OC Chapter 8 - Meta
Name: Meta Chrome (She considers neither to be her last name but will accept being called by either one. She chose one name for herself, and the other to fit in with the color rule of Remnant.)
Age: Biologically and mentally she's 17 but in reality her exact age may well be hundreds or thousands of years old.
Gender: Female
Sexuality: ??? Shhhh! She doesn't know what that even means yet. She'll learn, though.
Species: Humanoid Grimm. Not a hybrid, she's purely a Grimm but one that has eventually adopted a human form due to devouring a huntress fifty years prior with a semblance that slowly caused that person's soul to fuse into the essence of a primordial Deathstalker. The soul currently residing within her is a new one made of the two combined forces, making it unlike any other in the world. However, she cannot yet access it to channel an aura, and is not aware she actually has one.
Human Appearance: She's about six feet tall, with an athletic and beautiful body. She has black hair running nearly halfway down her back, but it has a few white and red streaks through it. She also has dark red bangs with very slight white tips. Her eyes are deep scarlet with vaguely cat-like pupils. Her skin is quite pale, and on her arms, neck, collarbone, and back is a black ornate pattern of lines that very much resembles the red patterns on a Grimm's mask. Speaking of which, she has what seems to be a fragment of a Grimm's white mask attached to the upper left side of her face and head, though it has a small crack in it. She cannot remove it. At first, she wares very simple clothing, of a sleeveless black kimono-like tunic with a white taper and belt that stretches past her knees. She has black leather boots and matching black leather fingerless gloves, along with tight fitting black pants for maximum mobility and speed.
Original Form Appearance: Chrome's original form is much like any other Deathstalker. As with all Grimm, she grew in size as she aged. Her many centuries walking the Earth allowed her attain a size far greater than that of the average Deathstalker. Before transforming, she was in the neighborhood of four to five times bigger than the Grimm that Team JNPR killed during their initiation. Another sign of her great age was the appearance of bumps and spines along the white bony plates that covered her body segments, as well a many scars and chips along the body armor. Most notable though, was the fact that due to her fifty year slumber underground, a large oak tree had grown above her and wrapped its roots around her body, so that when she awoke she carried the tree with her on her back.
Personality: She has yet to discover her true persona, but at the moment she's fairly quiet and distant, preferring to observe and study humans and Faunus to try to better understand their very strange ways. Being the only known Grimm to possess complete sentience, this conflicts with her natural instinct to destroy humanity and Faunus along with their creations. For this reason, she avoids conversation, and if possible, people. She prefers the company of the birds that once lived in the Oak Tree that grew on her back in her original Deathstalker form. She seems to have great reverence for nature, and normally will prefer not to fight unless it is needed. Making friends with her is very difficult, as her natural mindset does not completely comprehend friendship, or any sort of attachment. As a general rule, she does not normally feel emotions in the same way as a human or a Faunus either. For those who can connect, they may find themselves with a ferocious protector should they get themselves into trouble. Although her original form implies she's walked Remnant countless eons, she seems to have very little recollection of her previous life. What little she does have is relegated to dreams or very blurred flashbacks to key events, but without any context she doesn't quite understand them.
Backstory: Strap yourselves in. This is a long one. Well, maybe not long as much as it is detailed. Fifty years ago, a huntress went to slay a notorious Deathstalker to prevent it from destroying a village. They battled for hours, and although the young woman fought hard, eventually she was defeated and eaten by the Grimm. However, in the process her semblance, which up until this point she was unaware of, activated, binding what was left of her living soul in her final moments to the dark essence of the Grimm. This caused a painful reaction within the beast. It attempted to burrow underground and sleep off the painful meal, but in the end, after fifty years, it awoke to find that the agony had only grown worse. On top of that, the cracks that began appearing in its mask had grown even larger. It left its burrow deep in the Emerald Forest, moving towards Mountain Glenn, where eventually the pain became so great that the monster burst open as its mask shattered. However, from the remains it reformed into something new. A much smaller, sleeker body. It was a new form of life, reborn like the phoenix from its own ashes.
Aura Color: ??? At the moment none, though she will emit a black and red glowing mist from her body when her special powers activate. Her aura will be very dark blue and black when she connects to her soul. It's worth pointing out that she can't unlock her aura through normal means, or have it unlocked by another person. She has to figure it out on her own. Although she has no aura to protect herself, she retains the immense stamina and durability of a Deathstalker in her human form, able to sustain and even shrug off heavy damage, as well as survive easily in almost any environment. Her physical strength is also greater than a human's, but not tremendously so.
Semblance: ??? None yet. She can't access her semblance until she can unlock her aura, but in exchange she has another ability. Like all Grimm, she can sustain herself and even draw power from the emotions and vibes around her. The more fear, anger, rage, sorrow, and confusion she can draw upon, the greater her stats become. If she's allowed to draw on this for three minutes uninterrupted, she can transform into her fully Grimm mode and gain a massive buff to her strength, speed, and reflexes in exchange for most of her defenses. During this transformation, her mask fully reforms, resembling a skull with red markings on it, with a pair of demonic-like forward facing horns. Her skin turns almost ivory white, though she will have patches of shadowy black fur-like substance around her wrists, ankles, and neck. In this state, her scorpion tail also returns, though its more lizard-like except for the barbed yellow stinger at the tip. The venom is non-lethal, but it can cause pain and discomfort. This transformation lasts only twenty seconds, but during this time she's extremely violent towards humans and Faunus in her general vicinity as her innate Grimm instincts will run wild. She will lose this transformation ability upon unlocking her aura, if she chooses to do so.
Choice of Dust: Without aura she can't use any dust, so none yet.
Weapons: Oaken-Sting. After integrating with society a bit more, she forged a weapon to suit her new position as a huntress as she attempts to understand humanity. She carved a wooden handle and grip for an automatic XM25 grenade launcher, along with an axe blade connected to it allowing it to unfold into a mighty battle axe for close combat. She likes the philosophy that, the best weapon is not one you never have to use. The best weapon is the one you only have to use ONCE.
Crush: None yet.
Alignment: Neutral (leans toward neutral evil at times.)
Faction: None, for now.
