Was there something wrong with me?

Am I hidden in the dark?

After all these things I see,

It ends up falling all apart.

My heart's hidden in this cage,

Where it's somewhere deep inside,

Where he let out all his rage,

Smiles covered the tears I hide.

He's the one I'm closest to,

Yet can break me oh so fast.

He points his finger, says, "It's you."

Will this friendship ever last?

I loved him more than this,

Like the sun loves the moon,

When he leaned in for a kiss,

It all happened way too soon.

So I love my best friend,

Though I'm light and he's dark,

Hope our friendship doesn't end,

Hope we don't break each other's hearts.

Love that is a curse,

Like the blood inside our veins,

The tenderness and the hurt,

The things that drive you insane.

He's been there for all parts,

And we're falling in a pit,

He's the beat to my heart,

And he's what will destroy it.
