and smiles softly "Thank you everyone. For taking care of us i mean. These few months were the best time we ever had."

He bows and makes Natsu bow too. "We are both thankfull for everything you did for us and for bringing us home. Now we can move on to the afterlife" Zeref says then they both stand up and run down the hill that leads to the village. There stood two more figures, a black haired woman and a pink haired man. Their clothes seemed to be from another age though that seemed to make sense. These were their parents.

 When the two brothers reached their parents they were instantly hugged and they reverted back to kids. Each adult picked one of them up then started walking away. The dragneel brothers grin towards the mages and wave their goodbyes before dissapearing. And like that, the dragneel lineage was over and soon it would be forgotten from the world.

EPILOGUE

Lucy's pov

It has been several months since we went to that village and burried the two dragneels. No-one has talked about what happened that day. We all were just happy that the two have now found peace in death.

I enter the guildhall and sit at my usual seat at the bar and order a strawberry milkshake from Mira. The others were having a brawl again while Happy was sitting with me and eating fish. He started living with me ever since Natsu died, he said he didn't like to live all alone in the forest. That was fine by me, i was used to him breaking in my apartment already.

Things have gone mostly back to normal now. Well as normal as things could be without our fire dragon slayer but we were managing. Our team has kept Natsu's name too, as Erza had said we would always be team Natsu. I look up as i hear Erza yell at Gazeel and Gray fight together. The two were the new trouble duo of our guild and were always starting brawls in the guild hall.

Third's pov

Unknown to the others, right outside of the guild stood in front of the guild's doors. One of them kicks open the door after a bit, stopping the brawl that had started just a bit earlier. Everyone's eyes widen when they see two familiar faces from just a few months ago. The man that had earlier kicked the doors open now gives an all too familiar grin

"WE ARE HERE!!" The pink haired man yells and laughs while his black haired companion just shakes his head and smiles softly towards the other.  An old story ended but apparently a new one began now

Author: aand this is the end of this story guys. I feel sad that this story ended though :"3 but i am happy to have written this story and your love for it has made me even more happy!! I know i was being often very late with the chapters' update, i know. But i had school so the end was a bit rushed since i am ending school next year and well my schedule gets busy..BUT ANYWAY! Now is not the right time for this!
