[15] Movie Night

Kelsey's POV

I was beginning to drift off to sleep when a loud growl emerged from my stomach causing my eyes to instantly turn towards Stiles. A sense of relief washed over me as I could see he remained fast asleep. I'm glad he's finally getting the rest he deserves, I just hope it'll be enough to get him back on his feet. And for Stiles to fully recover, it's probably best I move back into my room at home, though I will miss the late-night talks and spooning.

It's been good, comforting even. Stiles makes me feel safe and he never fails to make me smile. Going home will be a struggle at first, especially not having Stiles there, but I have to do what's best for him and saying around his house was never permanent, I was always going to end up back at home, granted I thought Isaac and I would be on better terms before that, but I'm okay with just being friends or rather working towards that place.

Carefully removing my hand from his, I unlock my phone to check the time which revealed to be 5:00 pm. Ah, not quite dinner time yet but I definitely need a snack to stop the loud rumbling of my stomach. Reluctantly, I stood up from my chair and walked towards the door, looking back at Stiles before making my exit and quietly closing the door behind. It wasn't long until I eventually found a vending machine, though it became clear I had forgotten my purse when I realised I was wearing Stiles' hoodie.

"Fuck sake." I cursed before annoyingly walking back down the corridor I came from. Trust me to forget something. I came to a halt when I saw Jake a couple of metres away, and he wasn't alone. What is he doing here? And who is the girl he's talking to? Hopefully, they leave soon because I need to go down that way.

Getting impatient, I decided to just go down the corridor anyway. "Hey," I said smiling awkwardly as I approached them. Jake and the mystery girl turned to face me. "Kelsey, I'm surprised to see you here, is everything okay?" Jake asked, while his female friend scanned me from head to toe.

"I'm fine, just looking out for Stiles but he's going to be alright now." It was definitely awkward, and I couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable under the gaze of this girl I've never seen before. Is she from around here? "Right, right. That's good." Jake said distantly before realizing that he hasn't introduced his friend. "This is Lucy, she's my sister."

His sister looks nothing like I expected. "Oh, hi. It's nice to meet you, Lucy." I smiled, glad to finally meet Jake's sister. Where has she been hiding all this time? Maybe she's just always busy and doesn't spend much time outside of work, I get it, it's the same situation for my mom. "You too, Kasey," Jake's sister responded, completely getting name wrong even though Jake not long said it earlier. I suppose it was just a slip of the tongue, it's happened before, though it's annoying as hell.

"Anyway, I have to go run some errands, see you later Jake." She continued before heading off in a hurry. "She seems nice," I mentioned to Jake once Lucy was out of sight. Jake chuckled to himself. "Yeah, she is, though annoying too." I laughed, knowing all too well what it was like.

"So, what are you doing here?" I asked curiously. Shouldn't he be in school right now? Well, unless he has a free period. Though that wouldn't explain why he's here in the hospital at this time. Perhaps he saw me leave and followed me here? "Collecting research on Beacon Hill's community and its history, it's for an essay I'm writing." Oh, or that I guess. It sounds like an interesting essay.

"Cool, do you need any help?" I offer.

"Thanks for the offer but it's fine, I've got my sister helping me. Anyway, I should actually go, my free period is almost up but we'll talk later." Jake winked before slowly walking away. Fair enough, I suppose I do have other things that need much more attention. Once waving Jake off, I returned to room 315 only to find an empty bed...

What. Where in the hell did Stiles go?

Dammit, I knew I should've just waited for him to wake up before getting food. If only I waited a few more minutes. Mentally slapping myself, I turned around and started to search for Stiles down almost every hallway and still couldn't find him. He can't be far, he probably just went off looking for me since I said I would stay with him until he woke up. Taking the next left I opened a door to see none other than Stiles stood still with his back to me. "Stiles? You okay?" I asked. What is he doing in here? "Yeah, fine. What's been going on?" He responded as he turned around and walked towards me, clutching my shoulder before we made our exit out the double doors.

"Well, I was looking for a snack at the vending machine but didn't get one, in the end, I may have forgotten my purse," I explained, whilst we walked down the hallway. "Typical, you're always forgetting things." He laughed, causing me to playfully frown as if he upset me. I think maybe I'll go back to his house and order some takeout but I won't stay over, I'll have to tell him about Isaac returning the key once we both have food in our stomachs.

After quickly grabbing the things we left in room 315, Stiles and I bumped into Scott. My brother told us what had happened when he and Kira went to our home... Dad let himself in because apparently, he has a key now and he was just being his usual asshole self and wouldn't leave, then he went and got himself stabbed by the oni.

After that Derek and the twins got in a tussle with the masked men whilst mom tried to aid daddy dearest, Scott a call from Allison who said the oni meant no harm and they are just trying to find someone who is no longer themselves or rather a nogitsune.

Kira and Scott were the only ones that hadn't been marked last night by the oni, which meant the possibility of one of them not being themselves but thankfully they are all in the clear. Though dad may have a possible collapsed lung and his pulse was weak so that's not great... I mean I don't like the guy but I suppose he didn't deserve that.

Once informing us of everything that happened, Scott went back to mom to check on dad whilst I walked Stiles to his jeep. "Sorry about your dad," Stiles apologised, breaking the silence. "It's fine, I'm not even thinking about that." I shrugged off as I got into the driver's side of the car. The thing is, all I can think about is Stiles. I'm worried about him, and what bothers me is that I hadn't even noticed that hu was struggling to sleep, sure I had a lot on my mind myself but how was I that oblivious?

Stiles might seem somewhat better now that he's caught up on at least a little bit of sleep but I still feel like I should keep an eye on him, perhaps going home tonight would be a bad idea, I could just wait a day or two just to be sure Stiles is alright. Though I don't particularly want to make his situation worse by being with him and possibly preventing him from sleeping. I'm torn.

"What's on your mind?" Stiles asked.

"Oh, food. I'm starving!" And I wasn't lying, I've not eaten anything all day and my stomach is growling even more which is a sign to get me some food as soon as possible... I'm thinking Chinese takeout, and I'm definitely pigging out. "How about we get Chinese takeout and watch a movie or two, it's your pick." He must've read my mind! "Sounds good!" This is turning out to be a good night, now I just have to think of a couple of movies. I was considering watching 13 going on 30 the other night, or maybe drive me crazy. Then again, what's my number sounds good too! It's so hard to choose.

No more than twenty-so minutes later, we pulled up outside Stiles' house. No lights were on which meant Mr Stilinski was working late again. "I'm going upstairs to freshen up and grab a couple of blankets, I won't be long," Stiles announced as he unlocked the door. "Okay, I'll order the food," I shouted up before shutting the door and grabbing the menu from the kitchen cupboard as well as a pen and paper to write down our usual order with some extras.

Sesame prawn toast x2

Honey spare ribs

Roast duck with plum sauce

Sweet and sour chicken balls

Chicken chow mein

Egg fried rice x2

Prawn crackers

Spring rolls

Once I finished listing the food, I rang up the number on the menu and ordered our food, which would take around 20-30 minutes to arrive, or hopefully sooner if it's not busy. Now to set up the movie, which I've decided to go with 13 going on 30 since I know it's on Netflix and it would be quicker to set up. "I've got the blankets, did you order the food?" Stiles asked as he came down the stairs.

"Yes, it's all sorted, just need to get the movie up." I smiled whilst switching on the tv and loading up Netflix. Stiles plopped the blankets on the sofa before fetching some sodas from the fridge. Hopefully, this movie night will make Stiles feel a little better, not that it'll help him sleep but it should put him in a good mood before bed. I just want to give back to him since he's always been there for me.

"So what movie did you decide on?"

"13 going on 30, it's a romance movie but it's a good one, you'll love it." I tried to convince. Stiles only ever watches romantic movies when I pick them and most of the time he actually likes them, so there's a chance he'll like this particular one. Not that he has a choice, he did say it was my pick. Stiles playfully sighed before sitting down next to me.

"Are we waiting for the food to get here first before starting the movie or are we going to watch it now?" He spoke, throwing the blankets over our legs. Hmm, well if we start the movie now, we'll have to pause it and get up to answer the door, and I'd rather not pause it. On the other hand, the sooner we start the movie, the earlier I can go home and let Stiles rest. "I don't mind," I said simply whilst repositioning the pillow behind my back.

Stiles turned to look at me, his lips parted but he was hesitant to anything. Perhaps he has something on his mind? I wouldn't be surprised with everything that's been going on lately. "We'll wait, I feel like you've been wanting to talk about something, or am I wrong?" Stiles brought up.

Am I that easy to read? How does he know me so well? "You're not wrong," I confessed, not knowing where to start as there's a couple of things on my mind but I don't want to unleash everything and make him worry or have another reason to keep him up all night.

"What's up?" Stiles shuffled in his spot, turning in my direction. I suppose I could start with telling him that Isaac gave my spare key back, seems like a thought he'd least be worried about. I was meaning to tell him anyway, guess now is a better time than any. "At school, before I came to see you earlier, Isaac gave me his spare key back, which means I can stay at home again," I said. Even saying it hurts. That key was a symbol of mine and Isaac's relationship, it's officially over. Words didn't have to be spoken to know that, actions were enough.

Stiles was silent and I sensed he was somewhat sad with the news I had just mentioned. "Oh, right. That's good news, I'm assuming?" I'd admit, I'm going to miss staying here with Stiles, it's been nice to have someone to hang out with and not judge me for my choices, whether them being good or bad. He's been there for me, held me close when I have come back crying. He's been amazing. This doesn't mean things will change or come to an end, it just means I won't be here every day and night, Stiles needs his privacy.

"Yeah, I think so. I'll be out of your way, you can finally have your space back and invite girls over." I say causing a puzzled expression to emerge upon Stiles' face. "What girls? Have you ever seen a girl interested in me?" He questioned.

Is he serious? Surely he knows so many girls are interested in him, who wouldn't be. He has so many positive traits and he's attractive, any girl would be lucky to have him. He needs to have more confidence in himself. "Yes! That girl from the party seemed pretty interested in you by the looks of it, and not to mention Heather was."

I wasn't sure if bringing up Heather's name was too painful for him to hear since the pair were close all those years ago, but she did like him, she made it obvious enough. "So two girls? And those kisses didn't mean anything, not really, they were more heat of the moment situations." He explained. They didn't mean anything? Interesting, he seemed keen at the time.

"Wait, didn't you almost have sex with Heather? That would've meant something, surely?" I bring up as the memories of Heather's party flashed in my mind. I wonder if Heather hadn't died that night if she and Stiles would be in a relationship. I guess they would be a cute couple, I mean I didn't know Heather that well but she would've been lucky to have Stiles.

"Yeah, I did but I stopped myself, I wasn't interested in her that way so I didn't see the point." Fair enough, that's a good enough reason not to have sex with someone, he should be ready when it suits him and with someone he loves. I know we've always tried to see who would lose their virginity but now I wish I had waited. Maybe I would've had a better relationship if I had taken things slower, but I can't regret the things that have happened since they shaped me into the person I am today.

Shuffling to find the tv remote, I was about to ask Stiles if we should start watching the movie but he interrupted me before I could get the chance. "What's going on with you and Jake? Are you just having fun or is it something serious? Because you haven't spoken much about it."

Ah, I had a feeling Jake would be brought up soon with what was said earlier on the way to the hospital. Jake and I flirt and I suppose you could say we mess around a little but it's nothing more than that, though I have a feeling Jake is more invested in whatever this is between us. "Well, there's not much to say. I mean he's a nice guy and he's attractive but there's no chemistry as such." I'll admit, I do feel something when I'm with Jake but I think he just makes me nervous, I never know what to expect with him.

"So, you wouldn't date him then?" Stiles asked curiously, causing me to chuckle in response. "I'm not even thinking about dating, and if I was, it wouldn't be with Jake." I couldn't see myself being in a serious relationship with Jake, he doesn't seem like the type to settle down. "So who would you—" Stiles started to say but got cut off when the doorbell rang.

YES! THE FOOD IS HERE! Shooting up from the sofa, I ran towards the front door and opened it up to see the delivery man. "Hey, order for Kelsey McCall." The man spoke to which I answered with; "That's me." before he handed over the deliciously smelling bags. "Thank you so much." I smiled, giving the delivery guy his correct amount of money as well as a tip for arriving quicker than expected.

"I'll get the plates and tissues," Stiles said once I closed the door. I can't wait to dig into this food, it smells so god damn gooooood! It's been a while since I've had Chinese takeout. "Right, let's eat and watch this movie." I sang whilst returning to my spot on the sofa and Stiles joining me.

Stiles opened up the containers, serving up the egg fried rice onto our plates as well as a little of everything else until our plate was full. It wasn't long before all the food on our plates was in our stomachs, and shortly after so was the rest of the Chinese. I felt like Noo Noo from Teletubbies since all I was doing is inhaling the food. At least we have a little leftover, if I had eaten anymore I would be too stuffed to move.

It seemed like Stiles is enjoying so far, despite it being a romance movie. He doesn't admit it but he actually loves romantic movies, he's a softy but I love that about him. "This is nice, I like it when we do this," Stiles commented as I shuffled a little closer to him.

I smiled, feeling flutters in my stomach and my cheeks blush. "Me too, it's probably the only time I'm genuinely happy," I added honestly. It really is, I don't remember a time where I feel this relaxed and safe as well as happy all together. Stiles cures me of all the negativity.

"You are so sweet, come here." Stiles smiled back, holding out his arms, gesturing to me to go in for a hug, which I didn't hesitate to. I nuzzled as close as I could and embraced my best friend with a smile still upon my face. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now.

Hi everyone, I haven't been active for a long time as I have been really busy with my apprenticeship coursework and assessments but I passed with a distinction so I couldn't be happier. I can now focus more on my writing which I am excited to get back into.

You may have noticed that there has been an introduction of a new character; Lucy Addams, Jake's older sister. She may have been mentioned before but I am thinking of adding her in as a recurring character. I have put a face-claim to the character which is; Meghan Ory. I picked her because I haven't really seen her face been used as much and I loved her in Once Upon a Time.

Also, I would like to give a shout out to @daddyisaaclahey please go follow them and check out her new book: https://www.wattpad.com/story/242221433-maniac-kol-mikaelson
