The hype is real!!!

None of us could wait for the tournaments to begin.

The first battle starts at 12:30 p.m. So as to give everyone a chance to eat.

There are thirty two teams

We arrived at the colosseum at 11:00 a.m. and sat with the teams from Beacon.

The other students sat on opposite sides of the colosseum.

Those from Haven sat across from us. While Atlas and Shade students sat opposite of each other.

To our left was team RWBY and to our right, team CFVY.

                            -(12:20 p.m.)-

Prof. Port's voice came onto the speakers,"Ladies and gentlemen! It's time to choose our first combatants!"

All of us were waiting in anticipation, while the crowd of many thousands of people in the colosseum, and many more in their homes, cheered.

The dial in the large screens began to spin, choosing in random, the first match up.

It was between our very own team RWBY! And team ABRN from Shade.

"Ayyyy!!! It's you guys!" I said.

"Good luck!" The teams and fans of Beacon academy cheered.

Team RWBY left to prepare. The crowd was extremely loud and was actually starting to bother me.

I pulled out the tangled mess of wires from my pocket and listened to music as my solution. However, I could very faintly hear the noises in the background.

The teams stepped onto the arena, lining up in  the center.

Dr. Oobleck announced,"Ready!...Begin!"

The fighting between the two teams began, with RWBY making the first move.

The match was neck-and-neck for the most part.

Team RWBY was on the offensive almost all the time, but team ABRN was just as capable.

In the end, teamwork paved the way to victory as team RWBY knocked out team ABRN in one amazing, and slightly complicated, team attack.

The colosseum shook from the cheering of the crowd. I could hear the loud and clear, even with the volume on max.

"Yeeeeaaaaahhhh!!!! That's what's up!!!" I shouted.

"Go!!! RWBY!!!" Nora shouted.

The students from Beacon were probably cheering louder than everyone else, or maybe it was because I was towards the front of the group, in the direction everyone was shouting in.

"The first win goes to Beacon!" Gabe said.

Even Fia, who had joined us only days before, seemed pretty excited about our victory.

There was a five minute intermission. To allow the team to get back to their seats.

Team RWBY was met with the same cheering from the participants from Beacon.

"Good job guys!" I said to them as they sat down.

"Thanks!" Ruby said.

As soon as Amity Colosseum became quiet, the next match up was chosen.

The dial stopped on our faces with the our respective letters.

"Team Omniscient, from Beacon!" Prof. Port announced.

"Head-ass!!!" I yelled in excitement.

"And...Team Light(LGHT) from Mistral."

Wow! Of the thirty-two teams, minus those who just finished a round, we were the second match up of the Vytal Festival! That's a pretty big deal!

"Alright! Let's go!" I said to my teammates.

"Wait." Gabe said.

"What is it?" Cyan asked.

"The White Fang are no doubt spectating the tournaments." Gabe stated.

"Yeah?"

"They will instantly recognize you and me!" Gabe said to me.

"Then, what do we do?" Fia asked.

I was thinking that maybe Fia and Cyan shouldn't be in this conversation, but they're part of our team, our family, they deserve to know.

"Don't worry about it! I know this was coming, but...they won't be a problem if we show them how powerful we are." I said to them.

"That doesn't mean that they don't have a way to stop us." Gabe argued.

"It's worth a shot. If we win this, they'll see that were more powerful than they think we are. Besides, we're not in this alone." I said, motioning to the other teams.

Gabe sighed,"Remember, if anyone gets hurt, we are responsible."

"No, I will be. It's only me they're after."

"Will both teams, please make their way down to the arena." Dr. Oobleck announced.

"Good luck guys!" Jaune yelled.

"Thanks!" I replied.

We quickly made our way through to the entrance to the arena.

There were guards who opened the sliding door for us leading into the battleground.

Team LGHT confronted us at the center.

"May the best team win!" The leader of the team said.

I nodded.

The biomes were being chosen.

They were; Grassland and Ruins.

"Three..." Prof. Oobleck began to countdown.

"Hehe, this'll be a fun place to destroy!" I said.

"Two..."

"Everyone remember the strats?" Gabe asked them.

"One..."

"Yeah!" Cyan and Fia replied.

"Begin!"

With a quick movement, I drew the Destroyer and launched a projectile at our opponents, giving us time to distance ourselves.

"Remember! Two against one! Partner up and focus on one person!" I instructed.

When the smoke cleared from the initial attack, team LGHT were long gone.

"Alright! Let's sweep this place!" I said to Cyan.

She nodded and followed me to the center.

The plan was to put out as many attacks as possible, with the goal of flushing out the enemy.

Gabe and Fia took their positions. Gabe was to standby and Fia is going to cover the arena with dust, causing explosions as we sweeper the arena with particles and shockwaves.

"Ready! Go!" I yelled.

The Destroyer rotated and fired off a stream of high-speed particles.

Cyan's Electro-light was going ham with the shock waves.

Team LGHT was hiding somewhere, and we will find them.

As my particles and Cyan's shockwaves were converging, a purple beam shot towards me and Cyan.

Using the broad side of the Destroyer's blade as a shield, the beam hit and was instantaneously replaced by the leader of LGHT.

Cyan strafed from behind and landed a hit, knocking him back.

Three beams, red, blue and green, converged on Fia.

Fia was not going to dodge. She was to allow them to hit.

As soon as the beams hit, Fia shouted,"Combustion She'll!"

An sphere with a thirty-foot radius around her lit up and exploded, causing the surrounding grass to catch on fire and dealing major damage to the three members who attempted to attack her.

While they were dazed from the explosion, Gabe stepped in and basically rekt the one with the green beam.

Me and Cyan joined the fray.

We managed to knock out two of the team, but the third was saved by the leader.

Apparently, their semblances are being able to turn into a beam and travel wherever that beam hits.

"Well, you managed to take out half our team..." The leader said.

"...But, our comeback begins...now!"

They turned into their beams and went straight for us.

We blocked, but as soon as we did, they would turn back into beams and attack somewhere else.

There was no way to avoid their attacks.

Only Gabe was fast enough to avoid several of the attacks.

I couldn't concentrate enough to activate the ODs, so I decided, rather, to spend the energy on keeping our team alive.

"Split!" I instructed.

Our team separated, but they just kept bouncing back and forth between us.

"Fia!" I shouted.

Fia, once again, combusted, at the right moment, when both attackers were aiming to hit her.

Both of them were blown away by the force.

"Now!"

We unleashed a barrage of attacks towards our opponents and before they hit the ground, their aura levels were below 15%.

"Yeah!" Gabe exclaimed.

I gave a sigh of relief,"That was good! That was good!"

"It looks like the winner of the match is...team Omniscient, from Beacon!" Prof. Port announced.

The crowd cheered for us like they did for team RWBY.

We won our first match!

Walking over to the leader of team LGHT, helping him up and restoring some of his teams aura.

"Good match!" He said.

"Good match!" I replied, shaking his hand.

"Alright! Now it's on to the doubles round for us!" Fia said.

"Yeah, the competition's gonna get tougher." Gabe said.

"Then we'll get tougher!"
