December 20th 1937
"Japan had annexed Manchuria 6 yrs earlier and on July 7th 1937 they started the invasion of China during the Chinese civil war and the Japanese had captured Nanjing the Chinese capitol and brutally slaughtered and raped thousands of Chinese civilians and military POWS and is still going on" The headline said and I am not surprised I mean Japan did invade Manchuria 6yrs earlier and my father told me how brutal the Japanese are  I said to myself in deep thought and then my mom suddenly said Jon! Jon! Put that news paper down your gonna be late for school. I said Really oh Sorry mom as I got my backpack and ran out the door. As I was running down the street I hear some one calling my name I stop and turn and I see my best friend that I am in love with,Sara she has the most beautiful blonde hair with the most beautiful blue eyes and is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She said what are you looking at we are gonna be late. Then we both ran together ten blocks and get to school at the last second.After the 4 boring classes. It is lunch and I see my girlfriend Angie and I go and talk to her and I say "happy early birthday" and I hand her 2 birthday presents she and smiles and says she needs to talk to Natasha and I ask do you need me and she says no a few minutes later she says we need to talk and she mouths I am breaking up with  and I feel relived and I say"can I ask why" and she says"I already told you" we hug and I walk away feeling so happy that I am single again. I see sara and I her  tell what happened she asks how are you doing? And I respond with I'm doing amazing I'm so glad she dumped me and she says  are sure?I mean ,ever since your dad shipped out to China and Japan started invading China you have been more angry and sad and irritable, I also noticed that you are not eating as much and now this Jon listen I am worried about you. I give her a hug and I say I am sorry that I have been worrying you and you are right I just worry about my dad so much. We just stand there for the rest of lunch just holding each other in each other's arms. After school I see my other best friend hank he has black hair, green eyes, and he is the star quarterback and is the most handsome boy in the whole school and alot more muscular then me. We high five and he says Jon You should come to my girlfriends birthday party tomorrow night it's going to be a blast and I say are you sure Hank I mean I just thought you would want want time alone with your girlfriend Martha . Hank says are you kidding me you got to come besides you and Martha are friends and I respond with then I will come. Hank responds with cool see you there. We say our goodbyes. Then I see Sara and she asks do you want to go and hangout at the diner? And I say yes. We walk to the diner together. Then we find a booth and sit on opposite sides and start ordering Sara orders lasagna and a coke. I order a simple hamburger with water and we start talking about life and then we start to walk to the movie theater and 20 min in our walk suddenly some one wraps their arms around her and pull her and it is Rick Sara's Exboyfriend and he says hi Sara now who is this punk and She says he's just a friend and he is not a punk and please let me go and she starts flailing and kicking trying to get free but to no avail . I with all my strength push him away from her and I Yell let her go!and Rick gets up and says your dead Jon and he punches me I dodge that punch while this happens some of Rick's friends form a circle around me and Rick and one of them holds back Sara as she yells stop hurting him please! As I dodge the punch Rick knees me in the chest and punches me in the eye giving me a black eye a and keeps on punching me and then starts kicking me in ribs so hard I hear them break this continues for 2 minutes until they all finally leave and Sara runs to me and says are you ok? And helps me up and helps me walk with one of my
arms around the back of her neck to the opposite shoulder where her hand wraps around mine. And I say I am fine over and over again but to no avail and with her helping me walk we walk together to her apartment where she takes off my shirt and starts checking the wounds and oh my god you broke 3 ribs and have some abdominal bruising she says while wrapping a bandage she asks why did you do that for me? And I say because you are worth it and you are my best friend and after she finished the bandage we talk for a while and then her mom unlocks and opens the door and while Sara hides me in her closet, as Sara and her mom talk for a bit Sara opens the closet says go and I say thank you for everything we give each other a quick hug then I climb out the back window and walk home. When I get home I see my mom crying on the floor I ask what happened she says your dad is gone I respond with my dads dead and I flashback to every memory of my dad and I break down crying and saying dad why!!!
