A/N: Welcome back to my story. Sorry for the long wait. In this chapter Xaito must find the artifact of the forest and return it. we will also see a new character for a later chapter so be on the look out for it.

With out further ado let us begin.

The day and come and soon after we were lead outside onto a cliff. A large forest was ahead of us and some launch pads were on the ground. 

"We want you all to venture to the center of this forest where you will find a small sanctuary-like area. Retrieve a artifact and return with it. There is only a limited amount. So those with an artifact will be allowed into Beacon. This forest is filled with Grims so be on high alert. You will team up with anyone you lay first sight on. Please stay safe." With my weapon in hand, I ready myself to be launched. It still sounded crazy to me that they would launch their students into some dangerous forest but, who am I to judge their picking-system. I had split my shield in half to avoid any air resistance. One by one, the students were launched. Ruby, Yang, Pyrrah, Juane and so on. I was up next. I prepared myself and got launched into the air. The view above gave me an idea of how big the forest was. For miles on end, all I could see was green tree tops. I was beginning to fall so I attached my shield together and rode it like a surfboard. Using the air resistance I drifted down to the forest floor with ease. I land on the ground and return the shield to my back.

*Grrr-Snarl!*.

"You must the Shadow creatures Beacon were talking about". The creature was black, a white skull covers it head -covered with red patterns, claws were overgrown and bone white. "Interesting." The creature snarls and jolts at me. I dodge the attack and ready my shield. The creature turns around and faces me. It's eyes looked soulless and filled with a lust to kill. It charges. Ready to ram me. I block with my shield and plant my feet into the ground as I push against the Shadow's strength. "A strong one, now are we?" I tease. It jumps back and tries to scratch me. I split the shield in half and use one arm to block it. I slam the shield half into it's skull and hear a crack. The creature howls before falling down. I had struck it unconscious. "I am not one to kill without reason. Maybe one day I'll be friends with your type." I walk off wandering aimlessly through the forest. I did encounter a few more Shadows but, struck them unconscious when I got the chance. Soon enough I ended up at a cliff high above the forest. I was able to see a shrine in the disrance. "So I'm supposed to get a partner by now. No one's in sight though" I sigh.

"Kyaah!"

"That doesn't sound good." I leap down into the forest and spot a Faunus girl facing a Grimm. She had long bunny-like ear and a blue light sword in hand. It seemed to be of no help in the fight though. The Grimm tried to scratch her. I drop in blocking it with my shield. "Run, I'll handle it from here"

"No, I want to help. This was my fight from the beginning. I have to finish it"

"Very well. I will make an opening and you strike when you have a clear shot." I push the Grimm back and slowly circle around it. It's focus was on me giving the girl the time she needed to strike. She leaps into the air and sky dives into the Grimm's back. She strikes it's back and plunges her sword deeper into until she stabs the heart. The Grimm screeches in pain until it collapses in defeat.

"Amazing that was so awesome" I tell the faunus girl.

"Thank you, it's in my genes. I'm a rabbit faunus so I'm able to jump high and move around quickly"

"The name's Xaito. With an X" I say holdig my hand out.

"Velvet" she replies shaking my hand. My semblance duplicates and stores her DNA. "Since our eyes met we're partners right?"

" I believe so. I saw a small altar-like shrine in the distance. Shall we head there first?"

"Yeah, maybe the artifacts are there." We headed to the shrine and soon met up with Blake and Yang.

"Xaito! Hey there!"

"Hello Yang. Good to see you made it as well"

"Heeeeaaadssss uuuuuuup!!!!" We look to the sky see a falling Ruby. At the same moment a side flying Juane hits Ruby into the nearby tree...don't' ask.

"Did your sister just fall from the sky?" Blake asks Yang.

"I..." Yang was interrupted by a roaring. A bear-like Grimm collapses as a girl rolls off it's back. 

"Aw it's broken" she says tapping it with her foot.

"Nora please. Don't ever do that again" a boy says to her. He looks up and sees that Nora was missing again.

"Did that girl ride in on a Ursa?" I ask.

"Well..." Velvet begins. More screeches from the distance as a Death stalker crashes through chasing Pyrrah.

"Grr..I can't take it anymore! could everyone chill out for two seconds before something crazy happens again?!?" Yang explodes with a fiery aura around her.

"One....two" i count aloud.

"Um Yang?" Ruby says looking to the sky. Weiss was on a bird-like Grimm and was soon falling. Juane jumps out and ....let's just say he broke her fall. Pyrrah gets hit by the Death-stalker and gets launched to us.

"Great, the gang's all here. Now we can die together" Yang says sarcastically.

"Not if i can help it." Ruby charges the Death-Stalker and tries to draw it's attention. The bird Grimm shoots feathers at Ruby and catches her cape. The Death-Stalker nears her and tries to strike with it's stinger.

"Ruby!" Yang and I yell out. Weiss charges forward and stops the stinger with ice.

"Velvet, I'll go pick out the artifact. Be ready to move, I believe we are going to a tactical retreat"

"Okay." I head to the shrine and notice a strange energy. I punch the ground below me.

"Ha, thought so." I found a secret room. A gold,black and white pawn piece was there. I grab it and head out in time for the suspected tactical retreat. "Velvet, I never got to ask. Where is your weapon?"

"Oh that is something i like to call a Light Copy. I take a picture of a weapon I've seen in battle. The sword i had was a weapon I saw someone using"

"Now that is really cool." Velvet blushes lightly, we continue running until we stop at the large ruins of castle built into the cliff side. the Grimms were still chasing us.

"Velvet, do you think you can handle my shield? We are going to need more defense"

"Yes I can do that." She pulls out a camera from her pack and snaps a picture of my shield. A blue light shines before she was holding a light-copy of Aegis. We turn to each team and ready for the fight ahead.

A/N: I'm sorry but, i'll be skipping the fight scene. Xaito and Velvet are more of the shields and mainly help in blocking attacks. Plus i suck at writing long fighting scenes. It won't happen in the future though.

Slamming her scythe down, Ruby beheads the bird. It's body falls down the abyss below.

"Nice one!" I yell out to them. The other group manages to defeat the Death stalker as well using it's own stinger against it. With the creatures defeated we walked back to Beacon with the artifacts in hand.
