Gajeel P.O.V

" I swear to god if you don't stop, I'm gonna feed you to one of those things myself." I snapped at Grey, who was impatiently bouncing his leg and tapping the end of his metal pipe on the roof we sat on. He rolled his eyes but held the pipe across his lap, returning his gaze to the warehouse where coats were guarding a black van. The van was being loaded with supplies and serum bound for the white district. We would be waiting for them to leave before taking the van, we hadn't made a move while they were moving before, it was too dangerous. But we were running out of options.

I looked at our small group, all stone faced with weapons in hand. We wouldn't kill anyone if we could help it, but those monster sniffers wouldn't think twice about killing us. Lucy had two small daggers, easy to carry and use, Elfman was bare handed, positive his manlyness was enough of a weapon. I myself had fingerless gloves that had small iron spikes lining the knuckles and Juvia had a pipe, just like Grey.

I stood up as they closed up the van and as soon as it left, we moved. There was a second van close behind, one that we knew was full of coats and sniffers, so we needed to take it out first.  Grey and Elfman hung back, waiting for the van to draw even with them before Grey lept from the roof. He landed almost silently on top of the sniffer van, having to scramble for purchase on the slick roof. Elfman kept pace with the van as Grey took the pipe in both hands, and drove it straight through the vans engine. The vehicle swirved as the drive tried to shake Grey free,"Get going!" He shouted at us.

" Go! We will be fine!" Elfman shouted before jumping down to help Grey. Reluctantly we continued on, Juvia nearly in hysterics about leaving Grey. " Juvia he'll be fine!" I shouted at her before jumping towards the first van. I was no where near as light and graceful as Grey, the roof buckled slightly as I landed hard, the van immediately swirving to knock me loose. I leaned over the passenger side of the van, using my reinforced gloves to punch out the door window. I grabbed the man in the passenger seat and easily tossed him out the window, allowing him to roll into a dirty alley. A soft thud behind me made me turn, only to see Lucy slip into the now vacant passenger seat.

Juvia was now beside me, so quiet I didn't know she was there until she shoved her pipe through the vans engine. The van swirved, between the failing engine and whatever hell Blondie was giving the driver, Juvia and I had to cling to the roof to keep from being knocked loose. The tires squeeled as the van skidded to a stop, the driver side door was flung open and the driver was tossed out. " Woman can't you drive!" I shouted at the blonde as she hopped out with a grin. "Do you know how hard it is to drive with a back seat driver." She pouted.

Juvia giggled slightly as she slid down from the roof of the van, sliding the side door open. I jumped down beside the girls as the began grabbing supplies and filling their belt pouches. " There's just enough serum for the runners." Lucy said as she rummaged in the back of the van. A beeping sound suddenly came from Juvias belt, and she pulled out her small communication screen. "Grey-sama!" She said with a large grin. " Juvia, did you guys get the van?" He asked, sounding like he was out of breath, she nodded."Great, you guys need to get going. They've already called for back up and Elfman and I barely got out. I also got a call from Gildarts." At that I got behind Juvia so I could see Grey.

He was sporting a new black eye but otherwise looked unharmed. " What did he say?" I asked and his face fell. " Levy took a turn for the worse, he's not sure how much longer she's got." He said quietly. " She was fine a few hours ago!" I shouted, my heart clenching like a vice in my chest. Grey shook his head. "He's not sure why, but it seems to be spreading faster. He thinks she may have gotten an infection, and it's making her already weak immune system nearly non existant." He said quietly and I gritted my teeth. My mind immediately shot to the head wound she had gotten from our roof fall and I knew that had to be it.

" Let's get going then." Lucy said as she hopped out of the van, her face a hard mask. Juvia hung up with Grey and the three of us began scaling the closest building. We were quiet as we lept from roof to roof, the silence heavy. I didn't know what we would find when we got back to the bar, and I would never admit it, but I feared what we would find.

The sun was peeking over the horizon when we finally reached the bar, Grey and Elfman were waiting outside for us. They were battered and bruised, but they had definitely had worse. I tried to ignore the looks of pity on their faces as I pushed passed then into the empty bar. Mira came out of the back room, a half full bowl of soup and a bloody rag in her hand that made my stomach turn. She didn't look at me as she disappear into the kitchen and it took all of my effort to walk to the back room.

Gildarts was sitting on the edge of the small cot, gently laying the small form back into her bed. There was a bloody bucket beside the bed and he was using a now red cloth to wipe more blood off her mouth. " Levy..." a voice cracked beside me, and I glanced down to see a teary eyed Lucy. I wasn't good at comforting people, emotions weren't really my thing, but seeing the small broken girl like that, it was enough to make anyone break. I gently wrapped an arm around the shaking Blondes shoulders as Gildarts stood up and turned to us.

Lucy stepped forward, shakily taking the serum out of her belt. " Please tell me this will help... Please." She choked out. Gildarts sighed softly. " She's so far gone... It may slow down the symptoms, but without the cure... Levy will-" "Dont say it old man..." I croaked out, unable to take my eyes from Levy, her shallow breathing barely making her chest rise and fall. I slowly walked to her bedside, practically falling beside her before taking her pale hand.

Her face was contorted in pain, her skin was pale and sure enough, the gash on her forehead was showing infection through its stitches. She curled up more as a bone jarring cough racked her small body and blood spat out of her mouth, adding to the bloody mess on her pillow. I took the clean cloth Lucy handed me and gently wiped her mouth. Gildarts knelt beside me and gave her a dose of serum, and i didn't take my eyes off her as he gave me mine.

I wasn't sure how long I sat holding her hand, but after what I was sure was hours later, Mira came in with a bowl of soup. " Try and get her to eat. " she said quietly and I nodded. " Levy." I said quietly. She made a small noise in the back of her throat and her head turned slightly towards my voice. " Do you think you can try to eat shrimp?" Her eyebrows furrowed a little at the nickname and she made an annoyed sound and I chuckled lightly. After an attempted snort she nodded slightly. I gently sat her up, cradling her in my arm before using the free one to spoon feed her. She didn't eat much but anything was better than nothing. I laid her back down gently and took her hand again, she tried to squeeze it but it was nothing more than a twitch of the fingers.

Lucy P.O.V

I paced up and down Natsus room, my arms across my chest. " Luce, your making me dizzy." Natsu grumbled as he watched me, sitting up in his small cot. His torso and shoulder were heavily bandaged and he looked none to happy. " Then don't watch." I grumbled back. He huffed in frustration and, as i passed by his bed again, he reached out and snagged my arm, pulling me into his lap with a squeek. " Natsu knock it off!" I whined. He tightened his arms around my waist and buried his face in the crook of my neck, making me blush. " Natsu!" I tried pushing him away. " If your so worried," he mumbled against my skin, " Go see Droy."

I stopped my struggling and looked down at him. " What?" He looked up at me and I blushed again at our close proximity. " When Levy got bad last night I called him. He said he would do everything he could to get it done. Why don't you go see if it's finished." He said with a grin. I couldn't help but grin back. " Your the best Natsu." I said before hopping off his lap. I planted a quick kiss on his cheek before running out the door.
