Huǒlóng Island

This is a non-canon area, however it is deeply connected to one of my OC's, actually all of them, but mostly to one.  There are several sub-areas.  The island itself is further South and West than Patch, almost bordering the equator, giving it a heavily tropical climate.  It's very humid and covered by extremely dense rainforests, however by all accounts, this island, once home to the ancient Wyvern City, is a true tropical paradise.  There is a legend on this island that dragons nest within its Pele Range, a series of highly active volcanoes that form a mountain range that extends from the middle of the island to its Southern edge.  Many smaller uninhabited islands dot the sea in a pattern nearby, much like the real life Hawaiian Islands.

SUB-AREAS:

Coastline

The coastlines of the island are pristine and a sight to behold.  White sandy beaches and black lava beds line much of the island's shores.  On a bright sunny day, one could find no better place in all of remnant to kick back and relax under the tropical sun.  It's little wonder that several resorts and small villages still dot the coasts, though most of it remains untouched.

Ashen Lake:

Imagine if you will, that you are in a tiny boat, rowing gently across a massive lake in the middle of a huge forested valley.  The stark and tall pine trees stand like solemn attendees at a memorial, even in a place that should be so full of life.  It's midday, and yet, as with any day, the sun is hidden from view by a grey fog, or smoke that blankets the area.  It's so thick that it's difficult to see in front of you, so only shapes and silhouettes are visible in the murk.  You see the shapes of branches and tree trunks, barren and dead as they rise out of the water, some of them massive.  They cast an eerie atmosphere over the land and suddenly the sound of your oars or motor as you boat across the lake seems a bit louder, as if disturbing the piece as your wake washes against the dead trunks.  You see other shapes too, and these are even more ominous.  Amidst the gnarled old branches, you see the tops of buildings rising out of the water, charred and rotting ruins.  You have to wonder what on Earth could've happened here?  An entire city, flooded, left to die under the gloom of the water, the old trees, and the fog.

Huǒlóng Rainforests:

These beautiful jungles are teaming with life found nowhere else in the world of Remnant, most of which have not been categorized due to the presence of the Grimm.  Whether its up from its beautiful sandy beaches to deep within the interior of the volcanic Pele Mountains, this rain forest is as shrouded in mystery as it is fog at times.  Mainly this occurs near large bodies of water that are heated by the geothermal activity below them on higher elevations.  Of late, however, the Grimm are becoming more scarce on the island, as though someone or something has been causing their numbers to decline drastically.  There's talk of monsters now roaming the woods.  If one ventures deep into the Pele range, one may still find a grove or two of the ancient Arch Trees, supposedly ageless trees that stand so tall above the others that they cast a shadow over them.  To spend time in a grove of these trees, local legends say, is a mystical experience.

Hughes Manor

The Hughes estate, or what remains of it, sits high atop a plateau that overlooked what was once Wyvern City, now the misty and eerie Ashen Lake.  Built near the slopes of the forboding Mt. Jīnlóng, one of the largest and most volatile of the island's volcanoes, it is surrounded by the remains of the great Arch Trees that covered much of the plateau. Jungle foliage has overgrown the burned out ruins of this once proud home. A three story mansion that would have been a contender with the Schnee Family Estate for most grandiose homes in all of Remnant, now a blackened, charred ruin and shadow of its former self, along with the family that once occupied it. No one is sure what befell the once mighty Hughes clan, but now this house and the remains of Wyvern City below are all that are left to tell the tale.
