The game was soon going to be over, and everyone was already celebrating by the third halftime after Gen did that unexpected scene in front of everyone. He was far more energetic than I had ever seen him. He ran through the field at such speed, almost close to flying. Even with or without the helmet, you could still see his booming smile that wouldn't fade at all.

My heart felt light and warm inside my chest, and a small, faded smile was on my own face. It always made me happy to see Gen so delighted. See him with such overwhelming energy that radiated all around him.I had almost felt relieved from all these red auras around almost everyone until I suddenly got tunnel vision. The ground felt like it moved underneath my feet, and my hands reached to grab the rails. Having an earthquake here in this town is way too odd.

I was waiting for the school's emergency alarms to go off and for some of the security guards to start escorting us out of the stadium to a safer place. But nothing came; turning my head, I noticed everyone was not paying attention to our surroundings. The oddest part was how everyone looked so opaque, dimmed with no light.

"What on earth." I clenched on the bars when the ground shook violently again, and something flew right past me. Crashing down on the field, thankfully away from anyone to actually get hit, there was a small deep crater that was very noticeable. Anyone could see it, but again, no one was reacting to this crash.

"Rogue!" Someone calls out to me from behind; turning around; my eyes lock with those amazing azure eyes from back at the hall. My tunnel vision was still in place, but I saw a scythe approaching me fast.

"Ah!" I squeal, pushing back away from the thing. My back hit the rails, making my body flip back from the inertia I created, allowing me to successfully dodge the attack and fall down to the field's track ground.

"Damn it all." After tossing and turning, someone growled from the stadium, trying to get up on my feet. I felt something whoosh above me again, and the scythe pierced the ground behind me. Making the earth crack once more. My eyes widened when I turned to look up and saw the blue-eyed guy tackle a new guy with black wings on his back! How on earth was anyone not seeing this!

"Fucking grim!" There was another voice hissing behind me. Finally staggering up on my feet, I see a beautiful red scarlet-haired girl emerge from the crater. She was also wearing a stunning pair of black wings. Speechless, my body couldn't move as her silver gaze roamed down to lock on mine. Her irritation vanished as an evil grin tarnished her beautiful face.

"Well, hello gorgeous. You can see us, can't you." Her right hand reached out into the air as a pair of sais on both her hands.

Danger!

My breath caught in my throat, and I stepped back, bumping into the stadium's cold cement call. I shook my head, not knowing what else to do other than pray that a miracle happens to me. She started walking towards me with such elegance that I knew she was taunting me as she began to spin her sais at ease.

"I wonder if you bleed, pretty princess." She raised her hand and flung one of her sais at me. I squeaked and dodged as the sais pierced the cement above my head!

"Now, now be a good girl, and let me kill you." Tears started to swell up when she was just one foot away from me. I looked up to see her eyes once more before she sliced down the sai at me. I put my arms above my head, the last attempt to defend myself, when I heard a loud ding so close to my ear.

"The fuck is this!" The girl hissed, making me open my eyes to look up and see a single red thread blocking the sais' attack. My eyebrows rose in surprise, but they didn't last long until the girl reached over to my neck and grasped it tight.

I coughed and gagged when she literally lifted me off the ground and slammed me against the wall. I couldn't make a pained noise as I desperately gasped for air.

"Rogue!" I kept hearing my name being called out in the distance, but I couldn't pinpoint where it originated. My hands wrapped around her wrist, trying to pry her away from me. Until I heard a loud thud smacking noise matched with a football hitting the girl's face hard. Taken back, a bit in surprise, she releases me only so we can look at whoever threw the ball. Honestly, I was hoping it would be some other winged creature. I could've been okay with anyone but Gen with a stern, pissed-off face.

"A walking dead?" The girl scoffed bitterly as she clenched her sai. Why was Gen the only one reacting toward this huge scene, and why was he glowing with a white radiance around him?

"Gen, run!" I cried out as soon as I saw the girl's arm muscles tense. Ready to attack, without even thinking, I reached over to grab her arm tight. She winced in pain as my hand started to burn her flesh somehow. In a second, I feel her fist connect with my jaw, forcing me to let go and fall to the ground.

"You little bitch." Again, she was aiming her remaining sai at me, and I couldn't defend myself again. But this time, instead of a ball hitting her, a helmet smacked her across the face as Gen came to my side.

"Rogue, come on, get up." He came over to my side to help me stand up, but my head ear was ringing due to the punch. And I still wasn't understanding what was going on. My mind was becoming a giant blur, and I couldn't breathe right. Oh God, I was having a panic attack in the middle of someone trying to kill us.

Gen grabbed me by my arms and pulled me up on my feet; he was trying to make me walk. It made me run, but my body wasn't responding.

"Both of you are dead." The scarlet-haired girl growled as she dashed towards us one more time. It's my fault! Gen wraps his arms around me and uses himself as a shield to protect me, but from the corner of my eye, I see the blue-eyed guy fly past us toward the girl. There was a moment of utter silence when someone collapsed on the ground; I could feel Gen turn. But for the life of me, I couldn't make my body move at all. My eyes were still wide open, but fear resonated in my entire being.

"It's okay, Rogue, it's over." Gen patted my head softly, kissing the top to comfort me. But for some odd reason, it wasn't working this time.

"Okay, hero, step away from my woman." I heard the azure-eyed guy say in annoyance. I could feel Gen's body tense as he turned around. Exposing me to the guy as his anger let loose.

"Who the hell are you calling your woman? Who the fuck are you anyway?" Gen roared and snapped at the boy. The boy smirked and put his blood-stained sword back into his sheath as he raised his left hand. Exposing this red thread that was tied around his finger. The thread's memory flashed back to where it defended me against the crazy girl.

I looked down at my left hand, finally noticing the same red thread around my pinky.

"I'm her soulmate." He said to Gen boastfully.
