Nathan raised his gaze at Kate. "Hey, I've not asked you to come and pretend. I've only asked you to come over here and give Tacha a sincere apology. Are you here to do that or not?"

"Of course," Kate said immediately, trying her best to sound really remorseful for her brother to sincerely believe her. Nathan's voice was dead serious, his eyes were hard and Kate understood he wasn't joking at all. She just didn't like Tacha at first when she was working for them. Tacha had done nothing wrong, she was just the bitch and she knew it. She was extremely mean to Tacha and she had done even worse after then. She told their Mum about Nathan and Tacha. About Tacha's mum and sister living in her brother's house. She made everything known to her mum. She thought Tacha was an opportunist, a gold digger trying to seduce her brother for his money. What majority of the women she knew had in mind including her own friends. She just didn't like the fact that her brother was in a relationship with someone they knew and he was still misbehaving. It made her mad and she disliked Tacha for that even more. She hated to see the extent some girls could go just to be with her brother. All for money, lieing and hurting his feelings at the end.

Now she understood better after being suspicious of Lola for many reasons. Lola was a big time bitch stabbing her brother at the back. She had visited the club Lola was expected to be made the punctuality prefect for she was always on time to party hard...with a guy she introduced to her many times as bestie. Bestie? Really!  What a cheater, and a liar she was. Very stingy as well. When Kate told their mum, she was disappointed that their mum wasn't as furious and energetic unlike when she jumped like an angry bear, her eyes like that of an hawk ready to devour Tacha during that time. Kate concluded his brother knew which was why he became interested in Tacha. With all she had done, Kate wondered... How would she ever forgive her? She had really been a bitch and she knew it? She sighed after standing for few seconds without knowing what to say.

"I'm so sorry." Kate said very quietly, hoping they could see how hard she was trying. She played with her fingers, looking down at the table as she continued. "I'm really sorry for all I did. I really don't know how to make you believe me that I feel so sorry for what I had done truly. I was the one who told mum about you because I thought he was playing around when he had someone already.He knows how much I hated men that cheat and even Dad for always..."

"Hmm, hmm..." Nathan cleared his throat. "Shut your mouth."

Kate kept quiet immediately. Slowly she decided to look up, sharing a very quick glance with her brother who looked away from her immediately. He didn't want her talking about their Dad and she understood. They had not come to discuss their Dad. When Kate turned her head to see if Tacha was even listening to her at all, Kate caught Tacha staring at her with a light smile that came with different thoughts on Kate's mind.

Kate didn't want to believe Tacha could say all that to her, or even yell at her. For the little time she had known Tacha, she was calm and was always quiet. Even Tade had assured her she was going to be in good hands.

"It's okay Kate. Do you really think I'm still angry at you?" Tacha said, shutting all the negative thoughts on Kate's mind. Immediately, Kate's smile appeared like a sudden rain that flooded the hearts of the people she was standing with. Tacha was stunned by her smile. It was beautiful. She looked just like her age and happier. She had never really seen Kate smiled so big at her, and sincerely, her smile was irresistible. Just like in the pictures.

Nathan chuckled, looking in between Kate and Tacha. "Don't even let her smile fool you. That's the only nice thing about her so I don't think you want to settle with just that."

Tacha couldn't help the laughter, looking away from Kate.

"Ahhhh!" Kate yelled, hoping Tacha who seemed to have really forgiven her wouldn't have a change of mind.

Tacha got up, standing up to Kate's height as they were both putting on heels. She moved closer to Kate, looking straight into her eyes as she held Kate's hands softly with hers . "Have really forgiven you for a long time Kate. I understand you have your reasons, and I really hope to say nice things about you than your smile." Tacha said, staring at Kate whose smile became huge.

"You see big bro." Kate said with pride, she was excited that Tacha was so understanding and that birthed another big smile from her letting her see Tacha in a new different way. Kate went behind Tacha and rubbed her back gently, getting Nathan and Tacha to laugh at her. Kate went ahead and knelt down behind Tacha's legs hugging it. "I will never be that wicked to anyone again. I'm really so so sorry," she wined.

Tacha couldn't help the chuckle. That was so sweet, and she needed to believe Kate was telling the truth. Before she knew what was going on, Kate stood up and reached into her bag, providing a small black case. "So sis, forget about what my brother said. There are many nice things about me apart from my witch side.Yea, I know I can be very handful at times, but..." She made fun of herself, opening the small black case before Tacha who looked curious with a little smile on her lips.

"Tada! This is eighteen Karat yellow gold diamond earrings." Kate boasted, looking up at Tacha with a big smile. "I picked it up myself for you. Do you want me to wear it for you now. My brother likes all these things a lot you know. You can see his neck right??"

"Hmmm..." Tacha contemplated. She had the habit of never removing her earrings once she put them on. She became indecisive and but burst out laughing when she thought of someone reaching for the earrings so hard that he wouldn't mind cutting off her ears with it inside any public transport. Inside that yellow bus, the worse could happen. Not even while walking on the busy streets of Lagos or Lagos markets, getting hit by different shoulders who wouldn't even tell you sorry. She would definitely get back home before realising her earrings were gone. Many times, her money, including some valuable things she thought were saved in her bag had disappeared without a trace until thorough investigation that made her realise this century hunters now walked about with fine faces or even seen as good Samaritans and their targets are human with things they can steal. She badly wanted to wear them, but she might not remove them and they might follow her to work the coming week. Tacha stretched out her hand. "Thank you Kate. I really appreciate this gift. I will have to rock it on a better dress than this."

Kate chuckled. "Very soon, you won't have to rock it on a better dress when it becomes part of you." She handed the black case over to Tacha. "Can I hug you?"

"Oh!" Tacha couldn't hide her surprise and immediately, she was caught by Kate who hugged her before she could say no, resting her head on her breasts. Kate released her after few seconds, picked up her bag and hurried towards the door. She paused, turning around as she ran back to their table. "This is for you so you wouldn't come home and complain I didn't give a gift too."

Tacha laughed so hard after Kate left. She didn't know the white and black candy with strong menthol flavour could be consider a gift. She really tried for her brother. "She wants you to refresh your breath and she thinks tomtom does it better."

"Very." Nathan nodded with a smile. "I'm worth ten naira tomtom despite all I'm doing for her. Anyways, I'm hungry please. I don't think I will be able to say another full sentence without eating." He gestured with his hands, calling for a waiter. Tacha and Nathan shared a quick glance, which resulted into a huge smile from Tacha.

"I'm actually waiting for how you want to communicate with the waiter."

This time around, the two burst out laughing at the same time.
