Chapter 9
Levy P.O.V
Gajeel hadn't been kidding when he said I wasn't to leave his sight, because that night, he made his point by sleeping over. Not only that, but he took down my tiny hammock, that was barely big enough for me, and replaced it with a larger one, that fit us both. I had thrown a fit, but after giving up and curling up with him, I knew he wasn't allowed to leave. He was so warm and comfortable.
It had been three days since I talked with Droy, and I hadn't shown any symptoms yet. Except on the morning of the fourth day. I woke up with a slight head ache, the light shining through the windows not helping, so I turned my face into Gajeels chest, snuggling further into him. I felt his low chuckle shake the hammock. " Morning shrimp." He said and I grumbled, making him laugh again. He carefully shifted me to the side before rolling out of the hammock, making it swing and earning another groan from me. I wiggled to the edge and peered up at him, blinking sleep from my eyes. I frowned when I couldn't seem to get my vision to clear.
I rubbed my eyes and looked up at him again, but his shape was still blurry, like I was looking up at him through a chlorine filled pool. My breath caught in my throat as I remembered what Jets first symptom was. Gajeel didn't notice, as he had already headed to the bathroom for his morning shower. I rolled myself out of the hammock and hurried to my small wall mirror and tried to look. My reflection was hazy and I could barely make out the my facial features. "Damn it." I muttered, rubbing my eyes again. The sound of heavy footsteps made me stop and look into the mirror again. " Showers yours shrimp." Gajeel said with a yawn and I heard him walk towards the closet that I had cleared for him. I couldn't see his reflection. I quickly dug in my dresser drawer and hoped what I grabbed wasn't too awful before heading for the shower.
Luckily I didn't run into any doors or walls, I was hoping to kept this off as long as possible. Years of living in this place helped, along with a short two months we lived without electricity, made maneuvering and operating the shower easy. Once I was clean and fresh I got dressed, glad i managed to grab pants and a shirt and not two of one, then turned to the bathroom mirror. I wiped away the steam and squinted at it. My vision was a little better, I could make out my nose, but it was still difficult.
I sighed in frustration before brushing out my hair and heading to the living room, where Gajeel had already claimed the couch. I walked over and laid beside him, the couch barely big enough for the two of us. I turned on the tv, one of the many things I brought from the white district, and settled in to watch some old reruns, using Gajeels arm for a pillow. With no more runs being done, we could relax to a point. We laid there for maybe two hours, watching an old show called The Big Bang Theory. I found it very comical, Gajeel, not so much. "Are you drooling on my shrimp?"He suddenly asked, poking my hip.
I frowned, "Huh?" I sat up and held in a small gasp as I saw blood on his arm. He quickly sat up and gently held my face, worry creasing his face as I gently touched my nose, blood coating my finger tips. I quickly got up and nearly ran for the bathroom, washing face in the sink. " Levy."Gajeels voice came from the door, making me jump. I held a wash cloth to my nose before turning my blurry gaze to him. " Your visions going too, isn't it?" He asked quietly. I looked down at my feet, not answering him, but that was enough answer from him. " Damn it Levy." He grumbled as he stomped towards me.
I looked up just as he wrapped his arms around me, holding me close. " Why didn't you say anything?" I sighed a little. " Your worried enough as it is. And there's nothing we can do about it..." I said quietly, my voice shaking slightly. I hadn't realized I had started crying until he wiped my eyes, and gently scooped me up. I wrapped an arm around his neck, the other still trying to stop my nose bleed. He sat on the couch, keeping me in his lap as he held me tightly. I cried quietly into his shoulder until I slowly fell asleep.
