I sit in my dorm with Weiss, and she helps me go over some note we took together for the class, and then she helps me read from the textbook. Blake also sits in the corner, and then reads from one of her books, which is absolute filth from the pieces I ended up reading. I have no idea where Yang is, since maybe it means some peace and silence for my team. As much as I love Yang, I need to focus on studying with Weiss, since we have a big test coming up, and I need to pass to bring up my grade.

As I think that the fact Yang is missing, the door swings open, and then there stands my sister, arms in the air, hollering triumphantly. Blake sighs, knowing the silence is over and then she puts her book away, looking at it somewhat sadly. Weiss and Yang begin to playfully banter about her being too loud and ruining the peace, and I chuckle to myself when I'm able to see that my team has gotten to a point where we can playfully joke like this, as opposed to what it would have been like when we first got here, with Yang and Weiss actually arguing.

" Alright girls, I have the best news," says Yang, and we all look at her curiously. Blake looks at her a little bit skeptically since Yang has promised this time and time again. Weiss has her eyes raised in playful irritation and confusion, and I sigh. Whenever Yang promises that she has the best news ever, it usually means something has gone wrong. The last time she told me this, Dad and I ended up having to pick her up from Junior's when she had drunk dialed us. I wonder what it could possibly be this time.

" Okay, so I was just getting back from a detention with Miss Goodwitch, and then she told me something which I knew I needed to tell all of you. Ladies, the next few days, we're going to have all of our classes canceled," she says, and then all of us look at her in confusion.

" This isn't the first time you said this," says Blake, eyes narrowing as she looks for any evidence Yang is making this up. " And last time you said this, we all got detention for skipping class. I don't trust this."

Weiss and I agree with her point, and then add on other examples of when Yang has told us something that wasn't true as a prank, and so Yang sighs and jokes with us that we need to have more trust in her. " Come on guys," she says. " Have none of you seen the weather forecast? The biggest storm to ever hit Remnant is coming up. All areas are going to be losing power, and they want us to stay in our dorms and be save." All of us look at her, and then check our scrolls to see the confirmed news that a storm is indeed coming.

" Well, I might use this time to catch up on some reading," says Blake. " Even if we lose power, I have candles I can use to read. I was going to the bookstore later on today anyways. Do any of you girls want me to pick you anything up, since there's no way any of us are going to be going out during the power outage?"

" Maybe you could pick up some batteries for us," says Yang, and then Blake nods and begins to write down different requests for us to get, ranging from books to read, batteries and back-up generators as well as different food and drinks. The list gets rather long, and I haven't said anything, and then Blake looks over at me.

" C-cookies," I manage to tell her eventually, and she nods and writes it down. I can't tell any of my team, but if this is the biggest storm to hit Beacon, I'm scared out of my mind. Thunder has always been something that scared me a lot, just the sounds and then the flashes of lightning.

Blake nods, and then goes down with Weiss to get everything, and then Yang promises she'll join them after a little bit, and then they nod and go to wait downstairs for her. " Are you going to be okay Rubes," she asks, and then I sigh and look down.

" I'll be fine," I lie. Yang looks at me for a few moments, and then nods and then goes down to join Blake and Yang, and then I sit in the room and look outside the window, and whimper a little bit just when I see the rain already starting to fall.

Still, when they leave I find myself whimpering when I see the rain and wind already starting, and then I sigh and bury my heads in my hand. I find myself trying to keep taking deep breaths, and then forcing myself to calm down and look up to see the rain falling even harder now, and then my friends running from the rain. The wind even starts, and then Weiss even stumbles and trip. This is enough to make me really nervous, but I have to hold in another whimper when I realize that the storm hasn't even started yet, this is just something that comes before it.

I force myself to go out of the dorm, and take a walk down to Beacon's bakery and get a few cookies I can eat and calm me down. On the way down there, I bump into my friend, (y/n) and then fall down. He smiles at me, and then offers a hand, and helps me up. " Hey," he says. " I'm just getting some stuff since I'm not going to be able to leave the dorm." I nod at him, and then watch in awe as he goes outside and starts running down to the store to get something.

The first day we have off, I watch as Yang places new batteries into her Gameboy and then starts to play some old game from when the two of us were children. Weiss uses a candle Blake got and then reads from a textbook and takes notes. As this happens, I nibble on a cookie, trying to force myself to calm down and then remember that the full storm hasn't even started yet.

As I think this, the first flash of lightning, and I jump and hide under my cape for a little bit, before the rumble of thunder goes off, and I feel tears well in my eyes and I start to shake. My team asks me if I'm okay, but I shake my head, and then they ask what's wrong. I open my mouth to tell them, but another flash of lightning cuts me off, and then I dash out of the room with my Semblance.

A few moments later, I find myself in front of the door for (y/n) and his team. I knock on the door, and he opens it, and gives me a smile and ushers me in before closing the door behind me. " I have no idea where my team is," he says. " They probably went to get into trouble. So, it's just me in the dorm. What about you?"

" M-my team is in the dorm," I tell him, managing to stutter it out. He nods, and then his eyes widen when another flash of lightning goes out, and then I hide in my cape, and then shiver in place, especially when the thunder sounds and then I feel myself crying from how scared I am.

" You okay," he asks, kneeling down to look me in the eyes. I shake my head, and then he sighs. " I'm sorry, that was such a dumb question. Why would I ask that? How come you aren't with your team if you're scared?"

" I d-didn't w-want them to know how scared of thunder I am, and I told Yang I got over my fear when I was a kid, b-but this storm is really bad. I don't want them to know how bad it is," I tell him, and then he nods. He asks why I came to his dorm, and then I look down at my feet. " Y-you make me feel r-really safe."

" Well, I'm glad," he says. " Okay, well you can stay with me. This storm is going to last a couple days, so I made sure to stock up on food, and things like that. If you still have a signal, you might want to let your team know you're with me so they don't worry."

I nod and then try to text my team, but shudder when the text fails to send. He comes back to me with a cookie, and then I take it from him and try to eat it, but again drop it when thunder sounds outside. " I'm sorry," he says, and then he offers me a glass of milk and then I take it, and then drop it as I shiver.

" S-so-sorry," I tell him, praying to Oum he doesn't kick me out of his room for this, but to my surprise, he just smiles and then grabs a broom and dustpan and then goes to clean it up, and I look down in embarrassment.

" I'm not mad," he says. " It's just glass. I just need to clean it up so neither one of us gets hurt later. And it isn't your fault. You're scared out of your mind right now." I manage a smile at this, and then dash under his covers when I hear a burst of lightning.

" Can you sit down next to me," I ask, and then he looks over to see the lump under the covers which is me. " I just want to talk with you, and I want you to help me over my fear." I hear him agree, and then he makes his way over to me, and pulls away the covers to see me curled into the fetal position.

" So, can I ask why you're so scared of thunderstorms," he asks, and his eyes are full of sympathy, and then I nod and take deep breaths and he reaches over to place a hand on my shoulder. " You don't have to tell me if you aren't ready for it."

" M-my m-mom. When we found out she died, it was during a bad thunderstorm. All I wanted was for her to wrap her arms around me and tell me it was all going to be okay in the end," I tell him, and then he wipes a tear from my eyes.

" I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked you," he says, and then he pulls the covers over the both of us and looks down at me sympathetically. Another burst of thunder goes out outside, and then I latch onto (y/n), and he smiles at me, and wraps his arms around me and then he pulls me close to him.

" It's gonna be alright," he says, and I feel warmth radiating from him. I feel really safe when he does this, even with the sound of thunder outside. He places an arm on my back and then begins to rub my back. I feel myself getting choked up when he does this, remembering Summer having done this. Being here with (y/n) makes me feel so safe and I hug him back.

" Th-thank you (y/n)," I tell him. " I know being scared of thunder is a little bit childish, and I should have gotten over it." To my surprise, he kisses my forehead, and I fight a blush spreading around my body.

" It's okay. We all have things we're afraid of. I mean come on, Blake is scared of dogs, Yang is scared of getting her hair wet, Weiss is scare of spiders. And you know what terrifies me Ruby? Heights." I look up when he confesses this, and then I nervously reach up and then kiss his cheek. To my surprise, his fingers brush over where I kissed him, and he blushes.

" Why are you scared of heights," I ask him, and then his breath catches in his throat and I hug him tighter.

" My sister died in a plane crash. I was lucky when I survived that. I haven't been able to up high ever again," he says, and then his hug on me tightens and then I take my cape and then wrap it around the two of us as we sit under the covers.

" Hey, sounds like the storm is dying down a little bit," he says, and I thank Oum and the two of us keep holding onto each other. I feel my heartbeat slowing down as he rubs my back and peppers my head with kisses. " And so was your heartbeat. That's good. It was way to high for a few moments there. I was worried."

" Why were so worried," I ask. " And, why'd you let me stay in the dorms?" He smiles when I say this, and then he rubs the back of his head.

" Well, here's a confession. I kinda kicked my team out of the room since I wanted to spend time with you. I have a crush on you, so Yang told me this would be a good opportunity for us." I sigh when he says this, and then my eyes widen when I realized what it is he just said. I've had a crush on him for the longest time.

" I have a crush on you too," I tell him, but it all comes out as one word. (y/n) somehow knows what I mean, and then captures me in a kiss, which I practically melt into, and I do my best to kiss him back, and we draw away when we need more oxygen.

" That was something," he says. " I love you."

" I love you too," I tell him, and then the two of us kiss again, and then hold each other. Another burst of lightning goes off, and then I drape my cape over the two of us, and then listen to his beating heart to calm mine as the lightning goes off.
