Blake x smoker Reader
-Your Pov-
You smiled when you looked up from your book to see all the members of your team, as well as Team RWBY. All of you were at a party set up by Yang and Nora. You had at first not wanted to go to the party, but it looked like everything was having a good time, which made you smile. Right now, you and Blake had found an area of the room that was relatively silent, and the two of you took the this to read together. The two of you had been reading from the same book together, having gone back and forth on recommendations, until settling on a novel exploring the warrior culture of some old society.
Every so often, people would come over to the two of you asking one of the two of you to be part of some drinking game, or something else to that effect. However, the two of you both would decline, and then insist that you were having a good time and then they eventually decided to leave you alone. You smiled at this. Peace and quiet with Blake was one of your favorite things in the world to do, and it was nice that the two of you had finally gotten this. Recently, the two of you have been so busy lately.
As you had this thought, you looked over at Blake, and she glanced up to smile at you. The two of you then go back to reading, and then you smile to yourself again. There are times when you can talk to Blake for hours at a time about every subject there is under the sky. And then there were times when the two of you could sit in complete in silence, and it wouldn't be awkward between the two of you at all. You had no preference for which it was, as you loved being able to spend time with Blake in any capacity. The silence was comfortable, and it was nice to be with Blake.
The silence and tranquility is ended when you look up to see Sun. His shirt is unbuttoned and then he leans one arm on the wall. His free hand makes a finger gun and Blake, and then he winks. To your surprise, Blake giggles at this, and then hides her face with her book. He then sits down next to her, and begins to flirt with her. And then to your surprise, she actually starts to flirt back with him.
This surprises you. Of course you had known about the crush Sun has on Blake. However, until tonight, Blake had given no sign she had any interest in him. She tolerated his flirtation but never returned it. You had picked up on some subtle clues that she might like him back, but all you ended up doing was holding up a small piece of hope. But, seeing her flirt back with him made you realize that she did indeed return his feelings.
A cold feeling goes through your chest, and your heart sinks. Glancing over, you see the way Blake is looking at him, and then you wince. She's never looked at you like that. Something in you really hurts all of a sudden, and then you stand up and turn to leave. Blake doesn't notice you as you turn to leave, which makes you have to swallow a lump in your throat.
When you open the door and then close it behind you, you aren't surprised when no one follows you or asks where you're going. Other than Blake and her team, not a lot of people noticed you or paid much attention to you. It was never a fact that bothered you, as long as you had Blake to spend time with. But, it looked like you didn't even have that anymore seeing as how you might as well not have even existed.
Leaving the academy, you then head down to Vale and then begin to walk. You have your hands in your pockets, and then you try your best to clear your head. For those moments, you allow your mind to wander, hoping that you can take your mind off Blake, and yet all your thoughts go right back to that image. That look in her eyes when she saw Sun....she never looked at you that way. She always looked at you like someone looks at a brother, or at their best friend.
You let out another loud sigh, and then make your way into the main city of Vale. Eventually, you come across a small stand with someone sitting behind it. You looked at what he had with him, the drinks, beers and all things of that manner. You briefly considered getting something to eat since you hadn't eaten since the party started. However, your eyes wander until you see a pack of cigarettes behind the counter.
Before you met Team RWBY, you had been a smoker. It was never so bad that you would call it an addiction. You had one or two cigarettes here and there, and they always calmed you down. Ever since you had met RWBY however, you had stopped smoking. They never had figured out about your old habit, but you had wanted to stop. They all were some of your best friends, and you didn't want them to worry about you. There had been times where you had felt the urge to smoke, but had always suppressed it.
Tonight however was different. You bought the pack of cigarettes and then a lighter from him. Once you made it a good distance away from the city, you opened the pack and then put one in your mouth. You hesitated for a few moments, but then you thought of the look that Blake had given Sun, the look she had never given you. And then with a sigh, you take the lighter and then light the cigarette.
The initial wave hit you, and then you let out a long sigh as you breathed out. The smoke burned you for a few moments, and then stung your eyes. However, that same calming feeling went through you, like always when you had used to smoke. A calming feeling goes through you, and then it's enough to make you forget about how this all started in the first place.
Once you finish the cigarette, you place the pack and lighter into your jacket, and then go into a convenience store. You buy a pack of gum, and then a thing of deodorant, like you always had to use when you smoked. Putting some of the gum in your mouth and spraying yourself with the deodorant, you eventually convinced yourself that you smelled fine, and so you made your way back to the dorm.
Opening the door, you see the rest of your team, and they all seem tired, but also happy from the party. They all ask you where you went, and then you tell them you went for a walk in Vale. Luckily, none of them have asked you if you smoked, so clearly you did a good enough job of hiding it. " Oh," says Amanda, the leader of the team, and practically your older sister. " I thought you should know. Blake and Sun are a couple now."
The rest of your team offers their sympathies, and then you just blankly nod. You tell them you're going to be fine, and then they nod before going to sleep quickly. Lying in the bed, you curled yourself into a ball, and hugged your knees. And then you began to drift asleep as some tears dripped from your cheeks.
You woke up in the morning, earlier than the rest of your team. Checking your phone, you see all it is is texts from the various people who knew about your crush on Blake, giving you a heads-up that Blake and Sun were a couple now so you could be prepared the next time you saw them. Seeing all of these, you headed upstairs to the rooftop of Beacon.
Lighting another cigarette, you used it to relax yourself. You were crying now, a mix of the smoke in your eyes and then the feelings of knowing Blake was with Sun. Eventually, you finished the cigarette and then used the deodorant and then gum to take the scent away, and then you go downstairs and get dressed for the day. Your team all gives you sympathetic looks, and then you give them a small, sad smile.
Time and time again, you tell yourself that you're ready to see Blake and Sun together. It might hurt, but you tell yourself that you're ready for it. But then you see Blake in with Sun's arm around her as she smiles with him, the same look in her eyes. Your heart aches, and then you ask to be excused to the bathroom, and then you take a cigarette and then smoke, crying again, clearly not having been ready to see them together.
-Blake Pov-
I sit with (y/n) in the library and then he reads from his book. As he does this, I use my scroll to text Sun. The two of us have been dating ever since the party Yang held, and then right now, I was texting him to coordinate a date with him. I'm also texting Yang and she's helping me come up with flirty texts to get Sun rushing over here, since I want to go on this date with him. (y/n) tries to get my attention, and it isn't that I'm ignoring him. I just need to focus on this. I'm going to talk with him later.
When I put down my scroll, I turn to talk to (y/n). " Never mind," he says, seemingly a little bit hurt. Before I can even open my mouth to say anything, Sun strides into the room. He gives a really big smile, and then he makes his way over to me, and places an arm around me. The two of us start to talk, before agreeing to go on the date we had been talking about.
Once we finalize our plans, I turn to see (y/n), and then say goodbye to him, and then apologize for ignoring him. However, I see that he's completely gone, having pushed in his chair and then left. I sigh when I see this. I know he and I haven't been spending as much time together recently since I had gotten with Sun, and that might have hurt him. He didn't have all that many friends, and liked to spend all of his time with me. On top of that, he could be a little bit sensitive, wanting someone to spend a lot of time with him, and feeling neglected if someone ignored him.
I couldn't help but feel bad when I realized I might have been neglected him. I know how much he enjoyed spending time with me, and lately I had been spending much more time with Sun. It wasn't that I didn't enjoy spending time with (y/n). It was just that my relationship with Sun was so knew, and I wanted to make sure it started well, since I really liked him. The entire reason that Yang had held that party was for Sun to get a chance to tell me his feelings.
However, I make a not to spend more time with (y/n). I know he probably feels left out, and might be a little hurt, which was never my intention. As for now though, Sun offers me his hands, and I take it smiling and then the two of us walk down to our date, those thoughts of spending more time with (y/n) pushed out of mind for a moment.

Sighing, the cigarette dangled from your mouth as you lazily held onto it and smoked. Ever since Blake had been with Sun, you had been smoking more and more. It had at first been only when you were sad or when you saw Blake and Sun interacting as a couple. You still did the best you could to only smoke when those conditions were met. However, as time went on, you felt yourself getting sadder and sadder, and smoking more and more.
Once you finished this one, you opened your pack of gum and then saw that it was empty. And so, you sigh. Going to your thing of deodorant and then try to spray it on yourself. However you see that it's empty as well, or at the very least, firing practically nothing. Rolling your eyes, you placed it away. That was just your luck with how terribly today was going.
In no particular order, you had woken up late, failed a test, been yelled at by a teacher, and then you had thought spending time with Blake would make you feel better. But then, she had ignored you the entire time to text Sun, and then when Sun had came, she didn't even notice when you left. You were sure you had worse days in the pass, but you couldn't think of anything like that for now.
Being ignored by Blake like that sucked. You had been ignored your entire life by your parents, and had to beg for their attention, which they would give but be angry the entire time. Blake had been one of the first people to willingly pay attention to you, and make you feel like you were special, and worth paying attention to. But, all of that had gone out the window once she had started dating Sun.
As you had this thought, you bumped into Blake, and then fell over. As you did, the pack of cigarettes you carried with you falls out, and then her eyes widen. Cursing to yourself, you quickly began to gather them all up, but it wasn't quick enough. She looks at you, concern in her eyes, and you roll yours, prepping for a long conversation.
Blake: You smoke?
You: You care?
Blake: Of course I care! You're my best friend
You( scoffs): Yeah, okay.
Blake: What's that supposed to mean?
You: I mean, you haven't acted like my friend lately
Blake: I....
You: I have to beg for your attention every time these days, and even then I only get it about half the time. And if you're with Sun, then just forget it.
Blake: (y/n)...I...
You: I mean, it's like I had never been born or something when you're with him
Blake: Don't say that.
You: Well, I mean, it's true. Whenever your with Sun, I could leave the room, and your life would be no different. You don't even notice me.
Blake: I do notice! When you left the library today, I noticed that. I was going to talk with you about it later.
You: Yeah well, I gotta go.
Blake: Not until you tell me why you've been smoking.
You( voice-breaking and crying): Because of you! Because you're with Sun. Because I'm in love with you, and I hate seeing you with him. Because you made me feel really special and then you left me all alone.
Blake: (y/n)....I need to tell you something. Sun and I broke up.
You: What?
Blake: He realized I had feelings for someone else, and then broke up with me because he wanted me to be happy.
You: Who is that person?
She surprises you at this, standing on her tiptoes, she pulls you into a deep kiss, and then she pushes you away angrily.
Blake: Urh. You taste like cigarettes! I'm sorry. I need you to stop that.
You: I'll stop. But, I want something from you in return.
Blake: What?
You: I need you to sleep more. I can tell you haven't been sleeping well lately.
Blake: Fine. If you stop smoking, then I'll start sleeping as much as I need to.
With this, you smile at her and then pick her up to make sure she follows through with her promise. You then carry her to the dorm, and tuck her into the bed. Before you get in to cuddle with her, you brush your teeth thoroughly and then throw the rest of the cigarettes in the trash. Making your way over to her, she smiles and then begins to cuddle you. " I want you to take better care of yourself," she says. " I love you.
" I love you too Blake," you tell her as you start to fall asleep, as she does also.
( let me know what you thought)
