Chapter Eleven ➳

Bill fell asleep rather quickly, a horrible after taste still left in his mouth from the alcoholic beverages he had drank. It took him a while to gain a sense of awareness in his dream. His feet finally landed on solid ground and his vision stopped swirling. He was at the summoning spot where he brought Dipper and Mabel into his mind, but everything was grayscale.

"Oh God," he whispered, looking around frantically in an attempt to spot the demons. But he didn't see anything. He felt something. An unknown presence was wrapping around his waist, holding him close. Bill let out a small scream, yanking himself away, but made himself fall on his stomach in the process. He flipped himself over onto his back and saw the Dream Demon, Dipper. "What do you want now?" Bill managed to say, heart pounding faster than he'd like to admit. Just Dipper touching him made him terrified.

"You're a naughty, naughty human, BT," Dipper simply stated, stalking over to the teen.

Bill swallowed hard. "What do you mean?"

The boy chuckled lightly. "You know exactly what I mean. Breaking the law to seem 'cool' for some girl."

The blonde clenched his hands into fists, quickly getting back to his feet so Dipper didn't have such an advantage on him. "So what. It's not that big of a deal, and like you'd care," he spat.

Dipper tapped his chin, cat-like eyes examining the human. "Let me tell you, you'd have a lot more fun if I helped you."

Bill narrowed his eyes. "Meaning...?"

He smiled a toothy grin, revealing his sharp canines. "I'll help you, guide you. I'm proposing a smaller and more simple deal for now. Take this deal and we will also stop torturing you."

"So you're saying you're going to help me with your weird demons powers...?" Bill took deep thought into this. "What's your side of the bargain? What do I have to give you for this?"

Dipper walked straight towards to blonde, closing the gap between them and making Bill panic slightly. "I need you to give me permission to have possession of a mortal body, my own mortal body. I won't be in my physical form in reality, so you have no need to worry."

The teen was trying to be cautious with this, but everything seemed so fine that he felt he didn't have to be. "You guys will stop torturing me if I take this deal?"

The Dream Demon nodded. "Yes. Mabel will remain in the Mind Scape for now, but that is perfectly fine. She'll understand. She knows I'm more...acquainted with you," he said that last part somewhat mischievously.

"Ha," Bill laughed sarcastically, "we are anything but acquainted."

Dipper shrugged. "Well, I'm going to be sticking with you in the mortal world, so get used to me."

The boy sighed heavily. "Fine. Deal," Bill said, sticking out his hand.

The demon's eyes lit up, maybe literally, and he stuck his hand out as well, a blue flame engulfing it. They shook on it, sealing the deal. Bill felt a tug of fear inside of him as the shockingly comforting warmth of the flame shrouded his hand. Was this the right choice? Bill asked himself, staring at Dipper through the faint blue haze.

"Time to wake up, Bill. See yah there," he whispered into the blonde's ear.

Bill closed his eyes slowly, shivers racing through his body, until he lost sense of himself and the dream.

---

He woke up and it was four in the morning. Bill rubbed his tired eyes, yawning. "Did Dipper really have to wake me up this early...?" Bill murmured, blinking a couple times.

"Of course I had to."

Bill's eyes shot wide open, a scream building in his throat when he found a teenage boy about a year older than him sitting on his bed, leaning over him. "OH MY—"

Human Dipper shot forward, his hands covering up Bill's mouth so his scream was muffled. "Don't scream, you'll wake up your brother," Dipper informed him hastily.

"H-how..." his voice trailed off in disbelief. It was Dipper, but he looked more human than ever. His eyes were normal, his clothes were neat, there was no gaping, bloody hole in his center. The only strange thing about him that remained was the Big Dipper mark on his forehead. "You-you're here and..."

"Human?" the boy finished his sentence. "Yeah, I know. Pretty cool, huh?"

"But how?" Bill asked, still utterly shocked.

Dipper leaned back, sitting cross-legged at the foot of Bill's bed. "You, a human, granted me permission to come into reality with a mortal form."

"Can you still... I don't know, do magic?" the blonde asked carefully.

The previous demon shook his head. "I'm human, duh."

"Oh my God, this is crazy," Bill breathed, trying to scoot away from the other boy. Maybe this was a mistake. Bringing Dipper into reality had to be bad. The things that he had done to Bill in his dreams was terrifying enough, but now Bill was awake. Last time they saw each other in a dream, Dipper tried to seduce him for Christ's sake. Mabel was right about Dipper being the scariest demon.

Dipper laughed, showing his normal, human, teeth. "Precisely. My sister will be able to observe from the Mind Scape. This'll surely be fun. I can't wait to meet your family."
Bill's blood ran cold. "Meet my family?! No!"

The brunette pouted. "Why not?"

"You're a demon! And a strange one at that," Bill pointed out the obvious.

Dipper rolled his eyes, sighing. "But it's not like they can tell," he said.

"Well," the blonde started, sitting up, "you do still have a weird mark on your forehead."

He blinked, looking upwards before he brushed back his bangs to reveal the Big Dipper marking. "Oh, well, I'll just wear something to cover it up. Problem solved." He hopped off the bed, yanking Bill off with him. "Now, BT, teach me."

Bill's eyes widened in shock at Dipper's sentence. "Teach you? What are you talking about?"

The teen smirked, crossing his arms in the darkness. "How to fit in while I do my....business..."

"You want me to teach you how to be human?" the blonde asked baffled, looking around the room. "But what does that have to do with anything?"

Dipper blew air out through his nose and he mindlessly examined his newly acquired human body. "That doesn't matter, not to you at least. I can't give myself away and what I am."

"How would anyone recognize you anyways?" Bill questioned in an irritated manor.

"There are people who've met me before. I just need to be careful," he explained rather vaguely.
Bill narrowed his eyes, staring down the other teen. "Fine. But no funny business."

Dipper scoffed. "I'm not promising you anything, Bill."

The blonde glanced away, Dipper saying his real name feeling somewhat wrong. "I need to sleep, ok? Now—"

"Bill...w-who are you t-talking to?"

Bill flinched, shooting his gaze over towards his brother's bed and saw Will sitting up slowly, rubbing his eyes sleepily. "N-no one," he stammered, horrified. "Hide," he hissed to Dipper.

The other boy pouted his lip, crossing his arms. "Aw, don't make me hide," he pleaded, but there was a malicious glint in his eyes.

Bill stepped over quickly to Will's bed, hoping to block his twin's view of Dipper. "Just go back to sleep, Will."

The blue-haired boy opened his eyes, blinking a couple times. "I heard y-you talking," he murmured.

Bill's eyes darted to Dipper nervously. "So what. Go to bed."

The twin was now almost fully awake, sensing something was wrong. "Wh-what's going on?" he asked stubbornly.

The blonde clenched his jaw. "It's nothing, I already told you."

"Oh, stop lying, Bill," Dipper finally spoke up, agitated.

Bill went as stiff as a board while Will lightly pushed his brother to the side to reveal the previous demon.

"What...wh-who is that?" Will asked baffled.

"A...friend," Bill lied.

Dipper waved, playing the act pretty well.

"Why is h-he here so early i-in the morning?" the twin asked, glancing at the time.

"I don't know," Bill responded quickly, returning to Dipper's side. "Well, I'm going back to—"

"What's y-you're name?" Will flat out interrupted his brother.

"Dipper," he said, smiling smugly at Bill.

Will sat up straighter, a defensive look growing in his eyes. "I-I've never s-seen you before..."

The brunette shrugged. "I've never seen you before, either."

Will shut up.

"This was nice," Bill interjected before anyone else could speak, "but I'm tired. Night, Will."

The shy twin narrowed his eyes at his brother, distrust clouding his blue gaze. "Night..."

As soon as Will laid down and closed his eyes, Bill snatched Dipper's arm and dragged him to the bathroom. The blonde closed the door quietly behind him and locked it before he turned to Dipper once again. "What the heck, man?" Bill growled. "I was trying to hide you till morning. Now Will thinks something fishy is going on!"

Dipper smirked, leaning back against the wall nonchalant. "Oh, please. That brother of yours is too dimwitted to be able to find out what the truth is. I mean, you're an awful liar and you managed to keep the dream-tortures a secret from him."

Bill didn't like Dipper talking about his brother like that. Only Bill was allowed to do that. "Hey, he's not that helpless. Besides, it's only been a little while. He would have found out eventually."
The teen chuckled, shaking his head. "Listen, you think Will is pathetic as I do, so don't bother lying. You were just trying to protect him and blah, blah, sibling stuff." Dipper stood up straighter, making Bill shrink away. "He would have never found out and he never will. You don't even want him to find out."

Bill growled low in his throat. "So?"

"I think part of it," Dipper said, leaning forward, "is that you don't want to appear weak."

His blood ran cold, it was like Dipper was reading his mind. "N-no," he stammered.

Dipper let out a small huff of laughter. "But let's face it, you are pretty pathetic... Especially when it comes to me."

Bill squinted his eyes, backing away slowly till he was pressed up against the sink. "That's.... That's not true. I'm not telling Will because I'm trying to protect him. Dragging him into this could kill him."

Dipper smiled, but it wasn't a sweet one. "Precisely," he murmured. "Will's too sensitive for this."

The blonde clenched his jaw angrily. "Just leave Will out of this mess, please."

The teen sighed. "You act like you know everything about your stupid twin. Well, news flash, you don't. I know him better than you ever will."

Horror swept through Bill. "That's not true!"

"Oh, it's more true than half the stuff your uncle says. You think you know him: his stutter, his MPD, his introverted personality, his secrets. You don't know the half of it. He's been keeping a secret for two years, Bill. And you are probably the stupidest human I've ever seen to not have figured it out by now."

Bill's heart was racing a marathon. "No...he... I know everything about—"

"Shut up," Dipper spat. "You're idiotic. And what's better, he told someone his secret, someone he just met. Funny, isn't it? That it wasn't you he told."

The blonde swallowed hard. "Will... Who did he tell?"

Dipper laughed heartily. "Just because I was omniscient doesn't mean I'm going to inform you about everything."

Bill curled his hands into fists. "Is it a bad secret?" he asked quietly.

"Depends," was all the teen said in response.

"Fine. If you're not going to tell me than I'm gonna go to bed," Bill spat.

Dipper shrugged. "That's fine with me. Just know that you can't trust everyone, BT."

Bill thought of the journal and then his brother, a hatred forming inside him. "I prefer to trust no one."
