Yang x abused!Reader
-Your Pov-
You tried to pick yourself off the floor as your dad scoffed at you. " Look at you," he says. " Can't even defend yourself properly. You're a disgrace to this family." Angrily, you got up and then launched yourself at him, but then he punched you into the ground. He began to kick you around, and you couldn't even find the strength to lift your arms to defend yourself. Your older brother sits in the corner, also bruised. However, he manages to smirk at you. Each and every day, Mercury Black finishes the training with less bruises than you. Sometimes, your father Marcus even lets him join in on beating you down.
Marcus scoffs, and then walks off angrily. Your brother makes his way over to you, and then you look up at him, pleading with his eyes for help. He kneels in front of you, and reaches out his hand to you. When you hold out yours, he steps on it, and watches with delight as you cry out in pain. He eventually finishes crushing the bones in your hand to pulp, and then removes his foot to kick you in the chin. When he does, you feel a crack, and then fall backwards.
Trying to get up, you feel the bones in your wrist give out on you, and then lay back down on your face. You do the best you can to crawl your way to the small room you're in, and then force yourself onto the small bed you have. Lying down, you do the best you can to stop shivering, even though all you want at the moment is a blanket. Or maybe....for your mother to come back.
Caroline Black had been such an amazing person. You had no idea why she had fallen in love with Marcus. She had always done the best she could to talk care of you and Mercury. You had countless memories of her taking a beating so neither of you had to, or giving on of you her meals when Marcus had decided one of you should go without food. She would sometimes sneak into your room, and help silence your cries, or bring you a blanket when it was winter and Marcus insisted you went without them.
Of course, all this had been what got her killed. Marcus had decided she had been too soft on the two of you, and so she gave her an ultimatum. Either she was to beat you and Mercury senseless, or he would kill her. And your heart broke when she had said she would never lay a hand on either of your children. Marcus had found this angering, and so he beat her to death in front of the two of you, and then turned to the two of you with a warning. " This is what happens to good people in this world."
The next morning, you lay in bed, and then wake up to see Mercury leaning on the wall, a smirk on his face. " Oh hey little bro. Dad told me to wait for you to wake up," he says, a sadistic edge entering his voice. " He told me for every hour after when you're supposed to be up, I can do whatever I want with you. Get up."
Shakily, you rise to your feet, and then he kicks you in the knee. You cry out in pain, and then he begins to pummel you, until you feel something in you snap. As he throws a punch down at you, you move out of the way of it, and then headbutt him. As he stumbles back, you rise to your feet and start to growl. Purple light flies from you, and then he starts to run off. A few moments later, he comes back with Marcus, the two of them holding shotguns. The both of them fire at you, and you watch as the bullets crumble in the purple light.
Marcus sets down his shotgun, and then rushes for you. Ducking under a punch, you then uppercut, and watch as your fist goes into his chest, and cuts through it like butter. He cries out in pain as blood leaves him, and then he drops to the ground, lifeless. Mercury sees this, and then rushes you, and then tries to kick you. Grabbing his leg, you squeeze down on it, and feel the crushing sounds, and then let go of him.
When he's on the ground thrashing in pain, you step away and then run out of the house. The purple light fades from you, and then you run as far as you can, scared of everything. Scared that Marcus isn't really dead, and that he's going to come after you with a level of anger you've never seen before, scared that Mercury will find you, or that the police will. But above all, you're scared of yourself, and the fact that you killed a man and crippled your brother.

" Interesting," says the man sitting at the table across from you. Ozpin, if you remembered his name correctly. " Mr. Black, I cannot say enough how sorry I am that we couldn't have found you earlier. I apologize that you had to endure through all of that."
You nod at his answer, not really knowing what to say. An old drunkard named Qrow had found you, and took you here. Since then, they had been giving you shelter until you were ready to open up and tell them about what had happened to you. " How interesting," he muses when you describe the purple light that came from you. " Mr. Black, tell me, have you ever heard of a Semblance?"
As you shake your head, he sighs. " Have you heard of an aura?" You nod when he asks this. Marcus had unlocked both of your auras so he could kick the crap out of you without having to hold back, and so you wouldn't spend days recovering. " A Semblance is an extension of your aura, an ability we can use and tap into. Yours is incredibly powerful."
You don't know what you can say in response to this, and then he reaches out to place a comforting hand on your shoulder. " Would you like to come with me to Beacon Academy? We have someone who could train you in how to use your abilities and put them to use?"
" Yes," you eventually manage to tell him. " I always wanted to be a huntsman. But, I....what if I hurt someone by accident?"
" I may not have known you for long. But, I have a good feeling about you (y/n)," he says. " You have come from a very tragic background, but I believe you can be something more than that. I believe you're strong enough to not be the person they wanted you to be."

" Can I call you 'mom'," you asked Miss Goodwitch nervously. She had been the one who was training you to use your Semblance, and had been the one who was training you to fight before you would be allowed to go to Beacon. She tilts her head when you say this, and then you look down nervously.
You had been staying at her house as she was training you, and since she had no one else staying with her, and it was the best choice since she was already the combat teacher at Beacon. And in that time, she had come to show you a very kind side of herself that very few other people got to see, and it started to remind you of the motherly feelings you had had for Caroline. At first, you thought wanting to call Miss Goodwitch 'mom' was betraying her, but you realized this is what she would want for you.
" Of course you can," she says, and then you look up at her happily, and then she hands you some papers. " These are adoption papers. Ozpin suggested it to protect you in case anyone from the Black family came to look for you. I thought long and hard about it, but I decided that I would love to have you as my son."
Happily, you took the papers and began to sign them. " We can go down later to change your last name to 'Goodwitch' officially if you would like. Do you have everything you need for when you go to Beacon?"
The two of you begin to talk about it, and then she says she's going to miss spending as much time with you when you have to start as a student, and she has to start working more as a teacher. The two of you hug, and then you go to bed for the night, ready for the initiation the next day.

I sit at the table with my team, friends in JNPR and (y/n) Goodwitch. For some time, I've been intrigued with him. The way he carries himself, and the ease with which he wins all of his fights with. More than his power, I've also been interested in who he is. I've been interested in how one moment he can be putting Cardin through a wall, and the next he can be the sweetest guy, talking with Velvet and making sure she's okay. I've noticed he's a little bit shy, but I finally convinced him to eat lunch with us.
The nine of us all share some chuckles and laughs, and I notice how cute he is when he laughs, and then how happy he gets when he's around us. I invite him to spend more time with us whenever he wants, and then he agrees to do so. When we walk into combat class, I look at the screen and my eyes widen when I have to fight him.
We make our way down to the arena, and he looks at me nervously. " Hey," I tell him. " Don't think I'll hold back just because the two of us friends. I want you to go all out too okay?" He nods nervously, and then I decide to sweeten the deal. " How about this? If you win, I'll go on a date with you."
He blushes, and then the ground cheers, while Miss Goodwitch looks curiously at the two of us. The bell sounds, and then I rush at him, throwing some punches and kicks. He dodges them all with relative ease, and then I see purple light flood from him. The two of us begin to fight for a little bit, and then I feel my aura getting weaker, which doesn't make any sense to me. He hasn't landed a hit yet. Eventually, he fires a purple blast at me, and then my aura breaks and I fall down.
He rushes over to me, and then cradles me. " Oh god. I didn't mean to hurt you," he says, getting nervous. " I'm so so sorry. My Semblance...it's called 'Hakai.' It wears down the auras of people around me, and then I can use those destructive bursts. I didn't mean to hurt you Yang. I'm sorry." When he finishes this, I notice he has tears in his eyes.
" Hey, it's okay," I tell him. " I'm not hurt. Sure, you surprised me with that, and then I went flying. But, I'm fine. I'm a tough girl (y/n)." He lets out a sigh of relief at this, and he helps me up. I smile at him when I get up. " Let me know when you're ready for our date tonight."

You stand in the mirror, and put on a tie. " You look nice," says your mother, standing in the doorway. You turn around to see her in a simple, but somehow elegant dress. Tonight is a big night for the two of you, as you're bringing Yang home to meet your mother. Ever since you took Yang on that date, the two of you have been in a relationship.
Already, you had met her father, and he had actually approved of you. He had pretended to be a scary overprotective dad, but then softened when he saw how much you cared about Yang, and how much she cared about you. And so, Yang had asked to meet your family, and you were bringing her tonight to meet your mother.
There's a knock on the door, and then you go to answer it, and then smile when you see Yang, wearing a beautiful white dress. " Hey," she says. The two of you exchange compliments, and then sit down for a great dinner with your mother. With one more kiss, Yang goes back to her dorm for the night.
" I like her," says Glynda. " She obviously cares about you a lot too. But, I have to ask. Have you told her about your real family yet? If the two of you are going to be together, then she deserves to eventually know."
" I'm not ready yet," you say sadly. " And, it feels like lying to her. But, it isn't. I really do consider you a mother." She smiles, and then places a hand on your shoulder. " Can I just keep pretending I'm your son for her?"
" You are my son," she says simply. " But, the reality is you have another mother who also loved you. Yang deserves to know about her too. And, I can tell. She isn't going to make a big deal about it, and she isn't going to be angry with you.

I walk down the halls with (y/n), hand in hand. The two of us are working on handing out fliers and spreading information about the dance. I've been working on it really hard with Weiss, and I want to make sure as many people as possible are going to be there. We're almost out of fliers, and then making it down to the section of Beacon for the students staying at Beacon for the Festival. Once we pass out those fliers, then (y/n) and I can go on our date.
A student with gray hair walks down the halls, Mercury Black. I hand him one of the fliers, and then he thanks me for it. He sees (y/n), and then raises an eyebrow. " (y/n)," he says mischievously. " What are you doing here?"
For the first time since (y/n) thought he hurt me, I see him nervous. " Mercury. What do you want," he asks, voice just barely above a whisper.
" What? I'm not allowed to talk with my younger brother?" My eyes widen when he says this, and then (y/n) sprints down the halls of Beacon. I chase after him, and then find in his dorm, and I close the door behind the two of us.
" What the hell was that?" I ask him, and (y/n) refuses to answer. I start trying to ask him a series of other questions, but he refuses to answer, and then it eventually starts to really piss me off. " Tell me!" I finally shout at him, and I feel my eyes turn red.
To my surprise, (y/n) curls into a ball, and then begins to shake. When I see this, I force myself to take deep breaths, and calm down. My eyes turn back to blue, and then I kneel down next to him. He tries to crawl away from me, and I pull him into a hug. " I didn't mean to snap," I tell him. " Whenever you're ready, I'll listen to whatever you have to say."
" My dad used to beat me," he says. " And my mom...not Glynda, my birth mom was the only one who stood up for me. Mercury is my older brother, and he used to beat me as well. Glynda adopted me. I'm sorry I didn't tell you."
I tighten the hug as much as I can, not wanting to hurt him, but wanting him to feel all the warmth he can from me, and I begin to stroke his back when he breaks down crying. " Shhh. It's okay. I'm right here okay? I love you so much, and I'm never going to raise my hand against you. Whatever you want me to do, I'll do it if it helps you feel safe."
" Just hold me," he says.
" Okay," I tell him, and begin to rock him back and forth. " I love you."
" I love you too."
-Epilogue-
When Yang had comforted you on that day, you knew that you had to do something. Yang held your hand every step of the way as you told Ozpin that Mercury was here, and he had to have been planning something. With the other academies, he had conducted an investigation onto him, and had been able to arrest Mercury, Emerald and Cinder. Without them, Salem hadn't been able to complete her plans, and had been defeated.
Right now, you rested with your head in Yang's lap as she stroked your hair. The two of you married years ago, and had had a child together, a daughter named ( daughter name). And in all that time, Yang had kept her promise and never raised a hand against you. " I love you," you tell her.
" I love you too," she says.
( let me know what you thought)
