Xavier

Waking up to the sounds of birds chirping isn't that bad. I had to force myself out bed even though it was a Saturday. I trudged to my bathroom handling my business, I went into my closet and pulled out a shirt then put it on.

Leaving my room I went into the kitchen in search of food. I made myself french toast, bacon, eggs and a cup of coffee. Once I cleaned the dishes I had I headed for my study which happened to be a base replica of my Father's study but I had given my study a personal design with a few things. I sat in my chair as I pulled out a few folders on the packs that I got from my Father with his permission.

I set out to find as much information as I could on the Onyx Crescent Pack. After hours of sifting through files, maps and notes. I discovered that Aaron's pack so happened to be an ally of ours. The pack is of a decent size whereas our pack held over 5,000 wolves.

I was surprised to see that it was he was also Beta Daniel's son as well as the youngest at that. I glanced at the clock to see that it was now 6:45 in the evening, to say that I was shocked to see that I had pretty much spent my day in my study doing research. Well now I see why Mom is always on Dad's case about being holed up in his office for the duration of the day. I thought chuckling.

I took a few minutes to reorganize everything before I got up and walked back to my Father's office to return everything. Once he let me in his office I went up to his desk and placed the folders down on a none cluttered area.

"Hey Dad I'm here to return the folders I borrowed. Would you like me to put them away for you?" I asked I watched him sign off on a few documents before he looked up. "Yes I'd really appreciate it. Did you find everything you needed for your research, Xavier?" He asked while leaning back in his chair as he stretched out.

"Yes I did, it was very was very intriguing though I spent most of the day sifting through all the papers and files there." I said jokingly knowing that it had probably caught on. It appeared that he had because he started to laugh about it. "Yes it would seem that you are starting to catch my habit of staying in one's office till the sun finally retires. Honestly if you kept that up I think your Mother would tie us both to chairs and force us to interact with the rest of the family even the pack." He says chuckling a bit.

"I can see where your coming from." I said nodding my head in agreement. "It was nice having this chat but I have to get ready for a party." I said while walking towards the door. "I really hope you don't do anything stupid while you are partying." He spoke with a serious tone. "Don't worry I won't do anything stupid while I'm out." I replied as I closed the door behind me.

I was heading to my room to get ready but made a detour through the kitchen to grab an apple. While walking up the stairs I ran into Andria. She looked like she was going out and being the sensible older brother that I was I asked her where she was going. "Andria where you headed?" I asked. "I'm hanging out with my friends at a party we were invited to." She answered happily.

I nodded and looked at her attire, deeming it suitable. "Alright then but behave yourself and keep in mind that I'll be there as well." I said continuing up the stairs. I heard her mutter something about overprotective brother but shrugged it off. I headed to my room once again and went straight to the bathroom for a quick shower when I got there. I went into my closet and put on dark gray jeans, a light gray long sleeved button up, and some all black Nike shoes.

Leaving out of my room I grabbed my keys, wallet and phone. I checked my phone seeing it was already 7:55pm. Well the party started 55 minutes ago so I might as well show up late or don't go at all. I opened the front door as I left the pack house. I climbed into my car and turned her on. I backed out turning right before I started heading to Nicole's house.

It took me 10 minutes to get to her place I found a spot to park as I killed the engine. Climbing out I could feel the loud bass from out here. Walking into the house I could instantly tell there was alcohol. I had passed the living room when I felt a tug on my arm. Looking down I saw Nicole as my nose was assaulted with the smell of her overpowering perfume. "Hi Nicole, Nice party you got here." I spoke over the music.

"Oh I'm so glad your here! Now the party can really begin!" She says smiling at creepily at me. I pull my arm free but she grabs it and drags my to the kitchen where an island was filled with drinks. I saw her pour two cups of coca-cola. She handed one to me and kept the other for herself. I was about to take a drink till I smelled something strange.

I smiled at her as I mimicked swallowing some but I didn't really drink any. "How 'bout we go out and party?" I asked calmly. "Yea let's go!" She said sounding way to excited to me. As she headed out I nonchalantly threw my drink away. If she tried to drug me then there must be something she's planning. I thought as I followed her out. I was starting to get into the feel of the party until Nicole grabbed my arm and dragged me upstairs unwillingly.

I instantly pulled my arm away and tried to keep my cool. "What do you want Nicole?" I spat irritated with her already. "I-I just wanted to spend some time with you alone Xavier." She quietly replied as pout formed on her face. It wasn't working for me and I started to head back downstairs because I had no plans of sound what she wanted. Instead of her just leaving me alone, she raced in front of me and started to push on my chest. Having her touch me was repulsive. "You better move or so help me you will wish that you never saw me!" I growled at her.

She glared at me and opened her mouth ready to scream at me but she started to make out with me instead. "Oh I just wanted to become your lover and Luna, that's all." She said with a smirk on her face. I pushed her away and shouted "What the h*ll!?!" insanely pissed and annoyed.

"You have better stop because you'll never be my Luna!" I shouted out and that seemed to shock her but she shrugged. "Well if I can't be your Luna then I'll gladly steal your chances from your mate and make them never want you." She said with a sickly sweet smile on her face. I faintly heard a pained whimper before the scent of honey with vanilla hit my nose.

I immediately knew it was Aaron and I was happy till I realized what this might look like. she must've seen him because she said "Teaches a little wh*re not to be snooping where his nose doesn't belong." with a snicker in her tone.

To say I was upset was an understatement, I was livid. I grabbed her throat, slamming her into a wall. "Don't you dare say anything about him you b*tch or I will f*cking kill you before you can even call for help!!" I growled out as something within me snapped and all I wanted was to kill her or at least make her bleed a lot. "W-why do you e-even give a s-sh*t about h-him when you c-can have m-e ugh." She chocked out as I tightened my grip on her throat till I felt the threatening to break.

I stared her in the eyes and saw the intense fear which I felt very prideful of seeing. "Y-yo-your eye-s." She stammered as she continued to try and pry my hands off her throat. I thought for a moment of it was worth letting her go to see what she was talking about but then I heard it. A very loud and sorrowful howl that made my chest ache with a sharp pain.

I dropped Nicole as I was heading towards the stairs when I turned around glaring at her. "If I so much as smell you on Aaron or even try and send others after him, I won't hesitate to not only kill them but you as well." I spoke menacingly but ended it with a devilish smirk that promised so much pain. She flinched and cowered away which I scuffed at and quickly made it to the first floor with the intent of leaving.

Though as I was leaving the party it seemed as if everyone was dazed, I was going to question it but I pushed it aside as I got this sudden urge to go to wherever the pained howl came from.

I was leading the pack I created along the very edge of Crimson Moon land when I heard the sound of a pained howl. It sounded so heartbroken and somehow intrigued me. I started heading in the direction the sound had come from. We were running for 10 minutes when I caught the scent of honey vanilla. I could feel the sides of my muzzle pull up as a thought had occurred. Could this be the break I was waiting for? I charged forward faster than the rest.

I had just entered a clearing that had a small pond and a lot of land when I spotted what looked like a white wolf at least it looked to small to be considered a wolf more like a pup.  I had to look a second time to be sure I was seeing things right. I can't believe a pup is suppose to hold the power I need to conquer the world. I thought but shook it off as I approached the pup ready to snag it till something growled at me.

It took me about 15 minutes to closer to Aaron by following his scent. As I got even closer I quickly picked up the scent of more than 60 rouges. The thought of Aaron being in danger angered me so much that I felt a bone crack. I barely paid it any mind till my entire body engulfed in pain.

I grunted but kept running, as I went to jump over a log a voice spoke in my head. You want the power to protect him, right? It asked and I quickly replied with "Yes!". Before I knew it the voice had become a part of me and my whole body shifted. I landed on four paws that were as black as a raven's body with tips fading into red. I was stunned but it was quickly over when the same voice spoke. Hey if your done being shocked, I'd say we better save our mate before anything happens to him. I was going to reply but shut up after hearing the word Mate. Aaron is our mate? I thought and quickly went running in his direction.

I came into a clearing and saw a dark grey wolf leering towards what appeared to be a white pup but the the scent of honey vanilla was very strong. I growled out a loud warning to the rouges. They stopped and looked at me. I charged towards the dark grey wolf and stood above Aaron. The rouge wolf grunted and bared its teeth at me but I didn't even flinch. I stood my ground as he tried to lunge Aaron but I snapped at him.

He jumped back in a fighting stance. I could feel a burning growing in my stomach as I stared the rouges down. I centered my focus on the feeling and brought it out. I had opened my mouth and a loud powerful wave of energy burst out. I was quite surprised but focused on the stunned enemies before me. Some of them got up quickly while others stayed laying on the ground. What I had now assumed was the leader had gotten up shaking his head before he glared at me.

I watched as he growled at me again and I did the same but it somehow had more power in it. He cringed but turned tail and ran into the woods with the other quickly following after him as some carried human rouges on their backs. I waited till I knew they were miles away before I relaxed then checked up on Aaron. I nudged his head with my nose realizing my wolf was way bigger than his own wolf which looked a bit bigger than an actual pup.

He whined as his eyes fluttered open and I stared into bright turquoise eyes which looked deep into my soul. Before I could even do anything else, he whined aloud and curled into himself. I felt really bad and the voice chose then to speak. You've hurt our mate's heart by being with that wench when you should've been with him! Now you better find a way to fix this while I go to sleep!! It growled out at me, nearly giving me a headache.

How would I even do that besides I don't even know your name?! I asked in slight frustration. The name is Zakery and you'll think of something since we're the next in line, oh and one more thing you better treat him right from now on and keep him happy! He grunted at me. I was gonna reply but the connection ended. Sighing I looked back at Aaron and thought of shifting back to my human self.

When I shifted back I thanked the Moon Goddess that my clothes were fine. I went to touch him but he only trembled more so I put my hand down. I chose to use my words instead and hoped they got through to him. "Aaron please listen to what I have to say before you do anything." I spoke as calmly as I could. He looked at me with saddened eyes which tore my heart apart but he gave me a small nod which I accepted with a smile.

"What happened at the party was something Nicole did and I never wanted to do anything she had in mind." I growled out. He just stared at me but I still continued. "Once I caught your scent I was happy till she ruined it and I threatened to kill her or anyone she ordered to harm you in any way. I know what I did wasn't justified. I guess what I'm trying to say is will you Aaron Crystal Daniels give me a second chance at proving that I am worthy of being your mate?" I asked him.

I anxiously waited for reply but all I got was the sound of bones popping then a naked crying Aaron in front of me. I quickly removed my shirt and put it on him. He sniffled a bit then looked at me with a small watery smile. "I-I'll think about it then give you my answer. Thank you for explaining yourself to me but I felt utterly shattered when I saw you with her." He said as a yawn escaped his lips.

I smiled at him before asking "Can you walk or do you want me to carry you?" He blushed and looked away. I frowned a bit till I heard him ask "Can you carry me please?" "Yes, now hold on tight." I said while picking him up bridal style and located his phone, keys, wallet plus whatever was left of his clothes then started running through the woods and back to my car. I linked Andria, telling her that I'll be taking Aaron home.

She wanted to know what happened but I told her I'd explain later. Once I neared my car I unlocked it and carefully set him into the passenger seat. I handed him his things before climbing in myself. I started the car turning the AC up to keep Aaron warm. The drive to Aaron's house was quiet but I knew he was thinking things through. When we pulled up I quickly grabbed a jacket I had in the back, putting it on before I helped Aaron out and up to the door.

He was just about to put the key in when the door opened to show his dad. He glanced at me before he stared at his son. "What in the world happened to you?!" He asked in shock and anger. "I-I shifted at the party Dad." Aaron meekly replied. "Oh dear Moon Goddess, did anything else happen?" He asked again as he pulled Aaron inside. Aaron looked at me then his dad. "I met my mate though I'm thinking on accepting them or not." He said sounding happy and sad.

I smiled sadly knowing I was half of the reason my own mate was rethinking the option of accepting or rejecting me. "Y-your what?! Who are they?" His father asked sounding protective and wary at the same time. "I-It's Xavier Hulter dad." He said as calmly as possible as he pointed at me. I was a bit hurt at the lack of emotion but I knew I deserved it for what I put him through.

His father looked at me in shock before it changed and he had a stern look in its place. I was surprised at the quick change of his expressions, which made me worried. "Why is my boy rethinking of accepting you as his mate?" He asked with a edge to his voice which irked me a bit but I held in my emotions as I looked him in the eyes.

"I apologize that we had to meet like this sir but there was an incident that involved a disrespectful female tried to mate with me and your son happened to see." I said with a straight face and eyes filled with regret. I heard Aaron whimper and I wanted to hug him but his Father glared at me.

I cleared my throat and continued. "I had no intentions of even continuing with her plans after Aaron ran off. I threatened the little ska*k then ran after him. When I arrived there were 60 rouges but I protected him because I shifted and used some sort of power to make them leave. I explained to him what happened earlier and he agreed to think and observe if I was worthy to be his mate." I finished with a glance in Aaron's direction.

"I see, well my approval is a small one but I would like to know as well if you are worthy for him as well before anything else is done." His Father grumbled out at me as he put his hand out. I cautiously shook his hand as he spoke again. "I thank you for protecting my boy, Xavier." He gave me a slight smile. I nodded and waved to Aaron as I turned to leave.

"Wait! Xavier here." Aaron said while he passed me a piece of paper. I glanced at it before I nodded and walked out the door heading for my car. Climbing in I put the paper in my pocket then started driving home.
