It took Sotiras three days to get Aliea to Long Island. For reasons he was unclear of, monsters seemed strangely attracted to the daughter of Hermes. So far though, the Lamia was the only monster that seemed to want to hurt Aliea. The others seemed to just want to get close to her. It was one of the most bizarre things Sotiras had ever seen.
By the time the duo had made it to Camp Half-Blood, Sotiras was running dry. He had been up for almost a week with less than 4 hours of sleep total and he was exhausted. He tended to attract a lot of monsters with his own demigod scent, and he didn't know if he would be able to fend them off with his energy level.
As Sotiras and Aliea approached Thalia's pine tree, Sotiras heard three shrieks from behind them. Well shit. Sotiras whirled around, shoving Aliea behind him, cloak swirling around his ankles. Three flying hags with bat wings were flying towards the pair at an alarming pace. "Oh fuc- I mean, fudge.
"Aliea, listen to me. Do you see that tree at the top of the hill?" At Aliea's nod, Sotiras continued, casting a glance over his shoulder. "Go to the tree and at the bottom of the hill there will be a farmhouse. Don't stop until you reach the door. If anyone asks how you got here without a guide, tell them Sotiras helped you get here. Now go!"
Lightly shoving Aliea's shoulder, Sotiras turned over his shoulder just in time to narrowly avoid getting a giant hole in his shoulder. "That wasn't very nice," Sotiras growled, before pulling out two bronze daggers from beneath his cloak. With his right hand, he slashed at one of the furies and thrust his left hand behind him at the same time. The fury behind him became a rain of yellow powder, and the two remaining furies became enraged.
"We were not tasked to kill you savior, but if we must, we will," one of the furies said, lunging at his head. Sotiras leaned to the left to avoid the talons aimed at his face at sliced with his dagger at the fury to his right, vaporizing her on the spot. In the wake of the remaining fury's surprise, Sotiras threw his dagger at her chest, turning her into golden dust.
Sotiras threw a quick glance over his shoulder to see if Aliea made it past the hill, and was horrified to see the shadows of approaching figures in the growing light from the rising sun. He had to get out of there, and now. Sotiras took his sword and scratched an uppercase sigma into the ground, turned on his heel, and had disappeared before the figures on the hill had known that he was there.
