I woke up before anyone else.

I looked around and saw that no one was up, although it was already light outside.

I got out of my sleeping bag and slowly tip-toed my way around a few people to get dressed.

I wore a very dark gray shirt, light gray pants, a grayish-brown leather jacket with a gold chain around the collar, so that I could wear it around my neck, and a black fedora.

When I was finally ready, I walked back to my sleeping bag and noticed that a few others were now awake.

I was still drowsy, so while I was making my way back, I tripped over someone's stuff, which I was afraid, might wake them up.

They didn't though, so I kept on walking.

Once I got back, I tried to wake Gabe up, but he kept on sleeping, so I had to shake him awake.

"Dude, wake up!" I whisper-yelled.

"Huh?..." He yawned.

"What time is it?" He asked.

"I don't know, time for you to get up?"I said.

"Time for you to find a new joke" He said.

I shook my head.

"Seriously though, get up."

He got up and went to get dressed.

He was wearing a crimson-colored shirt, camo/cargo pants, steel-toed, cleated combat boots.

He also had Inconel Armor(I don't really know what 'Inconel' is.), which he wasn't wearing at the moment, and black glasses.

"You ready for the initiation?" He asked.

"Duh!" I said.

I noticed Blake, Yang and Ruby were all awake.

I gave them a quick nod.

"Aight, so we're supposed to go to the uhh...cliff that's over the Emerald Forest, right?" I asked Gabe.

"Yeah." He said.

"Right then, we should get there early, to see the other students." I suggested.

Gabe shrugged, "Alright."

We made our way over to the Emerald Forest, where we were supposed to meet for our initiation.

Several people were already there, who were watching the students currently on the launching platforms.

It would be a while before it was our turn, but we came early, so that was okay with us.

I wasn't exactly sure who I wanted to be teamed up with for the next four years of my life.

All I know is, I have to be on a team with Gabe, I do not want to lose contact with my best friend, and currently the only one who I truly trust.

For the next half-hour or so, we discussed our landing strategy, where we would go once we landed, maybe some kind of signal, that sorta stuff.

Before we realized it, it was our turn.

The people whom we made friends with yesterday were only arriving.

Barely in time for the initiation.

Once all the platforms had one person in each of them, Ozpin talked to us about having to retrieve relics, within the forest and bring them back to the cliff which looked over the Emerald Forest.

After he finished his instruction, the person farthest to the left was launched.

I brandished my weapon, The Destroyer, which was a single-edged 5 foot long, 10 inch wide, broad sword.

It had a green edge and a black spine which had 6 Omega-Drives in them which thrusts the sword forward.

Plus, it had a Blazar blade, powered by a black hole, which could cut through most materials and, if combined with the Omega-Drives, could shoot out a beam of super heated particles which cut through material and explode on impact.

It doesn't need a power source due to my semblance, which is being able to take any form of energy and transform it into any other kinds of energy or be transferred in to anything as energy.

But, I can also take the Life-Force of any living creature.

An ability that is useless in fighting Grimm.

I can power The Destroyer indefinitely, as long as there is a source of energy nearby, which is why Torchwick and the White Fang are need me so bad.

Gabe was launched in to the air.

He used the recoil from his dual short swords, Gamma, which were now dual pistols, to launch himself further.

I was launched in to the air.

I used the Omega-Drives on the Destroyer to propel myself higher and faster.

Even though I was a good thousand or so, feet in the air, I still could not see the entirety of the Forest.

As I sailed over the sea of green below me, I heard Ruby's voice behind me.

"Birdy, noooooo..."

I assumed she had hit a bird or something.

I heard gunshots not too far behind me.

I glanced back and saw that Yang was using the recoil from her gauntlets in a similar way in which Gabe uses his.

Then, I realized I should be looking for Gabe.

Who had now landed, who knows where.

I decided to end my flight, or fall, using The Destroyer to thrust me downward and in to the Emerald Forest.

I landed with enough force to crack the ground several feet around me.

I paused for a moment to pull myself together, sheath The Destroyer and run to where I thought the relics were.

That's where Gabe would be heading I thought to myself.

So, I ran in the direction of some tall pillars and crossed my fingers that someone I knew would be there.

Gabe's POV

Once I was launched into the air, I used my dual-pistols, Gamma, to propel myself forward a great distance away from the cliff.

I looked back to see Omega at a height no one else could have reached.

Once he started to descend, I made my way down as well, careful not to hit anything thing as I fell.

I did a back-flip and landed on the ground with a loud thud as my boots hit the ground.

I took a second to sit and take in my surroundings.

I then got up and inhaled deeply, as soon as I let it out, I turned around and ran towards where most other people, including Omega, were probably making their way to.

As I was running, I spotted a structure which looked to be crumbling down and covered in moss and vines.

When I got a closer look, I noticed some chess pieces on some tiny pillars.

"What the heck? Are these supposed to be the relics we were supposed to retrieve?" I asked myself.

Just then, I heard some rustling behind me.

I tightened my gripped on Gamma and held them in front of my face.

As I prepared to jump forward to attack whatever it was, I got surprised when Yang and Blake came through.

"Oh hey!" I said as I lowered my weapons.

"Hey uhh...Gabe?" Yang asked.

"Yeah...hey, you wouldn't have happened to have seen Omega have you?" I asked them.

"No, we haven't." Blake answered.

I was slightly worried, the Emerald Forest was a very dangerous place.

A couple of seconds later, we heard a scream from behind.

"What was that?" I asked.

Then Blake pointed upwards.

Ruby was falling from the sky for some reason, and just as I thought she was gonna hit the ground, someone else, came from somewhere else, totally out of nowhere and crashed into Ruby sending them flying into the trees.

"What..." I was trying to process what had just happened.

"Did your sister just fall from the sky?" Blake asked.

"I-" Yang started but was cut off by a roar.

Then, things got weirder.

Two other people came in on an ursa.

"Did that girl just ride in on an Ursa?" Yang asked.

"I-" Blake started but was cut off by a disturbance in the trees.

Then, a girl with red hair with a Death Stalker behind her, was running towards us.

"Jaune!" She yelled.

"Phyrra!" The guy who hit Ruby earlier said.

Ruby then got up and hopped off the tree towards yang and said,"Yang!"

Then Yang Said,"Ruby!"

Then, one of the two who came on an Ursa popped up in between them and exclaimed,"Nora!"

Things were getting weirder by the second.

"Did she just run all the way here with a Death Stalker on her tail?" Blake asked.

Then, Yang, quite literally, exploded and said,"Ahhh, I can't take it anymore! Can everyone just chill out before something crazy happens again?!"

Two seconds passed.

"Um...Yang..." Ruby said, then pointed towards the sky.

We all looked up to see ANOTHER person who was hanging on to the talons of a Nevermore who then said,"How could you leave me?"

"I said jump..." Ruby said.

"She's going to fall..." Blake said.

"She'll be fine." Ruby said.

"She's falling." The one known to us as, Ren, said.

As she was falling, Jaune caught her in midair and said something to her which I couldn't hear.

I'm guessing they both realized at the same time that they were in MIDAIR and had nowhere to go but down.

Jaune hit the ground first and the person who fell from the sky landed on his back.

Then, the one known as Pyrrha landed in front of our group, after which Yang sarcastically said,"Great! The gang's all here! Now we can die together!"

I intervened saying,"Wait! Where's Omega?" I asked everyone in general.

None of them knew.

I kind of just sat there with a worried face, looking like a Derp.

"Uhh...Guys..." Jaune stammered.

"That thing's circling back around." He said pointing at the Nevermore, which by now had turned around and was heading our way.

I also pointed out the Gigantic Death Stalker that was also coming towards our group.

"Guys...What should we do?" I asked.

When no one answered, I turned around and saw that everyone was running towards the cliff.

"Hey!!! Don't leave me!!!" I yelled.

A shadow loomed over me as I turned around to see the Death Stalker, which was now behind me, swing one of its massive pincers at me.

I jumped in between them and rolled on the ground.

I immediately got up and ran towards everybody else, who were now way ahead.

I pulled out Gamma, jumped up and shot downwards, using the recoil to launch me upwards.

I ended up with the rest of the group in an ancient temple structure of some sort.

We were really close to the cliff over the Emerald Forest.

The Nevermore-- Wait!

There's two of them?!

"Oh geez..."I said, as I turned around and saw them behind us.

One of them flew over and landed in front of us, while the Death Stalker was climbing up the bridge behind us.

"Oh God..." Jaune said.

"Nora, distract it!" Ren instructed Nora.

They both ran from behind cover, out into the open whilst dodging the Nevermore's deadly feathers.

Then, Nora started shooting the Nevermore with her grenade launcher, which made it fly away.

Then, the Death Stalker came behind Nora, but Ren and Blake attacked it and Weiss, the one who fell from the Nevermore, came and carried Nora to safety.

The rest of the group ran towards the tower structure in the center of the Temple.

I noticed that the Nevermore was coming towards us."Guys, watch out!" I yelled.

The Nevermore smashed into the bridge leaving Ren, Pyrrha and Blake behind to the Death Stalker.

"Oh man, we gotta get over there." Said Jaune.

"Let's do it!" Nora said.

"Uhh...I can't make that jump." Jaune said.

Nora then knocked him backwards and converted her grenade launcher into a hammer.

She jumped up and hit the ground, using it to catapult Jaune to the other side.

She then stood on the hammer and used the force of the explosion to launch her forward to the other side where she hit the Death stalker in the head.

She pulled the trigger just before it could use its stinger which launched her backwards, accidental knocking Blake back and off the bridge.

"Whoa..." I said to myself as I looked over the edge to see where Blake was.

She used her weapon like a grappling hook to stop her fall.

I might've been imagining it, but I saw something fly by her really fast.

"What the heck?" I said.

I watched it for a few seconds before realizing what it was.

When I did, I started smiling.

Omega's POV

*A little earlier*

As I was running, I heard some screeching to my left."What was that?" I said to myself. I decided it would be best to go towards it since it was in the direction of the cliff. I pulled out The Destroyer and jumped up. I pulled the trigger to activate the omega-drives on The Destroyer at the height of my jump, which sent me flying. When I got higher, I got a view of what was making the screeching, two Nevermores, although one was further away than the other. There was no doubting that most everyone was there. I mean, what else could possibly attract the attention of two Nevermores? I got excited, and when I got really high, I pulled and held on the trigger to speed up my progress towards the commotion.

*Several seconds later*

I got a closer look at what was happening; There were 9 people on an ancient-looking structure, two Nevermores, they were now both here, and a Death Stalker. I decided to attack the Nevermores first since that's what was causing the most trouble. I was now close enough to see who they were, I saw Gabe, Ruby, Blake and Yang, plus some others who I hadn't met before. As I got even closer, I yelled out,"Gaaaabe!" I don't think he heard me though, but right about then, saw Blake get knocked off the edge so I went downwards. I saw her use her weapon to swing back up and realized she didn't need help. So I turned upwards with all my speed towards the closest Nevermore was. As I was approaching, I held The Destroyer out to the side and pressed a button which activated the Quasar Blade(which is a real thing(the quasar, not the blade)). The Nevermore opened its mouth and I pulled the trigger again as The Destroyer went between its massive beaks, cutting through its head, wings, talons and tail. I used the The Destroyer to turn around, I held The Destroyer above my head and pulled the trigger which caused it to slice downwards at an extremely fast speed, this allows the quasar to release particles which can be set to cut through most materials and dissolve some time later or explode on impact. It was set on explode on impact and it sent the particle projectile (called a Blazar) to shoot out towards the mortally wounded Nevermore. It explode and was blown apart into several pieces, which fell down into the deep chasm under the structure on which everyone was on.

I let myself fall for a moment before using The Destroyer to launch myself towards the bridge. I landed with enough force to crack the stone under me, which wobbled and fell, but not before I jumped to safety. By now, you should know that Omega-Drives are very powerful.

I heard Gabe say,"Omega!" Sounding very relieved. I didn't say anything, I just smiled. I was exhausted after running and pulling that off, and was panting heavily as I slowly walked towards him. We high-fived, after which he asked me,"Dude, where have you been this whole time?" I didn't answer for a few seconds but then I said,"I(pant)I got(pant) lost." He rolled his eyes and said,"Anyway, as you can see, we have a...problem. There's a Nevermore and a Death Stalker over there where Ren, Nora, Jaune and Pyrrha are." He pointed at the other side of the bridge which had been broken up."Okay--" I was cut off by Ruby,"Where have you been this whole time?" She asked. I looked over at Gabe,"He got 'lost'" he said, making air quotes."Shut up" I said, in a friendly way,"I actually WAS lost. I landed farther than anyone else did." I said. I was cut off by the other Nevermore's screech."Talk later, for now, we have to take that thing out and get to the cliff." I said.

We joined up with the others who were lined up over the edge. When we got there, Blake said,"It's tougher than it looks."."Then let's hit it with everything we've got!" Yang said.

Ruby then unfolded her scythe entirely, Blake converted her weapon into a pistol, Yang started shooting at the Nevermore, which was now headed towards us, the other person who was there, known to us as, Weiss, started launching projectiles at the Nevermore. Gabe and I looked at each other, and we both nodded. We jumped off the edge at the same time, he used Gamma's recoil to propel himself up and over the Nevermore, and i used The Destroyer to launch myself directly at it.

Just as we got closer, it screeched at a higher pitch than normal, which hurt all of my ears, as well as Gabe's.(As you read from the Author's note, He's also a Faunus: a Wolf-Draco Faunus. I imagine it to be a, well, Wolf dragon type hybreed or something, but yeah.). We both started to fall. When my ears stopped ringing, I saw that Gabe had already recovered and was making his way towards me."I'm fine, just get back and help the others. Very faintly, I

heard him yell,"Ok!". I then pulled the trigger to launch myself back towards everyone else near the cliff. Fortunately, I hadn't dropped The Destroyer. That would've been the worst thing that could've happened!

Anyway, I looked down, I was falling real fast, I looked ahead saw the Nevermore still headed towards the group. I felt the adrenaline flowing through my veins. I held The Destroyer to the side and pulled the trigger. I went from falling to flying in a split second. I kept holding the trigger until I was almost there.

The Nevermore's tail was frozen to the ground and it looked like they were planning something. Blake was up on a pillar when she threw her weapon, which had a long piece of fabric on it, across to Yang, who was also on a pillar.'Well, this is interesting.' I thought to myself.

I decided to watch them from above, not wanting to interfere.

It looked like they were using Blake's weapon as a slingshot. Weiss was on the end of it holding Ruby in place with her ability, which is being able to make glyphs.

As Weiss released her glyphs' hold on Ruby, Ruby shot backwards using the recoil of her rifle, and along with the makeshift slingshot, to launch her towards the Nevermore.

She caught the Nevermore by the neck with her scythe and started shooting down and running up the cliff on Weiss' glyphs, using them as platforms to prevent her from falling.

Once she got near the top, she used her momentum and a final shot of her rifle to behead the Nevermore and get on top of the cliff.

I landed next to Gabe, Blake and Yang."Well...that was a thing." Yang said. "Well, that's one 'thing' to call it" I joked. Pun intended. We all sort of laughed a little at my joke, which wasn't that good.

"I think we should head back now." I suggested. And with that, me, Gabe, Blake, Yang, Nora, Ren, Jaune and Pyrrha all headed up the cliff and back to beacon to find out what teams we were going to be.
