Bookworms of Love: Blake x Reader
-Tai Pov-
I smile to myself as I introduce my son to my group of friends from Beacon as they all react with different emotions and expressions. I chuckle as I confirm for them multiple times that he is indeed my son. They all begin to ask me questions about this, as if to make sure I'm qualified to be a father. I chuckle when they say this, and then answer all of their questions they have. Seeing them all so happy makes me smile, and then remember the times I had went to Beacon with all of them, and I know it makes them happy to see me happy. Ever since Raven left, all of them have been monitoring me, and making sure I don't do anything stupid.
" How old are you," asks Glynda as she sits down next to (y/n), and then he nervously holds up four fingers, and then she laughs a little when he does this, and then she turns to me. " Even for four years old, he seems awfully polite to be yours." I chuckle when she says this, and then explain how Summer has been insisting on teaching him manners, and then they laugh when I say this, knowing of course it would be Summer.
" I can feel a lot of aura from him," says Qrow. " Is he strong like all of us are?" When he asks this, I sigh and then cross my arms in a show of joking irritation as I think about how I can answer the question.
" That is, I know he has it in him," I tell them. " But, Summer has been insisting he focuses on his studies. She says the world is peaceful now, so if he doesn't want to be a huntsman, then I shouldn't force him. It's such a waste."
We all begin to joke about this, and then I ruffle (y/n)'s hair. " Well, he and I have to get back in if we want to be home by his bed time. Summer gets pretty bad at me if I miss that," I tell them, and then we all laugh. Picking (y/n) up, I put him on my back and then walk him to the car, and then start to drive back home.
When I get home, Summer is already waiting for the two of us, and then she smiles. I set (y/n) down and he runs over to her and hugs her. She hugs him back and then takes him to bed. Summer comes back down after a few moments, and then starts to open a bottle of wine for me, since she can't drink because she's pregnant with Ruby. " How's Yang," I ask her.
" She went to bed a little while ago," she tells me. " She tried to stay up long enough to see (y/n) when the two of you got back, but she wasn't able to. So, I put her to bed. We have to go to a sonogram tomorrow." I nod, and then two of us begin to talk, and then I smile at her before the two of us decide to go to sleep ourselves.
-Timeskip Your Pov-
You sit in your room, happily reading to yourself. The teacher had offered anyone a chance for extra credit if you read it, and then did a book report on it, and so you had gladly accepted, both because you wanted the extra credit and because you loved reading and studying. Both of your sisters ran around outside, and then they both waved when they saw you and offered for you to come and join them.
However, you continued to read after explaining it to them. They just shrugged and then went back to playing. A few moments later, the door opened and then Tai walked in, and then smiled when he saw you.
" Hey kiddo," he says. " Why aren't you playing outside with your two sisters? It's beautiful out there today." You then explain everything to him about how you wanted the extra credit for class, and then you wanted to finish reading this book by yourself, and then he nods when you say this, and then thinks for a few moments.
" Why don't you go play outside with your sisters until dinner," he says. " It's a beautiful day, and I don't want you to spend it all cooped up in here by yourself. When you come in for dinner, you can read your book for the rest of the day."
You want to tell him 'no' and that you would be happier in your room just reading, but he didn't phrase it as a question, rather something that was going to happen regardless of how much you wanted it to. And so, you got up and set your book down. You knew how scary Tai could be when he got angry and started yelling, and you didn't want to be on the receiving end of that, and so you ran outside and waved at your two sisters.
The three of you then played all kinds of different games until dinner was ready, and then the three of you had a great time. However, once you had a chance to go back to reading your book in silence. After a few moments, you heard a conversation downstairs with Tai and Summer. You listened in a little bit, and heard the two of them talking calmly, but you hear your name being mentioned several times, which makes you curious and so you start to eavesdrop.
Tai: It just seems like a waste is all.
Summer: What does?
Tai: He has more aura than I've ever sensed. I know he could be one of the greatest huntsman of all time if trained.
Summer: We have to let him pick his own path in life. Not everyone wants to be a huntsman.
Tai: I know, and I'm going to be proud of him no matter what, but I just wish he at least gave the idea some thought.
Summer: Tell you what? How about you start training him a little bit more and then I study with him? That way he can make the most educated choice about what he wants to do.
You smiled when you heard her say this. It didn't seem like a bad idea at all. You did genuinely enjoy training with Yang and Ruby, but just didn't like how far Tai took it sometimes, and you loved studying with Summer. It seemed like a nice compromise between the two of them, especially if they'll let you train but still become a scholar.
At first, the schedule you have is both of training and studying as had been promised. You were getting stronger and stronger, as well as smarter. However, one day Summer was reported to have died on a mission, and then your life was turned upside-down. You missed coming home from school to jump into her arms and be hugged tightly.
On top of that, Tai than began to siphon the studying out of your lifestyle. He insisted that the world wasn't as safe as Summer had thought it was, and then started to train all three of you more, not giving as many days for rest. This was fine for Yang and Ruby, but it was a serious problem for you. Your grades all started to slip, and you didn't know if you would be able to make it into the academy you wanted at this rate.

I sigh and then smile a little bit when I see (y/n) passed out in a crater in a field. I pick him up, and then begin to walk towards the house. He's been getting stronger and stronger thanks to Tai training him more and more. I know (y/n) may not necessarily want this, but I hope he one day sees that this was all for the best, both me leaving him and Tai pushing him this hard.
" I'm sorry," I tell him, knowing he's asleep and can't hear me. " One day, you'll understand why I had to leave the house. It isn't that I didn't love you, so don't think that. You're my son after all. But, I need you to be strong. It's the one thing your idiot father is right about. The weak get swallowed in this world, and I never want that to be you."
I manage to sneak him into the house without being detected, and then I set him down on the bed gently, and then pull the covers over him, and kiss his forehead. " You'll see one day," I tell him. " I love you." With that, I open another portal and then step through it back to my bandit tribe.

The airship touches down at Beacon, and then you stretch as the doors open. Ruby begins to babble in awe about how big the place is, and then Yang look at Ruby with a mischievous look on her face. " Well, I see some of my friends, I have to go." She says that, and then dashes off, leaving you and Ruby there dumbfounded.
Ruby looks at you expecting support, however you also leave her, wanting to go to the library of Beacon, and see what they have to offer. When you get down there, you see a girl with black hair and amber eyes also looking down the shelves. You offer her a small smile when you see her, and then she returns a small one of her own before leaving with a large stack of books.
That night, you find her and then make your way over to her, and then sit down next to her. " I'm (y/n)," you tell her. " (y/n) Branwen." As you reach into your bag to pull out the book you're reading right now, she smiles when introduce yourself.
" Blake Belladonna," she says. " What are you reading?" You show her the cover of the book you've been reading, and then she smiles. " I've read that before. It's really good." You smile when she says this, and then the two of you start to talk about the different books you've read, as well as recommendations you have for each other.
Your two sisters come over, and then try to talk to Blake, but she gives curt answers, clearly wanting to just go back to the conversation she was having with you, as well as her book, which is a feeling you can understand. You love the two of your sisters dearly, but sometimes they are a little bit much, especially when all you want to do is read in peace.
However, you smile when you see Blake start to open up to them slowly, but then this is ruined when a girl with white hair comes over to the four of you, and then she begins to yell, prompting an argument, which makes you sigh. Blake taps you on the shoulder, and then you look over as she blows out the candle in the room, which makes you laugh.

I sit in my dorm, and try my best to focus on the book (y/n) gave to me to read, which happens to very good. I probably might have finished it by now if I didn't have to keep reading the same paragraph because of the noise in the room. Ruby pesters Weiss to let her copy the notes for the chapter, as Weiss argues with her to be more responsible. As this is happening, Yang is in my ear, asking me the same question over and over again. " Do you have a crush on my brother," she asks, and then I roll my eyes each and every time at the question.
" No," I tell her, and then read the same paragraph again as she continues to ask the question, and then listing things, more and more evidence to support the claim she made. No matter how many times I tell her I don't, she insists I have a crush on her older brother.
" I mean, I've only seen you smile at him. You laugh at his stupid jokes and not my awesome puns, and you spend more time with him than you do the rest of us," she says, and then I roll my eyes at that. I look to Weiss and Ruby, hoping one of them will be the voice of reason, however they both betray me and then end up adding on to what Yang says.
This goes on for about an hour, and then I decide to just end this for the sake of my sanity. " Yes, I have a crush on him," I whisper, and then blush and hide my face behind my book, and then the three of them all shout that they knew it, and then start to collect bet money from each other, which makes me roll my eyes and make a note to get back at them somehow.
To my surprise however, they drop the teasing and then Yang sits down next to me. " You could do a lot worse than my brother," she says, and I know she has a point. He's smart, which I know from his perfect grades, strong which I know from seeing him fight in class, funny, as he can make me laugh and kind since I always see him stand up for the faunas CRDL bullies, which gives me hope I can one day tell him the entire truth about me.
Ruby and Yang sit on opposite sides of me, and then begin to give me all kinds of advice for how to get (y/n), and then I smile seeing how supportive the two of them are being, and then I take out my scroll and begin to text with (y/n), filtering texts with the help of my three team members.
-Timeskip Your Pov-
You lay with Blake, her head on your lap as she reads something to you. The two of you have been dating for some time, thanks in no small part to help from your two sisters, which you appreciated. Every since you had seen Blake, you had a crush on the girl, and you knew you probably wouldn't have been brave enough to act on it by yourself.
As she reads, she eventually stops. " Hey (y/n), what do you think of the White Fang?" You wonder why she's asking you this, but in the end, you just shrug. Blake talks with all kinds of things with you, and nothing has ever been off limits, so there's no reason why the White Fang wouldn't be something the two of you talk about, especially since the two of you have been working harder than ever to stop them.
" I think for the most part, they're misguided. I think they're victims in a cycle of violence, and that for most of them, they have no other choice if they want to make a respectable living. Both sides have responsibility for the state of affairs, and I think that the cycle of hatred feeding itself isn't good for either side," you say, and then Blake takes a deep breath when you say this, and then she begins to undo her bow, revealing a pair of cat ears.
" I used to be part of the White Fang," she says nervously. " We were a peace group when I joined, but I left when it started getting violent. We were being treated equally, but out of fear, not respect."
You smile and then kiss her forehead. " I know Blake. I'm not stupid," you tell her. " I knew you were a faunas, and I suspected you were part of the White Fang when you asked, and then judging by how you reacted when you answered. It doesn't matter to me."
-Blake Pov-
Tears well in my eyes when he says this, and then I bury my head in his chest, and returns the hug. He holds me for a little bit, and then pulls away when I stop crying, an then I take a deep breath and then explain everything to him about how my parents left the White Fang before I did, and how they were disappointed in me.
" I don't think they are Blake," he says. " I think they want what's best for you, and that in the end, they'll see you trying to make a better life for yourself, and that's going to be the only thing that matters to them."
" What about your parents," I ask him. " You never talk about them" I feel (y/n) tense up when I mention this, and then he sighs.
" Well, my mother Raven left when I was young. And then Tai basically forced me to train with him every day, and yeah. The only one of them I could really talk to was Summer, but she passed away on a mission. So, the only living family I have left is disappointed in me."
When he says this, I capture his lips with a kiss, and then he returns it after a little bit. " I love you though," I tell him. " I like that you're strong, but also a bookworm. I love you for who you are, and not for your power."
" I never really wanted to be a huntsman," he admits. " I mean, I enjoy all of this. But, all I really wanted was to be a scholar. And yet somehow, I keep finding myself on the front lines."
" I know what you mean," I tell him. " All I want is to be able to read with you like this forever. I love you (y/n).
" I love you too Blake," he says, and then I smile and rest my head on his chest as the two of us read together, and I'm so happy I found my bookworm of love.
-Epilogue your pov-
You come home after a long day, and then see Blake cooking something in the kitchen. You make your way over to her, and then kiss her. She smiles, and then asks how your day was. " It was great," you tell her. " A long, but rewarding day for the hero of justice, the Great Saiyaman!'
She giggles when you say this, happy that you found a job that lets you make a stable living to support her, and your daughter, who currently stands in the kitchen. " The Great Saiyaman is lame," says Pan and your jaw drops. " What's with his stupid cape and helmet?"
" Your aunt Ruby wears a cape," you point out defensively. " And you think that's cool."
" Her cape is cooler than yours," says Pan. " And the helmet is dumb." You pretend to be hurt when she says this, and then Pan giggles. " I still love you though." When she says this, you perk up right away, only to see Blake giggling as well.
" The Great Saiyama is a little lame," she agrees. " But, I love you too."
( let me know what you thought)
