OC Chapter 9 - Sapphire
Name: Sapphire Belladona
Age: About a month old technically, but mentally and biologically she's 17.
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Pansexual
Species: Genetically Modified Black Cat Faunus.
Appearance: Being the clone of Blake Belladona, she looks nearly identical to her genetic source material, save a few glittering blue streaks of hair in her bangs, sporadically throughout her hair and near the tips down her back. Even so, she would just appear as if Blake had some work done to her hair to give it that effect. Her cat ears are just a tiny bit more pointed than Blake's, but it's barely noticeable. She has a pair of sharpened canine teeth thanks to the genetic modifications, and retractable claws. Unlike Blake she also has a long, streamlined but slightly bushy tail though she normally wraps it around her waist to hide its presence. Like Blake, she wears a bow to hide her cat ears. Physique wise she's nearly identical to Blake, though thanks to the genetic augmentation, she's a bit more muscular and toned. She wares a white trench coat with an ornate blue Camellia bloom on the back, both to match the theme of her weapon and to mock Adam, portraying herself as his polar opposite. In fact, her weapon itself is very much like his, a katana with a slightly straighter and longer blade but hers is a very dark blue, although it seems to fluctuate between seven different colors when her semblance is active based on the dust she infuses into herself and the blade. She wears a black low-cut crop top and it shows her bare midriff even more than Blake's usual outfits. She has long tight black pants to match the black interior of her coat and her top, but has a blue belt with a pattern on it somewhat similar to Adam's domino belt, but hers features a silver swallowtail butterfly, her favorite animal, on either side of the buckle. The sheathe for her sword is also black, but features an ornate silver and white magnetic clip.
Personality: Sapphire's personality is rather unstable and at times downright , thanks in part to her hasty and rushed creation in a matter of weeks when it should have taken around two years. It's also due to the fact that she suffers from mild to downright extreme insomnia, rarely getting a truly restful REM sleep for more than two to six hours per night, or day as she has some nocturnal tendencies. In terms of her personality, she is very much like the original Blake in some ways. She's a bookworm, and prefers to keep to herself. Having more of her cat traits present, however, she's prone to hyperactive bursts of energy which may result in her running around or talking very fast for seemingly no reason, complaining about a door being closed when someone just let her in and then closed it again, or being unable to decide where and how she wants to sit down or rest. When she's stable, she can be fun and outgoing unlike the much quieter Blake, but she's somewhat jittery when given no outlet for her energy. She seems to be afraid of sleeping, as she suffers nightmares pertaining to some of her genetic memories of Blake's combat training, in particular those centered around Adam. This is the source of her insomnia, and it makes her prone to anger at the mere mention of his name or anything associated with him. She doesn't know who he is, but she knows his face, and feels the emotions Blake felt as he slowly fell into darkness without knowing why she experiences these conflicting emotions, rapidly turning her fear into a hatred so extreme that she feels she can never truly have rest while he is alive, and decided to center her appearance around mocking the aesthetics he seems to love. Her vendetta and her knowledge of many of his abilities from Blake's combat training memories makes her more dangerous than most, and she'll stop at nothing to destroy everything he hopes to create before silencing him for good as punishment for causing Blake, and by extension, Sapphire, to suffer so much even though Sapphire's turmoil isn't really his fault. She will break down and cry at times, or fly into a rage due to her lack of sleep taking a toll on her psyche and her emotions. She's VERY easily distracted, especially by movement or repetitive sounds, and may sometimes forget key things only to remember them several moments later. Even in spite of this, she trains hard, determined to become the best she can be, all in the name of not only defeating Adam, but crushing and humiliating him in combat.
Backstory: Her full backstory will be updated more as time goes on and more is revealed in the RP. Right now, all I'll say is she's a genetically enhanced Faunus and clone of Blake Belladonna, though here genes have been modified a good deal from Blake's base DNA sequences.
Aura Color: Black.
Semblance: Her semblance is very similar to Blake's in some ways, as one might expect from a clone. However, she has her own soul and her own self-awareness so it expresses some different characteristics, more suited to her aggressive and volatile nature. Her semblance allows her to produce up to six copies of herself, each of which looks exactly like her save that they don't have her blue streaks in their hair. Unlike Blake's clones, which are basically the semblance equivalent of the move substitute from Pokemon to absorb a single impact and allow her to escape, these clones will move for up to three seconds before disappearing. If she generates 1-3 copies, the time they stay active is six seconds unless they're destroyed. If she makes 4-6, it's three seconds. Each increment also puts a greater strain on her aura. Depending on the thought she imparts to them, she can have them behave exactly like Blake's, or have them jump to intercept an attack, or even leap in to get a quick combo started on the enemy. Additionally, like Blake, infuse them with different dust types, allowing them one elemental dust attack before automatically disappearing. With further training, she can even link her mind to her active copies and control them manually for a time, up to three minutes, more like two if she has all six active. Doing so puts a great burn on her aura, and worse yet, she cannot move while controlling the other six, having to put every ounce of concentration on fighting from the perspective of each clone simultaneously. She must stay within sixty feet of the clones when doing this or they will disappear. If she's going to use this trick, she will probably plan to do so in advance and scope out a well hidden spot near her chosen battle sight where she can safely locate to meditate and control the clones. If she's attacked and her concentration is broken during this time all the clones will automatically disappear, and she will have to wait a few seconds before she can use her aura for defense. This ability is a powerful tool when used correctly, as six enemies is a tough fight even for the most skilled of masters, but it's very risky. For this reason, unless she has adequate preparation time she'll normally stick to using her clones the normal way. Because they're capable of more actions, they require more aura to use than Blake's, and she uses them more sparingly, relying on her reflexes and agility to either evade or block attacks when she can, preferring to save her clones for when absolutely necessary, or to exploit an opportunity to attack and set up a combo with a quick attack or two, allowing her or another clone to close in and continue the combo against the now somewhat vulnerable enemy. She's still learning the in's and out's of this ability so she's got a lot of work to do to master it. She may seem like a one-woman army, but she must be very careful as even a single clone requires a significant amount of aura and normally dies within 3-6 seconds, or when it gets hit.
Choice of Dust: Several, and she likes to use them in tandem with her semblance. She favors the arcane art of infusing dust to her own body, granting her or her clones a temporary power-up from their effects. She favors gravity dust for herself, but will use six other types for her weapon and her clones. The others are Fire, Ice, Wind, Earth, Lightning, and Steam Dust. When using Gravity dust, she prefers to utilize it to alter either her own weight, or the gravitational field she emits as all objects with mass do, then increase her own weight causing the reversed gravity field to repulse any nearby objects violently, much like a Shinra Tensei type attack from Naruto Shippuden, though nowhere near as powerful. She can only use it once before she must reapply her dust, so she has more subtle uses for it, altering her weight to jump higher or farther, or to soften the blow of an incoming attack. However, she's not yet experienced at this and often misjudges the right time to use it. When she empowers her sword she increases its weight at the exact moment of impact, coupled with her aura this makes for a sometimes devastating slash. For her clones, she uses the other six types giving each one a single unique ability that activates upon the clone's destruction, or leads to it.
Fire - clone explodes much like Blake's when attacked, dealing a substantial AOE fire blast to the vicinity. It also turns the clone's hair and eyes red just prior to activating this ability.
Ice - clone turns into an ice sculpture upon activating this, and with correct timing can trap an enemy weapon or limb inside it.
Wind - clone can rush forward with a gap-closer attack at high speed and perform a single powerful slash, in which the wind serves as an extension to the blade and allows her to strike a target that may still be within two feet of the blade's edge.
Earth - clone transforms into stone, making it an effective defense until the enemy just goes around it.
Lightning - clone's bullets are infused with lightning for four seconds, becoming much like rapid-fire ball lightning, causing small splash AOE. It's normally a shock and awe tactic but if it does hit it can do really hurt.
Steam - same as with Blake's, it creates a haze when attacked that makes it hard for the enemy to see.
Weapons: Sapphire was naturally drawn to the same of a katana, as is true of her source material, since Gambol Shroud also features a katana in one of its forms. Her weapons, however, are more a combination of elements of Gambol Shroud, Wilt, and Blush. Her sword is a katana with a distinct blue-hued longer blade and a black hilt, and is called: Bloom, in contrast to Adam's sword: Wilt. It's another jab at him, but also an expression of her own views on how one must constantly keep growing and changing, never allowing themselves to wither or they'll be left behind. Her blade will flash a different color for a moment before returning to blue if she's put a dust powder vial into its single-slot cartridge at the base of the hilt. Attached to the hilt is a blue ribbon that she uses to great effect to swing her sword and spin it around for surprise attacks from a few feet away. The sheathe of her sword is called: Pallor, meaning pale or dim, in contrast again to Adam's hilt-rifle: Blush. Sapphire's hilt morphs into a lightweight variant of the M-16 assault rifle, with a tri-burst firing mode or fully-automatic setting. Her slightly enhanced strength allows her to use it one-handed relatively easily, though the kick can sometimes leave her vulnerable. This weapon-hilt features a small blue Camellia design on the scabbard. When dueling, she may open with a quick Iaido style draw quickl slash, then sheathe. However, she prefers to put her enhanced agility and reflexes to use, favoring a highly acrobatic and continuous style of attack, where she's constantly in motion, similar to the Star Wars Form IV Ataru Lightsaber combat form. This suits her well, as she shares and even perhaps exceeds Blake's stamina and speed. Combine with her enhanced feline reflexes she can decapitate an opponent before they even been hit by something. However, her style is not perfect, and like Blake, she lacks a strong defense for blocking attacks, preferring to either evade or counter-attack. Breaking her guard is easy, but to do so you have to catch her first. Her enhanced senses enable her to better respond to an enemy's movements. She has truly feline-like reflexes. On top of that, she also has sharpened canine teeth, and five claws that grow out from her nails but retract on each hand and foot, allowing her to climb walls relatively easily, hook into an enemy, or rapidly smack and carve up a foe with a series of jabs, punches, swats, and strikes. Her hand-to-hand abilities though are mediocre at best. She's a better martial artist than Ruby, but she still prefers her sword or gun in hand.
Crush: None yet.
Alignment: Chaotic good
Faction: Beacon and Rose.
