2 - His first fight
Ruby, known for her empathy and concern for others, looked visibly shaken by the revelation. "That's... That's so much suffering," she murmured, her voice tinged with sadness.
Weiss, normally composed, had a furrowed brow, contemplating the implications of such a catastrophic conflict. "It's hard to imagine the devastation caused by a war lasting a decade," she remarked with a hint of disbelief.
Yang's expression hardened as she clenched her fists, feeling a surge of determination. "But they overcame it, right? They won," she said, trying to find a glimmer of hope amidst the grim narrative.
Meanwhile, members of Baker 2-5 and Baker 2-4 nodded in silent acknowledgment, their experiences in their own war-torn world fostering a deeper understanding of the toll such conflicts take on individuals and societies.
Cinder, usually detached and composed, listened intently, her expression betraying a hint of curiosity mixed with a touch of apprehension. The concept of a war spanning a decade intrigued her, the potential for power shifts and strategic maneuvers not lost on her.
Host, floating on the stage, observed the reactions of the characters, noting the mix of emotions – from shock and disbelief to empathy and determination. The experiment had succeeded in exposing the characters to the harsh realities of a world plagued by prolonged conflict.
Dustin, acknowledging the weight of his narrative, paused for a moment before continuing. "The aftermath of World War III reshaped the global geopolitical landscape. Nations rebuilt, alliances were forged, and a fragile peace settled over the world."
His words provided a glimmer of hope amidst the grim recounting of the war. The characters, though still processing the enormity of the events, found solace in the notion of a world slowly recovering from the ravages of conflict.
As the theater grew quieter, the characters contemplated the narrative they had just heard. They were now better equipped to understand the complexities of the 'fight for NATO' series and the challenges faced by the characters from that world.
Host, aware of the impact of the revelations, addressed the assembled characters once more. "The reactions and emotions elicited by these events are an integral part of this experiment," it said, its voice resonating through the theater. "Your observations and responses will contribute to the understanding of the multiverse and the connections between your worlds."
The characters nodded in acknowledgment, recognizing the significance of their reactions in shaping the experiment. The opportunity to witness events from a different universe had broadened their perspectives, fostering a deeper sense of empathy and understanding.
With the weight of the past events lingering in the air, the characters prepared themselves for the next phase of the experiment, ready to delve deeper into the narratives of their respective universes and explore the intricacies of the multiverse.
As they settled into their seats, the anticipation for what lay ahead mingled with the gravity of the knowledge they had gained. The journey through this mysterious experiment had only just begun, promising more revelations, challenges, and discoveries in the enigmatic multiverse.
Host was about to play one the characters first battle during the war.
"Stop for a second." Host immediately recognized this voice. It was Salem, "Before we begin, there is something I need like to ask you."
Host looked on at the tall pale woman, "What may it be?"
"What exactly are you?" Salem asked, "We've been here for short time now and we don't know anything about you."
Mihaly placed his hand on his chin, nodding in agreement, "This question was actually on my mind as well."
"Mine too." Ironwood nodded as well, having hard time believing that he agreed with Salem on something, as the rest of the audience turned to look at Host. It could easily say that this question was on everyone's mind for a while now.
The floating orb stared at Salem for a second, before answering, "I'm honestly surprised that none of you asked this question earlier."
Host paused for a moment, acknowledging the curiosity that had lingered among the characters regarding its nature.
"I am what you might call an observer," Host began, addressing the inquisitive assembly. "My role is to oversee and facilitate this multiverse experiment, ensuring that it progresses according to its intended design."
Salem's piercing gaze remained fixed on Host, her skepticism evident. "And who granted you this authority?"
Host floated slightly higher as if to emphasize its presence. "I exist beyond the confines of your worlds, beyond time and space. My purpose is to observe, guide, and facilitate interactions among individuals from different universes, allowing for unique experiences and understanding."
Ironwood, still skeptical, raised an eyebrow. "Are you affiliated with any particular faction or entity?"
Host remained neutral in its response. "I am impartial, not aligned with any single faction or entity. My purpose is to oversee and ensure the safety and progression of this experiment, ensuring that all participants are granted the opportunity for exploration and interaction."
The characters exchanged glances, some still cautious, while others appeared slightly more reassured by Host's explanation. Salem, however, seemed unconvinced, her aura of skepticism unshaken.
As the theater held a momentary pause, it was clear that while some questions had been answered, others lingered, adding an additional layer of mystery to the enigmatic entity known as Host.
"Wait! Are you trying to say that all kinds of people can become observer?" Ruby cut it off, looking a bit horrified by this scenario, "Even the worst kind?"
"That's exactly what I said." Host nodded in confirmation, "But not to worry, Ms. Rose. The other observers are all decent individuals, and there's nothing to worry about."
Ruby let out a relieved sigh and so did a few other people in the audience as her sister stated, "This must be an awesome and exciting job."
"And responsible one." Frank added to which Winter, Clover, Bob, and Glynda nodded in agreement.
Host acknowledged Ruby's concern with a nod, understanding the weight of the implications. "Indeed, the role of an observer is both fascinating and laden with responsibility. It requires a commitment to neutrality, fairness, and the facilitation of experiences that foster understanding."
Winter Schnee, typically composed, added her thoughts. "To observe and guide interactions across multiverses is a significant undertaking. It requires a high degree of integrity and impartiality."
Clover Ebi, the ever-optimistic member of the Ace-Ops, chimed in with a nod. "Maintaining balance and ensuring fairness is crucial in a role like that."
The characters from both universes seemed to grasp the magnitude of the responsibility that came with being an observer. Some nodded in agreement, while others contemplated the depth of such a role. The consensus among them was clear: the job of an observer carried weighty responsibilities and required a steadfast commitment to fairness and integrity.
Host turned away from the audience, and turned on the screen, "Now that, all of you received the answer to this. We'll start with one the characters first ever battle in the war, shall we?"
"Which character?" Anthony said as he drank his coffee.
"You'll see." Host said to the Marine.
[We open up to a POV to a US Marine sitting in a riding passenger seat in a Humvee heading towards a damaged bridge near the town in The Red Zone in Ukraine.
An RPG round is seen being fired from across the river and it flies towards the Humvee.
US Marine:*in fear* OH SHIT!!!
US Soldier: RPG!!!
The rocket hits the Humvee, the explosion blows him off his seat and he lands on the ground.]
"Talk about starting this off with a bang." Neptune stated.
Sun nodded in agreement, "We're going straight into the action."
Elm looked at William asked, "What's an RPG?"
William, trying to explain to Elm and the others, elaborated, "It's a type of projectile launcher used to take down vehicles and fortified positions. They're highly dangerous and can cause significant damage on impact."
As the characters from both universes listened intently, they realized the gravity of the situation depicted in the scene they were about to witness. The tension in the theater rose as they prepared themselves for the imminent action and the events about to unfold.
[The US Marine comes to from shell-shock. US Marines, US Soldiers and Ukrainian Army Soldiers and Russian soldiers are fighting for control of the bridge. An M104 Wolverine, callsign Bigfoot, is seen trying to lay a bridge while the Soldiers and Marines protect it from RPGs. USMC Major General Austin Reeves is seen standing above him, reloading his .44 Magnum, before he sees him on the ground. M1A2 Abrams tanks and 105mm Stryker MGS vehicles lay down supporting fire for the Soldiers, Marines and Bigfoot.
Reeves: Get up, Pvt. Towson! The Few. The Proud. The Marines! Move!
Reeves shouted to the US Marine who appear to be Anthony Towson as he grabbed him by his MARPAT collar and throws him to the fight.
Anthony: Yes, sir!]
This somewhat shocks and surprised the audience who looked at the very man with them sitting at rear.
Anthony sighs, "Was drafted after I turned 18 years old, after that I spent three months in boot camp. Then had 10 days of leave and was deployed at that very battle you all are watching."
The characters in the theater were captivated by Anthony's revelation, the gravity of his experience sinking in. They watched the intense battle scene unfold on the stage, realizing that the events they were witnessing had been a part of Anthony's real-life experiences.
Ironwood, his military background resonating with the situation, nodded solemnly. "Military service is a sacrifice, and each soldier faces unique challenges."
Ruby and Yang exchanged concerned glances, understanding the weight of war and conflict firsthand from their own experiences.
Winter, her demeanor serious, spoke up. "The realities of war can be unforgiving. It takes immense courage to face such adversities."
Neptune and Sun looked at Anthony with newfound respect, realizing the bravery required in such circumstances.
As the characters watched the intense battle unfold, they were reminded of the sacrifices made by individuals like Anthony, witnessing the raw and unfiltered reality of warfare and the valor displayed by those who answered the call to serve.
"He could have at least check if you didn't sustain any injuries when your vehicle exploded." Velvet stated, a bit worried for the Marine.
"I doubt that there was need for that, Velvet." Anthony assured the rabbit Faunus, "I did jumped out of that vehicle when the rocket hit it."
Anthony's reassurance seemed to alleviate some of Velvet's worry. She nodded understandingly, relieved to know that he had managed to escape the vehicle before the explosion occurred.
"I'm glad you made it out safely," Velvet replied, her concern evident in her voice. "War zones can be incredibly dangerous, and your quick thinking probably saved you from serious harm."
Anthony nodded in agreement. "Absolutely, staying alert and reacting swiftly is crucial in those situations."
[There was one more thing that caught the Anthony's attention and it was a Ukrainian Army Soldier which was right next to him. He didn't seem to care about the fact that he was in the middle of a firefight as he was eating a freshly opened chocolate bar.
Anthony:*in disbelief* What the fuck?]
Dustin narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms, "Is that soldier eating a chocolate bar in the middle of a firefight serious?"
"Talk about a great timing for a snack." Yang chuckled along with Ruby, Nora, Jaune, Sun, and Neptune. While a few shook their heads.
"My kind of guy." Qrow stated.
Summer placed her hand on her chin as a memory flew through her head, "It reminds of the time when I was on the mission with Qrow and he started drinking his liquor while we were facing off a pack of Grimm."
Winter turned to look at Qrow and shook her head, "I was expecting nothing less from you."
"Screw you, Ice Queen."
Winter exhaled deeply, clearly annoyed by Qrow's response, as he smirked at her reaction. He was going to use this excuse a lot from now on.
Otto chuckles as memory flew through his head too, "It reminds of the time during a firefight that one chick stole a whole truck load of cookies from an enemy base. Needless to say, we were pissed off as we didn't have milk."
"That girl has excellent priorities." Ruby, Summer, and Veronica stated.
Veronica being curious asked Otto a question, "What happened to the girl?"
"She got killed by a landmine." Otto deadpans.
The mood in the theater shifted somberly as Otto's recounting took an unexpected turn, casting a shadow over the light-heartedness of the previous anecdotes. The mention of the soldier eating a chocolate bar amidst danger had prompted various memories among the characters, some humorous, while others more reflective.
Qrow's smirk faded as he exchanged a knowing glance with Summer, recognizing the inherent risk and absurdity within chaotic situations.
Ruby and Summer exchanged concerned glances, their expressions reflecting a mix of amusement at the anecdotes and a sober acknowledgment of the harsh realities of warfare.
Veronica's curiosity turned to a moment of realization, the gravity of war and its unpredictable outcomes becoming apparent in Otto's response. The mention of the soldier's fate brought a hush over the audience, highlighting the fragility and unpredictability of life during wartime.
The characters, now understanding the blend of humor and tragedy inherent in war stories, reflected on the bittersweet nature of such memories, all the while preparing themselves for the continuation of the intense scene playing out before them.
[Frank: Papa 2! Keep up the pressure on those RPG teams! If that bridgelayer gets hit, we're swimming, hoorah?
Frank declared as he turned to look at Anthony who was not too far from him.
Frank: Marine! Switch to your M203! Drop some rounds on 'em across the river!
Anthony: You got it, Sgt!
Anthony pulls out his M16A4 Grenadier w/Holographic Sight and fires at the Russian soldiers across the river. The Stryker MGS Bugs takes out an Russian BMP-2 on the other side of the river.
US Marine: Warlord, Warlord. This is Papa Two-One. Requesting airstrike on grid 252171. Target is a white twelve-story apartment building. Over.
Anthony loaded another 40mm grenade into his grenade launcher before firing it at his enemies.
Devil One-One:*on the radio* Papa Two-One, this is Devil One-One, flight of two F-16s. Time on station, 1-5 mike, holding at three Sierra northwest, holding area Knife, carrying two JDAMs and two HARMs, over. Стоячи поруч. {Standing by.}]
"What he say?" Roman stated to what Devil One-One said on the last part.
Nina answered, "Стоячи поруч. It means 'Standing by' in Ukrainian."
"What's Ukrainian?" Sienna asked.
Nina points at herself, "The language and demonym that both myself and my twin brother Boyko are and speak." She said as also points to Boyko and continues explaining.
Nina's explanation garnered curious looks from those unfamiliar with the term. Sienna and a few others in the audience leaned in, intrigued by the new information.
Sienna nodded, trying to grasp the concept. "So, Ukrainian is a language spoken by people from your country?"
Nina nodded in confirmation. "Yes, exactly. It's the official language of Ukraine, spoken by the majority of the population. It's a Slavic language with its own unique script and linguistic characteristics."
Boyko chimed in, elaborating on his sister's explanation. "It's a part of our identity as Ukrainians. Our language carries our history, culture, and heritage."
Sienna nodded, understanding a bit more about the linguistic and cultural aspects of their homeland.
Roman, always one to gather information, added, "That's interesting. Thanks for the explanation."
[US Marine: Devil One-One. Target is a white twelve-story apartment building at grid 252171. I need you to level that building. How copy, over?
Devil One-One:*on the radio* Solid copy, Papa Two-One. Rolling in now. Target acquired.
It was when some enemies appeared on the bridge and started firing at the bridgelayer in an attempt to stop it, which would stop the allies from getting on the other side of the river.
Frank quickly noticed that, and immediately knew what to do.
Frank: On the bridge, 10 o' clock high! Multiple targets, take 'em out!
US Marine: Up on the bridge, far side!
Anthony quickly followed his order and looked up to see enemies firing at the bridelayer. He switched from his M203 back to his M16A4 and aimed her it at his enemies and opened fire, intending to stop them from doing anything to the bridgelayer.
Anthony: They're retreating, keep hitting 'em!
He reloaded his M16A4 and his enemies turned around, away from them and started fleeing into the city as Anthony and his fellow allies continued to fire at them, managing to kill a few of them but a good portion of them managed to flee into the city as the bridgelayer was done with laying down a bridge at this point.
Most of the enemies on the bridge were already taken care of at this point and those who remained turned back and started retreating as the bridgelayer started laying down a bridge.
Frank: Papa 2! Bridge complete, we're Oscar Mike!
Frank declared, as he moved out of his cover.
Frank: Move out!]
"Oscar Mike?" Fox asked, as he never heard of it, "What does that mean?"
"I don't know." Elec answered, "Never heard of it before."
Jaune looked at David, "What does Oscar Mike mean?"
"On the Move." David answered.
"Okay." Jaune said.
"Exactly," David confirmed to Jaune, "Oscar Mike is military radio jargon that means 'On the Move.' It's used to indicate that it's time to start moving or advancing to the next objective."
The characters nodded, now understanding the military slang used during the intense battle scenario they were witnessing.
[Female US Soldier: We're movin' out!
A female US Soldier declared as Anthony started moving towards a wooden staircase which was leading to the bridge.
Ukrainian Soldier: Let's go, let's go! Get your ass back in the vehicle.
US Ranger: Battalion is Oscar Mike!
Female US Soldier: We're Oscar Mike. Move it! We're movin' out now! Mount up!
Anthony made his way up the wooden staircase, joining the other troops on the bridge. The allies surrounding his were either staring at the city ahead of them or getting themselves into the Humvees or JLTVs. He quickly walked over to the closest Humvee and got himself into it. He mans a M134 Minigun turret and stared at the city in front of him. The Soldiers and Marines waiting for the airstrike can be seen recording the action on their cellphones.]
Coco smirked, looking forward to see this version of a gun similar to hers does.
Summer then looked at Wesley and asked, "I know that's a Minigun. But what's it called?"
"That's an M134 Minigun," Wesley explained to Summer. "It's a multi-barrel machine gun capable of firing a high volume of ammunition at an incredibly fast rate. It's commonly used in aircraft and mounted on vehicles due to its rapid fire and suppressive capabilities."
Summer nodded, taking in the information as she observed Anthony preparing to engage with the powerful weapon.
Weiss takes note on the cellphones a few of the Soldiers and Marines pulled out, "So have guys have Scrolls too."
Lincoln was quick to correct her, "Oh they ain't Scrolls. Their Smartphones."
"Smartphones?" Ilia questioned.
"Yes, smartphones," Lincoln confirmed. "They're handheld mobile devices that are more than just communication tools. They allow people to make calls, send texts, access the internet, and do a whole lot more. They're like a compact computer in your pocket, basically."
Ilia nodded, trying to process the information. "So, they're like multifunctional communication devices?"
"Exactly," Lincoln replied. "They're not just for communication; they're also used for taking pictures, videos, browsing the internet, playing games, and running various applications."
"So like a Scroll." Jacques said proudly.
"Fuck no. Because unlike a Scroll. We don't need a CCT." Tom said to the false Schnee, but shocking everyone that isn't from Earth like the 'fight for NATO' series characters and the political leaders.
Watts being very intelligent being he is asked the million Lien/Dollar/Peso question, "You all don't have any Cross Continental Transmit Systems?"
"Nope."
"No."
"Nien."
"Nah."
"No."
"Hell nah."
"Fuck no."
"Немає."
"Нет."
"いいえ。"
Tom shook his head, confirming their absence of CCT systems. "No, we don't have anything like that. Our world's communication technology isn't as interconnected or advanced across continents like yours."
This revelation left the RWBY characters surprised, realizing the stark technological differences between their world and the others represented in the group.
Jet was now curious, "So are they made-"
"We ain't telling y'all shit." Lincoln said cutting off Jet mid-sentence.
The abrupt interruption by Lincoln left Jet's curiosity unaddressed, silencing any further inquiry. The characters from 'fight for NATO' series and the political leaders seemed reluctant or unwilling to divulge more details about their advanced technology or its origins to the RWBY characters.
The atmosphere became tense as Lincoln's firm response indicated a clear boundary regarding sharing details about their world's advancements. It left Jet and others from the RWBY world wondering about the reasons behind this secrecy and the stark differences between their respective technological capabilities.
[US Ranger: Ten seconds!
Female US Soldier: Which building is it?
The female US Soldier asked her fellow US soldier, recording the city with her cellphone. She didn't had to wait long for the answer.
US Soldier: It's that tall one at one o'clock.
US Marine: Hey, which building?
A US Marine called out to them from the other side of the bridge
US Soldier: The one at one o'clock! The ta-...
The US soldier was about to answer this question but he paused.
US Soldier: Hey, Cooper, which building is it, is it the one on the left or the right?
A USMC SSgt. named Ryan Cooper laughed as he pointed at the building on the left.
Ryan: The one on the left.
Anthony: Hey, isn't this danger close for the task force?
Female US Soldier:*shugs* C'mon, since when does Reeves care about danger close?]
"I think we should make a mental note of that." Raven whispered to Vernal
"Why?" Vernal asked her.
"Just in case if this general pulls off something like that in the future." Raven explained.
Vernal nodded in agreement, "Good point."
David, Frank, Dustin, Anthony, and Lincoln heard that.
The whispered conversation between Raven and Vernal caught the attention of David, Frank, Dustin, Anthony, and Lincoln from the 'fight for NATO' series. Their acute ears picked up the conversation regarding noting a general's disregard for danger close situations.
David exchanged a quick glance with Frank and Dustin, acknowledging the observation. Meanwhile, Anthony and Lincoln appeared intrigued by the mention of a general's potential risky tactics.
It seemed like the characters from both worlds were attentively observing and internalizing the information shared among the RWBY characters. The mention of the general's approach to danger close situations sparked curiosity and concern among them, highlighting the potential ramifications of such strategies in future events.
[An F-16 flew in right above the troops and the building which was it's target, firing a missile on it. The building exploded as the soldiers and marines let out loud cheers of excitement as the smoke started to blind their vision a bit, but none of them cared about that because the smoke started to disappear shorty after.
Female US Soldier: Yeah!
Frank: Whoo-hoo!
US Marine: Get some, baby!
Anthony: Oorah!
Ryan: You don't get this on the Fourth of July!]
"They sound so excited." Tai and Summer chuckled at how the soldiers and marines were excited by this explosion.
"Awesome!" Nora cheered, sounding just as excited as the soldiers and marines were.
"Such a destructive weapon." Ironwood said in awe, thinking how useful this weapon would be against a huge horde of Grimm.
"Really?" Frank asked Ironwood as he chuckles, "To us that's a fuckin' Tuesday!"
Mina chimed in, "Yeah! No such thing as overkill!"
The varying reactions showcased how different individuals perceived the spectacle, from amusement to a matter-of-fact attitude, depending on their experiences and backgrounds.
[Female US Soldier: All right, we're Oscar Mike!
The female US Soldier shouted as the allies behind the wheels of the Humvees and JLTVs started up their vehicles.
US Marine: Battalion is Oscar Mike!
Frank: We're on the move!
Ryan: Oh look! The building's going down!
Ryan said as remains of the building were slowly collapsing on the ground as the Humvees' JLTVs' started making their way through the bridge.
US Soldier: The network's gonna pay big for this one!
The other US Soldier stated, sounding quite excited about it.
Ryan:*chuckling* Keep dreaming, Spielberg.]
"Spielberg?" Trifa exchanged a confused look with Yuma who shrugged.
"A well known movie director from our world." Hina explained, "He is responsible for many classic movies."
"Are his movies good?" Nora asked.
"Steven Spielberg is widely regarded as a highly talented and influential filmmaker. Many of his movies are considered classics and have been well-received by both critics and audiences." Jacob explained, "Some of his most famous films include 'Jurassic Park,' 'E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,' 'Jaws,' 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' 'Schindler's List,' and 'Saving Private Ryan.' Overall, Spielberg's movies are often praised for their storytelling, direction, and impact on cinema."
[US Soldier: Naw, man, seriously! That was extreme!
The Humvees and JLTVs make it across the bridge to the other side and begin to move into the town.
US 75th Ranger: Hunter 2, breakin' away.
Hunter Two declared as Anthony observed the buildings surrounding him as the small building which was ahead of him collapsed down, causing the smoke to engulf the entire area around it.
Lincoln: Copy Papa Two-One.
Lincoln responded in understanding as the smoke began to blind Anthony's view of the streets.]
This made the ones from look at Lincoln who just smirks at them.
"Yep. Before I became what I am now. I was a soldier in the US Army. My rank was Major at the time. Then I ranked up to Colonel 3 years later. And five after that I became the President of the United States." Lincoln said with a proud smile.
"You a King, right?" Lincoln smiled dropped when he heard Jacques.
"Excuse you?"
"America, is ruled by a king. Am I correct?" Jacques continued but unknowingly pissing off both Lincoln, Baker 2-4, and Baker 2-5.
"Can I shoot him?" Mina whispered to Mihaly.
"No. But you can break his neck." He whispered back.
"It seems like there's a big misunderstanding here." Host said, "President Clinton was a military officer and then became the President of the United States, but the United States is not a monarchy, and the president isn't a king. Jacques might have the wrong idea about the U.S. government. But let's keep the peace and avoid any neck-breaking, Ms. Takahashi."
"Also," David chimed in, "the United States isn't ruled by a king. The President serves and our head of state and government."
"Yeah, like king would do when in power." Jacques added, "What makes your President different from from a king?"
Anthony glared at the man's naïve personality, "Asshole."
"No no, its alright." Lincoln cut him off before looking back at the false Schnee, "White hair, perfection atmosphere, and simple-minded. You definitely fit the characteristics...."
Jacques was both pleased and insulted at this man's comment, "Yes, I am-"
"The characteristics of a racist asshole that was probably dropped as baby." Lincoln finish causing almost everyone to either bust out laughing or spit-take their drinks and laugh. Mostly the Faunus in there joined in the laughter.
Jacques gets upset but Host calms them down to avoid any bloodshed.
[Frank: All Papa Two victors, keep an eye out for civvies, we're not cleared to engage unless they fire first. Scan the rooftops for hostiles. Stay frosty.
Dust and dirt blinds Anthony's view of the street.
Female US Soldier: You see anything?
The female US soldier driving Anthony's Humvee asked as he did his best to scan his surroundings, as he slowly started to regain his normal vision.
Anthony: I got nothin' Ramirez. This place is dead.
Karen Ramirez: Hooah.]
"He is going to jinx them, isn't he?." Emerald whispered to Mercury.
Her partner nodded in agreement, "Yup."
"Just how long it will take for these guys to attack them?" Emerald asked him to which Mercury shrugged.
It's hard to say exactly when or if an attack will happen. Situations like this can build tension and anticipation, but there's no sure way to predict when things might escalate. It's all about staying vigilant and prepared for anything.
Host, observing the characters' reactions and conversations, noted the tension building among them, amplifying the sense of uncertainty in the theater. The experiment had succeeded in bringing together characters from diverse backgrounds, uniting them in a shared experience that transcended the boundaries of their respective universes.
[Frank: Sir, Papa 2-1. We're passing tunnel Харві, cross street Єлизавета.
Lincoln:*on the radio*Roger that Papa 2-1, proceed with caution.
Karen: Alright, stay frosty you guys, this is the Wild West.
Anthony: Roger that.
Karen reminded her fellow troops as the Humvee drove into a road between the very poor-looking buildings. Anthony could spot one civilian running away from them in panic, before taking a shelter in one of those buildings.
Karen: Watch those alleys.
Ryan: Covering.
Ryan answered as the Humvees and JLTVs approached a building with three completely unarmed members of the people that the troops were facing just a moment ago. A fourth one can be seen watching from a window above the other three as the window shutters swing in the wind.
Papa 2-3: Three-foot-mobiles, balcony 12 'o clock. Probable militia...
Papa 2-3 exclaimed as Anthony looked up at the unarmed militia members who were simply glancing down at the Humvees passing right by them.
Frank: Are they armed?
Papa 2-3: Negative, they're just watching us.
Karen: I bet they're scouting us.
Ryan: Eh, but that don't mean we can shoot 'em.]
"Trust your instincts." Blake said.
"I have a bad feeling about this." Pyrrha said, "These guys can ambush them at any moment."
"Me too." Kali agreed with her, "It is just like you said. They're just asking themselves to be ambushed."
"They're gonna ambush them at any moment." Qrow stated.
The characters braced themselves, aware of the potential danger lurking in the environment, ready for any sudden escalation that might unfold as the troops navigated through the uncertain streets.
[The militiamen continue to eye the Humvees and JLTVs as they pass and continue through the town. As the Humvees and JLTVs turn into another street, sniper bullets ricochet off the Humvees and JLTVs .]
"And... it happened." Falcon remarked.
"Knew it." Qrow said.
[Karen: Can you see 'em?
Anthony: I don't see jack shit!
Anthony started to look around himself and the other Humvees and L-ATV, trying to spot the sniper.
Frank: All Papa and Alpha victors, this is Sergeant Riverton. Prepare to engage, we're taking sniper fire from multiple directions.
Karen: Prepare to engage! We're goin' in!
Karen shouted as the Humvees and L-ATV turned into another street and stopped in front of a building which seemed to be some sort of school.
Ryan: This is it! Spin 'em up!
Ryan cried out as Anthony started firing his minigun at his enemies who were standing on the roof of the school in front of him, taking down as many enemies as he could, without receiving much damage from them.
US Soldier: There they are, light 'em up!
Everything changed when an RPG rocket went flying through one of the windows and hit the Humvee in front of him, causing it to explode, and the explosion killed every soldier and marine that was inside of it. Anthony's vision became blurry for a second as his Humvee was stopped from driving further because of the destroyed one was blocking it's path.
Anthony: There's too many of 'em! Back up!
Anthony shouted as the Humvee and L-ATV started backing down the street.
Anthony's Humvee along with the a L-ATV drove into another street and started driving away from the school. The two vehicles started making their way through the city, with the people using the miniguns and .50s at this moment taking care of as many enemies as they could right now.
Frank: Get us outta here! Drive!
Karen: Slow down, we're getting strung out!
A technical pulls in front of Frank's Humvee.]
"Why are they not doing anything?" Ilia asked.
"Push through the car blocking your path!" Roman shouted, "I doubt that they will mind!"
"Technical." Anya corrected.
"Technical?" Roman asked as he looked at the Russian woman.
"In military jargon, a 'technical' typically refers to a civilian vehicle, often modified with mounted weaponry. It's a common term used to describe these types of makeshift combat vehicles." Anya explained to Roman.
[Anthony made sure to take out everyone who was in that technical before turning his attention to the militiamen on the buildings, firing the minigun as if his life depended on it, because it did.
Karen: We're cut off!
Frank: Push through!
The Humvee pushes the technical through the street. Fighting continues as enemies on the rooftops fire on the Humvees and L-ATV and Anthony continues to spray the minigun up at them. An Russian soldier fires an RPG from the top floor of the building ahead of them.
Anthony: RPG! Top floor! Dead ahead!
Papa 2-1's Humvee is hit and destroyed. Anthony jumped out of the Humvee in the last second, landing on the ground as the Humvee exploded right after. Fortunately for him, he wasn't the only survivor. Frank, Karen, Ryan, and the other US Marine survived the explosion as well and made their way into the closest building. Anthony quickly got himself back on his feet and entered the building as well.]
"Anthony has a very bad luck when it comes to getting hit with the rockets in this mission." Yatsuhashi stated, earning nods from agreement from some of the people in the audience.
"Yeah." Coco nodded, agreeing with what her teammate just said about Anthony and rockets.
Anthony just grumbles from the memory.
[Frank: Get off the street! Is everyone alright?
Frank asked his fellow allies, earning nods of confirmation from them in response.
Karen: Hooah.
Shots are heard from up the stairs of building their in.
Ryan: They're movin' around upstairs! Let's fuck 'em up!
Ryan stated as Anthony reloaded his M16A4, making sure that he was going to have the full magazine in case if he will have to face any of his enemies.
The enemy soldiers at the top of the stairs are killed.
Frank: Get away from those windows and secure the top floor! Move! Move! Get a flashbang in there!
Frank ordered as everyone started heading towards a staircase which was leading to another floor.
Anthony nodded as he threw flashbang up there.
Anthony: BANGER!!
Hearing how his enemies started cursing when it exploded. He was the first one to make his way up there and he was greeted by the view of three blinded soldiers. He got rid of them rather quickly as Frank, Karen, Ryan, and the other US Marine joined him on the top floor.
They started moving further into the building, taking out anyone who happened to be standing in their way, which wasn't much. There were only two more soldiers on the floor before they reached the exit from the building. The first thing he saw when he stepped through it was the same school where he and his fellow allies were ambushed at a few moments ago.]
"They crashed this close to this place?" Duke asked, confused.
"I doubt that they were paying to that when they were choosing which way to go." Kimble pointed out.
Tanner nodded in agreement, "Yeah. They were most likely worried about the fact that these guys were shooting at them from each side."
[Frank: Papa 2-1 to Hunter 2-3. I have eyes on the school, over! Squad on me let's go!
Anthony runs out the door of the building and heads across the street to the school where soldiers are seen occupying the school and are fighting the Soldiers and Marines who are shooting from across the playground.
Hunter's 2-3 response came very quickly.
Hunter 2-3:*on the radio*2-1, we are combat ineffective up here! We're taking heavy fire from the school, can you assist, over?
Frank: Keep it together, 2-3! We're on the way! 2-1 out!
Frank answered, making his way towards the school with the others.
They quickly took care of the three soldiers that were standing in front of the entrance to the school before they entered the building, only to be greeted by the sight of two more soldiers running down the stairs. They didn't even had a chance to do anything as Anthony, Frank, Karen, Ryan, and the other US Marine took them out without any problem.
Karen: Whoa watch it! Some of 'em just went in that classroom on the right!
Ryan: Hunter 2-3, Papa 2-1, we're in the school. Heavy resistance.
Hunter 2-3:*on the radio*Copy that Hunter 2-1.
Frank, Ryan and the US Marine started making their way to the stairs which were leading to another floor of the school as Anthony and Karen went together into the of the classrooms, checking if there were any enemies there, and it was good that they did, because there were two enemies waiting for them there.
Anthony and Karen shared a look with each other as they took care of these two men, before joining Frank, Ryan and the US Marine on the hallway, meaning that the first floor was cleared out.
Frank: Keep moving! We need to take the heat off Hunter 2-3!
Frank reminded his fellow troops as they made their way to the second floor.
They entered the second floor and the first thing that Ryan did was taking care of the two soldiers that were shooting from the windows.
Anthony: Yeah, I'm cutting through history class now, Henderson.
Anthony exclaimed as he was checking if the classroom next to them was empty, which luckily for them was.
Daniel Henderson(US Marine): Roger that.
Without either of them noticing their presence before it was too late. They made their way through the hallway and turned to the right, seeing a few more soldiers shooting from the windows, without even spotting them.]
"They really didn't notice that their friends were just killed by those troops?" Weiss asked.
Blake shrugged, "Apparently not."
"Good for me, Cooper and Henderson, then." Anthony stated, earning nods of agreement from his comrades and friends.
[The three marines didn't waste any second and got rid of these men, with Hunter's 2-3 words ringing through their ears right after.
Hunter 2-3:*on the radio*Papa 2-1, this is Hunter 2-3, thanks for the assist! We're leaving on Hunter Three's humvee, over!
Frank nodded his head to that as he walked past the bodies along with Anthony, Karen, Ryan, and Daniel.
Frank: Roger that 2-3.
They proceeded to make their way through the school. They didn't came across many more enemies as they were making their way through the hallways.
Anthony: I think I saw one run into that classroom.
Karen: Clear! Two comin' out!
There were only three more soldiers left in the school, and they didn't cause any trouble for them and it was just a matter of seconds before they joined their dead friends on the floor.
Frank: Papa 2-1 Actual to Eagle.
Frank called out to Lincoln as they existed the school and ran into the streets.
Lincoln:*on the radio*Papa 2-1 Actual this is Eagle, send traffic.
Lincoln instantly responded to Frank's call.
Frank: The school is secure and hostiles are withdrawing from the area. We're just moppin' up now.
Lincoln:*on the radio*Solid copy Papa 2-1 Actual, proceed with caution to the rally point. EPWs may still be alive. Over.
Frank: Roger that Eagle, thanks for the tip. Out.
Frank nodded his head, as he and his squad continued to make their way through the streets.
Ryan: Squad, watch for enemy stragglers! Let's get to that rally point!
They ran into the street on their right and quickly spotted a few soldiers running out of a alley. They didn't spot them and Frank's squad used this opportunity to take them out. It was only a matter of several seconds before the soldiers laid on the ground, dead, as Frank and his squad made their way past them, and walked into another alley which was leading to the rally point.
Karen: Clear!
An enemy with a pistol appeared in their view, but they didn't even had to take care of him, because someone else already did that for them. They walked through the alley, passing by two Ukrainian soldiers who were the ones that took man out, making their way to the rally point where USMC Major General Reeves was waiting for them with the other allies.
Reeves: Get the wounded to the shock trauma unit! Use my helicopter!
They get to the rally point out the end of the alley where Reeves is waiting with other Rangers, Marines and Ukrainian soldiers, along with several Humvees, JLTVs, LAVs and Strykers.
Before turning his attention to Frank's squad. He set his gaze on Anthony, before speaking up to him and his fellow allies.
Reeves: Everyone, good work on taking the town. Private First Class Towson, you'll be taking orders from me from now on. I'll brief you on the chopper. Let's go.
Anthony: Sir, yes sir!
Frank:*in the background* Battalion is Oscar Mike!
Anthony follows Reeves to the chopper for his next assignment.
It was the last thing that happened in the mission as the screen went to black shorty after.]
