The next thing Piper knew she was in a clearing in a forest surrounded by what looked like the ruins of an ancient building and she was screaming.
She didn't know where she was or how she got here but she wanted to find out.
She had to- ow... was that her head? It hurt like crazy. She now had a pounding headache and was completely lost. Great.
"Woah-"
She looked up. Next to her was a boy around her age, only he didn't look like her. He was wearing- robes? Not like bath robes either, more like a cloak over some kind of school uniform that was a mint green.
"Who are you?"
She asked him, thinking maybe he would have an answer, though he looked just as bewildered as she felt.
"And how did I get here?" "Hell if I know." He replied.
"I was hoping you would know how you got here." He said. "I'm Sebastian, by the way."
He offered her a hand to help her up. She looked at it. Should she take the help of a strange man in the woods wearing a dark cloak? Probably not. She took his hand.
Thats when she was able to get a good look at him. He was handsome no doubt about that.
"Where exactly did you come from?" He-Sebastian- asked.
"Savannah."
Piper replied as she dusted herself off.
"Where's that?" "Sebastian is everything alright? I heard screaming?" Another voice this time. Piper turned and saw yet another boy in dark robes.
"Are you guys in some kind of cult?" Piper asked suddenly and Sebastian laughed.
"No!" He said. "We're students! These' are our uniforms!" He added.
"Sebastian who is this?" the other boy asked. She realized she hadn't introduced herself. Rude.
"I'm Piper." She said.
"She's from 'Savannah'." Sebastian said, putting finger quotations around the word "Savannah".
"Well where is that?" "Georgia." Piper replied as if it were obvious.
"Georgia?" the other asked. "As in Georgia in Europe?" "No." Piper scoffed.
"America." "America? A colonist?" "I beg your pardon."
Piper raised both her brows at this as she looked at Sebastian.
"A joke, sorry." He said with a grin. "But still what are you doing all the way over here if you're from America?"
"I don't even know where 'here' is."
"you're at Hogwarts." "I'm sorry what?"
Piper's eyes squinted in confusion.
"Is that some kind of infectious disease." "No, it's a school." Sebastian said as he took out his wand. "Of witchcraft."

Piper backed away from him.
"You're delusional." She said. "Or maybe I am - the jury's still out on that - but either way this is insane. Theres no such thing as witches or wizards and their's certainly no such thing as magic."
"Oh really?" Sebastian seemed to be challenging her. "Sebastian don't." Ominis warned.
" Confringo!"
He blasted a near by tree with fire straight from his wand and Piper screamed again. Ominis sighed.
"Really Sebastian?" "What?" "You just- that tree- that wand- how did you-"
"It's called magic, sweetheart, better get used to it because I'm certain it's what brought you here."
He said, eyes flickering down to the time turner that was still in her hands.
"Huh?" She asked and then followed his gaze. "Oh..." her shoulders seemed to sag.
Memories of everything that had happened before she woke up here came flooding back.
"OH...." if this item in her hands really was magic then that made a hell of a lot more sense why Tyler had to die for it. Whoever was chasing him, a gang or something more sinister must have known that is was something special.
"Is this thing magical?" She asked, raising the time turner.
"The time turner?" Ominis asked as he stepped forward. "Most definitely." "A time what?" "A time turner." Ominis said and held his hand out for her to give him the artifact.
She declined. Not sensing the time turner being handed over to him, Ominis retracted his hand and continued his explanation.
"A time turner can rewind time or speed through it. They are quite rare though, and I am rather curious how a muggle ended up with one. We are usually quite good about handling these things."
"What's a muggle?" "You." Sebastian told her.
"A muggle is someone who's not a witch or wizard, normal people." "I'm an artist, I'm far from normal." "Fair enough, but you aren't a witch."
Piper shook her head. "No I'm definitely not that." "But where did you get a time turner from?" Ominis persisted. Piper raised the artifact, looking at it and remembering her brother.
"My brother gave it to me just before-" She hesitated, the grief was still fresh and she had not had any time at all to process it.
"My brother gave it to be before he was killed." She finally got the words out with a shaky breath.
"Oh..." Ominis replied. "I'm so sorry." He added. But now that they knew how she got the time turner, the question still remained for Piper. If this was a magical object, capable of taking her back in time, what was Tyler doing with it? How did he get it? And more importantly, who was chasing him?
Would they come for her next?

"We should really bring you back to school. Professor Weasley might be able to help you." Ominis said.
"How far is your school? I don't see one around here. I thought I was in the middle of the woods." "Hogwarts is just south of here. Perhaps a thirty minute walk." Sebastian told her.
"This way." He led them back to school grounds. The walk was not as long as Piper thought it might be. The woods were calming too, she hadn't been out in the woods just for the hell of it since she was young.
Her brother, Tyler, and she would go off on little make shift adventures in the woods behind their house when they were both very young. These woods reminded her of that. She and tyler had built a fort out of old sticks and leaves one time and that became the source of all of their adventures until they were both too old to play together.
They walked along a babbling brook. "This 'Savannah' that you're from... what is it like there?"
Ominis asked as they walked, making conversation with the girl that fell through a crack in the wall.
"Uh hot. all the time just about, except for the asscrack of winter." Sebastian chuckled.
"The what?" Ominis asked, his prim and proper voice sounded taken aback by what had just left her mouth.
"You know, like the middle of winter. Late December and January and a little of February too. But the rest of the time it's hot and humid."
"So you don't like it there?" He asked and Piper shrugged.
"I wouldn't say that. It's a place... and there's nowhere else like it. It's on the banks of a river and big cargo ships come by at all times of the day and night. The city never sleeps, there is always noise. But not in a bad way, Savannah is like a constant song, a jazz one. Anyone can have a note."
"What's Jazz?" Ominis asked. "What's a cargo ship?" Sebastian added and Piper just shook her head with a smile.
They wouldn't be able to understand really, not because she doubted their intelligence but she doubted how good she would be able to explain these things. She never did have a way with words.
"The school isn't much farther. We're just about there, actually." Sebastian said and with that they stepped into a clearing, the clearing of Hogwarts School Grounds and Piper's jaw dropped.
There before her, was not only a magnificent castle, but it was the castle of which she had been painting for almost years now.

"And I am to believe that you fell from a crack in the wall?"
Professor Weasley raised a brow as she looked at Piper who was standing between Ominis and Sebastian.
"She really did, Professor." Sebastian insisted.
"It was like nothing I had ever seen." He added. "Sebastian if this is another foolish prank of yours-" "It isn't."
Ominis insisted. Weasley looked at him. She knew he couldn't have seen the girl fall from the crack in the wall... but she wanted to hear what he had to say.
"He isn't lying. One second the forest was quiet, there was no one but us at the ruins. And then I heard her scream as she came to. Sebastian isn't lying."
Weasley raised a brow and looked back to Piper.
" And she was holding this." Sebastian handed the time turner to Professor Weasley. Her face seemed to pale.
"Is this true?" She looked at Piper. "Did you really come through the wall with this?" Piper nodded. "Yes." She said.
"I didn't know what that thing was- and I still don't, honestly, but I picked it up and suddenly I was here. I don't know what happened I- I can't explain it."
"Very well." Weasley sighed.
"I must speak with the other professors about this.. This is most frightening indeed. In the mean time, Sebastian, keep an eye on her. I want you and Ominis to stay with her, since you found her you are both now a part of this."
"Yes professor."
"This is larger than any of us, what it unfolding, I will send for you when we have talked. In the mean time stay close." and with that Professor Weasley dismissed the three.
