Chapter 13: Redemption
[Time Skip, Months Later, (Y/N)'s POV]
I yawned as Yang and I walked into the gas station. We had stopped to fill up Yang's bike and get something to drink, due to the blazing heat outside. We were headed to find Yang's mother, Raven Branwen. Suddenly black dust swirled around beside me and formed a figure, which then turned into the familiar smirking male. He stretched and walked in with us.
Cody: "Man, I hate this fucking heat."
Me: "I'm not a fan of it either. But let's get something cold."
The inside was empty, besides the person at the counter and one other person sitting at the bar. Yang took a seat at the bar as I walked over to the drink coolers in the back. I grabbed a random drink and Cody grabbed an energy drink. Cody created a small blade on his index finger then quickly opened the can and proceeded to down the entire thing in one go.
Cody: "Well, I feel better now."
Me: "You're gonna have a heart attack one of these days."
Cody: "Nah, I'll be fi-"
As we walked around the corner we saw the only other customer in here reaching out to touch Yang's hair.
Cody: "That guy is so dead. Wanna bet on how many broken bones he gets?"
Yang suddenly punched him in the face, making the male bounce off the floor... Then the ceiling... Then the wall... Then out the door.
Me/Cody: "All of them."
We walked up to Yang and saw her hand shaking, she held it steady with her robotic arm and calmed down.
Me: "You okay?"
Yang: "Yeah... Yeah, I'm okay."
Clerk: "So... what brings you three around these parts?"
Yang held up a finger as she began downing a bottle of water.
Me: "We're looking for someone."
Clerk: "Not many people around here... well, the only one worth mentioning is-"
Cody: "Raven Branwen. Yup, that would be the person we're lookin' for. Know where she is?"
Clerk: "W-Wait, ya'll don't want to go messing with bandits."
Cody laughed and smiled with sharp teeth.
Cody: "Trust me, they are the ones who should fear us. Now, know where they are?"
The clerk shook his head without muttering another word.
Me: "Figured it wouldn't be that easy."
Yang: "It's fine. We'll just keep going until we find her."
Yang stood up as we walked out of the little pit stop and towards Yang's bike. I looked on the ground by the bike and saw the guy Yang had punched. He was barely conscious, but still alive.
Cody: "Ew... it's still alive, squish it."
Me: "It's not worth it."
Cody: "Oh yeah... we're the 'good guys' now... boredom shall ensue."
Yang hopped on her bike and started it, suddenly the guy groaned and sat up.
Guy: "You three are lookin' for Raven Branwen, right? I can show you where her camp is."
The man smiled, he was missing a tooth.
Cody: "That smile is a dead giveaway."
Me: "Exactly what I was thinking. Should we 'persuade' him to tell us where she's at?"
Cody: "I'll go make sure the store clerk doesn't call someone when he starts screaming."
Me: "No need, just cover his mouth."
Cody: "Fine, fine. But next time I get to do the fun part."
Me: "You're such a child."
Cody: "Not true. I'm just a kid at heart... a very fucked up kid."
I walked forward and crouched down.
Me: "Why not just tell us? I'm good with memorizing directions."
The man looked slightly nervous.
Guy: "N-No, you'd definitely get lost. Besides what's the harm?"
I sighed and motioned to Cody.
Me: "Here, let's talk out back, I'm sure we can work something out."
Cody grabbed the back of the man's jacket and began dragging the man towards the back of the building, he looked over his shoulder and smiled at Yang.
Cody: "We'll be right back blondie, shouldn't take long."
Guy: "W-Wait! What are you gonna do?!"
Yang nodded hesitantly with a slightly sickened look on her face. I followed along with Cody until we were behind the building.

Yang sped down the dirt path into the forest. We finally stopped in a clearing around 3 miles in. I hopped off the bike and stretched. Black dust once again swirled then Cody formed from it.
Cody: "Looks like that guy gave us random directions. Time to go back and actually kill the guy."
I sighed.
Me: "For once we restrain ourselves and the guys lies to us. This is why being a good guy-"
A bullet suddenly wizzed by my head as I ducked.
Cody: "Ohhhh, ambush."
I quickly formed my claws and found the source of the bullet. A group of bandits slowly emerged from the trees welding weapons.
Me: "I think we're in the right place at least."
I charged the first person I saw and lunged at them with my claws, cutting straight through their sword. I then spun on my heel as I created a dull blade on my shin and swiped their legs out from under them. I then created a dull blade across my knuckles and slammed it into their stomach, effectively taking them out of the fight. Gunfire suddenly echoed through the forest as I began deflecting bullets with my claws. I slowly moved forward while still blocking bullets until I got close enough to lunge at the group that was shooting at me. Cody jumped in from the right and slammed his knee into one of the bandit's faces and drew their attention long enough for me to get an opening to attack the rest of the group. With the combination of Me, Cody, and Yang, the bandits didn't stand a chance, they were on the ground begging for life before they could gain any ground in a fight.
