Blake POV

I sat on the other side of the table with Ruby, as she still sad at Khiry. I'm still sad as well. Weiss slam two pieces of tablecloth in front of us as we look up.

Weiss: I need you two to pick a tablecloth.

We look at the tablecloth. Ruby look confused for a second when I realize they both look the same.

Ruby: Aren't they both the same?

Blake: My thoughts exactly.

Weiss sighed out of frustration.

Weiss: I don't even know why I asked.

Weiss walk away while Yang is carrying a big speaker. When she put it down, the shockwave causes us to bounce up a bit, along with the table. She dust her hands & comes towards us.

Yang: So, have you two picked out a dress yet?

Blake: I have.

Ruby: What's the point? Who cares about the dance if Khiry isn't going?

Blake: Don't worry, Ruby. I know he's going.

When Yang look at Weiss, she is putting some doilies.

Yang: Weiss! I thought We agreed! No doilies!

Weiss: If I don't get doilies, you don't get fog machines.

The door open & when we look, we see Sun & Neptune, Walking up to us.

Neptune: Your dance is gonna have fog machines?

Weiss: We were thinking about it.

Neptune: That's pretty cool.

Sun: You ladies all excited for dress up?

Ruby: Pfft, yeah right.

Yang: Laugh all you want. I'll be turning heads tomorrow night.

Blake: Maybe boys will drop their jaws, too.

Weiss: What are you two wearing?

Sun: Uh, this.

Sun said this as he shows us what he is wearing now.

Neptune: Ignore him, for he knows not what he says.

Sun: Hey, I may have moved to Mistral, but I grew up in Vacuo. It's not exactly a shirt & tie kinda place.

Blake: It's very noticeable.

Sun scratch the back of his head to think about something.

Sun: So, uh... what does Khiry think of all this? He still didn't talk to you, Blake?

When he asked me, I shake my head in sadden.

Blake: He hasn't talk to anyone. I don't think there is a way to change his mind.

Yang: Guys.

We all look at Yang.

Yang: Trust me. Khiry will be at the dance tomorrow. Do you know where the last place he stay?

Blake: You can try the courtyard.

My POV

I was laying down on the bench, ignoring my hunger & everyone else as I stare into the orange sky as the sun is setting. I look at my stomach as it kept growling. I look back at the sky. Somehow, my nose detect a succulent smell. I jump up & as my wolf instinct kick in, along with my stomach. I look around to find it. I use my nose to follow the scent. When I got close, I look ahead to see Yang Xiao Long, holding a plate with a Smokehouse BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich with crispy onions fries & coleslaw.

Yang: 🎵Hellooooo!🎵

I turn around & proceed to leave, but she grab my wrist in an iron grip. I tried to break free from it, but she got it lock tight.

Yang: We need to talk. I know what you're feeling about your mother. I can understand. Me & Ruby can relate to you.

I was still emotionless, but shocked to hear that. I turn my head toward her.

Me: Your mother left you?

She nodded. I know I don't have a choice to leave. If I'm going to get out of this, she will have to talk about that. I sighed out of defeat.

Me: Fine. Talk.

She grinned, but instead of talking now, she took me to an empty classroom.

Yang POV

I got Khiry alone to tell him my story on both my & Ruby's mom. I sat down at the teacher's desk. I motion him to sit in front of me & he did. I gave him the sandwich & he, literally, tried to wolf it down. I was going to make a joke, but he look at me with the instinct.

Me: Don't even think about it.

I hold up my hands in surrender.

Yang: I won't.

Me: So, what is it that you want to tell me?

Yang: Ruby & I grew up in Patch. An island just off the coast of Vale. Our parents were Huntsmen. Our dad taught at Signal & our mom would take on missions around the Kingdom. Her name was Summer Rose.

Me: Ruby's mom.

Yang: Yeah.

Me: What was she like?

Yang: She was, like Super mom. Baker of cookies & slayer of giant monsters.

Me: Heh, I can relate to having a super mom.

Yang: & then, one day she left for a mission & never came back. It was tough. Ruby was really torn up, but I think she was still too young to really get what was going on, ya know?

Me: What about your dad?

Yang: My dad just kinda... shut down. Like you. It's wasn't long before I learned why.

Me: Can you pause your story? I want to see if I get this right.

I look at him with the sad expression on my face.

Me: So, Summer is Ruby's mom, yet both of you are half sisters?

I nodded.

Me: Okay. Both of you have the same dad, but have the different mom. Ruby is 15 & we're 17. Your mom was the first love he'd lost & Summer was the second?

I was surprised to hear that from him.

Yang: How?

Me: A little info is all a good detective needs.

Yang: About her.... He wouldn't tell me everything. But I learned that the two of them had been on a team with Summer & Qrow. & that she'd left me with him just after I was born. No one had seen her since.

Me: But why?

I sigh at the word.

Yang: That question... Why?

I got up & went to the chalkboard.

Yang: I didn't know the answer, but I was determined to find out. It was all I thought about. I would ask anybody I could what they knew about her. Then... one day... I found something. What I thought was a clue that could lead me to answers. Or maybe even my mother. I waited for dad to leave the house, put Ruby in a wagon & headed out. I must've walked for hours. I had cuts & bruises, was totally exhausted. But I wasn't going to let anything stop me. When we finally got there, I could barely stand. But I didn't care. I had made it. & then I saw them. Those burning red eyes. There we were, a toddler asleep in the back of a wagon & a stupid girl too exhausted to even cry for help. We might as well have been served on a silver platter. But, as luck would have it, our uncle showed up just in time. My stubbornness should've gotten us killed that night.

Me: You damn right. But I can sense why you understand my pain. You were still determined from that day. But what this story gotta do with me?

Yang: I'm not going to tell you to stop. I haven't. To this day, I still want to what happened to my mother, & why she left me.

Me: I see. You have never let search control you. I admired that idea. I have never done that before, but......

I turn my attention to Khiry as he have his head down enough to cover his eyes. However, what surprised me was that tears are running down his face. I have never seen him cry this much.

Me: I want someone who can understand what I have been, talk me out of the pain. Even if I'm too stubborn to listen.

I saw Blake at the stand. I quickly motion her to come down towards us. When she close to Khiry, she also sees the tears. Even she have never seen him cry before. She put her right hand on his cheek as he react to the touch to see her. She wipe the next tear with her thumb.

Blake: Can you try to get some rest, not just for you & me....

Yang: ...but also for the people you cared about?

He was about to cry, but he hug both of us. We hug him back.

Me: Thank you.

We stopped hugging & I decided to give these two some privacy. I was about to head out....

Yang: Khiry, if you're coming tomorrow, I'll save you a dance.

My POV

We watch Yang leave the room. I turn my attention to Blake. She walk close enough to me & She lean her head for our foreheads to touch. We were staring into each other eyes.

Me: Blake, I... I'm sorry the way I acted. I just don't wanna screw this up.

Blake: Am I your...?

Me: First? Yeah. I'll go to the dance with you.

Blake: So....?

Me: I gotta be the man of my word. I'll dance with her first. Then I'll dance with first all night.

She smile at me. The next thing she did is gave me a passionate kiss on the lips. We broke off for oxygen.

Me: Meet me & Sun at the courtyard in front of the dance.

Blake: I will.

She decided to head out, leaving me alone in the classroom. I decided to stuff my stomach with food & head to sleep.

Sun & I are walking down the courtyard to wait for Blake. I got Sun wearing a black dress shirt & a tie. I was wearing a new tuxedo bought by Weiss. Sun is constantly messing with his tie.

Sun: Do I really have to wear this neck trap?

Me: If I'm wearing it, so can you. & stop messing around with it.

I started to straighten & loosen the tie.

Me: We compromised the term for your..... suit. Besides, you're wearing my neck tie.

Blake: I think you'd look better in a tie.

We turn around & see Blake in a beautiful purple & a light blue bow on her head. I have never seen her in a dress before. She walk towards me & link her arm in mine. We all walk to the dance.

Sun: You're face is burning, Khiry.

Me: Sun.

Sun: So, are you going to dance with her?

Me: Well, I have gave my first dance to a girl who help me out.

We open the door & see Yang wearing a white dress on.

Yang: There's the couple.

Me: No yellow dress?

Yang: Decided to change it up a bit. What do you think?

She gave a twirl at us.

Me: Very nice.

Yang: So, ready?

Me: Just. One. Dance.

I took Yang's hand & lead her to the dance floor & dance with her. I gave her few motions moves, a couple of twirls, & a final bow that we ended the dance. Blake came up to me & we started to dance.

Me: To be honest, I thought you girls would drag me to the dance.

She laughed at that & we dancing for the night. Sometimes, this is a great change for once in my life to enjoyed.
