Sometimes

You're just a breath and a heartbeat away

I play with your whispers and sighs

And sometimes

Constellations lie between us

Their gyrations birthing aches

That prey on my yearning insides

I feel our souls lying together

The warmth of yours next to mine

While you hold my dreams in your arms

But sometimes

All we have is the cold night between us

Its silence punctuated

By the shudders of my breaking heart

I wish I could reach out and touch you

At will

Through seasons, through reasons

Through the blanket of shining stars

Traversing the no man's land

Where time stands

Still

Between night and blushing daylight

Soaking magic moments of delight

Scattered shreds of our broken laughter

Coming together......at last.
