[11] Suspicions
Stiles POV
It's been a few hours or so since I woke up with Kelsey beside me. Her face so close to mine that I could feel her hot breath linger on my skin. I let out a smile as I watched the girl I love lay peacefully asleep in my bed. She looked so still, and so beautiful that I couldn't bring myself to wake her up when I did. I only wish every morning was like this. Unfortunately, we can't always get what we want. It's time I get up to shower and get dressed anyway, preferably before Kelsey wakes up herself.
Subtly sliding out of my bed without trying to disturb Kelsey, I made my way into the bathroom, turning on the shower to warm up a bit while I pulled down my boxer shorts. Then once inside, I quickly washed my hair and all over my body. I didn't get much sleep last night again, not that Kelsey had anything to do with it — in fact, I probably get more sleep when she's with me, not that it can happen all the time, I know it's only because she wanted my comfort, which I'm not complaining about either.
I really hope she's alright, stupid question really since she's been crying a lot lately. Though most of the times she's cried is either over Isaac or because of Allison, so Jake being the cause is a new reason. She seemed fine on their so-called friend dinner date, Jake is obviously after more than just friends with her.
Something must've happened after they left the restaurant. I did want to maybe follow them once they left but Scott said Kelsey would sense us and that he couldn't be bothered as he was tired. God, I sound like such a stalker, which I suppose is half true, but I'm just looking out for her. When it comes down to people, Kelsey sort of has a tendency for putting her trust in the wrong people and she ends up getting hurt in the process. I just hope I'm wrong about Jake, though my gut keeps telling me otherwise, and I've never been wrong, something is suspicious about him.
For one, he clearly can't keep track of time since he brought Kelsey back late, we missed our movie night. I have to have words with Jake, see what he has to say. Something he did made Kelsey ball her eyes out. I wanted to know what happened as soon as I saw the tears run down her face, what he did to make her cry, but I know Kelsey won't tell me in that moment.
I suppose I'll have to go to Jake myself, question him about last night's action with Kelsey. I swear if he touched her in anyway, I'll punch him right in that smug face of his. Finishing up in the shower, I was about to grab my towel from the side when I realized I had left it on the back of my bedroom door. Ah, well that's just awesome, I have no clothes in here either.
Well that's just freaking great.
Scurrying around looking for something to cover myself with, my only resort was a flimsy face towel, which was not helpful at all. I suppose I have no choice but to go back into my bedroom. Quietly opening the door, I popped my head out slightly to double check if Kelsey was still asleep — and just my luck, she was. Okay, so the towel is only across the room, if I grab that then I can cover myself and grab some clothes before Kelsey wakes up. Pushing the door open wider, I made a run for it. This however, was not a good idea at all.
I didn't make it half way across the room when my legs went flying up into the air, and my ass landing flat onto the hard-wooden floor which made a loud thud. "Fuck." I shouted through my teeth, trying to hold back the pain and be quiet — but there was no point, Kelsey had already woken up from the sound of my ass hitting the floor. I froze for a second, not knowing what to do or where to go. Shit, what am I going to do?
I'm freaking naked, and wet, and naked — oh god.
I'm naked.
I scanned the room for a nearby place where I could hide my shame, but nothing. "Stiles, what on Earth are you doing?" Kelsey groaned. "Nothing uh, j-just cleaning the floor, go back to sleep." I panicked. Maybe if I pulled the sheets off of my bed, then I could somehow wrap myself up — but then Kelsey will want it back to cover herself, and then she'll see me.
I could just crawl back into the bathroom and ask for a towel, though I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it without Kelsey seeing me. And just as I thought, Kelsey was beginning to make her way off the bed. I could hear her stretch and yawn. Oh god. Please don't look.
It's too late.
Shit.
She's going to see me. I should've come up with a better excuse than cleaning the damn floor, what an idiot. "What? It's like seven in the morning, why are you— oh god. Stiles! Naked!" Kelsey was lost with words and quite surprised to see me like this, she swiftly turned around to try avoid any more of my nakedness, though I'm pretty sure I was already exposed to her eyes. And to make matters even more awkward and worse than they already were, Kelsey also slipped over from the water droplets on the floor, landing on the spot right next to me.
Yup, this will definitely be one of those memories that will haunt us forever. "Are you alright? I'm really sorry about this, I forgot my towel in here, and I only noticed after I had a shower." I confessed, moving my hands between my legs to try hide everything. "I—I'm fine, just trying to look anywhere else." Kelsey smiled awkwardly as she looked at me before brushing out with laughter.
Why is she laughing?
This isn't supposed to be funny, it's embarrassing, especially in front of Kelsey. She'll never look at me the same way again, and to think I was actually hoping we'd slowly become more than friends one day, that will definitely never happen now, now that she's probably scarred for life. It's confirmed, I'll always be stuck on the friend level.
Friend zoned for life — I guess it's better than nothing, I've lasted this long anyway. I'm surprised she hasn't noticed or sensed it, especially since becoming a werewolf. Scott knew long before his werewolf abilities, and I thought I was being subtle about it. Why is Kelsey laughing? It's making me feel unsettled. This is not a funny matter, I'm embarrassed.
"Why are you laughing?" I asked confused.
Is she laughing and what she saw? And not that I'm bragging or anything, but I'm not small, so it wouldn't make sense if she was laughing at that situation. "I'm sorry, I don't know, it's just you forgot your towel and you slipped over. You're so clumsy." She laughed again, which I returned with a smile followed by an eye roll. Why does she find it so funny when I fall over? It's like the other day when I feel in poo whilst looking for Malia in her coyote form.
I suppose it's better that she's laughing rather than screaming at me with horror, right? I don't know what I'd do if that happened. "Thanks, you're hilarious, now please could you get me the towel that's hanging up over there," I asked nicely, pointing in the direction of the door, and then remembering I had my hands between my legs for a reason.
"Stiles, hands!" Kelsey screamed and laughed at the same time as she received my towel. "I'm sorry, stop looking!" My voice squeaked. "Stop moving your hands then!" Kelsey raised her voice as she threw the towel in my direction, almost hitting me in the face. This towel better not decide to fall down on me. I can face any more embarrassment today, not in front of Kelsey, she's seen quite enough of my body today.
"Why were you looking where my hands were?!"
"Oh my god, just put the bloody towel around you!" Kelsey said, covering her face with her hands, but the gaps between her fingers made me feel uncomfortable as I wanted to wrap the towel around me, and I couldn't do that because the towel is on the floor and I can't move unless she turns around. And I know she finds it hard to keep her eyes closed when she covers her face.
"Well turn around then, I don't want you looking any more than you already have." I raised, laughing at the same time. God this was so embarrassing. What if Scott or my dad were to burst through the door at this moment? I only have a towel covering me, and Kelsey is just in her underwear. This would look so wrong in their eyes, they'd jump to conclusions and assume what hasn't happened.
Wait, would I tell Scott about this?
Does he need to know?
I mean, I don't think he has to know, it's not like I have the need to tell him everything, not really. Well, I suppose if Scott were to somehow sense that something has happened or he can smell the awkwardness on Kelsey and me, then maybe I'll consider telling him and explain myself, otherwise I'm not breathing a word of this. And it's not like anything happened apart from clumsiness and some accidental nudity. "I wasn't looking, okay? Are you decent now?" Kelsey asked me. "Yes, you can turn around." I let her know before grabbing a pile of clothes from the side and taking them into the bathroom to get dressed for school.
***
The drive to school wasn't as awkward as I thought it would be, which is surprising, I thought Kelsey wouldn't even want to be in the same car as me, then again I suppose she had no other way of getting to school since her motorbike is at her house. But we didn't go all silent on each other which is a good sign, we basically laughed it off, and then I told Kelsey about the prank Scott and I set up for Coach last night before she got back.
Kelsey felt a little guilty that she wasn't there to join in on the fun, but I said she could choose the prank for Coach next year. We went our separate ways when we arrived as I had to double-check the prank was all good to go – and it is. Walking back outside, I was making my way towards Kelsey and Scott when I noticed Jake; lingering nearby, watching her as he spoke on to someone on the phone again. What is he up to? He must be planning something. And why is he always on that phone of his? I need to know why he made Kelsey cry last night.
I swear if he hurt her in any way or form – because if he has then he'll be sorry he ever laid eyes on her. I'll grab my bat and go all Negan on him of I have to. "Why are you staring at Jake Addams?" A familiar voice spoke, causing me to almost jump out of my skin. "Ah Jesus, Danny, you scared me." I paused for a second, catching my breath. "And I'm not staring, I'm just trying to figure out what he's up to."
"He's on the phone to someone, probably talking to some guy more attractive than me." Danny sighed. What's up with him? Does Danny find Jake attractive? Well, that just perfect. What about me? Am I not attractive to gay guys? Danny never answered me when I asked him last. But anyway, getting off-topic. "What do you know about him?" I asked curiously, my eyes still focused on Jake. I wonder if he's talking to the same person he was last time? He's probably plotting something.
Maybe I should ask my dad to run a background check on him, find out if he's been arrested or something. Or I'll just do a little research of my own, I could start by taking his phone maybe, see what secrets he's keeping on there and from us, especially Kelsey. There has to be something on him, my suspicions have to be right, there's no way he's squeaky clean.
"Honestly? Not much, he doesn't really talk about himself. He's been clubbing with me a few times and I know he has a thing for Kelsey, but that's all. Why?" He goes clubbing with Danny, interesting. I bet he's probably trying to get to Danny to get through to Kelsey, or maybe he likes Danny too. I wonder if Jake has spoken to Danny about Kelsey?
"Just wondering," I said, my head stuck in my thoughts.
"I get the feeling you don't like him very much, is it because of what happened last night at Greenberg's party?" Wait, what? Greenberg had a party? I didn't know about that, he never mentioned it to me and I didn't hear anyone speak about it coming up to the party either. What happened at his party? "I wasn't there, what happened?" I asked, turning my attention onto Danny as he leant against the wall.
"Oh, a lot happened. Long story short; Jake came to the party with Kelsey, Allison was drunk and said some things to Kelsey, Isaac came and then Kelsey said things which she brought Jake into, they made out and then Isaac stormed off with Allison following behind. I only saw half of it but it seemed pretty intense." They made out? Kelsey and Jake made out.
Did Jake force himself onto her?
No wonder why Kelsey was so upset. And in front of Isaac and Allison as well, that's not good. I mean, I know they haven't exactly been hiding their affections for each other, but wow, why would he do that? He better keep his distance from Kelsey, I'll make sure of it.
"Thanks for telling me."
"No problem." Danny smiled, patting my shoulder as he strolled off into the distance. Once Danny was out of sight, I turn back around to focus my attention, Jake, again, but he was already gone. Letting out a deep sigh, I continued making my way towards my best friends, only now the evil twins were beside them. Oh great, what the hell do they want?
"You're back in school?" I heard Scott question them.
"No, just to talk," Ethan spoke.
Yeah right, as if that's their only reason for being here. "Oh. That's kind of a change of pace for you guys. Usually, you're just hurting, maiming, and killing." I interrupted as I stood opposite the twins and next to Scott. Why are they attempting to bother with Scott? They already know we don't like them, and why would we after everything they've done. Not to mention they broke my baseball bat when they were merged together.
Aiden opened his mouth to speak, trying to convince us, even though it won't work. "You need a pack. We need an Alpha." Well, they're not joining our pack, no way in hell. They may end up giving Scott that extra power if he let them join our pack, but no, it's not happening and they should let that sink in their thick heads.
"Yeah. Absolutely not. That's hilarious though." I interjected.
"You came to us for help. We helped." Aiden mentioned as he looked at Kelsey for some reason, he probably thinks of he can convince Kelsey then he can get to Scott. "You beat my brothers face into a bloody pulp. That's not helping." She told him, and she's right. "Exactly, and in my opinion, that's actually counter-productive."
"Why would I say yes?" Scott asked the twins.
"We'd add strength. We'd make you more powerful. There's no reason to say no." I rolled my eyes. Really? There are so many reasons to say no to them. And are strength and power all they care about? That's not what a pack is all about, especially our pack. There's trust which is a major trait needed, respect, being selfless and willing to do just about anything for not just our pack, but for everything single person in this town. Not that they would understand that, they only care for themselves.
Isaac appeared from out of nowhere, standing beside Kelsey before speaking up. "I can think of one. Like the two of you holding Derek's claws while Kali impaled Boyd. In fact, I don't know why we're not impaling them right now." And with that, Aiden showed off his blue eyes and fangs.
"You want to try?" He growled.
Isaac was about to step forward and challenge Aiden but Kelsey grabbed ahold of his arm and pulled him back before he could do anything stupid. The two shared a look before she let go of his arm. I wonder if they'll sort things out between them? Maybe not get back together, that ship has sailed, but become civil maybe. I know Scott told Isaac to give Kelsey space but you never know with Isaac.
"Sorry, but they don't trust you. And neither do I." Scott said before walking away from the evil twins, Kelsey and I following behind. I looked over at Kelsey, I could tell her mind was somewhere else. Maybe she's thinking of punching Jake Addams' stupid face, oh wait, that's what I'm thinking. "Hey ow, that's my face!" I shouted to some idiot after I just tried to dodge toilet roll flying at my face. Kelsey let out a sniggered from behind but I ignored it, knowing it cheered her up even for just a second.
"Hey, dude, good decision, buddy. Good Alpha decision." I smiled as we strolled towards my locker. "I hope so." Scotty said, unsure of himself. "No, you know so." I corrected him whilst opening my locker, I took some eggs out of my bag to put them inside, saving them for later. Kelsey gave me a weird glance before following where Scott's eyes were focused on.
Rather a who than a what, Kira Yukimura to be exact. The new girl that has Scott charmed. "What are you looking at?" She asked her brother, fully aware that he was staring at Kira. "Me?" Oh Scotty, just admit that you're sweet on her already. "Yes, you. Are you looking at her?" Kelsey smirked at her brother. "Her? Who her?" Really Scott, why are you playing dumb? He doesn't need to hide it from us.
"Her, her. Kira." I said.
It's obvious he likes her, he's so shy about it though, not sure why. Well, I suppose I'm not one to talk, I can't even bring myself to tell Kelsey the truth and it's been years. "Do you like her?" Kelsey asked her brother rhetorically. "No. I mean yeah, yeah, she's okay. She's new." He went on, still looking at Kira show as by her locker.
"So, ask her out." Kelsey urged.
"Now?" Why is he hesitating? Seriously, he could get any girl he wants now that he's the captain of the lacrosse team and not to mention a true alpha. "Yes, now." Kelsey rolled her eyes in annoyance, Scott wasn't getting what she was trying to get at. "Right now?" Scott questioned again as I closed my locker. I suppose I should say something, maybe he'll understand me.
"Yes, right now. Scott, I don't think you get it yet. You're an Alpha. You're the apex predator. Everyone wants you. You're like the hot girl that every guy wants." Kelsey gave me a confused look before averting her eyes to behind me. "I'm the hot girl?" Scott said more to himself. "You are the hottest girl." I looked into Scott's eyes, trying to be more convincing so he'd ask Kira out, and with that I left Scott and a confused Isaac to talk amongst themselves before the bell goes off.
Kelsey walked beside me, I watched as she smiled to herself before she opened her mouth. "He really deserves to be happy again, you know? I just hope she likes him back." She told me before stepping into our economics class. "Yeah, I hope so too." I said more to myself, thinking of Kelsey if I ever confessed my feelings to her. Would she love me back?

Hey everyone!! What are Your thoughts on this chapter? Did you like naked Stiles? I think there should be more of that, agreed?
Stiles is obviously keeping a close eye on Jake Addams, do you think he should? Is it just jealousy clouding his judgment, or does Jake have another agenda? What do you guys think of Jake? Do you like him?
And Stiles feelings for Kelsey seem to be showing more to just about everyone but Kelsey herself. Do you think she will ever find out? Will Stiles be the one to tell Kelsey that he's in love with her? How much longer do you think Stiles will be able to hold it in before he busts?
