Chapter 1 - Sold

Here's an alternate ending story to one episode I like from Goliath Chronicles that will be a Journey Home story too. Enjoy!

How could I have been so stupid to run away? Brooklyn thought to himself as he was darted by Radar's thugs. He grimaced in pain when falling down, the thugs taking his arms. The leader snickered.

"Sleepy time for one high-priced bundle..." he crooned. Brooklyn struggled to clear his head and fight the drug that made his senses go silly, spinning. He groaned while Bobbi cried for him in hiding.

"S-stand still so I can... fight you..." Brook slurred, his muscles becoming tingly with exhaustion, slumping in the guard's hold on him. The thug leader held up the unconscious creature's head. "Enjoy your nap, for this shall be the last time you will see your city home. Like you belonged here anyway," he spat heartlessly. Brooklyn hardly heard since he was barely awake, now completely out. Dave and Bobbi ran for it, the leader ordering two of his cronies to follow them since he brought more men with him.

Brooklyn felt his senses turning off but remembered those two nice kids. Dave... Bobbi... he thought sleepily before eventually, he surrendered to the drugs.
....

"So great of you, our buyer, to be able to come. I shall let you in once our precious prize is ready. He seems to be coming out now."

Brooklyn gave a weak groan, eyes slowly opening up, finding himself in a strange building full of large crates, and chains on his hands while being held tight. He at first wondered what had happened, but then it hit him; he had run away and got darted for it.

The red one lowered his head, an unhappy sigh following. If he had only kept his guard up, then Goliath needn't have shouted and made him run away. He guessed this was what he deserved. Then his chains were tugged, making him wince, a mean thug sneering at him.

"Come, you animal. Radar is waiting..." Brooklyn shook his head in defiance, not wishing to be used in this way. But his defiance got quenched from a gun under his chin, pressing into his neck.

"I'm sure ya don't want this to create a hole in yer pretty neck?" The thug questioned. Brook swallowed fear in his throat from not wishing to be shot. He shook his head, not having felt this scared since Brooklyn saw his leader be hurt.

Reluctantly, he walked along with the guards, head lowered in shallow sadness, hoping for any second to hear the door break down and his leader's awesome roar while being brought before his seller, Radar. Radar looked like an old mid-60s man, an evil grin on his face when seeing them bring a gargoyle for his buyer at last.

"So, boys, it seems you have finally brought my gargoyle? Excellent." he sneered. Brooklyn just growled with anger.

"Blow it out your butt, Radar. You didn't deserve to use those nice kids in your evil schemes. Just let me go!" He spat, tugging but someone kicked his back, sending him onto his knees and hands. Brook trembled slightly, looking up. Radar was pretty mad, shaking his head.

"A feisty gargoyle, too. But soon, you shall be submissive and obedient to your buyer, who I've heard has special plans for you," he threatened. Brooklyn felt his panic begin to come, wondering where his family could be. Radar saw him looking and laughed.

"No chance of your fellow family coming since I sent reinforcements to keep them away from here. You're mine until my buyer is here." Kenny suddenly showed, much to Brooklyn's shock and anger, hating that Kenny sold him out.

"Good work, Kid. Ah, he's arrived. Prepare to greet yer new owner, Prize." Radar said. Brooklyn heard the door open, his nerves making his heart skip really fast at who it could be.

A person dressed up like a ninja walked in, wearing a hood and a smirk under it. It made Brooklyn tremble at the idea of this strange, masked guy wanting him.

The man approached, eyes not leaving Brooklyn, who swallowed but glared, pulling on his chains. Radar tugged him from it, making him stumble before his buyer, who held up his chin then looked over his body.

"Hmm, now this is what I'm talking about; a purebred gargoyle just for me! He's quite the handsome devil, too..." This made Brook flinch from that hated word, gazing down.

Radar wanted to get on with it. "Yes, yes, he's a gargoyle. Now, about that price. It ain't goin' down, you know."

The stranger nodded. "You will get your money, Radar. Just let me check my new toy over." He kept up prodding Brooklyn everywhere to ensure his toy was healthy enough to bring home with him. Brooklyn bared his teeth from the man's cold hands, unable to pull free of this thug's arms. The hooded guy also opened his mouth, looking at his jaw structure.

Brook yanked back and closed his mouth again after he was done. "Seems healthy, though a muzzle and some chains will be much better for him, wouldn't you agree, devil creature?" sneered the evil man.

Brooklyn's eyes glowed. "I don't belong to anybody!" He shouted in defiance, ending with a slap to his face. "Shut up, You! I have a feeling some good discipline will keep your filthy words to yourself."

Radar got impatient. "C'mon already, just pay up now and we can all go home happy!" he snapped.

The man then paid Radar his money, and Brooklyn then knew he probably wouldn't see his family again. Not if he tried to escape, though.

He growled, tugging as much as he could on his chains, using his tail and swiped Radar away from them. Radar glared. "He's your problem now! Wherever you are taking that thing, it had better be far away from me!"

His buyer nodded, kicking and winding Brooklyn in his stomach, making the young Second collapse, wheezing. His buyer took his neck hard, forcing the devil to look at him.

"Any sort of resistance and I shall give you more pain than you can imagine..." he snarled. Brooklyn turned his head away, whimpering from lack of air, two thugs taking his arms again, dragging him away after that horrid human let him go.

Brooklyn felt so lightheaded and sore when being brought outside. He moaned. "G-Goliath... help..." he begged in a small voice, seeing a black van there that was going to take him away. The hooded guy opened the back, ordering his men to toss his merchandise inside. Brook flinched when hitting his head on the wall in the far back. He heard sinister chuckling, turning around to see the man smirking under his mask.

"Enjoy your road trip, Merchandise." He sneered when closing the back door. Brooklyn's vision then saw darkness around him. He instantly rammed his fists on the door, trying to get out.

"Let me out! You can't keep me!" He shrieked, tears falling down his face, but it was no use since the doors were rather thick and locked up. A hissing noise was soon heard. The red gargoyle saw green gas filling the place. He covered his face with his hands instantly, not wanting to breathe it in, panic flooding his body. But sadly, he ended up breathing in some gas, head beginning to feel woozy and tired. He tried to fight the effects.

No... can't fall... asleep... again... s-so sl-sleepy... Brooklyn thought in exhaustion, falling to the floor, breathing tiredly, eyelids closing as Brook gave into the sleeping gas and passed out for the second time, not knowing it was going to be quite a long time before his family would ever see him again.

...

Meanwhile, Bobbi and Dave had found Goliath, Angela and Elisa unaware that Brooklyn was no longer with Radar.

Bobbi was crying when trying to explain the situation, but Dave took over. "They shot Brooklyn, and he couldn't move and—." Goliath glared. "Where is Brooklyn?" He demanded. But then two thugs showed.

"If yer lookin' for your precious friend, he's gone now; Radar's sold him," mocked the first since Radar informed him on the walkie. Goliath roared in rage while Elisa held the two kids with her. Goliath pinned the man against the wall.

"Where are they taking him? Tell me, Filth!" he snarled. The man sneered. "Wouldn't you like to know? But you won't." Goliath then growled and tossed him away, Angela knocking out the other. Bobbi held onto her brother in fear, unable to accept that their new friend was now gone, and they might never see him again.

After interrogating them, they led the group to Radar, whom they'd captured, as well as Kenny, and brought Dave and Bobbi home, though Bobbi was sad that their guardian couldn't watch them being with their parents again.

The rest of the clan later had been told that Brooklyn had been taken by whoever took him from Radar and was now missing. Lex felt scared for his brother, praying that Brooklyn could find his way home from wherever they're taking him.
