Church's Last Words:
Church's Last Words: Season 13 Episode 20 Finale
"Prepare to breach." A voice was heard behind the door.
Sarge got his shot gun ready. "Well gentlemen, looks like this is it."
Simmons turned his head towards his Sargent. "Sir, it's been an honor."
"If I die, make sure my parts are recycled." Lopez said in Spanish. Of course Donut assumed something else.
"I love you too Lopez." Donut replied glumly, his voice failing on him.
"Aw, that's so sweet." Doc cooed, but O'Malley took over after. "Now, let us strike fear into the hearts of our enemies." O'Malley laughed evilly, cocking his rocket launcher at the soon to be destroyed door.
Grif looked at Doc. "That's the smartest thing you ever said." His voice holding a bit of misery.
Lastly, it was Church's best friend, Caboose. "Yeah, let's get em!" The adorable blue idiot cried.
Church looked down. "Hey, uh..." Church stopped. "I just want you guys to know, that out of everyone I've ever met, I hate you all the least."
"See you on the other side, Church." Tucker told Church sadly.
Everything stopped, and Church looked down, sighing. "Not this time, buddy." He muttered solemnly to himself as he turned his head towards Delta.
"Are you sure about this?" The green AI asked Church quietly.
"I'm sure." Church said firmly. "Start a recording for me, D."
"Recording." Delta disappeared in the thin air, sorrow hanging onto his last words.
"Hey guys." Church began. "If you're hearing this, it means you did it. You won. You kicked the shit out of Hargrove's forces. I knew you could." Church said, keeping a sad smile in his helmet.
He continued. "But this is my last stop. See, when I came into this world, I was really just a collection of somebody else's memories. But with your help, these memories, they took form. They became my voice, my personality. And after a while, I began to make brand new memories of my own." Church said, the memories flying past him.
"All of these things, are what make me who I am. But they're also holding me back." Church let go of his balled up fists.
"I can't run this suit, as Epsilon. But if I erase my memories, if i deconstruct myself, the fragments I'll leave behind
will have the strength to get you through this." Church said in a strained voice, staring at Tucker.
"I believe that. I wish there was another way. But, I'm leaving this message, as well as others, in the hopes that you'll understand why I have to go this time." He chuckled sadly, remembering Doyle.
"It was, it was actually Doyle who made me realize something I never thought of before. There's so many stories, where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day. And because of their sacrifice," Church paused, his memory slowly tearing apart.
"The good guys win, the survivors all cheer. And everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero, never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if their sacrifice actually made a difference. They'll never know if the day was really saved." The glitchy AI turned and said his last words.
"And in the end, they just have to have faith." Church started to glitch frequently, gazing at his squad proudly.
The light blue fragment broke in thin air, little crystals gracing the spot where he once stood.
"Ain't that a bitch."
===================================
Oh my god I don't think I can manage watching Episode 20 without crying. It just breaks my heart seeing how much Church really cares for them. I hope you guys liked this short remembrance/funeral, and by the way these are all the right words, not a single one misheard.
Thanks for reading 😢
