Saying they love you

Ruby

It tends to take her a couple months before she's ready to say she loves you. She knows how important it is to say those words, and what they mean, but she has a really big heart and it doesn't take long in a healthy relationship for her to fall in love

Ruby does sometimes jokingly say it when you do things for her like make cookies, but she always lets you know when she is serious about saying it, because she knows how much it means to you

The first time she says she loves you, odds are she practiced it in the mirror to make sure she doesn't pass out, and usually had a lot of help from her team getting ready for it. It tends to all come out in one long sentence, full of her second guessing herself, and saying you don't have to say it back

When you say that you love her for the first time, she breaks out into a big smile, and then starts dashing around you with her speed, planting kisses on you the entire time

Weiss

Weiss is more guarded than a lot of people, and it takes her a long time to fall in love. She purposely has walls set up so she doesn't fall for someone to quickly. When she started dating you, she did fall in love with you, but it took her a very long time to let her open up and admit that she loved you

She never says it as a joke, since she remembers her father saying that to her mother, before dropping the facade. Weiss remembers how much that hurt her family, so she will never say she loves you or anyone if she isn't serious about it

When Weiss says she loves you for the first time, she's very nervous about it, even though she looks confident the entire time. The truth is, Weiss has been hurt by the people she's loved before, and so she wants to make sure you love her before she says it. But, watching her let down her guard is beautiful

Once you tell Weiss you love her for the first time, Weiss tries her best to be calm about it. She initially has some doubts and wants to make sure, but once she knows you're serious, it allows her to open up to you, and show you every bit of her.

Blake

She falls in love with you after dating you, however she won't let herself admit it to anybody, including herself. It isn't that her feelings aren't real, but she remembers the feelings she had for Adam and how they had hurt her so much, and because of that, she's reluctant to admit she loves you

Blake knows how powerful the words are, and so will never joke about it, knowing full well how much people are willing to forgive if the other person loves them, and so she refrains from saying it jokingly, and is very clear with you she doesn't want you to joke about it either.

Once Blake is willing to admit she's in love with you, she needs time before she tells you. In this time, she reads a lot of romance novels before, and you can expect her confession to be equally sappy and poetic.

Telling Blake for the first time is difficult for you to do, because you want her to know you mean it and not push you away. But when you tell Blake, she smiles, and then says it herself if she's ready. Even if she isn't ready to say it back, it means a lot to her

Yang

She falls in love quickly, maybe only a few months. Yang just has such a big heart, and feels all emotions in extremes, and so it doesn't take her long for the attraction she has for you turn into feelings of love

Yang isn't scared to tell you she loves you. She thinks she has the feeling, and so you deserve to know since the two of you are dating. Yang does wait a little bit, just so you know she's serious about it

Sometimes, Yang does playfully say she's in love with you, but only after you know she really is in love with you, just so she doesn't hurt your feelings somehow

Yang is very direct when she says that she loves you. She doesn't lead into it or anything. The two of you will be having a conversation, and then she'll just tell you out of nowhere

Telling Yang you love her is usually cut off by her kissing you, and then saying she loves you too. But, sometimes she does let you finish, only so she can jokingly help you come up with different ways to confess

Winter

Winter is exceptionally guarded. It's a result of both her childhood with the Schnee family, and the formal military training she received. It can take her years before she's ready to say she loves you

Winter isn't fond of simply saying she loves you. She prefers to let it show in her actions. To her, anyone can say those three words, but fewer people can prove it. She knows you know her feelings are authentic, however she sometimes will say she loves you, usually on anniversaries or important days in your relationship

Telling Winter you love her is difficult for you, since you can't help but be a little saddened when she doesn't say it back. Winter has picked up on this, and made it one of her goals to be more open when you say this, as a way to show you she loves you as well

Neo

Neo won't tell you she loves you until you do first. She wants to make sure it's a sure thing, and doesn't want to be have to be vulnerable as she waits for your answer

She's saddened she can't say it with her voice, so she often texts you and uses sign language to say she loves you. She does this frequently, as if trying to make up for the fact you can't hear her say it.

Neo is sometimes insecure about not being able to tell you she loves you out loud, and you have to convince her you know she loves you, and the ways she can tell you matter just as much, if not more than if she simply said it

You tell Neo you love her a lot, but to make her feel better, you don't always say it out loud, instead using sign language and writing notes for it.

Velvet

Velvet takes some time to fall in love with you, but it takes her a long time to be able to say it. She's very shy, and worried she fell in love too quickly and that telling you her feelings will push you away from her, which is the last thing she wants to do

When she does tell you she loves you, you can usually bet it was about a month after she fell in love, and it's only happening because of countless pep talks from Team CFVY, and her hyping herself up

The confession isn't some elegant thing by any means. She just stutters, until she eventually forces herself to power through, and then she says it all in one word, talking quickly.

When you tell her you love her, it breaks your heart to hear her ask if you mean it, and if you're certain, but you never mind telling her over and over again that there's no other girl in Beacon you would rather be with.
