Blake x male reader songfic ( Something Just like this)
-Your Pov-
You stood in the library/bookstore and hummed something to yourself as you started to re-stack the books. You loved working here, this combination of a library and a bookstore, which were two of your favorite places in the world separately, but combining them as your boss had was a thing of genius. Customers could come in, and check out a book, and return it if it wasn't too their liking, or if they did want it, they could simply buy it like at a bookstore. Finding this place had been a stroke of luck for you, since you needed a job anyways, and you just adored reading. It was something you could easily spend all day doing. The work hours were nice, and you were able to spend most of them reading.
As you think this to yourself, the bell on the door rings when someone enters. You look over to the entrance to see someone you haven't seen before. A girl, about your age. She's a little bit taller than you, with a bow on her head, piercing amber eyes and stunning raven black hair. You find yourself staring for a little bit, until your coworker, Callum pats you on the shoulder. " That's Blake," he explains. " She's a regular here. She goes to Beacon, so hasn't had time to be here in awhile, which is why you haven't seen her yet."
Nodding, you go back to filing the books in the computer catalog, and then Blake makes her way over to the two of you. " Hey Blake," says Callum. " We ordered Ninjas of Love Volume 3 for you, but it hasn't come in yet. We might have some of the other stuff you asked for in the back."
She smiles at the two of you softly, and you feel your cheeks tint red with a blush. " My team leader actually wants me to find some books on fighting. She wants to come up with some new team attacks for the Vytal Festival. And, my friend wanted me to come in and get some comics."
Callum looks back and forth between the two of you, and then gets a mischievous smirk on his face. " Okay then. (y/n) here is the one who puts the books back and does the catalogs. I just sit here and check him out. It'll be more helpful for him to go with you. Plus, that's his genre anyways."
You nervously try to tell Callum that you're sure Blake doesn't want to go with you, but instead she offers you a small smile. As you blush, you stand up and then begin to walk her down to the section where the books she's looking for can be found. When she gets to the comics section, she asks you what you think her friend would enjoy, and then she describes someone who's energetic and carefree most of the time.
" Well, it depends to be honest," you tell her, your nervousness around her fading when you get a chance to talk about the one thing you feel confident in your abilities to handle. " She might like some of the series we have but it depends on how far she is in the continuity....and, I'll shut up now." You trail off, rubbing your arm. You hadn't meant to go into a full explanation. Now, Blake probably thought something was wrong with you.
" I was listening," she promises, which surprises you. " My friend doesn't really read a lot of comics, but if you could just find her something with mindless action, then she would be happy with it. And, thank you so much for helping today (y/n)."
Shyly, you nod and then walk down with her to the front desk, and Blake sets the books down on the counter. As Callum brings something up to help her check the books out, he turns to you and gives one of his smiles. Blake turns to leave after exchanging some pleasantries with him, and then Callum suddenly looks like he's found the best idea in the world.
" Hey Blake. Why don't you give (y/n) the number to your scroll? That way he can text you when the new volume of Ninjas of Love is in, and then he can also help you pick out books for you and your team. He's a bookworm like you, so maybe it'll help," he says. You're about to reach over and throttle him, until Blake nods like it's a good idea and makes her way over to you, and asks for your scroll.
Nervously, you reach into your pocket and hand it to her. She takes it, and then creates her contact in her phone, and hands it back to you. As you take it, your fingers brush, and a jolt of electricity shoots through your body. She doesn't seem to notice, and she leaves the shop after saying goodbye one more time.
When she leaves, Callum comes over to you. " Someone has a crush," he observes. " I think I deserve a thanks. You got her number because of me." This makes you chuckle, and you look at her number in your phone. " Remember the three day rule," he says. You nod and pretend to me listening, already thinking of going home just to text her.
-Blake Pov-
Three days later, I sit in the dorm with the rest of my team. We're doing some last minute studying for a test we have later this week, and while Weiss and I could easily pass, we have to help our less studious companions. I find myself enjoying the chaos it comes with now instead of loathing it like I would have before. As I think this, my scroll rings.
(y/n): Hey Blake
Me: Hey (y/n)
(y/n): Just wanted to let you know. Callum and I went through the shipments earlier today. The new volume of Ninjas of Love is in.
Me: Really? Okay I can be down there later on today. I'll return all of my books today to. Sorry about the overdue ones.
(y/n): It's fine. We won't charge you a late fee
Me: No, it's fine I can pay it.
(y/n): This is your first time being late with books, and it's fine. Honestly, I think it's more important you're reading at all
Me: Are you sure Callum is gonna be okay with it?
(y/n): He's taking some time off with his fiance, so I'm in charge until he gets back. If he has a problem with it when he does get back, I'll take the late fee out of my paycheck.
I smile at this, and send him a text to let him know I'll be on my way. I head down to the store, and think about him. I only met him a few days ago, but he's such a kind person, and he also loves to read. I wish he went to Beacon with us to train, if only to spend more time with someone else who liked reading, and would respect my desire for silence when I did read, as opposed to Ruby and Yang. When I get to the store, I head in and he hands me Ninjas of Love.
The two of us talk for a little bit, just him asking if I found everything I needed, or if I wanted to place another order. I turn to go eventually, and he calls my name. I turn around to see him rubbing the back of his head. " Do you wanna go to the movies with me tonight? They're making a film adaptation of one of my favorite books, and I wanted to go and make fun of it."
I chuckle when he mentions this. Making fun of bad book-to-film adaptations was only one of my favorite things to do, and so I nod, wanting also to spend more time with him. We've been so busy lately dealing with the White Fang that I haven't had a whole lot of time to myself. And so, the two of us go down to the theater.
" Do you want to share a popcorn," he asks. " I can get us two if you want, but I just figured I could save a few lien." I nod, and then the two of us get our snacks and then go into the theater and then sit down. The two of us both reach for popcorn at the same time, and our fingers brush together. I thank Oum the lights start to down so he won't be able to see my rising blush.

I run from the dorms, so angry with myself and everything at the moment. I had finally been starting to fit in with the team, and get used to having them all with me, and they were finally starting to come around to me. Rain starts to fall, and I curse myself for not having been able to control my temper. If I had, then I could have belonged at Beacon. As I run, I sadly remove the bow.
I don't know where I'm running, and so I find myself moving without any direction, before I find myself outside of the door to the bookstore. Looking in, I see (y/n) standing there, talking to Callum. I make my way closer to the door, hiding under the rain from it. Somewhat curiously, I listen into their conversation.
Callum: You've been spending a lot of time with Blake lately
(y/n): Yeah, I like her a lot. She's funny, cute, kind, smart. I dunno man.
Callum: I since a 'but' in there somewhere.
(y/n): It's just....she goes to Beacon for school, learning to be a huntsman. And, I stake books on the shelf. And I love this job, it's just that she probably has a boyfriend who's learning how to be a huntsman. She would never like a guy like me.
Callum: Blake wouldn't care about any of that. If she likes someone, it won't be for their abilities. If she likes someone, it'll be for who they are.
(y/n): I dunno man. She's this incredible girl, and I'm me.
I hear them continue to talk about me, and then I sigh. I had really been starting to fall for him, and now this happens. There's no way he would be willing to be my romantic partner if who knew I was a faunas, if he knew what I had done in the White Fang. Under any other circumstances, I would rush in to let him know I really did have feelings for him, no matter where he came from But, my reflection shows in the mirror, my cat ears. And so, I turn away from the shop. " I'm sorry," I whisper before I start to walk away.
-Timeskip again, Blake's pov-
" I don't care if you're a faunas," he says, and I look up at (y/n) in surprise. He found me the night I had left Beacon, and the two of us had been spending all our time together ever since. My team had forgiven me, and he was the last person important to me I was worried about. " You're still Blake Belladonna. That's enough for me."
He leans over, and then places a kiss on my cheek. Ever since he found out my past, he had confessed his feelings to me, and right now my head was rested on his chest as we read from a book together. The dance was coming up, and he and I were spending a lot of time together, in preparation to go as a couple. I had already talked to the organizers of the dance about bringing someone not from the school, and he had been cleared to go. " Are you excited about the dance," I ask him, wondering his reaction and feelings about all of this.
" Yeah, I am to be sure. But....are you sure you want to go with me," he asks. " I'm just....I'm not going to be a huntsman or anything like that. Aren't there a lot of guys who want to go with you? Like Sun?" When he says this, I reach over and give his hand a gentle squeeze.
" I only want to go with you," I tell him. " I'm not looking for anything different than what I have with you. I don't want anyone other than you. This is exactly what I'm looking for in a relationship."
-Timeskip again Blake Pov-
The night of the dance, I spend some time with (y/n), and the two of us sway back and forth to a song, and he looks at me lovingly. Yang comes over, and whispers something in his ear. All I can make out are the words, " It's time," and then (y/n) nods, and then goes onto the stage with Yang.
Yang begins to make some announcements, saying that (y/n) will be singing a song. My eyes widen when she says, " He didn't know how to do this otherwise. He wrote this for his girlfriend, Blake and so I hope you all enjoy," and then hands the microphone to (y/n). He takes a deep breath, before beginning to sing.
I've been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
Achilles and his gold
Hercules and his gifts
Spiderman's control
And Batman with his fists
And clearly I don't see myself upon that list
But she said, "Where d'you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I'm not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts.
Some superhero,
Some fairytale bliss.
Just something I can turn to.
Somebody I can kiss.
I want something just like this."
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
I want something just like this
I've been reading books of old
The legends and the myths
The testaments they told
The moon and its eclipse
And Superman unrolls
A suit before he lifts
But I'm not the kind of person that it fits
She said, "Where d'you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I'm not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts.
Some superhero,
Some fairytale bliss.
Just something I can turn to.
Somebody I can miss.
I want something just like this.
I want something just like this."
Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Oh, I want something just like this
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo
"Where d'you wanna go?
How much you wanna risk?
I'm not looking for somebody
With some superhuman gifts.
Some superhero,
Some fairytale bliss.
Just something I can turn to.
Somebody I can kiss.
I want something just like this."
Oh, I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this
Oh, I want something just like this
He finishes the song, and then surveys the crowd looking for me, only to find me smiling up at him. I make my way up on the stage like him, and pull him in for a deep kiss. " I love you," he says when we pull away.
" I love you too," I tell him.
( let me know what you thought. now, every main girl has a songfic other than Yang. let me know some songs you would like to see with Yang)
