back with another account / cover theme, this time for darling doha! i actually made this cover theme earlier this week (or towards the end of last week...? in bayports land, aka new jersey, aka definitely not actually new jersey, time bleeds together) but i haven't had the time to sit down and type up my customary essay for this theme. i just got back from seeing wicked: part one and am about to watch moulin rouge! (2001) so i will take this time to write the accompanying star-thoughts for doha's theme.

i followed the same methodology as i did for thena's theme: choosing a few fonts to re-use throughout the theme as well as a colour scheme. i wanted the colour scheme to be different to thena's, so i went for a darker shade of red and more purple, magenta.

          instead of harping on about every single cover here i will instead discuss my favourites: my favourites being DIVINITY SAYS and BRAVE NEW WORLD (the latter still being drafted while i type this!)

DIVINITY SAYS was a little tricky because there's just so many different comic covers of superman, as i'm sure you can expect. it's pretty overwhelming, and i find it's similarly difficult in making batman and spider-man covers because these characters, along with supes, are just so longstanding and popular. but i knew i wanted superman to be flying up, preferably through the title.

this update is taking forever to type because moulin rouge! is overstimulating the fuck out of me LMAO baz luhrmann i will fucking get you. australia is not as small as you think. i will find you and i will make you pay.

i think he lives in the states. anyways. there's not much else to say about DS. that might be the anti-baz luhrmann killing me but 😭 basically i rewatched the superman (2025) teaser trailer thing and thought... yes! look up! so here we are.

BRAVE NEW WORLD is, by my own admittedly shit memory, the first cyclops comic cover i've made. so i really enjoyed making this cover. (come what may was just sung in the movie, so i forgive baz luhrmann) anyways, back to the cover. in the main version of the cover it's very red, purple, blue, but in the alt. colourings that you can see below, i focused more on contrast instead.

i probably shouldn't have tried to write this update while watching a movie, especially one like moulin rouge! LMAO. so i'm going to wrap things up now, sorry everybody.

i also made doha a .png version of the the flash and nexus logo seen in the ONE MORE HOUR comic cover. with the logo, i also made some matching icons and backgrounds for her (as i have also done for thena, and offered to other people i've made cover / account themes for to pull everything together.)

          anyways, sorry for the very un-star-like non-essay today. moulin rouge! is looking up, but that might be because of the come what may and roxanne numbers. godspeed to myself. and my letterboxd.
