Field trips. Feels just like when I was in Kindergarten. Except this time I don't have to worry about permission slips.

The forest of forever fall is quite a sight to see. The red leaves constantly falling are just breathtaking. Things like this are what made me want to go on scouting missions during the war. Too bad Reach is a burned wasteland now.

I didn't even hear half of what Mrs. Goodwitch said.

"Prof. Peach has asked each of you to collect samples from the trees, and I will make sure none of you die while doing so. We will rendezvous back here at four o clock. Have fun!"

I found a tree and started to take sap samples out of it. I started filling the 2nd jar when I noticed the first one was empty. I look over and Nora's face is covered in tree sap.

"Nora. Really?"

Ren goes to say something. Probably about her strange habits.

"She loves syrup. You're gonna have to deal with it."

"I'm gonna find a different tree. Good lord...."

-=Regret's P.O.V.=-

I don't know why but this shit is clogging up my nose. I must be allergic to this.

As I was filling up a jar, I noticed there was I piece of metal sticking out of the ground. It was refined too. It wasn't ore. Sharp too.

I heard Snow call out to Nightmare and myself.

"Hey you guys, come over here."

"What is it, Snow?" Said Nightmare.

"Look."

"The hell?"

There were scorch marks across the ground and along a few of the tree's barks. And the ground is tore up. Maybe there was a meteor. But the metal I found doesn't make sense.

"Maybe a meteor struck." Said Nightmare.

"No. Look at this." I go to show him the metal.

"Yep. Definitely not a meteor. Something else crashed here. Luna, go get Prof. Goodwitch, you two come with me."

We went to the edge of the hill and saw something in the distance. Looked like a pod of some sort. But looked familiar.

"Nightmare, what is that thing?"

"It's a UNSC escape pod! Come on, we need to search for survivors!"

We slid down the hill. Me and him stood by the door ready to pry it open. Snow stood in front of the door with her katanas drawn, ready to attack if something else besides humans came out of that thing.

"1... 2... 3!" We opened the door and we saw a weird tube in the middle, and dead marines around the sides.

"They must've died on impact. I'll check the flight log."

When he did that he explained what happened here.

"Upon entering the atmosphere, the pods air brakes failed and came right off. And went into a highly dangerous speed causing the impact to kill everyone abord."

We heard something from the cockpit.

"Not everyone." It was the pilot. He sounded like he was in pain too.

Nightmare went to pull out that thing that was in the middle.

"What is it?"

"Cryo tube. Someone's frozen in there. We'll figure that out after we get this pilot out."

I went in there and I didn't what I saw. His bones were sticking out of his legs. He couldn't move.

Luna came back with Mrs. Goodwitch.

"Professor, can you lift this guy out of here while I find something to lay him on?"

"Wait what?"

"She has telekinesis as her powers."

"Whoa whoa whoa!" He started floating outward.

I found a pad to lay him on. I laid it out and Prof. Goodwitch laid him down.

"What happened?"

"We were on our way to gamma station orbiting Arcadia. Our ship was attacked by one of Jul mdama's CCS crusiers. These pods had light speed capabilities so we punched in coordinates to the nearest star system."

"Did they track your pod?"

"No. We destroyed their sensor array. No way they could've tracked us."

"Good. Last thing we need is the Covenant on Remnant."

"Last thing?"

"Yeah. If you read about this place, you would know about the creatures of Grimm. One more question. Who's in the cryo tube?"

"Some spartan we picked up on Reach when the Covenant pretty much abandoned the planet. That gave us a window to move in. He's badly injured."

I was nervous to see who it was. And when I wiped the fog off, I couldn't believe what I saw. I had a panic attack, backed away and fell to my knees.

"Nightmare! Brother, please, talk to me!" Said Snow who was kind of freaking out.

"J-jus..... just give me a second...."

I calmed my breathing and slowly walked backed torwards the tube.

"David.... he's still alive!"

"Wait, your old sqaudmate?"

"Yeah.... professor we have to get him to a hospital now!"

I heard Ruby from her scroll.

"Mrs. Goodwitch, we're at the ship, where are you?"

"Miss Rose, tell the pilot to look for an escape pod north of our orginal landing spot."

We saw the ship approach and lowered to land. Mrs. Goodwitch lifted the tube and the injured pilot on the ship and made for the Vale Memorial Hospital.
