Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. The sound of the clock filled the silent waiting room in the hospital.

Everyone else except our team went back to Beacon. It was three hours into David's surgery. We're still waiting for the doctor. He came out to give us the verdict.

"Hello, I'm doctor Lee. So would you like to hear the good or the bad news first?"

"Good, please for the love of God."

"Good news is that he'll live. We stopped the internal bleeding permently. If I recall the report that escape pod pilot gave me was that he was stabbed by an energy sword, am I correct?"

"Yeah... I know because I was there."

"He's lucky that sword missed his spine by 2 inches. How do I put this, when a burn cools it forms a sort of crust."

"Therfore halting the bleeding until he got help. And on top of that he was thrown off a cliff when the Covenant was done with him. The miracles of spartan armor."

"The bad news is that he's in a coma and we have no idea when he'll wake. Could be days, weeks, maybe months."

I sighed in relief and buried my face in my hands. I looked up and bulked up the courage to ask about his armor.

"And his armor?"

"We shipped it to Atlas. They're the world leader when it comes to technology. I'm confident they can repair it in no time."

"Thats a relief. I... don't think I'm emotionally prepared to see him right now. Besides, we have to get back to Beacon. I will come by and visit when I have the time."

"Here's my contact information." He hands me his business card. "I'll call if there's any change in his condition."

"Thank you doctor. We should get going."

-=Luna's P.O.V=-

I honestly don't know how to feel about this whole situation. I've never seen him like this in my life. This war has only put him through hell and seems like his past is come back to haunt him.

As soon as we landed we were greeted by RWBY. Nightmare just kept on walking. Shutting out everyone around him. Ruby seemed worried more than everyone else.

"Is he doing okay?"

I sighed. "I don't know Ruby. He hasn't said a word since we left the hospital. I think he just need some time to himself."

By the time I said that, he was already gone. Probably went back to our dorm.

-=Nightmare's P.O.V=-

Beautiful night I guess. I'm on the roof where Jaune and Pyhrra usually spar. I'm sitting on the edge, and I couldn't stop the noises in my mind. It's like it's making me re-live their deaths. I couldn't stand it. I put on my music and the first song that comes up is Hide by Red. {Go to the link above to listen. If you like Red, well at least I won't be the only one XD}

Which was fine. I really felt like running. It's just too much to take in.

While I was listening, I was saw Ruby sit next to me. She tapped me on the shoulder and motioned for me to take my headphones off, and I did.

"Whatcha listening to?" I give her the headphones to listen. After a few seconds she asked me something.

"You really want to-"

"Run and hide? Yeah. This is.... I don't know what to do. It's just too much."

"Well... best advice I can give is just focus on one thing at a time. This shouldn't stop you from being who you want to become. Something my Uncle Qrow said to me when I was at Signal was 'Ruby, you and Yang are gonna go far, but only if you never stop moving forward.' (RIP Monty. We love you. Thank you for giving me an inspiration to write this at all 😃) I'll give you some time alone."

She started walking away before I stopped her.

"Ruby..."

"Yeah?"

"Thank you... for giving me something else to think about. It means a lot. And can you knock on our dorm and tell them I'll be down in like, ten minutes?"

"I'll do that. See you tomorrow."
