Chapter 10: The New Me
[(Y/N)'s POV, One Week Later]
Me: "Come on! That all you got, you overgrown lizard!?"
I shouted as I jumped out of the way of the Sea Dragon's lunge. I then ran at the dragon and stabbed my claws into its eye, clenching my fist to gain a firm hold. It thrashed violently, trying to shake me off, which I responded by planting my feet on its lower jaw and creating blades underneath my feet, allowing me to stay still. I then made my blades, that were already planted in the dragon's eye, extend, reaching its brain. Almost instantly the Grimm stopped moving and fell over. I then removed my blades and hopped off the Grimm. I looked from the dead Sea Dragon, to the dead Goliath, then to the dead King Taijitu, then the various other assorted corpses.
Me: "And that makes fifty. Trainings over."
Just as I was about to turn around I heard slow clapping. I turned to see Salem clapping while sporting a smirk.
Salem: "I must say out of all of my allies, you seem to be the only one I can truly rely on."
Me: "What do you need?"
Salem: "We're having a meeting and I need you present for it."
Me: "That's a first."
I followed her to the tower.

We arrived outside the meeting room and instantly heard Watts being an ass to Cinder again.
Me: "Tell me again why I can't just rip his vocal cords out?"
Salem: "Because he's our ally, he just needs a bit of correction."
Me: "Correction is an understatement."
Salem opened the doors and walked in. I watched as everyone tensed and stood up. Salem walked quietly to the window of the room and looked out through it. I decided to stand beside her, I didn't really know what to do.
Salem: "Watts..."
She turned from the window and looked at Watts.
Salem; "Do you find such malignance necessary?"
She motioned for everyone to sit down, and took a seat herself. I stood next to her seat.
Watts: "I apologize ma'am. I'm not particularly fond of failu-"
Me: "Watts. I suggest you shut your mouth before I stitch it shut."
I gave him a glare.
Me: "Speaking of failure. When was the last time you actually won a fight? Oh yeah, that's right your a privileged brat who's only real defense is talking. Such a noble effort, while Cinder was out in a battle, you got to sit in your home and wait for the results. Next time you open your mouth to speak of failure, make sure you-"
Salem: "(Y/N). That's enough, I believe he understands."
Me: "Right."
After that I tuned out for awhile. I walked over to the window and watched the new Beowulves form. I looked at my reflection in the window. I still had the burnt ring around my neck, it left a nasty scar. My teeth were still made of blades.
Cody: "Look at this mess."
I turned around and looked around frantically. I hadn't seen Cody or Fenrir ever since the doctors injected me with that drug. Even after it wore off I haven't heard them until now. I didn't see Cody anywhere.
Me: 'Come on... I know I heard you.'
Salem: "(Y/N)? Are you alright my pet?"
Me: "Yes... I'm fine..."
Cody: "Just look at you. Trading one cage for another."
Me: "She helped me... if it weren't for her-"
Cody: "Fenrir and I got you out of that place. We took over while you blacked out. You honestly think this woman would treat you like a human being? You're her pet. Don't forget that."
Me: "Shut the hell up!"
I clutched my head and screamed. I couldn't help it, even knowing it was in my head it's hard to control. I suddenly felt two ice cold hands on my face, raising my head.
Salem: "(Y/N). Look at me."
I looked at Salem, who had risen from her chair.
Salem: "Calm down. I'm here. No need to be afraid."
Cody: "She's lying. She'll discard you like the rest."
Me: "No she won't. She helped-"
Cody: "She's lying. They always lie."
Me: "She... she can't be..."
Cody: "She is. Come on now, you know this. You can't rely on people, they'll hurt you, stab you in the back, then throw you in a cage."
Me: "I...I..."
Suddenly I felt lips on mine. I spaced out again when I came back Salem was kissing me. I kissed back, and eventually she pulled back. She looked at me with her usual, cold, powerful eyes.
Salem: "Are you better now?"
I nodded, still regaining my senses.
Salem: "Good. We have something to talk about."
Me: "What is it?"
Salem: "I planned on sending you out for a special mission. One that I think you will enjoy. But first I need to know you can handle it."
Me: "I can handle it."
Salem: "Alright... come sit down."
I looked to the table and saw that everyone was gone.
Salem: "You were out for quite a while. Mumbling to yourself and looking out the window."
Me: "Oh... I'm sorry I didn't realize."
I took a seat next to Salem's seat. She sat down and looked at me.
Salem: "IF you can handle it, I want you to track down the your old friends."
Me: "Why?"
Salem: "They might prove themselves as an annoyance. And I won't have that. I want you to find them, and kill them, starting with the weakest."
Me: "Who's the weakest?"
Salem: "The silver eyed girl's sister. Yang Xiao Long. She was injured in the battle of Beacon, and is still recovering. It should prove easy for you, but also a test to see if your able to handle what I'm asking of you."
Me: "If it weren't for them... if it weren't for all of the people at that Academy... I wouldn't have had to go through being locked in a padded room again... of course it'll be easy. It'll be easy to kill all of them."
I felt a smile stretch across my face.
