[07] Animagus

Kelsey's POV

Once my brother completely healed up from the failed attempt by the twins to make him shift into his werewolf form, Scott texted everyone to meet him at the Beacon Hills Reserve so we can track down Malia, and hopefully when we do that, Scott will turn her back into a human before Malia's dad shoots her.

Well, that's the plan we're hoping will work.

There's still a chance that Scott won't be able to turn her back, or that Scott won't be able to control himself if he shifts into a werewolf, which isn't so optimistic. But it's what the twins said that's got me all anxious, about Scott becoming everything he's afraid of to roar like an alpha. He's afraid of becoming a monster, and I'm scared that if he gives in, he won't be able to stop himself.

Maybe I'm just overthinking the whole thing. I know Scott's strong, he's a True Alpha, but since he's having hallucinations just like Stiles and Allison, something bad could happen, and he could get into a lot of trouble. I just really hope this all plays out well. "You okay?" Stiles asked beside me, bringing me out of my thoughts.

I turned to my left. "Yeah, just thinking about the plan."

"You're worried about Scott, aren't you?"

"Just a little." I replied. We came to a stop when we reached the meet-up point of the Reserve. "Hey, he'll be fine, trust me." Stiles smiled, lightly patting my leg, before I shifted my body around to face Lydia and out her earphones, letting her know we're here.

Just as I was about to get out of the jeep, Scott arrived on his motorbike, and then shortly after, Allison pulled up. I watched Allison as she climbed out of her car, looking all innocent like. Pfft, innocent my ass, she might've been when we first met her, but now she's just a bitch that doesn't give a shit about other people's feelings but her own.

I can't stand her, there's literally no escape from her. My friends are her friends, she sits at the same lunch table, she's in some of my classes, and she probably still wants my boyfriend. Allison lightly smiled at me as she got closer, which is when I noticed Isaac closing the passenger side door of Allison's car. Okay, why did he just get out of her car?

Was he with her before they came here?

Is that why he left the house early all in a rush the other day, did he leave to be with her? To be with Allison. Is that what's going on here, do they have some sort of fling going on? Another affair? Did they even end it when I found out they kissed last time? Oh I bet Allison's loving this, messing with my head and getting Isaac in her bed. She probably made some sort of excuse for Isaac to go over her house so she could see him, or maybe he went at his on free will.

Maybe Isaac lied to me when he said he didn't have any feelings for Allison. Maybe he's liked her all along, and I'm just his play thing. Is that why we haven't been as close lately? I know I haven't exactly been all lovey dovey myself, but that doesn't mean I drove Isaac towards Allison, does it?

He said he loves me, but I'm not feeling any love from him, I haven't for awhile, and I'm thinking, maybe that love is going towards Allison. Call my crazy but that's the vibe I'm getting. I know Allison is sexually attracted to Isaac, I can smell it on her, so obviously Isaac can smell it too.

Though of course, naturally Isaac is thrilled having her attracted to him, why wouldn't he be? After all, she is little miss perfect, she has zero flaws, and her smile lights up the world. Hell, she's even the fricken go-to girl when it comes down to the supernatural, she's always there. Always.

Oh, but no need to worry, she's harmless. She has everyone under her damn spell as well as wrapped around her finger. And it's frustrating for me because no one else can see how much of a manipulative bitch she is, and do you know why? It's because she's just Allison Argent, a sweet, beautiful girl that everybody has come to love.

Oh, how ignorant people are. If I were to say anything bad about Saint Allison, huh, well I'd be in the wrong, no doubt about that. You know what, I wish I could just rip that smug look off her face. Better yet, I'll just claw her to death. I don't care anymore. I twitched a little when I felt a hand grab my arm, shaking it lightly. Confused, I looked at the culprit and mouthed "what", before Stiles narrowed his eyes down for me to look at something.

Almost immediately, I looked down to see my hands had formed into fists, but then the more I looked, the more I noticed I was bleeding. Allison must've got me so angry and rattled up, that my claws came out. She's lucky it's me that's bleeding and not her. Calming myself down, with the encouragement of young Stilinski, I ignored Allison, desperately trying to pretend she wasn't standing across from me, next to Isaac.

And trust me, I'm not so good at pretending when it comes down to Allison. There was a brief moment of silence before Lydia opened her mouth. "Anyone else think we might be doing more harm than good?" She asked. "We're trying to keep a father from killing his own daughter." Let's hope we get to Malia before Mr Tate does, because if he shoots her, he'll have no one left.

"Actually, we're trying to keep a guy from killing a coyote who is actually his daughter, who we don't know how to change from a coyote back to his daughter." Wow, really Isaac, could you be anymore helpful? Stiles rolled his eyes. "And again with the not helping."

"Did you bring it?" Scott turned to ask Allison, completely ignoring Isaac's comment. Allison nodded, opening her trunk to pull out some kind of rifle, which will be used to tranquilize Malia. Well, that's if Allison even takes the shot at her, seeing as her aim is all over the place, kinda like the way she is with Isaac. All of the sudden, a very loud and sharp popping sound echoed around the woods, almost making me jump out of my skin.

That is defiantly not a good sign, Tate must already be out looking for Malia himself. Immediately jumping back onto his bike, Scott took off to find Tate's daughter, Isaac running after him with Allison following behind.

"Wait, wait. Wait! Wait!" Stiles shouted, but none of them stopped.

Great, just freaking great. What the hell are we supposed to do? Twiddle our thumbs? We're supposed to stick together and figure this out, not split up. Malia could be anywhere in these woods just wandering, well, tip-toeing around. I wonder what she'd be like when she's back as a human.

Maybe we could be friends, well, that's if she doesn't hate us after we turn her back from a coyote into human. I mean she's been a coyote for eight years, living in the woods, surviving on squirrels and rabbits, whatever it is that coyotes eat. She's never had any human contact since she killed her mom and younger sister. There's no knowing what to expect. But, being me, I like to look for the good in people.

She didn't mean to kill her mom and sister, it was the full moon. Accidents happen, and you can't help but get past it. Malia needs to know that we're on her side, that we don't blame her for what happened, after all, she was only nine years old. "It took the doll again? What the hell is so important about this doll?" I heard Stiles say, as he spoke to his dad on the phone.

"I don't know, but listen to me. There are traps all over those woods. Near the trails. Probably near the car crash. And Tate is out there with a rifle. I want you to stay out of those woods. You got that? Stiles?"

Tate put traps out, are you kidding me? What if someone stepped in one of them? That would completely crush every bone in your foot and lower leg, which if you're not supernatural, could mean you'd have to get it amputate if it's not repairable. I watch Stiles as he held the phone to his ear. "It's the doll." He spoke, looking like his brain was trying to tell him something.

"Stiles?" Sheriff Stilinski called before Stiles hung up on him.

Stiles squinted his eyes. "It's the doll?" Great, that evil doll again. Why can't Malia just rip the damn thing to shreds and be done with it, it's ugly anyway. Why would someone give their child a doll? You're meant to get a fluffy unicorn or cuddly bear, not a plastic demon doll. Like have they not seen Chucky, or any other horror movies? Dolls are evil, all of them, even the pretty princess China dolls that look harmless.

Hearing another gunshot in the distance worried me a little more. Just thinking of Mr Tate killing his own daughter, and he doesn't even know it's her. What if he accidentally shot my brother, or Isaac. Well, they'd heal, but that's not the point, he could aim at their heads or at their hearts. Stiles bent down, trying to figure out why the ugly demon doll is so important to Malia Tate. "Alright, but why would it go all the way to the school and then all the way back to the house just for a doll? One that was in the car wreck in the first place. We didn't find it in the coyote den."

"It likes the doll. Who cares?" Lydia said as she paced up and down. Well I for one don't care about that doll. In fact, I just want to burn it's creepy face out of my mind, I don't want to end up having nightmares for two weeks again because of a doll. "It likes the doll a lot."

"What kind of doll is it?" Lydia asked curiously.

"One that goes round murdering people for fun." I uttered.

"I don't know. It's a doll, you know. It's got little arms, a big baby head and dead, soulless eyes." Huh, that's exactly how I would describe it. "Actually, I took a pic. Here." Stiles stood up, opening his phone to the photo he took when we snuck in Tate's house. "That's Malia?" Lydia asked, pointing to nine year old Malia wearing the blue jacket and scarf we found in Malia's coyote den.

"Yeah, that's the jacket and the scarf we found in the den." Stiles said, taking the words right out of my mouth. Wait a second, Malia isn't the one holding the creepy doll, her sister is. The doll isn't Malia's. "Stiles, she's not holding the doll." I mentioned. "That's Malia's younger sister. It's her doll." He spoke, looking and Lydia and I.

Oh my god, I get it. All this time I thought maybe the doll was just a stupid evil doll, but it's not to Malia. The doll is the only thing she has left of her sister. "I know what she's doing." We found the doll at the car wreck and Stiles took it, the Malia came to the school to get back the doll, and then she took it again from Tate's house.

The doll, in some creepy way, is resembling flowers and the car wreck is the gave...and Stiles stole doll, which is why Malia keeps coming back to get it. "What?" Lydia asked bewildered. She's obviously not catching on.

"I know where she's going." Stiles commented.

"Yeah, and so do I." Malia's going to put the doll back at the car wreck. I need to tell Scott, or at least get to the car wreck and wait for him to get there. Taking my phone from my pocket, I opened up my contacts to Scott, but he didn't answer. Right, I guess I'll just have to go look for him.

"He's not answering." I sighed.

Dammit Scotty. Well, calling him again won't do any good, I don't know why he bothers having a phone if he barely picks up. I guess I'll need to get out there and look for him instead. "I'm just gonna go find him instead, you two stay here and call Scott again, I won't be long." I added. If Malia's heading back to the car wreck, then Scott must be around there somewhere, I'll just have to follow both of their scents.

"Kelsey, watch out for Tate." Stiles warned as I put my phone away.

"I will." I smiled before running further into the woods, following Malia's scent. I wonder what it's like, to able able to transform into an actual full-bodied animal. Having claws, fangs, superhuman strength, and cheek fur is pretty cool, but walking on four legs and having a tail, as well as a fur all over, that's kind of awesome, and probably cozy too, which would be good for the winter.

Actually, now thinking about it, I should really buy myself a new coat, the one I borrowed for Stiles sort of stank in the wash. Maybe I'll just let mom do all the washing in the future.

Anyway, back to shifting into an animal; It's kind of like in Harry Potter when some witches or wizards are able to turn into an Animagus. Though, they are able to do that at their own free will, are way is probably a lot more complicated than that. And that's even if we're able to do that, I suppose you'd have to be able to stay in control, but would you even shift into an actual wolf? Would it hurt?

Not that it really matters to me, I'm quite happy with my normal human, well, werewolf form as it is. I'm not about to get on all fours and scurry about the woods, scavenging for food. I do that enough at home when Scott takes everything from the fridge. Where does he even put it all?

Walking through, I saw Isaac and Allison a few metres ahead. I opened my mouth to call out, but instead the words that came out of Allison's mouth halted me. "Isaac we should talk about this morning." She sighs, stopping in her tracks. Isaac who was ahead exhaled before turning to face her.

"It was nothing, really. Lets not talk about it here, okay?" Isaac scoped the woods, I quickly hid behind the tree, keeping my breathing steady so I wouldn't be detected. What are they talking about? "I felt terrible when we did what we did behind Kelsey's back, I don't want to feel that way again Isaac." Allison's voice was hoarse, the sound of her gulping was audible over the noise of gun fire.

"I know." Isaac runs a hand through his hair and down his face. Watching Allison intently, his gaze on her was soft. My hands balled into fists as I peered over and watched. I knew something was going on between them. I wasn't crazy. Do they think I'm that stupid to not find out what's going on?

"You don't know," Allison fires back, frustrated. "Isaac, she's my best friend, well was. She hates me now. I did that, we did that. We can't do it again, we shouldn't..." Allison sniffles, sounding baffled as she trailed off. A pained look crossed his features as he watched Allison pull herself together. If she didn't want to hurt me in the first place, why did she do it?

"I promised myself I wouldn't anymore, but this morning..." She trailed off again, Isaac looked aside as his jaw clenched. Oh, so I suppose that's where he was the other morning as well, at Allison's. You know, I'm really starting to feel the urge to kill her, and that's just the wolf inside talking.

What was the point of Allison going after Isaac when she knew very well that he was in a relationship with me? And not only did she kiss him, but she insisted on going further, which at the time Isaac didn't go ahead with, but now hearing this, I'm not so sure.

I bet she's enjoying this, going behind my back, doing things with my boyfriend. She probably doesn't even care what it's doing to me. And now she's worried about hurting me? Oh come on Allison, it's a little too late for that. Clearly she doesn't have any self-control.

Sure, she keeps saying she shouldn't do it or whatever, but even that's not stopping her. You'd think with her being my best friend beforehand, she wouldn't go there, but I guess she really wasn't my friend at all. All those times together laughing and talking about nonsense, she was playing me. I have to say, she had me right from the beginning, what a great performance.

How could I be so blind not to see what she was up to? I've been saying everyone else is ignorant, but so was I. I mean, how could I think everything could go back to normal after everything we've been through.

A look of lust spread across his features as he moved his intense gaze back on Allison. "I missed you so much Isaac, I want you so bad." My fists tightened when I saw Isaac close the gap between them, while my heart contracted in pain.

I should have saw this coming, I really should have. I should have accepted the fact that there was no more room in his heart for me anymore. Feeling numb to the core, I kicked off from the tree I was stood behind and began walking away from the two in a hurry. I needed to get away, I really can't do this anymore.

Why did I have to be right about my suspicions? Doesn't Isaac feel guilty about his doing to me? Does he even care what he's put me through? That whole sob speech about want wing me back, wanting to have a fresh start, what was the point.

It was all lies.

Our relationship was one big fat lie. I can't believe I ever forgave them, gave them a second chance. Once I was finally away from them, I found myself stumbling over the roots of a large tree before falling to my knees.

The numb feeling still strong. I was distracted, so distracted I didn't see Malia coming for me until it was too late. She managed to slash me against the cheek and get a good bite on my shoulder, bringing me back to reality where I let out the loudest scream. One that would rival Lydia's one day.

"Kelsey!" Scott yelled from somewhere, but I was too busy clutching my shoulder in shock to pinpoint where. The true Alpha jumped over the car, landing a few feet in front of me when he released the mightiest howl I've ever heard. My whole body reacted to the howl of the Alpha, my brother.

His howl echoed across the forest, causing a buzz among our surroundings. My eyes landed on my brother, adoration and respect was all I felt as I watched him. He really is amazing. "Malia." He says shifting back to human, glancing over I noticed the coyote was now human. A very naked human. Scott, being the gentleman that he is, removed his jacket and handed it to her. At first Malia hesitated as she was probably overwhelmed, but then she took it from him.

Just then, everyone seemed to find us, first Stiles and Lydia, then soon Isaac and Allison. "Kelsey, I heard you scream? Are you okay?" Isaac rushed over frantically. I frowned, averting my eyes and shuffling away from him. Scott, Stiles and Lydia were talking about taking Malia to the station, but I wasn't listening, my heart was too busy breaking all over again.

He furrowed his brows at me, confused by my actions. I glanced behind him to see Allison wearing a scowl but soon covering her true expression up with her usual composed mask.

Swallowing, I got up and left without a word.

Hello everybody, I apologize for my absence during the Christmas holidays, originally I was going to publish this on Christmas Eve, but I had to edit and change the chapter a few times. And then I started re-reading the Harry Potter books, so there's that too.

Anyways, I do hope you all enjoyed reading this chapter, and I would like to thank -txrgaryen for her contribution, you're awesome!!

What are your thoughts on this chapter? Pool Kelsey, it seems like once again, she is left brokenhearted. Isaac should know better than to get involved with Allison again after everything that has happened before.

And on other notes, how was everyone's Christmas and New Year? Did you have a good time? What did you get up to? Did you get all the presents you hoped for? My Christmas was pretty chilled, and I spend New Years watching horror films and drinking alcohol with my best friend Jess.

Also, this isn't at all related (aside from the title, kinda) but what are your Hogwarts Houses (if you're a Harry Potter fan of course, which if your not...how?) I'm in Ravenclaw, though my favorite house is Slytherin.
