~ Prologue ~
Anya put her journal into a box and shoved it under her bed. Her plan was almost complete. She only needed a few more weeks until she could leave this hellhole. There was muttering from downstairs, although clearly not very quiet. Not a secret at all, who or what her parents were talking about.
Anya hesitated before she walked downstairs,"Mom? I need you to drive me to ice skating."
Her mother didn't turn, she didn't even seem to notice her.
Anya sighed,"Dad?"
"Qhat do you want now? I'm busy." He scoffed, not looking up from his newspaper.
"I need you to drive me to ice skating. I'm late."
Her dad rolled his eyes,"Really?"
"Unless you want me to steal your car again." Anya shrugged.
Her dad groaned and got up, tossing his newspaper to the side,"I can't believe this."
Anya jumped and looked at him,"You signed me up for it.'
"I expected you to get yourself there on time." He marched off.
"How the fuck was I supposed to? I don't drive!"
"Walk."
"It's forty minutes away." Anya spat.
"Take the bus then." Her father crossed his arms.
"You'd do it for Quinn."
"Quinn's younger than you."
"It doesn't matter. You didn't treat me like her at her age." She scoffed.
"Well Quinn is not a freak like you." Her father hissed.
Anya looked at her father in disgust, those words hurt more than anything.
"Fuck this. And fuck you." Anya pushed him, running upstairs.
"Don't shove me, young lady!" He shouted up at her.
Anya slammed her door shut before she opened her drawers and began packing.
That's when there was a soft knock on her door,"Anya?"
"Not now, Quinn."
"You slammed the door. Are you alright?" Quinn asked through the door.
"I'm fine. Just- I'm sorry."
"Why are you sorry, big sis?"
"... I have to go away for a little while, but you be good, okay?"
"Of course I will." Quinn smiled.
"But you can't tell mom and dad." Anya finished packing her bag.
Quinn gasped,"I'm good at keeping secrets."
"I know you are." Anya sighed,"I love you."
"I love you too!"
Anya looked at the door, sighing before she left through the window. Quinn hummed happily and skipped back to her own room, blissfully unaware.
Anya looked around as she reached the ground,"Now where to?"
There were so many places she could go... But where could she go where she wouldn't be found? Anya looked at the garage before she shrugged and went in.
Unlocking the car that was parked, getting in and quickly sped off. She could make out the now fading yelling of her father from behind her... But that didn't matter. Now she was free.

"Samuel!" Bruce shouted from his study
Sam groaned as he rolled off his bed and wandered out into the hall,"What?"
"In here, now."
Sam sighed as he entered his father's study. What had he done wrong now?
"Can you explain to me why you've got bruises on you?"
"I fell." Samuel lied, shrugging his shoulders,"I was laying on a bookshelf."
"Then... Maybe you can explain these." Bruce showed CCTV pictures of Sam out fighting someone.
Sam bit his cheek,"Okay? I was fighting some guy. So what?"
"What have I told you about doing that?'
Sam rolled his eyes,"Jason fights people all the time. Why can't i?"
"Because you're not ready! I have explained this countless times. Jason? He is ready.' He sighed.
"I am ready, dad!" Sam shook his head,"I'm more than ready, I've been practicing! I'm gonna be a hero like Dick."
"Dick is his own person. He learnt quicker than you." Bruce pointed.
Sam clenched his fists,"I've been working really hard, why won't you just give me a chance?"
"Okay. How about this, hm? You and Jason go to the training room and see who wins." He leaned forward.
"Fine, if that's what it takes for you to pay attention to me." Sam muttered as he walked out.
"Go get your brother."
Sam nodded but gagged once he was out of earshot, he hated Jason being referred to as his brother. He only had one brother and it wasn't Jason.
When Sam found Jason, he was in the kitchen, drinking a coffee.
"Todd, dad wants us to go to the training room." Sam told him
"Nah bro, I've done my training today." Jason shrugged.
"Come on, he wants to see if I'm ready."
"Again?" He blinked.
"Jason, you know I'm ready."
"I mean... You got some lousy movements. But I think you could do it."
"They aren't lousy." Sam crossed his arms.
"Tell that to the CCTV." He joked.
Sam shook his head and walked off. He knew he was ready and he was going to prove it.

"Each of you grab a sparring stick." Bruce ordered.
Sam grabbed two, tossing the other one to Jason. Jason swiftly caught it, getting into position.
"Ready?"
Sam nodded, keeping his attention on Jason.
"Three... Two... One." Bruce clapped.
Sam didn't move at first, waiting for Jason to make the first move.
"What is this, the devil's tango?" Jason laughed before he jabbed at Sam.
"Being patient, ever heard of it?" Sam deflected it.
"Not really." He quickly turned and swiped at him.
Sam wasn't as lucky this time, getting hit but he raised his stick to fight back.
"Chop chop." Bruce spoke.
Sam shook his head, trying to stay focused.
"Sam, I'm open." Jason sighed.
Sam went to strike Jason. Jason quickly blocked Sam's hit, using his stick to pin his to the ground and swiped his feet causing Sam to fall to the ground. Sam winced as he landed on the ground, looking up at Jason and Bruce.
Bruce looked down at Sam in disappointment, shaking his head. Sam looked down as he pulled himself to his feet. Bruce just turned, whispering away about Sam not being good enough.
"I'm sorry Sammy, I did go easy on you." Jason sighed.
Sam stayed quiet.
"Look... I gotta go. I gotta head out on a mission with B-"
"I know." Sam crossed his arms,"Go be Robin, fight with Batman."
Jason rolled his eyes and walked out the training room. Sam looked away. He hated this place, he needed out. He wanted to find Dick.
But he didn't know where he was. Last he knew, he was in Detriot but this was Dick. Always out with the Titans... Maybe he could contact one of them? But how could he do that..? Sam sighed and hurried out of the training room.
"Sam?" Bruce grabbed his arm.
"Lemme go!"
"Sam, calm down." Bruce sighed.
"No, let me go!"
"Sam!" Bruce let go of him.
Sam pulled his arm away, looking up at Bruce.
"Don't pull any stunts while we're away." He warned.
"I won't." Sam scoffed.
"You said that the last time now look you." He gestured go his black eye.
"It's not like you care." Sam turned.
Bruce sighed and walked away. Sam ran to his room, pulling out his bag from underneath his bed. He had enough. He needed to find his brother, his real one.
How was he supposed to get away though? Maybe... Mayhe Alfred? Alfred was always so kind to him, always cheering him up when he was down and cleaning him up after he came home a mess.
Sam snuck downstairs with his bag to find him. There he was, in the kitchen as usual.
"Alfred? I need help." Sam sighed.
"What did you do this time Master Samuel?" Alfred sighed.
"Nothing... I want to leave."
"A holiday sir? Well, I can have a little look-"
"No Alfred, I want to leave Bruce forever."
Alfred looked at Samuel,"Sir?"
"I'm sorry." He sighed.
"You want... To leave?"
"I do."
"Forever?"
"Well, maybe not forever... But away from Bruce. I want to live with Dick."
"Dick's far away, Samuel."
"But I don't want to be here anymore, Bruce has Jason anyway." Sam sighed.
"Regardless sir, you're still his son."
"It doesn't feel like it." Sam crossed his arms,"Can you remember any time he's spent with me? Just me?"
"Before Master Jason arrived." He sighed.
"He has his son, his Robin. I'm not good enough, he said so himself."
"Master Samuel, don't feel that way." Alfred walked up to him.
"I can't help it, I don't belong here. I want my brother." Samuel leaned against him.
"I can... Maybe help you in finding him." Alfred admitted.
"Please? It would mean a lot to me." Samuel pleaded.
"Try... LA." Alfred nodded.
"Thanks Alfred." Samuel hugged him.
"Maybe even a place called, Titans Tower." Alfred chuckled.
Samuel smiled as he let go of Alfred, hurrying off to the foor.
"And be careful! Please." Alfred held his head.
"I will, promise!" Sam called to him before running outside.
