Chapter 14: Back to School Subjects

Morning arrived in the Old City of Pululus. The prisoners of the mysterious game awoken from the loud sound of Siren that acted as their alarm before an announcer's voice was heard.

"Attention! Please attend to your designated subjects for the morning. If any of you are late, you will be penalised by point deduction!"

As the siren tuned down, the prisoners awoke from their slumber to start their day. Multiple numbered doors started to open up as Pululus exited their rooms, still looking drowsy.

The bandaged man had no trouble in getting up from his bed for he was already awake. Sitting with his legs crossed on the floor of his room. His back straightened but his eyes were closed shut. Silently meditating before quickly getting up and slowly opening his eyes, he picked up some bandages on the floor and placed them around his uncovered face before the bandages automatically wrapped themselves around him. Covering his entire face apart from the eyes.

"Alright, let's start..." He mumbles before tapping his watch as a holographic note of his chosen subjects appeared before him.
"Great... Dancing Class..." He mumbles once more, sounding annoyed before exiting through his door with the number "001".

And as he exited with a look of boredom, there arrived Salena to his vision. Wearing a pinkish -orange long sleeved sweater, blue jeans and light pink shoes. The bunny yawned openly. Spreading her fist wide apart above her head as she exited the room just in front of Yuu's that had the number "034"

His movement paused before Salena managed to notice him after her yawn. She blinked a couple of times, looking as if she was making sure it was him before her previous tired expression immediately shifted to a look of excitement and joy. Her ears perked up along with her smile before speaking.

"BFF!!! Joh-eun achim-ieyo!!!" She greeted him with her eyes closed, her hands spread across the air, and a wide smile exposed to his view.

He sighed knowing he would spend a loud day.
"Good Morning to you too..." He replied with little energy.

"*Gasp*" Salena gasped in surprise.
"You understood what I said?! You understood Korean?!"

"No... I just felt that it's obvious that you greeted me a good morning..."

"Oh, hehe good guess! But it would be great if you understood what I said! It will be a much more fun way to communicate!"

"No... English is fine..."

"Hmmph! You're so grumpy. Are you always like this during the Morning?"

"Actually, No. But I started acting like this the moment I saw you..." Yuu sighed once more, this time he closed his eyes and places his hands inside his pockets. Salena's ears suddenly lowered as her eyes showed daggers. Looking angry and was about to bite him on the head again until the announcer's voice was heard once more.

"Prisoners only have a few minutes left to enter their designated Subjects. Failure to comply will result in a severe penalty!"

Without haste, the two silently exited the hallway together.

Yuu looked forward to finishing his first subject first but upon his arrival in the room, he was left in shock.

"No way..." He whispered with a look of despair.

"No way!" Salena shouted in joy.
"You took a dancing Class as well?! Yey! I'm not alone!" She then proceeds to make small jumps excitingly.

The two of them took the same class.

"I wish I'd pick singing..." Yuu made a final whisper before a robot Pululu called out to them.

"Excuse me, please enter the room or you'll be late!"

Having to follow the teacher's orders, the two of them entered the room. With Yuu's eyes showing annoyance and Salena showing excitement and glee.

There were no seats, only a spacious room with tall ceilings. The other Pululus that also took these subjects were seen forming four rows of lines. Each has a space for them to move freely without bumping into one another.

Salena and Yuu stood at the back row of the first two lines. Waiting for the teacher to begin.

"Since there are newcomers in this disciplinary facility, we shall begin at the beginning. All of you are prisoners. Criminals! During the days of the week, all of you will face each other in the Running Man Survival. But during the Weekend, you will spend your entire day in this building doing activities for your designated classes. This is the best possible way to rehabilitate you from your criminal ways!" Said the robot.

"If they want to rehabilitate us, then why send all of us to an area where we battle each other for survival?
This building isn't helping anyone..."

Salena giggled suddenly.

"What's so funny?" He asked bluntly.

"Hehe... We're going to dance together, bestie~"

"... Shut up..."

She giggled once more.

"Alright, To prevent yourselves from losing any more points, all of you must do well in each of your subjects in terms of performance. The higher your performance is, the more you'll receive additional points. So why don't we get started? The instructor will begin the lesson. All you have to do is follow her dance tutorial"

As the robot finished with its introduction. Large Pululu wearing sweatbands took over the robot's place. The Pululu placed a large radio on the floor and with a press of a button, simple dance music played. One that you can commonly hear during a school fitness dance or exercise.

"Pulu!" The large Pululu shouted as she spread her arms sideways. The rest of the prisoners followed her actions. Spreading their arms sideways as well along with Yuu and Salena.

Following the simple beat of the music, the Pululu stretched her hands to her knees, holding that position for an entire minute. The prisoner did what she showed them as their painful cries could be heard. It was clear none of them was flexible enough to reach their toes with their legs straight apart from Yuu and Salena.

"This isn't dancing! This is just meaningless exercises!" Salena whisper-shouted while touching her toes. Sounding disappointed and angry.

"Speak for yourself" Yuu replied, sounding delightful and full of relief before changing their "Dance steps" by reaching their hands across their back.
"This is my kind of Dancing"

The human enjoyed the exercise knowing no such dances are happening. But the bunny had the opposite reaction. After a while of continuous exercise with the same repeating music, Salena had enough.

She lowered herself to the floor and jumped to the front.

"I've had enough of this!" She shouted before landing as the large Pululu paused. "I'll show you real dancing!" With anger glimmering in her velvet-red eyes, the large Pululu moved out of the way as she switched the music to a different channel. With a few seconds of constantly shifting the channel, Salena finally found the music she had been searching for. It was a song from a Popular Girl Group that is famous throughout the world they live in.

"Yes! As if it's your Last by BlackPeach!" Salena spoke out loud.

(An extra note; The band is supposed to be Blackpink as all of you know, but since Running Man is an alternate world from ours, then obviously there are an alternate band of famous groups. Think of it as a Multiverse of sorts).

And as the start of the song proceeded to get louder with its energetic beat and tune, Yuu's eyes flushed in horror.

"No... Please No..."

"Alright! Can you feel the music everyone? If so join me! Just follow my moves!" The bunny smiled. Looking ecstatic as she jumped up and down.

Once the electro-music tuned down and the lyrics were heard. Salena proceeded to lipsync the vocals while dancing to the music. Looking both energetic and joyous while showing off her true self.

*Here's a little reference to the song and some of the dances they did for those who don't know*

"Neo mwon de jakku saeng-gagna? Jajonsim sanghae aega ta eolgul-i tteugeobgo gaseum-eun gyesog ttwieo nae mom-i mamdaelo an dwae, eojileowo!" The lyrics of the song echoed the room as she danced with a smile. Her body follows the rhythm of both the song and the melody of the lyrics.

As the Pululus watched her, Yuu stood still and crossed his arms before placing a palm on his face as he sighed in frustration.

"Your embarrassing yourself..." He mumbled but soon a Pululu's cheer was heard. He bobbed his head back up and witnessed the previous Pululu instructor dancing next to Salena. Mimicking her exact movement with the same energy Salena had.

"Yeah! Now you're getting it!" Salena commented, shifting her waist side to side along with the bit. With her adorable demeanour, the way she danced was a forbidden combination and beauty and hotness that drove the rest of the Prisoners to unleash their inner Dancer persona and followed her all the way.

With a room full of dancing Pululus to a Pop song, Yuu was both horrified and Mortified. And it just got worse when the robot from earlier tapped his shoulders while dancing like everyone else.

"Hey, you better dance if you wish not to get sent to prison forever," Said the robot, it was clear that it was enjoying the moment.

"...Actually... Prison doesn't sound bad... compared to this..." He replied in defeat as the robot laughed.

"Quit Joking around, new guy! Just Dance! Or you will rot in jail, forever"

"The moment I dance... Is the very moment I shall stab my self with a knife and commit sepoku..."

"... I'm not joking, I'll seriously put you behind bars for 1000 years..."

"... If I ever get out of here, and free the prisoners from this place... You know I'll dismantle you... Right?"

"Oh I know, but as of now, you're my prisoners. Do dance!" The robot said with a laugh.

Yuu's aggravated groan was audible enough yet no one paid attention. He gritted his teeth and shut his eyes before opening them to follow Salena's step. And surprisingly, he was doing pretty well. Shifting his waist from side to side like a real pop dancer. Only his eyes showed great hate for what he was doing.

"Yeah, now you're doing it Bestie! Move your hips!" Salena shouted in joy.

"She's right you know, you can dance" The robot whispered.

"Shut up...!"

"Your friend there s really good. I think I'll make her the new instructor for this class!" The robot stated once more.

"Kill me now!!!!" Yuu shouted within his head as several hours passed by.

It was lunchtime and the Runningman all gathered in their own meeting lounge to chat.

"So how did your day classes go?" Liu asked the group as Lonky, Popo, and Yuu answered in unison.

"Terrible!"

"Awww someone's cranky. Tehee~" Salena pointed out with a teasing laugh.

"Why? What were your subjects?" Liu asked out of concern and curiosity.

"It was awful! I had to pick 3 subjects that I thought were easy but it's not! My first subject was Balance and Posture! Then my second subject was Humble Actions!"

"But... You're a prince. Shouldn't that be a cakewalk for you?"

"Cakewalk?... Came walk?! They placed a bowl of fruits and books on top of my head and forced me to walk and obey them like a slave! I'm prince Lonky!" The angry Giraffe shouted.

"Right..." Liu rolled his eyes.

"What about you Po-bro? Why are you upset?" Salena asked, sweetly.

"My first subject was Physical Education and then Science!! They told me to do push-ups! And sit-ups, and many more! Do you see me?! I'm a talented Mage! I don't waste my energy on meaningless things like that!" The Penguin burst in rage. Aggressively waving his fist up and down, slamming the soft sofa.

"Aww... Po-bro. Don't worry I'll cheer you up!" Salena grabbed the whining penguin and placed him on her lap before hugging him from behind. Snuggling as she did.

"Hmm... This is actually quite comfortable..." Popo commented with a look of relief but it seemed Salena only wanted to cuddle him due to his soft feathers.

"How about you? You look awful. Did you fight someone?" Miyo asked the sulking Human who was leaning forward to his knees as he sat. Looking as if he was contemplating his life choices.

"Oh, I did... But it wasn't a person... I lost and the price was my dignity..."

"You say that now but I saw your moves. You were a natural!" Salena stopped cuddling the penguin and pulled a phone-like device out of the pocket of her sweater.

With a simple swipe, video footage of Yuu dancing like a female pop star was in view.

"See?! You're great! You're such a fast learner!" Salena commented.

The rest watched in silence for a moment before pieces of their laughter escaped from their mouth. Liu, Lonky, Kuga, and Popo, tried their utmost best to detain their laughter but their expressions showed their true intention. Only Miyo and Pala weren't laughing as the Impala was seen sleeping on the sofa while holding his cane while Miyo just smiled.

Having to hear their laughter, he quickly moved his head upwards and stared at his friends with a terrifying gaze. As his eyes shifted to red, they could all feel a surge of silent rage emitting from Yuu, causing them to straighten their posture and forgot what they have just seen.

"T... That's very rude, Salena. Taking a video footage of Yuu like that without his permission!" Lonky exclaimed. His face covered with fear due to Yuu's gaze.

"Y-yeah! That... That is so wrong!" Liu followed.

"But Salena has a point though... You are quite good at dancing" Miyo commented with a smirk.

"Not helping...!"

"Come on! You're telling me you didn't enjoy it one bit? The previous instructor wasn't even teaching us how to dance properly!" Salena said.

"I preferred that way more than what you did... But there's no point in arguing about it since it's in the past..." Yuu let out a loud frustrated sigh before leaning his back on the sofa.

"What about your second subject?" Miyo asked.

"Archery"

"Oooh! And how did the went?" Salena asked curiously.

"It was a piece of cake. Though I was new to the compound bow so I had to ask for some tutorials..."

"Compound bow? But that's really basic. In the Nyanya tribe, you can find countless varieties of Technologically enhanced Bows" Miyo replied.

"Same in the Bug tribe, but we mostly make them for the other tribes with payment" Liu spoke as well.

"Yeah, and in the Hidden Shifter Tribe, our bow and arrows, including spears and other maker weapons were made from sturdy Acacia wood and metal forged by our blacksmith by hand and hammer. We're not as High tech as your tribe so everything is new to me"

"Well, how did it go then? Did you pass?" Miyo proceeded to ask her question.

"I did what in my tribe is called "Robinfuddo" or Robin Hood in what is most commonly known..."

"Robin Hood with a steel compound arrow?! How is that possible?!" Miyo asked out of surprise.

"Umm... What's a Robin Hood?" Salena asked the question the rest were thinking off.

"Well..." Yuu took a quick inhale before explaining to them what he did.
"Robbin hood is when you hit your mark with an arrow and then you shoot another arrow that pierces the first arrow from the back all the way to the front but the pierced arrow mustn't break the first one. Only split it. You get this result with the right power, accuracy and precision"

"What?! You did that with a steel arrow?!" Everyone, apart from Miyo, Salena, and Pala, and Kuga, asked in shock. Their loud voices awoke the sleeping Impala.

"What? What did I miss?" Pala asked.

"Wow! That's amazing!" Salena commented with widened eyes.

"Yeah, it was pretty easy. The trick is that you don't hold your aim. You need to quickly pull the bow all the way to its limit and immediately release it rather than holding it to aim. That way, you'll have much more force upon impact"

"Easy for you to say... You literally just described flicking an arrow from a bow and hitting a bullseye without aiming..." Liu stated.

"I wonder what would happen if Yuu had used a bow during our fight with Charming Gold...?" Lonky asked.
"Things would have been a lot easier"

"Unfortunately, I don't like using a bow. It's too cliche... If I was given a choice, I'd rather fight hand to hand or... Hand to bandages... Or hand to Bo Staff"

"Woah! You know how to use a Bo Staff?" Popo asked.

"I do. It was my prior weapon back in my tribe. Before I switched to bandages"

"You're so cool! Can you teach me how to use a bow like that!" Salena asked him. Having high hopes and expectations shown in her eyes.

"Sure... Maybe someday"

"Yey!!"

"Anyways, how about you guys none of you had troubles with your subjects?" Yuu asked in return.

"Nope. My subjects were pretty easy. I'm just waiting for the last one after that, maybe we can finally get some rest" Kuga replied first before Liu.

"I agree with Kuga on that. My subjects are mostly Intelligence-based. So I pretty much have this in the bag"

"Well, at least we only have one subject left. I overheard one of the guards talking that if we were to show our best during the classes, we can get an entire day off tomorrow. The perfect time for us to rest before the next game..." Miyo announced to them as all of them put up a serious look.

"I see... Then we better perform our very best. We don't know what the next game would've been like, not to mention... We still have to fight the remaining Keepers... The first one was challenging enough so we must work together to win!" Liu's speech manages to boost their confidence, especially Lonky and Popo's.

As all of them nodded their heads, the Siren's sound echoed the building. Signalling the end of their breaks to start the final subjects.

They went to their separate classes and Yuu arrived at his designated classroom.

It was as wide as his previous classroom but instead of desks or tables, the room had a separate kitchen stove and Oven along with a separate fridge for the prisoners to use.

He picked one empty seat behind a tiled desk of ingredients next to a grey Pululu with an English Mustache.

As the class started to lecture, his eyes showed his normal, nonchalant personality but inside Yuu felt somewhat excited to actually learn how to bake.

But as seconds, minutes, or even hours went the lecturer only ever thought them the step-by-step procedures based on a large book he was reading. The Mathematical procedures the lecturer explained caused Yuu to yawn as he tapped his fingers on the tiled deck. Wanting for this day to get over as this wasn't what he had expected it would be.

"I picked this subject because I wanted to learn how to bake some doughnuts... Not learn math..." Feeling aggravated, Yuu silently slammed his face on the desk. Maintaining that posture for a while before the Pululu next to him tapped his arm.

He looked over to see the Pululu handing him a Doughnut wrapped in clean paper. The Pululu shook his hand holding the doughnut and raised his left eyebrow with a curved smile.

"For me...?" He asked in surprise as the Pululu nodded.

He slowly leaned back to his chair, glancing at the instructor who wasn't even paying attention to the other sleeping Pululus and just continued to read the book. As he turned his head back to the Pululu, he took the doughnut. The feeling as he received the doughnut was warm as if it was freshly baked and the icing on top was still liquid.

He took one bite, and then another, and before he had realized it, he had eaten the whole doughnut in seconds. The taste was nothing compared to anything he had tasted before and immediately turned to the Pululu.

"This... This is delicious...! It's not even that sweet but it taste... I've never tasted anything like that before"

The Pululu merely chuckled at his remark before wiping his hands with a clean towel.

"Why would you give me one?" Yuu asked but realizing who he was talking to made him answer his own question.
"Oh yeah, you're a Pululu. You can't speak English..."

"Not true, you'd be surprised to know how many Pululus actually speak multiple languages" The Pululu with a moustache suddenly spoke. Surprising him even more.

"Oh... Sorry then. But back to my question... Why did you have me a doughnut?"

"Simple, you wanted a doughnut so I gave you one" The Pululu replied.

"Right..."

"I also overheard you saying you wanted to make doughnuts. Well, that's too bad. I've been here for a long time and I've never seen any of the other prisoners open their ovens. The instructor just explains to you the lesson but never really gets to try one for yourself. That's why I always bake desserts in secret. My name's Hosea (Hō~Sē~Ya~) by the way. I'm a baker"

"Yuu Yamada. How did a baker end up in a twisted prison game like this?"

"Curious aren't you?" Hosea asked in return before answering.
"Well, I used to own a bakery at Capitol City called Golden Wheat. Probably heard about it?" The baker asked once more with a smirk.

"Nope. I don't even know what Capitol City is..."

"Huh. You should probably visit that City someday. It's the largest city in the world! Tree city is just a big city in the clouds but it's nothing compared to Capitol City! Anyways, as I said, I was a baker in Capitol City. A local police officer wanted to eat for free by blackmailing me. He said if I didn't give him free privileges, then he would announce to everyone that I used to be a criminal"

"You were a criminal before?" Yuu asked, surprised.

"Yeah. Bank Robber in fact. But after getting locked up for a considerable amount of years, I left my criminal ways and started my own business from the bottom up" The Pululu sighed, looking down as if he regretted so much of his past.
"Of course, I gave the police officer free privileges... But every day he kept entering and eating and asking for more. I just couldn't handle it so I..."

"So you killed him...?" You finished Hosea's sentence for him.

"Great Ulcus, No!" Hosea denied, looking offended.
"I would never kill anyone! But... I did best him up... A lot... It was out of pure anger and I had no control. Then a few more police showed up and arrested me while the Police Officer that I caught was sent to the nearest Hospital. And now I'm here. Stuck in this game for 10 years"

"Dang... That's heavy. Look on the bright side, you never lost your touch. That was the best doughnut I ever had"

"Haha, thanks, Kid..." Hosea chuckled.

"Say... Do you mind teaching me how to make doughnuts...?" Yuu asked.

"It's been a long time since I had a disciple. Sure, why don't we get started?" The baker turned to face Yuu with an eyebrow raised before flicking the switch that turned on his Oven.

After a few hours, the school day had finally come to an end. The prisoners were now free to roam the campus until curfew.

In the meantime, Yuu was walking down an empty hallway just after leaving his classroom with a doughnut in his hand. He stared deeply at the doughnut, watching its messy combination of Icing and sprinkles as Hosea's words arrived in his head.

"Well... Truth be told, that is the ugliest doughnut I have ever seen... But... It's progress. You're a fast learner Yuu, just remember what I teach you from now on and you'll master the arts of baking. Who knows, you might even surpass me one day! Anyone can bake. But for now, just be proud of your first creation"

You creaked a smile before lowering the bandages around his mouth and taking a quick bite. Savouring the taste of his first doughnut.

"... It's sweet... But not the kind of sweet I want... Still... It's progress"

He continued to eat the doughnut as he walked down the hallways with his eyes closed.

Until distant music was heard. He paused for a moment before proceeding to his path. As the music got louder and more audible, he started to understand the melody.

The music had no vocals or any modern instrument. It was somewhat classical. A unique combination of Flute, Violin, and Soft beating of drums. Letting out a beautifully emotional melody.

As Yuu got closer to the source of music, he stumbles upon an open door. It was the door to his Dancing Class.

Without hesitation, he quietly peaked inside and there his eyes slowly widened.

In front of him was Salena, dancing elegantly with grace.

This was nowhere near compared to the previous dancing style. It was as if she was performing a sacred dance ritual to appease their God.

Wearing nothing but a simple white T-shirt and black shorts that showed her small tail and was bare footed. It was his first time seeing her feet and it was petite unlike he expected. Just like a real rabbit.

Sweat traced her body as it gleamed under the light of the setting sun through the open windows. Her moves were soft and calm as a river in a small stream. Showing signs of dedication to what she was doing as Yuu watched her from a side view.

Until he noticed something strange. It was her eyes and the way she looked. Compared to the previous dance, she was not smiling nor had joy in her eyes. She looked almost conflicted about her future and made the human suspicious.

He focused solely on her eyes which revealed hints of sadness within her movements. He didn't know what she was thinking as she danced but somehow, he felt like what she is doing is forced.

Until Salena made a slow spin. Turning around elegantly until their eyes met once more. Silence occured as shepaused. Only the melody of the music could be heard until Salena formed a quick smile and spoke.

"Oh, hello there, bestie. I didn't know you were watching. How long have you been there?" She asked, letting out exhausted breaths as Yuu brushes away his deep thoughts for a reply.

"I... I just arrived recently"

"Oh, I see. Did you like my performance?" She asked before turning her back, still maintaining a smile as she walked towards the radio that played the song.

"... What was that dance?" He asked.

Salena pauses the music and without looking back at him, she replied.

"Oh, that? That was nothing. Just some dance they used to teach us in our tribe. I'm a princess after all so Dancing elegantly is always a must for royals. Don't know if Lonky can relate though,Haha~" Salena laughed lightly before grabbing her towel and wiping her face.

Yuu continued to stand at his exact position. He noticed the tone of her voice and the way she speak changed since she stopped dancing and made him more suspicious but was careful not to be obvious regarding it.

"Didn't you say you wanted to be free from your tribe's strict rule? That's why you left?" Yuu asked as he stepped forward.

Salena continued to wipe off her sweat from her body as she responded.

"Mhm! That's what I said"

"So why were you doing the dance they thought you?"

"Well... I guess it just kind of become a habit. I often do this from time to time" She says.

"Then why did you look upset?" Yuu pointed out as he took a step forward. Finally entering the room.

"What?" She asked, still not looking back as she wiped the sweat around her stomach from behind her Shirt.
"...I wasn't upset"

"I saw the look in your eyes and the way you danced, you looked upset"

"Oh... I... just miss my parents. Doing this dance often reminds me of, my family"

"No... There's something else. You're hiding something"

Her words managed to pierce her. She paused on what she was doing as her smile vanished. She slowly placed the towel on the table in front of her. Maintaining her head lowered.

"What made you say that...?"

"When you danced earlier, you were happy. You were filled with overwhelming joy to finally be yourself. Yet... When I saw you dance just now... You didn't have any of that energy from before. The look you had... Revealed that you are forcing yourself to do this specific dance... Why...?"

As she took in a few moments of silence, Salena clenched her fist and slowly faced him. Finally looking at him in the eye. Her face revealed a troubled look as if she was struggling to search for an answer. Then she moved her head sideways to escape his gaze and replied nervously.

"I... I'm... I'm sorry... I can't tell you what that dance was for... I'm really sorry... Yuu... But it's true... Something is bothering me and that dance has a lot to do with it... But I just can't tell you..."
Tears slowly formed in her eyes. Biting her lips to not let out her whimpers as she waited for Yuu's reaction.

"I see... That's alright then" Yuu shrugged as he replied.

Salena quickly bobbed her head back with a look of surprise as tears paused from her eyes.

"W-wait... Really? A-aren't you going to ask my why I can't tell you?" She continued to ask.
"Aren't you going to convince me we deep sentences until I tell you and... Console to you?"

"Nope. You're keeping it a secret for a reason, I'm not going to force you to tell me your personal thoughts. I'd rather let you share it with me if you wanted to"

Salena blinked a couple of times before a light laugh escaped her mouth.

"... I see... Haha, I'm so stupid. Sorry for assuming so quick"

"It's alright"

"I just have a lot in mind right now... But, I promise you. I will tell you everything about me. I just don't know when"

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure you'll find a loophole"

Salena smiled sweetly at his clever remark before sitting on the desk behind her.

"I'm actually surprised that you know I was happy dancing earlier," She said as she slightly lowered her head.

"Are you kidding me? You were smiling and laughing at me. How is that not obvious that you're happy?"

"No. I mean... What you said earlier... About me finally being happy to be myself. I was surprised that you saw right through just like that"

"... You did say you dislike strict rules. I assumed you were never allowed to be yourself in your tribe. So seeing you dance like that is a sign of your true self"

"Fighting is also a sign of my true self you know?" She smirked cleverly at him with an eyebrow raised.

"Yeah, how could I forget the so-called Blue Flash?" The two shared common as they laughed while remembering the time they fought each other during their fierce battle.
"You surprised me quite a lot. I've never expected for you to be so strong, Lei Zhi"

"Hehe, you're lucky I only used half of my power on you" She replied.

"Oh? You're saying you were holding back?" The human asked.

"You held back too didn't you?"

Yuu managed to let out a quick snicker after she saw right through him.

"You got me"

"See? We were both holding back. That's why in our next fight, let's give it our all"

"Sure. I'd be happy to fight against you someday" He replied. Smiling underneath his bandages as Salena placed her hands on the desk she say on. Trying to balance herself as she puffed out her chest for a comfortable position.

"You know... This isn't really what I had in mind when I took this class as a subject..."

"What do you mean? You danced earlier remember? Everyone even enjoyed it... Well, it was embarrassing for me"

"Haha~" Salena laughed first before proceeding with her response.
"That's not it. When I joined this class I thought it was going to be a slow dance, you know? Like those you often see in Romance shows where people wear suits and dresses as they dance under the dazzling light of crystal chandelier and romantic music? So romantic..." Salena explained to him while closing her eyes and placing both of her palms on her cheeks as if she were living in her wildest fantasies.

"... You ok?" Yuu asked as he faked a cough to try and bring Salena back to the real world which worked as she quickly straightened her posture.

"Um.. yeah, sorry. I just got caught up in the daydream but you got my point"

"... Hmmm to be honest. I sort of thought the same"

"Really?!" She gawked.

"Yeah. The first dance I ever saw was from a cartoon TV show in my tribe. It's exactly like what you described. So when I heard Dancing, I immediately thought of slow dance. And then it changed into a horror show when you stepped in front..."

Salena kept giggling at Yuu's sarcastic and nonchalant remark. Takes pleasure in everything that Yuu says before coming up with an idea that she shared with him.

"Hey! I've got an idea! Why don't we do it?"

"Do what?"

"The slow dance!" Salena shouted her response with a wide smile.

"What?! No way!"

"Come on! Don't be so grumpy!" She hopped out of the desk and quickly put on her jacket and moved toward the radio.

"No! I am not doing this..." Yuu continued to disagree with her idea but Salena is already beyond convincing. After a few turns the Channel switched on the radio, and a song was played.

*You guys can choose whether or not to play the song for an added effect on this part. Or not. Depends on your preference :) It would be better if there's a way to add music while reading in wattpad instead of videos*

"Yes! Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol! Perfect!" Salena commented with an exciting look.

"Nope! I'm not doing this. I'm out!" Yuu quickly turned around to face the door and attempted to run away until Salena held him by his right wrist and caused him to stop.

"Come on, Yuu. Why are you so afraid of dancing?"

"... I don't dance..." Yuu replied without looking back or moving.

"I saw you dance earlier. You may have been forced to dance but you have a talent for it. Why not just try it...? It's just us here. No one else but us. No one will know. It's gonna be fun! Trust me!"

"...." You failed to respond but Salena showed no sign of releasing him until a sigh escaped his mouth.
"... Fine... But this stays between us!" Yuu ended up agreeing as he knew there was no escape.

"Yey!!!" Salena cheered wholesomely as her ears perked up.
"It stays only between us...!" Salena repeated.

With a few more moments, Yuu finally decided to turn around to face her. His eyes showed off a contradicted look while Salena was as happy and excited as she can be.

"... So... Now what?" Yuu asked.

"Well, first... We hold our hand properly" Selena slowly grabbed hold of Yuu's other hand. Slowly wrapping it with her soft, furry hands.
"Next... You put your other hand on my waist! And I'll put mine on your shoulder!" Still holding him by the wrist, Salena dragged his hand down to her waist and placed it there before placing her hand gently on his right shoulder. He could feel Yuu slowly tensing up as if he was getting embarrassed. Salena ended up giggling.
"Just relax. We're not fighting"

"Yeah... Sorry... I'm just not used to this... Closeness" He replied before exhaling deeply as he tried his best not to make himself even more uncomfortable by trying not to look at her.

"What's next?" He asked looking at the empty ceiling.

"Next is... You look at me in the eyes"

"You've gotta be kidding me... Fine"

And eventually, their eyes met once more. With his face hidden, no one can tell what expression he was showing but Salena continued to look at him with a sweet, W-shaped smile.

"Good... And now... Take one step forward and sway to the left"

Yuu did as what he was told, as he took a step forward, Salena took a step back before both of them swayed to the left by taking a small step toward the left.

"Then two steps back..." After they swayed, they returned their foot and took two steps back while Salena stepped forward. Without even saying it, Yuu had subconsciously swayed to the right along with Salena as if his instincts told him to do it on his own.

"See? You're getting it! Now, let's just repeat it a couple more times"

Yuu said no words but it was clear he understood her very well.

They continued to do the same movements for several turns as the music gave them the perfect ambience along with the setting sun.

Staring deep at each other's eyes, Yuu's stress was slowly relieved. He felt somewhat calm and pleasant. Happy if even, but he didn't know why. And while Salena still looked happy, she felt something was different. She noticed the warmth of his hand. She had already felt his hands before but never recalled having to feel this warmth. It was all new to her all of a sudden. But it was not just his hands that were new. The way they were this close as their heath and scent slowly merged, she slowly felt a weird feeling within her that she couldn't describe.

Soon their back-and-forth dance evolved. Yuu had taken the lead and with the next step, he changed direction. They were now facing the right side of their previous position. And with each step, he continued to gently move her from one direction to the next. No longer staying in one place.

As Salena noticed this, her smile slowly disappeared as all that was left was their eyes planted deeply at each other. Her lips became neutral.

"Wow... Yuu is really good... He's learning so fast... And his eyes... Were they always this... Captivating?" Salena.

Yuu's light blue eyes and Salena's Velvet red eyes contradicted but the sunlight from the outside made it seem like their colours were combining to form a beautiful purple hue for a split second before moving on to the next direction.

Without any more words being spoken. Salena and Yuu danced in silence. Only letting the slow, beautiful song take control of their emotions and steps.

Until the music would reach its end.

He raised the hand that held Salena's and slowly twirled her. Salena spun elegantly before returning to his arms as they continued their steps.

"Salena looks different from up close... She's less... Annoying to look at..."

Yuu thought to himself.

While Yuu could only hear the music as an added effect, Salena listened to the lyrics very clearly. And each lyric of the song made her heart pound faster as she kept staring at Yuu's eyes. She was lost in the moment and all she could do was let Yuu lead her.

She could no longer describe what she was feeling. She felt happy, she felt sad, she felt joyous, and she felt lost. There were no clear words on how to describe her emotions.

Could this be...

...What falling feels like...?

Suddenly, as the song reached its end. Yuu slowly let go of Salena's hand and placed it around her upper back before twisting his body to the right and dipping her down.

He gently lowered her to the ground as he leaned forward along with her to match the end of the song.

But he had no idea why he did it or how he even managed to pull it off as their eyes never broke the gaze.

Their faces were closer than ever and both of them were paralyzed to do anything. Only hearing their synchronized breaths.

Salena's heart-shaped pupils were slowly getting larger before tints of pink occured on her cheeks.

They proceeded to stare at each other and suddenly, both of them were getting closer to their faces.

Her chest was pounding and her breathed was increasing in the moment.

Then, they heard someone speak which broke their trance.

"... WHAT THE...!"

Hearing a distant voice, Yuu and Salena quickly turned their heads and saw Liu standing with a look of shock. His mouth wide opened and his left hand opened with a carton of milk spilt on the floor below him.

"L-Liu!" Yuu called his name. Looking like he's back to his normal state.
"This-this isn't what it looks like. We can explain...!" Yuu says with widened eyes.

"Ummm... No need to explain Yuu. S-sorry for disturbing your umm... Moment. Pretend like I was never here!" Liu quickly swiped the carton of milk and made a run for it.

"Liu wait!" Yuu shouted before quickly, but gently picking up Salena and assisted her to stand properly.
"Sorry, Salena! I need to explain our situation to Liu" Yuu said to the surprised bunny before Running after him and leaving the room as his voice was heard in the hallway.

"LIU WAIT! LET ME EXPLAIN WHAT HAPPENED! DON'T GET THE WRONG IDEA DUDE SO STOP RUNNING"

"AHHH!!! I DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING YUU! DON'T KILL ME!!! PLEASE!!!"

"LET ME EXPLAIN!"

As the shouting became less audible, Salena was seen standing at the same position that faced the door where he left. She was somehow paralyzed. And as she manages to take a deep breath, she made a long exhaled. Her legs failed to keep her balance as she fell on the floor.

She clenched her chest, feeling her pounding heart as her breathing began to get heavy. Her cheeks flushing in pink colours and her eyes were exposed with their red-heart pupils.

"What... What was that...?! What's just happened to me...?!"

Salena asked herself, still breathing heavily as her loud breathing echoed around the room.

She made an audible gulp and bit her lower lip to breathe through her nose before speaking while still clenching her chest.

"I... I think... I think I need to rest... And call my sister..."
