Epilogue: Those that Fall
Here it is, the epilogue of Frisks tale, ChaosDancer12 and I still have more stories in this multiverse so were slowly tidying loose ends up for the final story
The heat on her face was the only thing telling Frisk that it was sunny, she could hear, almost distantly, Sans softly reading. Of course she knew that he was less then a foot away. But it might as well have been miles.
She was dying.
It didn't hurt...
Her body was just fading, and her vision was mostly gone.
Sans's voice was a comfort in the dark.
She started coughing, she didn't really feel it but she could hear it, in that same distant way.
Cool water slipped down her throat, as Sans carefully tipped the glass to hydrate the child.
What hurt was that they had finally been happy, and while they had no clue of who she had been, before that fall, but, at least, she had her chosen family. Sans as a dad, Pappy as a big brother, and Asgore as a fluffy uncle. On Sundays, they would stop at Grillby's, just for a happy event. Even though Sans had lived underground, forever, he seemed to understand everything, and was always there to help with her homework.
She had been home schooled, but she didn't mind, there was no human schools near enough, for her, and the Monster school was still being built, so she had to wait. Apparently, she had been ahead of her peers, which they had told her during her last social worker visit.
She could live without crazy Toriel, as the mad goat seemed to butt into everyone's lives, and was prohuman, to a disturbing agree.
Still, Frisk didn't want to die.
At least the Doctors were allowing her to stay home, instead of dying, inch by inch, in a hospital environment.
"Dad..." She rasped out, as her body shivered and coughed.
"Yes Babybones?" Sans asked, he stopped reading, and he gently threaded his hands through her hair, in a comforting way.
"Love you"
Then... she finally fell into darkness.
"FRRRIIISK!" Sans cried.
-------
She was falling...
It was endless...
Inky black and cold.
"None of that little one." Hands and arms caught her, pulling her against a bony fabric covered chest. The world seemed to shatter, and Frisk saw the castle of her dreams.
"Sans?" She said, quietly, they felt like Sans.
"Not quite little one."
Frisk looked up, and was confused to see the rather tall skeleton Monster that had been with the boy, before, but she had been hoping for Sans.
"Who are you?" She asked, the dreams had never given her his, or the boy's name, and looking around, she realized that the boy wasn't there.
"My name is G_" And then, he sighed, as he realized that his name was glitched out. "Sorry, I'm a bit broken.. the Void does that."
"Void?" She asked, confused.
"Where you almost ended." The Monster replied. "Your soul tried to hold onto Sans so heavily, as you entered the final phase, you came to me, as this place is closer to death."
"I'm dead?" Frisk asked, with teary eyes, she had been hoping to wake up.
"Death, can be a new adventure, depending on how you view it. But this time, the door has not closed, yet." A soft female voice said, and Frisk tried to turn around to see who it was, but whoever had said it, was hidden behind the Skeleton.
"But.. dead is dead?" Frisk said, confused, after all, it's how the cycle of life went.
"You're very determined, and Magic has accepted you well. Humans are on a time limit, after all, they are visitors." The woman told Frisk. "And they have worn out their welcome a long time ago, as well as destroying any second chances that they had."
"Visitors?"
"Get Asgore to tell you the ancient stories, or those that fell from the skies," The skeleton told her, and she pouted.
How was she to ask, if she was dead?
"Would you still go back, even if you had to give up your Humanity?" The woman asked, and Frisk was silent, for a moment... she had only lived as a human.
"If... I could go back to Dad..." Came her quiet reply.
"That's the spirit, off you go now." Came the cheerful reply from the female voice, and she squeaked as she was thrust into light.
------
"Thank you, I would not been able to pull it off, alone." Gaster said, once the child's Soul had vanished, and the white haired woman smiled, blushing, as she rubbed the back of her neck.
"The innocent should get their wish... After all, they have earned it, especially Frisk." She replied.
------
Frisk woke up with a gasp, and Sans wailed as she woke up, rocking her in his arms.
She would not realize until much later, that the Doctors had just pronounced her dead, or that she had woke up as a Skeleton.
She wouldn't change this ending for the world.
